Being from Plano, I have visited plenty of the local nail salons and deem this one the best! The salon is run by a family who is really nice and always accommodating. I came here over spring break and didn't make an appointment, so I had to wait about 15-20 minutes. However, they kept apologizing for having me wait, which was no big deal because I had not secured a time slot in the first place. I usually get a French manicure/pedicure when I come here, though I have gotten regular manicures as well and they do a thorough job with your nails and hand/lower arm massage. I would recommend this place to others if they are in the area and would definitely come again when I am back in town. read more

I found this place through Yelp. Thanks fellow members! As soon as I walked in I was greeted and asked what service I needed. I then chose my colors, which was hard because I always get the French manicure. Plus, they have tons of colors to choose from! But today, I wanted something different and chose two colors. I opted for the spa manicure and the spa pedicure, as I enjoyed the massage chair. My hands (up to my elbows) and feet (up to my knees) were exfoliated. Afterwards, they wrapped them up in hot towels, followed by a massage and lotion. It was super relaxing and perfect after a crazy day at work! I wasn't a fan of the lady who did my nails. She filed my nails all the way down to where it hurts, even when I told her not to. She also didn't put the shellac all over my nail. The lady who did my pedicure did a fantastic job but unfortunately I won't be coming back. read more

I like this place...really I do... but this is the second (and last) time that the older lady who works here-- I think she is the mom of the owner -- has cut my cuticles to the point that they bleed. Very painful. And no apology, but that may be due to a language barrier. Nonetheless, an apology is universal, isn't it? This place is owned by a nice family; their little son basically stays in the store with them all day long. He is super cute. Their work is fine.. but whatever you do, stay away from the older lady. I've been coming here on and off for 3 years. I am now done with this place. This places is cheaper however you really do get what you pay for in this situation. I have been there 7 or 8 times and have gone back because its so inexpensive but yesterday was by far the worst experience. They were so rude and unprofessional, I took a phone call while my nails were drying and the gentleman grabbed my card and proceeded to ring me up without my concent to see of I even wanted to use that card!? Before I knew it I was signing and being pushed out the door. No matter how cheap this place is I would never go back, especially because there are so many nail salons in plano! It is holiday season & a Monday so I easily walked in for a pedi. The staff was very friendly, they even changed HGTV to ESPN so that I could finish watching the Armed Forces Game!! Go Navy! I originally came to this salon after work to fix a broken acrylic nail. Andy the owner took care of my service right away, no wait. The replaced nail looked way better than the rest. I was very pleased at the gentle touch Andy had, not pinching or pulling my finger. :) Update: Now I regularly go there currently as my main salon. I prefer to get Next Gen manicures for their strength and durability. I gone back 4 additional visits and have been very please with every visit. I usually get to have Andy take care of my nails which always look beautiful. Everyone is very professional but still feel very friendly. The salon also has a very calm atmosphere which I really appreciate. The only thing I would like is more colors!! :) There can never be enough colors though. There a ton of reds and pinks but less of the purples and greens. ;) read more

I have been to several salons in the North Texas area and the friendliness of the staff alone will bring me back again. Stopped in close to closing and everyone was super helpful. She really made sure my cuticles were as clean as possible upon request. One person cleaned and prepped my nails while another actually put the gel on. There were bubbles and she was quick to fix them so they were perfect. I walked in today for the first time (visiting my parents over the holidays). It was mid-afternoon and I was the only customer there and was a little apprehensive due to some of the not so great reviews. However, Sandy's review below mentioned they were under new management, so I decided to give them a try. I decided to get a pedicure ($20) and a manicure ($12). Seriously impressed by the inexpensive prices! Upon reading the descriptions for the pedicure, I decided to upgrade to the spa pedicure ($25), which included a callus removal wrap. A nice younger guy did my pedicure. It was one of the better pedicures I've had, but it was the BEST leg/foot massage I've ever had. Hands down, I'd go back for the pedicure. They got someone to do my manicure at the same time as my pedicure. It was ok. Not bad, but not amazing. Could use more pressure on the massage -- and oddly the massage on my left hand was noticeably shorter in length than the one on my right hand. Although the nail tech did a good job cleaning up my cuticles, she did get some polish on my cuticles and polished over a particle on my left pinky nail, leaving a noticeable bump on the nail. She had already moved on to the next customer when I noticed, so I just tried to smooth it myself when the polish was dry to the touch. One thing I liked was that they offered me something to drink and they had HGTV on the telly. The place seemed pretty clean. Decent polish color selection (OPI and Essie). And they were very nice. So to sum up, I'd definitely go back for a pedicure if I'm in town visiting my parents again. But I'd maybe try a manicure with a different nail tech. Younger guy = awesome. The place can get very busy (the best places always are), but if you can call ahead and amke an appointment too. I have always had good experienes at Malibu and the techs are as nice as the owners. They are great about asking you if you like what they're doing so they can fix things if you don't. And also, they're super clean and inexpensive. You won't be disappointed. read more

WOW. I really can't believe what a piece of garbage this place is. All these 5 star reviews really had me thinking there was no way this could go wrong but damn I've never had a worse experience. I had to walk out. I called in advance asking if they had availability for a pedicure and that if be arriving in 10 minutes and they said yes no problem. I arrived and there was no availability but j figured someone would be finishing up soon so I listened to the lady and took a seat and waited. They may have picked up on the fact that I'd need to be done in less than an hour; however, without having mentioned anything directly, a 30 min pedicure is certainly on the too-quick side. Tried this for the first time today and I had a great experience. $27 for dipped nails - that was the best part!! My only negative take-away was that she did not do any lotion or massage on my hands after my nails were finished. My nails are PERFECT though, and she was gentle but quick. I was in there less than 30 min total and my nails have never looked better. For that price, I'd certainly be back. I think next time I'll ask for lotion and a massage and offer to pay a few dollars more. Great service, great prices, clean location! read more

Malibu nails is SUPER CHEAP!!! The main reason why I bothered to go somewhere other than Tip to Toe Nails in Plano (they are the best but pricy) Normally I pay 35 for a normal spa pedicure plus another 30 for manicure. I end up paying around 70+ bucks. I tried malibu nails and while the tech's were friendly the girl workign on my feet took a long time. My boyfriend got the deluxe pedicure which was 4 things more than mine and I still finished last!! Over all the experience was really good and you just can't beat the price! Try it out read more

This place provides top notch service at a great price with a positive attitude! The new owners, Andy and Jessie, really takes pride in doing a great job with whoever their team is working on. He told me that he always strives to do an excellent job because people notice, and I completely agree. They spent almost an hour working on my pedicure and my acrylics and gel nails never look better than when I leave this place. I am always disappointed when I go anywhere else, because I know that Malibu always does it better. Plus, where else could you go and get a $19.99 pedicure?!? They treated them with respect, fussed over them, and engaged them in a little bit of small talk, not talking amongst themselves. I've been looking for a place for a good pedicure including foot massage for a while. I looked up salons in our area and found there are many salons to choose from. However, Malibu Nails stood out with several good reviews so I took a chance not only for myself but I took my mom along too. We were both pleasantly surprised. Although I had high hopes of quality service we found Malibu Nails exceeded our expectations. So much so, we decided to get my mom a manicure while we were there, which turned out fabulous too. I recommend you take the extra time to pamper yourself with the hot towel, hot wax, hot stone foot massage pedicure. It's worth it and very reasonably priced. Mom got a very nice hand and arm massage for the price of her manicure. The Salon is clean, professionally run, offers a relaxing environment and a very pleasant staff working on customers making each experience unique and enjoyable. Customers are friendly with each other too. There was a frantic walk-in customer needing a quick nail color change that was not up for a short 10 minute wait but once she realized it would take her at least 10 minutes to drive to another salon as a walk-in customer she decided to wait. I believe it was also due to the friendly atmosphere she witnessed when she walked in the door. It didn't seem to be 10 minutes before she was being treated with the same individualized service we all received. i love their pedicures. cheap&good. however the last couple times they've been super busy when i've gone and they've rushed it :/ if you pay cash, you get a discount! i've gotten gel manicures here before as well, but they didn't last, my nails would break and the gel would lift and peel. and i asked for a certain pintrest-inspired design and they said they couldn't do it. after a few bad gel manicure experiences i stopped getting them here. this is still a good spot though for a good cheap pedi! read more

I brought a friend's sister here to get her nails done for her formal and decided to get my nails done as well! I made appointments for us an hour prior and we were seated as soon as we entered even though a few people had walked in before us, which was nice. We both got the deluxe manicures, which comes with a scrub and hot towels for $17. Her tech was really great and paid a lot of attention to how she wanted her nails shaped whereas my tech was very nice but kept getting paint on the skin around my nails and not cleaning it until I pointed it out. The hand and arm massages were wonderful and the coats of paint were even on both hands, but I just felt like for that price I could've gotten more somewhere else. If I come back to this place, I would just do a color change and pay for the nail care instead of the extra treatment. read more
