The tofu soup and galbi were delicious! The Hambok steak was unique. A bit tangy.. tasted like mustard and Worcestershire.. but still good. Def will be back for tofu soup and the Army Soup!
The four of us came on Fri night around 7PM and were able to get seated right away. They have a few bottled beers available including Terra. We started with the Tuna Kimbap and it was solid. All four of us ordered Dolsot Bibimbap - two with bulgogi, one with spicy pork and one with Galbi-jjim....and we all had the same reaction - WINNER! The tastes and portions were spot on and we left very satsified and content with our decision to visit Mama's Kitchen!
Food was good, but service very bad. Had to call over the server multiple times to get items that we needed to eat our meal. The seafood pancake, ban ban fried chicken, and vegetable bibampap was ordered. Only 2 small banchan dishes was given. I thought cost was high for portion size and service. 2nd time here to give it another try. Will go to my go to Korean restaurant in Bellevue and Issaquah instead.
Yum!!! Came here for the first time for a later lunch, food was incredible! Inside was clean and nice, can't wait to come back!
Portions are very generous! I ordered the dolsot bibimbap and usually this is enough for one person, but they gave so much here that it could've been shared with my party! It was a lot, but good. I was able to try out the wings and kimbap as well and it was all pretty good. No hate. Service is as expected. Not going out of their way to give an outstanding experience. Just enough to get you what you need. There aren't too many tables and I can see the larger table in the middle being shared by different groups cafeteria style. Overall, good spot to eat and grab some Korean food on a cold rainy day.
The ambiance is modern with a few casual tables, and it felt cozy overall. I came to meet a friend around 7:45 PM on a Tuesday. The kitchen was open, clean, and maintained good hygiene. The server was incredibly friendly and sweet. Since I arrived quite early, he kindly offered me a hot tea, which was very tasty and refreshing. I ordered the bibimbap, which was quite good everything appeared fresh, and the egg and flavors were enjoyable. The best part was that the server didn't rush us at all, whether it was with the order or the check. We ended up staying for nearly two hours, talking about everything openly.
Solid spot for Korean food in Bellevue! Would recommend coming with more people so you can share. I came here with 2 friends for dinner on a Tuesday night around 6 pm and it was still fairly empty. It was completely full by the time we left with 1-2 groups waiting, so it's definitely a popular spot. We came in the middle of a heat wave, but it didn't feel like the restaurant turned on their AC, so it was super hot and stuffy inside. I was hoping to escape the heat by coming to the restaurant but sadly that wasn't the case. On top of that, they gave us room temperature water at the beginning, and we had to specifically ask for iced water. If it's that hot inside and out, at the very least they could've given everyone iced water by default... Anyways, moving onto the food. We shared the following items: Veggie eggroll ($6.99) - pretty standard Ban ban chicken ($24.99) - didn't realize their fried chicken would be in the form of chicken wings and not drumsticks, which is what I'm used to. The menu doesn't call out that it's chicken wings either, which would've been helpful. I liked it but thought it was pricy for the portion Galbi-jjim bibimbap ($24.99) - my favorite dish of the night. Galbi was flavorful and they include plenty of egg and veggies to mix together with the rice Katsu mayo over rice ($16.99) - I personally found this dish bland but my other friends liked it. I didn't think there was enough flavor in the chicken and egg to eat with all the rice they give you
I first saw Mama's Kitchen while visiting another restaurants in the plaza. I always like trying Korean food restaurants and this one was very good! We went towards the end of lunch and were seated quickly (there's no reservations, only a wait list). While the seating area isn't large, they're able to fit quite a few tables in and there is an open kitchen at the back. Everything was very clean and the staff were very efficient in bussing tables. They were also quick in taking our order and the food also came out to us quickly. As for the food, I have my favorites and had to get the soondoboo soup. I'd say this is higher on my list of good ones, nice flavor without it being too spicy and I only wish the bowl was bigger. We also ordered the beef bulgogi over rice, also with excellent flavor and quality meat and the seafood pancake. The pancake had lots of seafood but I wasn't used to the panko-like breading. Altogether very good and would go back next time I'm in the area.
I'm writing this review based on two separate visits. I wanted to share my experience--especially with the Half & Half (H&H) chicken--and see if others had similar thoughts. During my first visit, I ordered the H&H chicken and the hamburger steak. The hamburger steak lacked seasoning and had an unpleasant ground meat smell that wasn't masked well. But the worst part was the plating. The plate was full of water from the salad, which had run into the rice and meat. Every time I picked up a piece of food, I had to shake off excess water--it was really off-putting. The H&H chicken was the most disappointing. I took most of it to go, and while packing, I noticed all six pieces were wings. I had already eaten a couple, so I was confused--how could there be more than two wings from one chicken? I looked around and noticed other tables who ordered the same dish didn't get just wings, so I'm not sure what happened there. On my second visit, I ordered the chadol jjolmyun, veggie kimbap (their best and signature item), and chicken katsu. The chicken katsu is basically the same as the hamburger steak in terms of sauce and plating--just a different protein. I'm not a fan of their sauce. I wish they offered something with more kick or a tangier flavor. The overall taste was bland, and I quickly got tired of it. The chadol jjolmyun was pretty good--plenty of veggies and nicely cooked meat on top. The initial presentation was scrumptious. However, the noodles were buried at the bottom and hard to mix in. Also, the flavor leaned greasy due to the meat and extra sesame oil. A bit more vinegar or something refreshing would have balanced it better. The veggie kimbap remains my favorite. It has a minimal rice-to-veggie ratio and is packed with fresh ingredients. The side of pickled radish kimchi adds a nice kick and helps reset your palate between bites. Overall, I still feel the prices are a bit high for what you get, but since everything is expensive these days, I might come back occasionally. When I do, I'll stick to their signature items like kimbap and tteokbokki.
Very authentic Korean place. Small place and the wait around dinner time can be hectic since they are understaff and waitlist is confusing. But the food was great. I particularly like bubibamp. Lots of veggies and they even have some jelly like veggies that I rarely seen in other places. Their kimbamp are huge with lots of filling and less rice. But would skip on the tofu soup. It taste a lot like msg with lots of chili powder.
Mama's Kitchen is a small mom and pop shop serving Korean classics. We came here for lunch and was lucky to get a table right away. It was quite a wait before we got our food but they were all delicious so all is well. We got the seafood pancake, the gyoza, the ban ban chicken and a cup of sikhye. - The seafood pancake was great, it had a different texture compared to pancakes that I've had in the past, not better or worse, just different. - The gyoza I couldn't remember, it was mostly consumed by our kid. - We enjoyed the ban ban chicken; I liked their yangnyeom sauce. - The sikhye (traditional sweet Korean rice beverage) was pretty good but is an acquired taste, so some might not appreciate it. They seem to be known for their kimbap so I would try that next time.

Mama's Kitchen was just alright. My friends and I came in for lunch on a Saturday, and we were surprised at how quickly we were able to sit at a table. The menu was okay but I expected a little more variety! I ordered the Katsu with Mayo over Rice, which also came with scrambled eggs. I would definitely NOT recommend this dish, since it was super dry and the eggs were overcooked. For a dish that comes with fried pork and only white rice, you would expect some kind of sauce, but the mayo is just a drizzle. The only reason why I'm not giving less stars is because the service is pretty good and the dishes that my friends got were okay - the tteokbokki in particular came with a lot of add-ons. read more

Mamas korean comfort foods, location factoria near i 90 freeway & 405 across from kfc. This the kfc alright also korean fried chicken. The restroom was very clean, i appreciate having the washroom open. Even if a lot sanitizer was available, i don't want to taste or smell that liquid stuff, its always better to wash hands with soap & water. I taste for the first time kimbim sushi korean style was delicious and i also taste the crispy chicken katsu. Creamy soup was also tasting good. It was very busy 1200 noon, i think a redesign of the inside would be more efficient because alot take out orders, also during covid phase ii indoor dining was available. I feel the entrance was not enough space. Five stars for my server / waitress / cashier she was handling a lot, during the lunch rush, but with professionalism and excellent customer service read more

Small but great Korean restaurant with variety of choices! The spicy cheese rice cake is great! It is a little different than the traditional Korean restaurant in the US, for example, less side dishes here, but their food is authentic and tasty. read more

Got take out Kimbap, glass noodles, and wings! They are really good! Especially the wings and kimbap! The wings are flavorful and it's crunchy even we ate this couple hours later, and the kimbap seems soo fresh, but it broke easily! I will definitely go back and sit it and try it read more

Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! Katsu had an amazing crunch. Rice was cold, but all is forgiven. The Seafood ramen broth was incredible and rich with flavor. You can't go wrong when ordering this. My beef bulgogi had so much flavor and the meat was nice and tender. The food tasted as it should. The pictures for all of the food was taken after a 15 min drive which is why the Mayo on the Katsu wasn't visible. read more
Mamas kitchen is situated in the same plaza as Katsu Burger. I called ahead and ordered a chadol jjolmyeon on my way to work. Given that it's a cold dish I wasn't expecting the meat to be a bit warm when I got to work. It's the small wins, ya know? This dish was very enjoyable. The spiciness grows as you keep eating, so make sure to pace yourself if you're not about that spicy life. For me, I loved every moment of increasing heat and really appreciated the fresh tasting and crunchy vegetable pairings the dish offered. My only knock is that the price is maybe a tad high, but easily forgivable given the portion size and abundance of sweet, sour, spicy flavor emanating from each bite. Will definitely be back to try the kalbi bibimbap next! read more

Bae and I were on our way to Musashi's in Factoria, and then we realized we didn't have enough cash. Instead of going to the ATM, I remembered that I had been meaning to check out Mama's Kitchen ever since it opened. Now was the time! We visited an hour before it was closing on a Friday. Mama's is allowing dine-in, and when we visited for Friday dinner, we were one of only two parties dining in. But the kitchen was busy with takeout orders. My boyfriend ordered the galbi jjim bibimbap while I had the spicy seafood ramen, and we shared the mama's kimbap. Food didn't take long to get, and everything looked delicious! The server mentioned that her favorite dish was the galbi jjim bibimbap, which my boyfriend loved. I liked my spicy seafood salmon, especially with the squid and clams, but wish it had been a tad bit spicier, since I ordered it with the most spice. It was a great meal though, especially since I needed something warm and comforting on a chilly night. The mama's kimbap was awesome to share! The roll was filling, with the meat and pickled veggies. Our dishes also came with a side of kimchi. I would definitely like to come back again, especially to try out their lunch combinations that they have! The menu was large enough to choose from, so would like to try other items for next time. Glad to have this Korean spot in Factoria and Bellevue! read more
Located across the street from Factoria Marketplace, I came here on a Saturday for lunch and it was busy. They have a parking lot shared amongst the other nearby businesses, but parking is limited, especially on a weekend like today. Luckily, there is more parking across the street at the Factoria Marketplace and then you can walk across the street. Walking in, it's pretty tight spaced with about 7-8 tables, but people are spaced for covid safety precautions. At the entrance, there's sanitizer to use if you have to write your name down on the waitlist for a table. Luckily, my friend and I came at the right time and we were seated within five minutes of getting there. The price of the food seems pricy, but the amount of food given makes up for the prices. My friend got the Soondooboo, while I got the Katsu Mayo over Rice, and we shared the Yangnyeom Chicken Wings. The Katsu was fairly crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The flavor of the Katsu Mayo chicken was delicious! It was a lot to eat, plus the wings. As for the Yangnyeom Chicken Wings, it was pretty crunchy and flavorful! My friend and I definitely enjoyed it! Her Soondooboo was pretty tasty, as well, according to her. Service was good. I wish we didn't have to get the attention of the waitstaff for water and napkins (we were only given the single napkin to start out with that was used to wrap up the utensils), but we did. They were not awful, in fact, the service was good. When we asked for what we needed, we got it promptly. And towards the end, we were asked if we wanted a refill without even asking. So, in the end, the service was good. They were all very kind and helpful. I will definitely come back to try out their out dishes! read more

First time trying this restaurant and it's the first time I'm assigning a dish the word "crave." The chicken tonkatsu over rice is delicious! Crispy on the 0outside, and tender and juicy on the inside, it's accompanied with scrambled eggs. The seafood tofu soup is the only choice, and was kinda fishy tasting. This was okay. Will definitely be back to try other dishes. Service was fast. The check-in system is adding your name to a paper list outside, then a worker calls out your name. The place is nice and clean and space is medium sized. You could see the chef cooking. It's in a strip mall and Factoria Mall is across the way, so there's plenty of parking. read more

5 stars for food 1 stars for service Hand down the best kimbap I ever had. The rice was super thin, the stuff inside tasted super fresh and delicious. Honestly, once you try Mama kimbap, you probably would not want to eat kimbap anywhere else. The service need serious improve. I knew the restaurant was busy like many other places but no greeting, no checking on table, no filling water, no thanking is too much. I waited 30 minutes for my food but 2 tables who came after me got serve first. The staff looks annoyed when I asked for checking on my food. My daughter said thank you when she got water, food, and bill. Staff just walk away and did not say anything nice for the whole time. read more

Below average Korean food that looks better than it tastes. My whole table agreed that the food was pretty mid -- it feels like this place is cutting corners. The spring roll lacked flavor, the tteokbokki was overly chewy, the galbi jjim bibimbap was cold because it didn't come in a stone bowl & the Katsu was late AND fried in old oil giving it a nasty taste. The cherry on top? Kimbap takes 25 min -- how does that make any sense?! Especially for the price I feel like things should be waaaay better than they were. Probably one of my least favorite Korean spots near Seattle -- pretty disappointing, unfortunately. read more

This is now a regular place we get take out during these times! The fried chicken wings are seriously the best! So good, expensive, but we still get it because it's just that good. 12 pieces for I think $20? That and kimbap both last well through driving home. read more

Food: (9/10) The food here is definitely very comforting! Been wanting to try Mama's Kitchen for so long and when i finally did, it did not disappoint! I absolutely enjoyed the Galbi-Jjim Bibimbap! It was $20 for the bowl but the portion was pretty big. I had enough leftovers to enjoy it for another day! 100% would go back to get this bibimbap when i'm craving for it! I also ordered cold noodles (not pictured) for the first time and it was soo good! The noodle has a nice chew to it, which is very much up my alley! Had leftovers for this too! So portions are pretty good here Service: (10/10) The employees here were very attentive! They had saw that i dropped my chopsticks and got me a new pair right away! Also, I would recommend coming early for dinner to beat the crowd since i can see that they can get pretty busy with the limited seatings they have space for. read more
I first heard of Mama's Kitchen because the news was making the rounds in FB that they were broken into. With good reviews and endorsements, I happily went to give them some business. Food: Yangnyeom chicken wings - 5 Stars Korean chicken wings are the "it" food in the recent years. These have a nice crunch from the frying, and the flavor is a wonderful mix of spicy and sweet. A must try if you like chicken wings. Seafood premium ramen - 3 Stars The flavor of the stock is the best feature. The ramen tasted okay. The veggies and seafood are limited, just some beansprouts, 2 shrimps, and 1 green mussel. Galbi-jjim bibimbap - 4.5 Stars This is an upscale bibimbap with tender pieces of beef. It's not eaten with the red hot sauce. It was pre-mixed with the sauce, and it was flavorful and very tasty. I additionally cooked a sunny-side-up egg to top it off, and it was perfect! Tteokbokki, 2 orders - 4 Stars These are Korean stir-fried rice cake noodles, fat and 4-inch or so long; it's cooked with fish cakes, light veggies, and served with an egg roll, a fried gyoza, and tempura shrimp. The sauce comes in different spiciness. We ordered a regular spicy and an extra spicy. The extra spicy has a fantastic kick. The rice cake noodles has a great gummy, chewiness. It's very signature, classic Korean. Definitely give this place a try. It's worth it! read more

As someone who lives in Factoria, I am really grateful to have this spot nearby! During the early days of the pandemic, I would order the fried chicken and it was some of the best Korean fried chicken I have ever had. Most recently when I dined in, I tried their cheese tteokbokki. The sauce was not too spicy and the amount of cheese was not overwhelming. My only complaint is that the food is on the pricey end but still, it tastes great and is right next door! read more

Browsing Yelp for a Sunday lunch, I was excited reading their menu, and even more excited to learn that they were still open for takeout amidst all of the Coronavirus craziness. Picking up my food was easy, the employees were friendly, and the space was clean with a modern squeaky white vibe. They even threw in a free rice drink! It tasted like sugar water with oatmeal floating in it, but it was a sweet gesture. Unfortunately, there were a few speed bumps in my dining journey, the first of which was that my order was incorrect. I had wanted the normal chicken katsu rice bowl, but I got the quirky mayonnaise version which didn't have much of any tonkatsu sauce, with a poorish meat-to-rice ratio. It also had some seaweed pieces that's were pretty funky. I did get to try some of the other dishes: the spicy chicken wings were also a miss in my book, but the tofu stew was really really good! That's what I would order if I were to come back. Maybe some day I'll be able to update this review with a better score. They were nice and I hope they survive the recession. read more

The bibimbap was bigger than I thought and they didn't skimp on the ingredients. We ordered the budae jjigae extra spicy and it had the perfect kick. Ban ban chicken was good but I prefer the yangnyeom over the regular fried. It's pretty small inside so I would say go a little early to miss the rush! read more

Mama's Kitchen has such great food! When my boyfriend and I came, we ordered Mama's Kimbap ($15.99), Cheese Tteokbokki ($18.99), and the Galbi Jjim Bibimbap ($25.99). Although not as unique as the other two dishes we ordered, the Kimbap was very tasty. The Cheese Tteokbboki was SO good. The cheese pull on this was insane, the rice cakes were the perfect texture. We ordered it mild (choice between mild, regular, or extra spicy), and even with mild there was a light heat but completely doable and still very delicious. The dish also came with a fried dumpling, fried tempura shrimp, and egg roll which I thought was a little random, but I am not complaining as they tasted very good dipped in the tteokbokki sauce. I really enjoyed the Bibimbap too as the meat was so tender and flavorful. I never had bibimbap with the kind of meat used at Mama's Kitchen so this was definitely a unique aspect that I haven't had anywhere else. The veggies were plentiful. The side dishes of the radish were also very pleasant as they had a great crunch and freshness to balance the cheese we were eating. One note I would like to add is that Mama's Kitchen does lean more towards on the pricier side (for just two people and three dishes, we spent about $70 for one dinner meal...), so do be aware! I do hope to come back soon to try the fried chicken as well. read more

Really good budae jjigae!! It can feed two, or three people easily. If you're really hungry like me, you can eat it all with no problem. It's a bit pricey, but not bad if you can split with someone else. Service is kind, and they do their best to get right back to you when they can. Usually it's busy, so it's nice to be patient with them ! The restaurant is clean and it's a good vibe for lunch or dinner. I'll definitely come again. read more
Was doing a little shopping in the area, so decided to stop by here since I've been wanting to try their fried chicken. I got the Ban Ban Chicken, which comes with half fried and half yangnyeom chicken wings, and also got the Kimchi Fried Rice, but without the cheese. The chicken wings were juicy and flavorful. They probably would've been crispier if I picked it up sooner and was able to eat right away, but it was still good. The Kimchi Fried Rice was also good and tasty. read more
Tried 2 dishes and I don't think I will go back. The foods took forever to come (much longer than other Korean fried chicken places I've been to). The pan cake was flavorful but there was a lot of flour compared to the tiny amount of seafoods. The fried chicken wasn't great. There are definitely lots of better places out there. read more
Still amazing...just visited again and tried few more dishes. Everything was still great and spicy and their gochujang still rocks. I love my Mama! But she doesn't cook Korean food like Mama's Kitchen. This is Korean home cooking though and they have all my favorites. Tucked in this quiet strip mall, everything is in a clean white color, so all your food pictures pop! No reservations here, so show up and grab a table. The nice colorful menu is helpful if you're not familiar with many of the dishes with Korean names, but many dishes have descriptions to help out. Normally I would start with the Seafood Pancake, but since our dinner companion is allergic to shellfish, we went with the Kimchi Cheese Pancake instead. It's like a spicy Korean quesadilla. We also ordered Mama's Japchae, sweet potato noodles with vegetables and beef slices in a savory sauce, one of favorites. It came with a cute rolled up scrambled egg. The Galbi Jjim Bibimbap was also interesting, with bean sprouts, julienned carrots, shiitake mushrooms, leafy vegetable and a big chunk of braised short rib. The short rib is so tender that it comes apart with a spoon as you mix everything up with the spicy red pepper sauce and rice. We also ordered the Mama's Kimbap, a big diameter version of a futomaki with ground beef, fishcake, fried tofu, cucumber, carrots, faux crab, egg and pickled radish. How they fit it all into a seaweed roll with rice is a culinary feat and tasty treat. Only downside from your regular Korean restaurant is that no banchan dishes are served. What you order is what you get and what you get is plenty delicious. I just wish we had more appetites to try all the other dishes on the menu! Looking forward to the next time we're in Seattle! read more
Mama's Kitchen is a cozy place for delicious comfort food, but (be prepared) prices are a bit high. I went here on Sunday afternoon with two friends, and we were able to find seating immediately. The atmosphere is quite cozy with its small size and friendly employees. The place is clean and modern, despite the homestyle feel the food gives. The menu is quite plentiful with the amount of food options. There are choices from bulgogi, soondubu, and bibimbap. I ordered the Soondubu while my friends ordered the Dolsot Bibimbop and the Galbi-Jjim Bibimbop. Be warned, the prices are not very cheap compared to similar competitors. Dolsot Bibimbap was $15.99 while the Galbi-Jjim Bibimbap was $19.99. Soondubu was reasonable at $12.99 (average pricing). The food, however, was good. The Soondubu was hot, fresh, and flavorful with the beef and seafood. The other dishes, my friends remarked, were quite good too. Overall, Mama's Kitchen is a good place to eat with small groups of friends or groups of two. The place itself is small, but the modern and friendly ambiance makes this place especially cozy. Service is good, and food is delicious. It is more expensive, but the quality and taste of the food is pretty good. Would definitely go again, but food prices could be lowered a bit! read more

I've been coming here for a while and every time the food has been on point. Usually my go to is the Mayo Katsu over rice or the Mama's Kimbap. Their Kalbi-Jijim Bibimbap is quite good as well. As I'm writing this review I'm already getting hungry and mouth watery thinking about how delicious these dishes taste....The restaurant itself is a bit small but I haven't had an issue getting seated with in a reasonable time. The staff is kind and the service is quick. It is a great place to grab some food if your in this area. read more
