My technician, Tia, started my appointment right on time. She was quiet but checked in with me to make sure she understood what I wanted. While the service itself wasn't bad, there wasn't anything that stood out. At other salons I've visited, the experience typically ends with small finishing touches--like applying lotion or a brief hand massage--but this service felt very basic. I still tipped Tia 20% because Honey worked me into the schedule during what would have been Tia's break, and I appreciated that accommodation. Unfortunately, once I got home and removed my contacts so I could see my nails more clearly, I noticed several details that became more apparent over the next few days. It appeared the polish wasn't properly sealed, and one nail had missing polish along the side before I ever left the salon. Since my nails were completely dry when I departed, I believe those issues should have been caught before the service was finished. The cleanest, nicest nail salon I've ever been too. I went there the first time and when I heard they weren't pushing for me to get tips, I was so happy. Respected my baby nails. I went back for a second time with my mom. They explained what would be good for me and my mother. Honey did my nails which was amazing. Simple and cute. Tia did my mom's which is the one in the picture. My mom loves that she somehow was able to make all her reference photos into one. If you're ever going there, bring some MAMA ramen for Honey. I recently moved in the area and have only had my nails done a few times at a nearby nail place. And while I really like the nearby place, that salon seems very difficult to get into. As in, it's always dark when I go in and there's usually just one woman working on the week days with one customer in the entire shop and if you don't have an appointment, you're just out of luck. I can't deal with that kind of exclusivity because my pedicure needs are sporadic and always happen on a whim. I drove around until I saw this shop near the house. "Honey Dipp." Cute name. I did a quick Yelp review and looked only at the rating and decided to give it a shop. Walked in and immediately was aware that I'm was the only Asian here. Long story short, this ended up being a great experience. I had "Q" who did a fantastic job. When I say she did a great job, I mean, she was inspecting each one of my toe nails like a jeweler inspecting a diamond. She actually scrubbed the rough spots on my feet and took time to make sure the polish was on perfectly. Even though there were a few people in the shop, I did not once feel rushed or uncomfortable. Plus, one of the employees had her kid there who was seriously one of the cutest freakin kids I've ever seen running around offering me Ritz crackers. From the moment I walked in the door, I felt very taken care of. Honey greeted me and celebrated that I was a new customer. Since I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted in my mani/pedi, I asked for her advice and she gave the best. Tia gave me an Acrylic Overlay Full (short) and a Basic Pedicure that I am extremely pleased with. Oh, and Honey made me mango margaritas that were delicious! I gave it two tries before I wrote this review. First time (July 2022) was with a lady who is no longer an employee there. At first, the energy was a little off as I was signing in. It felt kind of mean girlish (the silent talking, eye cutting, smirks) but sometimes I overthink things, so I let it play out. She turned out to be very chatty and nice. My toes were not how I would've liked them to be as far as the paint job, though. She used this spray for quick dry, and literally sprayed my toes after each coat (clear and colored), Sometimes, forgetting she sprayed, and spraying twice. I usually sit there in the chair to dry for a while after, and I did this that time, too. She told me be careful because it takes like hour(s) to dry. I paid and left-carefully. Still smudged a little. But I fixed it. Later, I sat in the parking lot about 10 min, then went to brunch. Drove home (I stay like 50 min away) and took a nap on the couch. Toes were STILL very wet and they smudged. I've never experienced this before, and without all of that extra "dry" time. ---- 2nd time I waited for 20+ min for my appointment with a different nail tech. Sweet lady. She was rough on my feet- heavy handed. I wasn't very comfortable. You know how you find yourself tensing up anticipating the next scrape when they are working with that cuticular tool?! That was me. Paint job was okay, but she did try to use that spray I mentioned before. (I left it in the notes for this appointment that I did not want this spray used). I reminded her. I'm not sure if that spray was the culprit of my toes being wetter than usual or not (it wouldn't seem like it would be) but I definitely didn't want to have the same issue as last time, and I didn't. Toes were just fine. Overall, --I like making appointments so I can get in and out on time. --I want to enjoy my pedicure and not have to watch the moves of the nail tech the full time. A black owned nail salon you say? Sign me up please! I have been following the salons IG for quite some time and finally had the opportunity to go yesterday evening. I made my appointment the night before with the nail tech of my choice. I decided to go with Janaia and I'm so happy I did! When I walked in I was immediately greeted by the owner and asked to fill out a form on what I wanted done. I went for a fill and a nail fix. Janaia was so sweet and VERY gentle. I love my nails! I didn't have enough time but they also do pedicures and have the matching gel/nail polishes as well. Due to COVID, they're taking it a step further and requiring masks, temperature checks and washing of hands before all services. Which is great with "Omarion" running around! The vibe of this salon is so laid back and welcoming. I love that the interior is intimate. I felt like I was chatting it up with my homegirls during my pedi. My service wasn't rushed at all and they made sure i got the exact color I was looking for. My partner has terrible feet and they took great care of him and didn't make him feel bad about it at all. My review of Honeydipp Nails I'm going to start this post firstly by saying Honey is a sweetheart. Her heart is always in a good place and I know she means well. With that being said, I'm going to tell my experiences with her establishment and services provided. I'll also start off by saying, each time I drive at least 30 minutes to make it to this place ON TIME. The first time I went there a male tech that no longer works there did my nails. It was terrible. I had to come back 5 days later because my nails were the equivalent of 2 weeks growth. Grant it, when I came back Honey didn't charge for the fill but that was my first impression of the place. The next time I came another tech did my nails and I was satisfied. Unfortunately she's no longer an employee of Honey's. So sad to say, that was the absolutely ONLY time I was satisfied with my services. The third time I went to get my nails done by Honey herself. Just a pedicure with gel and a fill...I set an appointment for 6pm with Honey. I did not leave the salon until 12 mindnight and all she had done was my feet. She asked that I come back the next day...why was I there 6hours? I was later informed that my appt was "squeezed in" grant it, Honey did try to accommodate with lunch, drinks etc but having someone in your salon for 6 hours is horrendous. By this time, I swore I wouldn't go back but I tried one more time because let's face it. Our people don't get chance after chance like other places do. So this time, I set a 9am appointment with Honey to do my nails and feet. I arrived at 9am and Honey was nowhere to be found. She requested another tech "prep" me for her. Honey arrived 30 minutes, with a sonic cup in hand, late, for our appointment. No apology, no discount, no Nothing. Mind you, Honey has my phone number and I set this appointment thru text...the tech who prepped my nails for Honey did not make sure the false nails reached end to end of my nail bed. I noticed this and I didn't go to cosmetology school but when Honey noticed it she did nothing about it. She continued to lay acrylic over it and as a result my nails turned out terrible. The shape of my nails were all different and messy. The job was rushed because whoever set their appt after mine was waiting. There was gel paint left on my cuticles and to say the least I was extremely unhappy. I didn't confront her in the shop because I didn't want to cause a scene and by that time it was 12:30. My feet were done and I was ready to go. So I sent her a text to explain my review for the day and she promptly text me at 5:21pm stating she will call me to discuss my displeasure with her services. She text me later that night at 9:03 pm asking if I was free to talk. I text her back at 9:04pm stating "yes I'm free". And she never called me. The next day at 10:30am i receive a text from her but at this point my time has been disrespected and disregarded too many times. I will not be returning to Honeydipp nails. It's sad because this establishment had so much potential. read more

Honey the owner gets up 50 times to do other things than to focus on her customer in the chair. The atmosphere and environment was clean, organized, and soothing...this is something I require when looking for any spa services...without them, it's a deal-breaker. This was the absolute worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon. The tech didn't know how to do nails. All she had to do was say she didn't know how to do it. I was there for three hours!!! And my nails looked terrible. They only gave me a 15% discount. Honey was nice, but her workers were not, and I just expected so much more. I'm highly disappointed. I visited Honey Dipp Nails on Saturday, June 25th at about 10 am or not long past that. When I came in, I wasn't immediately greeted and waited about 15-20 minutes before being recognized. After speaking with the owner, we agreed that it'd be too busy and we set an appointment for me to come back later at 5:30 PM. The owner sent a confirmation text for a time of 6:00 PM, which wasn't the agreed upon time. Anyway, I get there right before 6:00 PM and I wasn't put into a chair until 6:50 PM. I didn't leave the salon until 8:15 PM, and that's only after getting a pedicure. I originally came in for a full set and pedicure but I had another engagement and couldn't stay additional time. My chief complaint is the fact that my time wasn't respected and there was disorganization and confusion. Not to mention, for the price I paid, the work could have been better. Perhaps for the majority of folks it was. This, however, wasn't my experience. Still, wishing the owner and her salon much success in the hereafter. read more

I was not going to write a review, but every time I look at my hands, I get upset. Let me start off by saying the technicians were very kind and knowledgeable about their product. But the final result of my nails were AWEFUL, my nail bed and the skin around the nail was so cut up and painful. The shape was awful because my technician was so afraid of continually hurting me she stopped shaping my nails. The application of the overlay dip was not put on evenly, some parts of the nail was saturated with color but the other was very light. I thought all of that was bad until I went to the counter to pay and was shocked at the price for a set of the worst nails I have ever received. I noticed when I got home that my thumb nails looked like the top coat did not cure under the UV light. I went back to have it fixed, I waited for over 30 minutes for someone to swipe one layer of polish on my thumbs and let me sit under a light for 1 minute. Since no one ever came to assist me I left. I could not immediately go to another salon to have the nails removed because I was so cut up it would have burned too much. I really wanted to support this black owned business, but I will not be going back and will not recommend the shop to my friends and neighbors. read more
