    Pork bone soup
    Its F.

Came here on a cold winter weeknight and it was such a lovely spot for comfort korean food.

Dined in for lunch on Saturday. The restaurant was full house when we got there around 12:30. We ordered Seafood pancake, Bulgogi and Soft tofu soup. Service was a bit slow as it was full house. The portion of the dishes were big - we barely finished 2 dishes out of the 3 dishes. Seafood pancake was much thicker than usual Koren pancakes but crispy and not saggy. There were many ingredients in it. I really liked the pancake. Bulgogi was tasty but nothing special. Soft tofu soup had good seafood flavor but a bit too salty. Free side dishes were delicious. 5 free side dishes came in one plate. They allow one free refill. I liked eggplant and tteokbokki. The bill came to over 90 dollars after taxes and tips which is a bit on a higher side for a Korean restaurant.

That Pork Bone Soup is the best I've ever had! I'm not a huge fan of spicy food, but this one is a must-eat! Plus, I've tried more than 5 different Korean Restaurants, their Pork Bone Soup and Pork Cutlet, don't come close to Makkal Chon! I used to live in the area a decade ago, and I live an hour away from this amazing restaurant. But it's worth it! 10/10!!!! The staff was also really friendly and very efficient. 10/10

Came a couple times now. Parking lot's a bit busy, and the restaurant isn't big, but haven't had trouble getting seated quickly. Service is good and their soup/stew options are great. On this visit, ordered Kimchi Jjim, Bibimbap, and a Gamjatang. And they give a small platter of banchan, this time with tteokbokki, japchae, eggplant, lotus root and kimchi. Everything was very tasty. Like a lot of Korean food, can get spicy if you're not good with it. I especially liked the Gamjatang soup flavour and the banchan. Price is reasonable. Will come back again for sure.

I recently visited Makkal Chon after a long break, and my K-drama binge had me craving some Korean food! I went for the mixed spicy soft tofu soup (seafood, beef, and pork), and it arrived steaming hot. The flavor was spot on--not too spicy, just right. The banchan (side dishes) included five perfectly balanced items. Plus, my server was super friendly and courteous. Highly recommended!

Very friendly and efficient service. Really surprised that they were open on Canada Day. Pork bone soup came with 3 pieces of pork and it was so tender and juicy. The soup was very spicy though! The side dishes were amazing! One of the best I've had in awhile. Total came to about $20! Would come again if I"m in the area. Ambiance was nice!

Looking for some authentic Korean fare on sizzling plates? Makkal Chon is one of my favourite restaurants #whenhungerstrikes17. I usually order the veggie wrap combo which gives you choice of 2 sizzling plates, hot tofu soup and green lettuce, bok choy to wrap the delicious sizzling meat. I recommend ordering the pork belly and spicy pork. Yummy in my tummy. Service here is friendly, and they are real Korean people. Big plus! Hehe. Ambiance, decor very asian with lots of wood accented walls and some Korean music playing in the background. Love it all!!!

Hot pork bone soup. So good, so flavourful. Absolutely fantastic for wintertime!

Hot pork bone soup. So good, so flavourful. Absolutely fantastic for wintertime! Go early if you don't want to wait for a table. Easily have a line-up at night.

Decided to try this place after reading the reviews. Nice first impression. The place is clean and has a warm, simple decor. I came around 6:30pm on a Tuesday and it wasn't that busy, just 1 other table. I ordered the Pork Bone soup and was pleasantly surprised it came with complimentary sides and rice. Everything tasted delicious. Initially, I thought the portion of the soup looked a bit small, but I was stuffed by the end of the meal. My waitresses was nice and attentive. I will go back to try other dishes.

Quaint/small Korean family restaurant. When this place gets busy, it's not unusual to wait half an hour for seats. The wait is well worth it due to the quality. It is one of the finer Korean joints. Firstly due to the intensity of flavours, they don't skimp with seasonings. Secondly the volume of food, you won't be disappointed. Pork bone soup was extremely tender and fall off the bone. Kimchi tofu soup was intense and flavourful. Price point is higher than most Korean joints but well worth it due to quality of ingredients. Congrats to the owner for running such a great place. The only recommendation is to hire another bus-boy or server to clean tables to increase turnover.

First time back here since the pandemic and I must say the food quality and taste hasn't changed, which is great. I'm thankful for this hole in the wall in Scarborough for still thriving in these unprecedented times. The only thing I'm a little bit disappointed at is the fact that they are using takeout cutlery and takeout containers to serve their food. Took a picture of the menu as the prices on the site isn't accurate that way anyone going won't be surprised to see a discrepancy!

I did not think that Scarborough could do decent Korean and then I went to Makkal Chon. Man oh man! I had the spicy chicken wrap - good but spicy as the name says. Comes with a spicy sauce on the side as well if you're looking to crank up the heat. Lettuce to assemble, purple rice and chicken of course. Fun to assemble and even more fun to eat. The soup that comes with it is a fish and tofu one but it was way too spicy for me. Bibimbap was delicious, quite filling and another favorite. Alternatively, the bulgogi seemed a bit meager but I added the sauce and some spicy kimchi to boost the flavour. Overall, food was fresh, service was good, portions were decent, and we went on a weekday so it wasn't busy but I can see how it might fill up fast as there isn't much space.

This is a small Korean restaurant, probably seats around 8-9 4 seat tables. We came for Sunday lunch and had to wait for a few minutes for a table to clear up so it might be useful to come at slightly off hours to prevent We ordered the spicy chicken lettuce wraps, bulgogi lettuce wraps, pork bone soup and kimchi soup. They brought both water and tea to our table which I appreciated. The soups were absolutely delicious and the lettuce wraps were a nice break from the stews. It was A LOT of food and we were all extremely satisfied after finishing. The ambiance was cozy due to the wooden furniture and the restaurant felt bigger as one wall was fully lined with mirrors.

Hence we entered Jin Dai Lae. Good decision (yes, I am patting my back). Entree pricing was $3 to $4 lower than Markham/Richmond Hill. Portion was so big that you would be full, and might have to doggy bag. Most importantly, food tasted good. Short ribs stew had many pieces of beef. Squids hot plate was saucy. It wasn't too spicy, so it was good for me (menu didn't have a chilli sign either). For people who like it hot, you can ask for some chilli sauce.
