Been coming here for quite some time and this will be the last time. I went in to have new dip nails. After soaking, she performed the typical grind, cleaning off the old. Then she immediately started in on the new application. I stopped her and said wait, aren't you going to do my cuticles (I had been 5 weeks and needed the cuticles brought down). She said, "oh, I'll get them at the end." Yes, I should have left at that point but I was tired and just thought oh, well. She did try at the end of the session to bring the cuticles down but it was absolutely pathetic and of course, the nail dip had not gone as far as it would have if the cuticles were pushed back and trimmed to start off with. During the application process, she continually told me to watch the dogs on the tv, that it would help me relax. My mind was on the color of the powder and I was puzzled on how it was going to come out a coral color -thus I was looking at my hands. When I lifted a hand to stare at it, she said that it would be alright that she wasn't finished yet. I do know that the color pops when they apply the liquid coat but I was baffled by how "white" it was. In hindsight maybe she meant the smoothness of the nail was going to change. IDK. In the end, the nail color was a light pink and not the coral color, 094, that I had selected. When I complained to my manicurist she said that I like light colors and it looks good on me....that I can change it in a couple of weeks. I complained, I showed three people the book. I was told colors and numbers vary every time they get new inventory. I was told the colors don't match the numbers. I went and got the book and showed them that it is not just a dye lot variation that it is a completely different color. I suggested they mark that one out so no one else encounters this. Nope, they would not do it. I asked why they bother to have the client select the color then. I asked where their disclaimer is posted so the client knows to expect this. I was told it was my fault and that I should ask for them to create a sample nail in the future. Well, there will be no future for me and Castle Nails and Spa. I have never had this happen before, anywhere! It is their blaming me then the lack of responsibility that made me so angry that I won't return. Correcting the book by crossing out 094 would have been responsibility. Offering a discount on the present or a future service would have been responsibility. The manicurist finally apologized and offered to redo my nails right then. I was the last client of the day and was exhausted from a recent surgery and declined. I waited a week to write this review...yep, still not going back there. read more

I've been going here for 8ish years and i. The past year the service has really hit a low and the prices have hit a high. The pedicures are pretty good when you pick a pricier one, and some (not all) the techs do a pretty good job on nexgen. However....do not ask for a basic anything or a manicure. They will do the most lackluster job not caring what it looks like, rush you out, not check on you as you dry, offer anything more. I felt as though I was offending them asking for a manicure. I will never go back and I am definitely letting everyone I know to avoid them as well. Do not dismiss and be rude to customers and expect to run a successful business. I am disappointed to have to give this review as I have been going here for years to get my nails done. Specifically since 2020, I haven't been to any other place. Something has changed. The entire "air" at the salon is not friendly. Where is the friendly staff who used to greet me with a "Hello" when I entered. The main reason I won't return is the experience of the staff. A young lady gave me my pedicure this evening, and if I'm not mistaken, this might have been her first. My basic pedicure took over an hour, she cut one of my toes very short, and her technique was any thing but relaxing. I'll be watching to make sure I don't end up with an ingrown nail since she cut them very, very short. read more

I've been coming to this nail salon pretty much since it opened. And first of all, I want to say that Kay and Anna are great as well as a couple other ladies who've done great job on my nails. Kevin most the time alright, but also seems like he does not like his job often seems "put out" However, I will NOT be returning. I had a few nails I need to get fixed today, and lately, there has been some turn of management of some sort, and the energy is different. The management is often "put out attitude" but this place is convenient to my home so I continue to come back. That ends today. The one star review is specifically for Nancy. Yes Nancy. Nancy literally got onto me like I was a toddler in front of the entire front lobby because I had something on my phone and my hand accidentally slipped and something fell off the counter. She raised her voice and says."BE careful that's fancy! you need to be careful!!" it was extremely rude. I apologized and told her it was an accident, and she just looked more put out and rolled her eyes. I asked what is her name and she said "why do you need to know my name?!?" None of their tabletop surfaces seem clean. The lamps, and general surrounding and massage chairs dirty or always look like there's stains on everything. Does anyone clean after closing? Only a handful of good techs there. Sad to leave this review for them as I know they are working hard. Colors old and dry or thinned out. This is still my favorite nail salon in DFW! I have had so many great nail techs, but I'd have to say Cindy and Kay are my favorite! Haylynn is good too (spelling?). First time I came for a pedicure it was ok, 3/5. This second time was awful. Guy cut my toe with the drill (no apology), nails are crooked, didn't cut them down and round like I asked, polish is crooked, definitely did not do the heel treatment or massage even though I paid for the deluxe. The only reason I'm complaining on yelp vs in store is because I was the last one there and unfortunately was on the phone with my mom 80% of the time (small family emergency). The guy behind the counter told the tech to charge me $5 for a tip that popped off since it was outside their 10-day period. I told him it wasn't and he proceeded to argue with me. One view of my nails would show it was a relatively recent job. Rather than making a scene in the store, I called from my car. He hung up on me when I asked for his name and the owner's name and number. I called back and again he refused to provide this information. He even identified himself as the owner and I know he's not. Although I know others who have experienced rude behavior from this salon, I continued to patronize the salon since week one of its opening approximately 13 years ago. NO MORE! To the Owners: Why do you choose to be represented by someone who clearly lacks the knowledge of good customer service, is disrespectful to your customers, and is honestly a turn-off to customers? Okay I showed the nail tech the picture of the nails I wanted. I specified I wanted the white. We understood each other. As we get further in, I noticed they aren't how I wanted them. I asked her to make the shape thinner, she says she can't because each size is different. So then she asks me if I like them... I tell her I do not. She asked me why, I told her exactly what I did not like. I asked to speak with the manager. I explained I showed the picture of what I wanted and how it wasn't similar. The lady offered to redo them but of course we know how that goes. The manger says if I don't like them then she has to cut them, I think she would I was trying to get a free set until I said okay cut them. She then realized I wasn't bluffing. I've been coming here for 3 years. The staff, ambiance, service, and availability of beverages during your appointment are absolutely top notch. The ladies are wonderful and personable. They are also FAST. The only criticism I have is certain areas of cleanliness. I'm maybe a little too observant and notice where months worth of dust has settled on the curtains and other surfaces. I would love to see customers asked to wash their hands first, cuticle clippers etc. opened in single use packaging in front of me rather than hoping that the pair being used on me were sanitized between uses. This is even more important with COVID. I recently "cheated" on Castle Nails with a nearby, new nail salon and they got top marks for cleanliness, but had horrible service (I was there for 3 hours!). So Castle is still my preferred salon, but they need to realize that they will lose customers unless cleanliness and sanitation becomes a priority. read more

Came here for the first time to get gel nails. I do not recommend this place. Please save money and try somewhere else. Cost : $36 so plus tip will be well over $40. NexGen was $38. It is very costly compared to other places. Experience: very spacious and the ambience is great. I chose a color and the nail technician brought out a different color. I chose another color and she brought out a totally different color. She admitted that she didn't know where my color was and that the numbers weren't matching up with the displays. I had to choose a color I didn't want but I was okay with that. The nail technician finished in a timely manner and once I left that's when I realized I have paid too much. My cuticles weren't properly taken care of. The color started peeling the next day. The only reason I give it one star is due to the fact that I chose a cute color. You will, hands down, find another place nearby with better quality and good pricing. Best of luck! read more

Eek! Service so bad that I am sitting here reviewing it while still finishing up. Came in for mani/pedis with my mom and it was literally one of the worst experiences ever. Explaining 4+ times to square off my nails should not require me to literally have to explain it to the nail tech. If you don't know this basic information, you should not carry a license. Each time I asked, her attitude seemed to get worse but if I'm paying for a service, I expect at least the bare minimum but this was so far below the bare minimum, that it's ridiculous. Most lackadaisical worthless pedicure, no pressure for the massage - not even rubbing hard enough to rub the lotion in, and total waste of money. Did not massage for the full time or do the steps outlined for the level of pedicure that I paid for. In not wanting to create a scene I didn't say anything. Place is dirty and not as nice as it was, I haven't been back in a few years and today cemented why. Won't be back. Ever. read more

The service and quality is terrible. Expect your mail to break and chip within a week. Manager has no knowledge of conflict resolution. I have given this place numerous chances, they disappoint each time. Normally don't take the time to write reviews but this place is absolutely awful. A previous incident I had was when a pedicure lady clipped my toe skin so deep I bled the whole time getting a pedicure. It would not stop bleeding. Then the next time I still decided to give them another chance I brought a friend, her nail broke the next day. I brought the same friend and this time she got gel instead of acrylic, gel chipped off. I still came back again and this time it's just the final straw. My pink and white set broke within a week. The first time I came here my nails turned out great! They lasted almost 3 weeks, they were the right shape, right length. I went back today and was sat down pretty quickly, he started doing my nails and everything was fine. He asked me what length i wanted and i told him, and he cut the first one the correct length and then cut all the other ones as short as they could get. I then said they're shorter than i wanted them and i was told "it's too late now" and that they'd grow eventually. They weren't too busy but he was hurrying through and towards the end another girl took over what he was doing and he walked away. I've been coming to this salon for a couple of years now. The nail tech I used to always make an appointment with moved away a while ago now. Each time I've come back I've gotten my Nexgen set with a different nail tech looking for anyone one I loved. I've finally found her! *Go see Nancy!!* She took her time, filed and buffed my nails down symmetrically. If you're committed to fake nails and want a great shape, Nancy is your girl! I asked her how long she has been working at this salon- she told me about 2 months. I'm so ecstatic to have found another nail technician I am extremely satisfied with. For my pedicure, I had Van. She did an amazing job as well. Great massage, great cut/file/shape on my toes. I'm looking forward to coming back to the fantastic service they both gave me! I should've known from the first trip to this salon I shouldn't have gone back. This is the fourth time my nails have turned out almost the exact same. Uneven, not shaped evenly. They're bumpy and thick. One nail popped off as they were painting them. My thumb nail already feels like it's coming off. the guy at the front was being disrespectful and dragging me to sit down and put my hands in warm water. 15 minutes later the lady came and tried to put the machine on my hands but I asked if they could not do that because it would put a dent in my nail, so what the lady did was stand up and walk away saying words. Then someone came up to me and said the lady does not want to do it. the reason they want to do the machine is so it's faster and I don't want to ruin my nails so I just left because the lady did not want to do my nails. last time I went there they messed up my nails and I had to pay $60 and i was not able to get a refund so later that day I removed the nails. It's hard finding a good nail shop in the area simply because most are what I like to call "pedicure shops" however I just happen to stop in for a Nexgen set and I've been hooked every since. The place is very nice, the nail stations are nice they even have hooks for your purse, they have tons of colors not just dipping powder but gel and regular polish. I love the fact that there are stations up front for nail only services and the pedicure chairs are in the back of the salon. They serve drinks of all kinds and the receptionist will keep you entertained your entire visit. I normally get my nails and a pedicure, Ana (my fav) takes great care of my nails, she truly soaks the powder off and doesn't go overboard with the drill (If she's not available chances are I'll wait) !!! I'm sure others are equally as good but Ana ALWAYS produces the results I'm looking for. The pedicures are AMAZING especially the massage, OMG the massage. I will say they are a little pricey but in my opinion it's well worth it. I've read reviews that the manager and receptionist are both rude but I've never encountered any issues with either of them while there. I recommend this place, I'm hooked. read more

I went in a couple weeks ago to get ombré on my nails. iThese do not look like ombré...they look like pink and white French tip. It was close to closing time and I did not want to make my nail technician start all over again. So, I went in the next day and told her I honestly did not like them because they are not what I asked for. So instead I did a nude color on my nails this time and once she was finished she was like "okay I'm only going to charge you $30 not $38 since it was your fault not my fault". First of all, that is HORRIBLE customer service and secondly if she didn't do what I asked for then it's her fault not mine. I asked for a spa pedicure & he charged me a classic...$6 difference not much but don't try to play others $.. 2nd.. gel is extra $20! 3rd I got short short nails which they tried to charge AN EXTRA $5 BECAUSE THEY WERE "medium long"!! I was not about to pay an extra $5 for short nails... I paid $57 for uneven nails... $93 was my total n was so not worth it . If you can go elsewhere I would most definitely run! Having the WORST pedicure ever. First of all, I'm seated in a chair with NO WATER, this place is packed so it's ok. Until, another person is seated AFTER me and they find the time turn on the hot water. :-/ Then the Mgr comes over and literally throws a plastic bag in the foot bin, that of course unravels during the pedicure, YUCK. Last time I went here, they were so very rude. Never came back. It's very pricey here and they do the bare minimum. They make the nails too thin. I didn't expect for them to charge me over $100. When I didn't want to leave a tip, they started to make a whole scene about it. They were loud saying "why no tip?!" Everybody heard, it was so embarrassing. I come to Castle Nails and Spa every time I get my nails done and I get the same thing every time -- NexGen with tips. I'm always so happy with the result as they do an amazing job every single time. The total cost is $43 for what I get, but I tip well so my total was $52. I had Kelly do my nails yesterday for my high school graduation this morning and they turned out absolutely perfect!!! I am not happy to have to give a bad review, but i've been going here to get pedicures for years and everything was wonderful until my last visit. Hopefully, they will be reminded that the customer keeps them in business. First of all, the previous couple of visits, I had been feeling that the nail techs were being kinda pushy and cold, unlike my previous experiences. This time I brought a new person with me, and she texted me while she was there that the people were being very pushy with her. Also, there was a discrepancy with a price quoted, so as I was leaving, I spoke with a small woman at the desk, and she got IMMEDIATELY defensive and started talking over me saying, "NO, NO!!!" I stopped talking and waited for her to stop. Then I said, "Let me explain something to you about customer servicer that you need to know for the future. You don't seem to understand that by you saying 'no, no', you are calling me a liar, and you cannot tell me about the experience that I had especially when you were not present." Then I asked to talk to the OWNER-Kevin, and she said she and her sister are the owners. I believe it was a lie, but even if it wasn't, she'd better learn that there is a way to treat customers that you want to KEEP as customers and then there is another way when you don't care about losing your business. Whoever she was, she lost 3 customers for no good reason, and I will NEVER recommend them to anyone. Kevin was always great and gracious. They need to get him back up there. read more
