Sophie is simply the best! I moved to McKinney a year ago and have tried MANY nail salons to find they do a decent job the first time and then are horrible thereafter. Sophie pays attention to detail, her product stays on and she is the best I've had in all the years of getting my nails done (15). If you are looking for someone who takes their time, cares about your nails and is truly the best then book your appointment with her. You won't regret it.

Crooked nails and color is not smooth nor consistent on the nails.

I chose visit this nail salon based on the reviews. I have done my nails ever since I was a young girl but as I have gotten older it is harder to do them and I needed to find a professional nail salon. However, I did not have a good experience. Usually when you leave a salon you feel better than when you went in. It was not so for this place. When I looked on Yelp and on other websites I realized all the reviews are old. Some of them are seven or eight years old. They are also from a different location in a different town. Therefore, I thought I should write a review about my experience. Even from the time I walked in, Sophia was not very friendly and not understanding about it being my first time in a salon to have my nails done. I did not feel welcome. She accused me of not knowing what I wanted done and changing my mind. She was clearly annoyed by me. However, every review talked about how sweet, talkative, and kind she was to them. She was none of those things to me even though I tried to ask questions in order to get to know her and the salon. I had every intention of making this my new nail salon. I instead got the impression that she didn't need me or want me as a customer. Maybe she felt like she has enough customers. Even though I have done my own nails for decades and understood the terminology, she and I seemed to have a communication problem. I think she just chose to ignore what I asked for and wanted instead to do what she wanted. I think part of the problem was because she didn't have a lot of nail supply variety and nail color. I don't understand how we had a communication problem because we texted back and forth together the night before my appointment. When she answered my text she seemed to understand what I wanted. I had to explain to her that I had never had my nails professionally done. I also took in a picture of what I wanted her to do to my nails. Since I had explained to her exactly what I wanted done and also had a picture, she should have known before hand if I needed a longer appointment time. (My nails were for a wedding). However, when I got in there she acted like I was the one not understanding her and not being clear about what I wanted. She also accused me of changing what I wanted. Since most of these reviews talk about how kind and friendly she is, that is what I was expecting. She is now in The Colony, in a salon, from what I gather that is much smaller than the old one. She also has a very small offering of nail colors, and the quality of some of them is old and they have deteriorated. I was disappointed because the pictures showed a lot of paint colors and when I got there it was a very small sample. None of the pictures online matched the current location. She did a fairly decent job on my nails, although one was extremely crooked and they were longer than what I asked for and wanted. I wanted a design painted on my ring finger and she did a nice job on it. Although, she charged me a lot for it. Just for a manicure, it cost me $92. When it was my time to pay, my debit card would not work, and she chewed me out because I did not have enough cash in my wallet. I had to call my husband and have him bring me some money. I tried his debit card and it did not work. I find this a little suspicious because both of our cards worked before and after leaving her salon. While I sat out in the hall waiting for my husband to bring cash, I watched her talk badly about me to the next customer. I left her about a 30% tip which I would not I have done except before she tried to run my card I told her the tip amount. I especially loved it when I watched her talk about me, while pointing at me through the window, to her next customer. After these events, I decided to visit the number two rated salon in The Colony the next time I wanted my nails done for comparison. I was treated much better and also my nails were done better as well. I had this salon repeat what Sophia had done and they did a better job. Sophia's products were old and the color was not the same color same from nail to nail. Even in the same nail the color was not nice and smooth. The other salon also match the picture better. They also had much better technique! I was concerned by the way Sophia was doing my nails that I would wind up with a fungal infection. I was happier with my second salon choice's experience than I was with my visit to sophisticated nails. I will not go back. Customer service is important. The nail salon I go to now in Colony has a excellent customer service. Maybe Sophia treats her old customers well, and better than she treats newer customers. I do not recommend seeing her. I don't even understand somebody can be the owner, sole worker, and treat the customers in such a manner. it is not good for business!

After doing some lengthy research on nail techs in frisco, I came across Sophia's page. Between the beautiful pictures and well praised reviews, I had to book an appointment for myself. I was able to message her through Facebook and she was an absolute doll. She responds relatively quickly and tries her best to fit you in. She'll come in early and stay late to accommodate you. I had a full set (with tips) removed, and got new tips and a full nexgen set put back on and was able to be in and out of there in less than an hour and a half. She charged me $50 which is not the cheapest, but her attention to detail makes it 100% worth it. I am very picky with how my nails are done and I can easily say she did an excellent job. She has a wide range of colors to choose from, so there's no doubt she'll have your shade. I will definitely be recommending her to friends and seeing her again.

She gave me exactly what I was asking for! Love her! Totally recommend coming to get your nails done with Sophia. I will definitely be back in the near future for my next set!!

Amazing! I found Sophia here on Yelp thanks to everyone's reviews and I'm so happy about it. She knows what she does. It's fast, clean, beautiful. Whether you want a regular mani/pedi or a gel one, you will get a good result. It was my first visit and i will keep going. Keep in mind, she doesn't work on weekends.

Sophia is AWESOME!!! All I can say is A+ customer service!!! I requested an appointment a few days in advance of my flight to DC. She was fully booked but opened extra early at 06:30am just to accommodate me. I haven't experienced that level of customer service in a while! She was so sweet and took her time on my nails. I never felt like she was rushing through the process. To the contrary she was very meticulous and detailed. What a great experience and my nails came out beautiful. I will definitely be returning! Absolutely LOVE Sophia! Found her on Yelp when searching for someone near me to do my pedicure. I arrived in Dallas in Jan 2016 and have been going to her ever since. She is absolutely meticulous and her area and tools are very stationary. Sophia is so sweet, scheduling appts via text, and often working until 9pm and on Mondays to accommodate her clients' busy schedules. When I first started seeing Sophia I would just get a regular polish, but I noticed she can do designs and challenged her to so some pretty cool stuff on my toes. Even if she's never done it before, Sophia never shies away from a challenge willing to try any design I send her and she has yet to disappoint. Highly recommend Sophia for anyone looking for a wonderful pedicure and a HOT style!

I got my pedicure by sophia and she was AMAZING!! The best massage( even I got a basic just $25) and she took care of me despite closing early. Sophia didn't mind to stay late for me . Even though she has never come cross rushing or anything. I also got a gel manicure with her too. Her salon is Super clean and exactly how I wanted it. Sofia does an amazing job and is one of the sweetest people I know. She's been doing my pedicures for years. I'm very picky so I don't like to just go anywhere. I go to her because she's one on one, she has a suite in a salon. She really takes great care and you really feel good afterwards. I was scared to get my nails done because of the virus but I felt comfortable going to her. There's no other people in the room, it's impeccably clean, there's plexiglass dividers, she wears a mask and you wear one too. I just moved her and have been searching for someone to get my nails done. I came across Sophia's Salon. So I texted her to make the appointment and I met Sophia today for my first time and I did really like her and her work. She did a very great job on my hand, and my brown wax. I love her and the salon! It's a stall inside a building near Stonebriar Mall. Pros - she saw me at the time of my appointment, no waiting. - shes open as early as 730am - shes the only one there and you get personal time - she takes her time - did an awesome job - several color options Cons - pricey but you get what you pay for so shes so worth it - hard to get in but it's because of the times I want and I always call last minute. She's good that's why it's hard to get in. Will be coming here from now on read more

Quality of work done is poor. The day after my nails were done it chipped. Went in to fix the next day, Sophia said the fault was with my nails, she had warned, it was because my nails were weak after nextgen(I did a shellac), etc etc.. She went defensive. Finally she said "lets agree to disagree" and redid my nails to nextgen (mumbling all along). I felt bad in the whole process, and decided to pay up. She refused to take a penny (then why mumble :-( I walked out tipping her $20. Now here's why I am posting this, in just another 2 days nextgen started to chip off too!! All in all I paid about $60 for manicure that lasted me exactly a week. This is not the first time I am doing a manicure. The quality of her products are probably not the best. She is also an one man army so she tends to rush in the evening hrs (when she is busy most times). I initially thought the shellac she did the first time chipped because she rushed (she had another customer waiting for 10 mins although mine was done by appointment) but the fact that the second redo (nextgen) also chipped makes me conclude that the quality of products is not good. Im giving her 2 stars because the pedicure she did is still on.. (that was also rushed with very minimal massage) read more

Everyone is right about Sophia! She's indeed a terrific gal! Had a Gel Manicure done and she did a awesome job and NO BUMPS after applying the Gel polish. She also did a great job on my cuticles, no cuts at all. Her shop is very speculative clean and pleasant. I made my next appointment with her for another Gel Manicure and Full Facial Wax. Sophia is the best nail tech I've ever used! The quality of her manicures and pedicures is light years better than you'd get in a regular nail salon but her prices aren't crazy. I love that her salon is just hers - all the bells and whistles of a full salon but more professional and personalized. She is very detail oriented, friendly and has a gentle touch. She has an artistic eye & you can tell she takes a lot of pride in her work. My nails always turn out cute and have become super healthy, too. I've been going to see her about 2 months now and have only had great experiences. Highly recommend! read more

Sophia is the best nail designer ever in Plano!!! I have been with her for more than a year, she was in Lewisville before and just moved to Plano close to Stonebriar mall, but it never stopped me to follow her as her good customer service and professional skills. Sophi is SO METICULOUS. I am very detail oriented and can always find one nail that is uneven or a spot that isn't perfect. Not with Sophi. My nails are PERFECT. Her prices are comparable but the quality is impeccable. If you are anal about your manicures, this is the place to go. read more

60 day update..Sophie is still awesome as ever. She is very meticulously about her work. I got a full set with ombre in which she handcrafted the ombre on her own with a brush..no dipping your finger in powder as i previously experienced from another salon. Sophia is wonderful. She's been doing my nails for 4, almost 5 years now. She does such an amazing job on my gel manicures, pedicures and eyebrow wax every time. She has a great attitude and she's always smiling. I usually let her pick my colors! Not to mention she has a great selection of gel colors. The atmosphere is calm, and everyone I interacted with was incredibly friendly and kind, which I really appreciated. I had a young man as my nail tech, and while he was very sweet and clearly trying his best, I think he may need a bit more training, especially with dip powder. I came in with a few dip nails lifting and had to cut them super short. I asked for very short oval or almond-shaped nails, showed reference photos, and politely explained what I was hoping for. However, I had to repeat a few things multiple times, including wanting all my nails the same short length. In the end, the shape came out round, not quite what I asked for, which was disappointing. The appointment took from 12 to 3 PM, and after sitting for so long, my back was in pain. I had to keep shifting and eventually asked to move to a different chair, which they were kind enough to allow, though I wish someone had checked in earlier to make sure I was comfortable. There was also a mix-up with the top coat. When he applied it, it stayed gummy, and the manager or owner had to step in and completely redo the dip, taking time away from another customer. I felt really bad about that. Even after the fix, the final product unfortunately wasn't up to par. It's now only been a week, and the dip is already lifting and catching in my hair, when normally it lasts me three weeks. As for my pedicure, the woman who worked on my toes was great, also very nice and gentle. But again, I had to politely repeat my preferences for shape and length a couple of times before it was right. All in all, the people here are lovely, the salon is immaculate, and there's a lot to appreciate. But from my experience, I'd say there's still room for improvement in technique and customer comfort during long appointments. I also found the price to be a bit higher than expected, especially given the quality and longevity of the dip. I truly hope the young tech gets the training and support he needs. He has a great attitude and demeanor, which is a solid foundation. I'd love to return in the future once they've had a bit more experience under their belt.

My pedicure was fabulous , I got a basic pedicure with callous removal, sea salt , and dry my feet with hot towels just only $25 ..can't beat that . It's the best pedicure ever . I just got a gel manicure from Sophia! I don't think i could ever go to anyone else again, I have never had a manicure as perfect as the one she did.
