An interesting fusion of Mexican and Japanese cuisine. I personally preferred the dishes that skewed Mexican - especially the bulgogi tacos, though the karagge was killer too! Unfortunately they don't take reservations, so make sure to come early and get a spot on the waitlist.

The Haam was just okay for me. The menu looks fun and trendy, but the food didn't totally land. I tried a few dishes and while nothing was bad, nothing really stood out either. Portions felt a bit small for the price. Service was friendly and fast, especially for a weekend dinner.

I came here on a Sunday evening for an early dinner and the place was already full. They have a QR code at the entrance to sign up for the waitlist. They forgot to turn the waitlist on, so it was showing an error. The food is just ok. Tataki was bland - it looks great but wish I skipped it. Rainbow roll and ladybug rolls were decent but didn't satisfy my sushi craving. The soft shell crab taco was the best and worth it. I dropped a star due to service. The place gets busy because it's not a big restaurant and they pack so many tables that it feels too crowded. The waiters can't properly navigate through with plates in their hand. At the end of my dinner, the waitress dropped a big pile of ginger on me and the floor when she was removing the empty plate from the table next to us. I didn't get a sincere apology just an "oops."

The Haam is one of the coolest spots I've been to in Toronto. The place was packed when we arrived -- edgy, grungy vibe with exposed brick and walls covered in Japanese and Mexican art. You really feel the fusion before you even taste it. Totally worth the wait. Food highlights: * Yuzu Soda: Sweet, bubbly and minty fresh. Tasted like a lemon-lime soda crossed with a citrus mocktail. Super refreshing. * QUEEN Roll: Seared salmon, spicy tuna, avocado, cucumber, spicy and garlic mayo, tobiko. The garlic mayo brought everything together. Big, satisfying pieces. * Bulgogi Taco (Beef): Hands down my favorite. Rich, savoury beef with a tangy sweetness, loaded with guac, queso fresco, crema and chipotle mayo. Legit drool-worthy. * Gochujang Barbacoa Taco: Ancho-marinated brisket with mozzarella and cabbage pickle that gave it a slaw-like crunch. Loved the punch of marinade and cholula. We ordered three of each taco for the table -- perfect for sharing (or not). If you're into bold flavours, fusion dishes and an edgy atmosphere, The Haam is your spot. Highly recommend.

Food: We had vegetarian rolls and the samba roll was delicious. Lots of vegetarian options and they are all amazing. Our order was samba roll, house veggie roll and spicy chicken karage. Service: We visited this restaurant on a Friday evening and we had to wait for around 25 mins to get a table. I'd recommend to put your party on wait-list as soon as you can. The staff is friendly and made sure our party informed them of any allergies or preferences. Ambiance: This restaurant is right in the heart of downtown Toronto. This is a super cozy, trendy and fun vibe restaurant. Parking: There are a few green P parking spots around available. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant and I will back soon!

The lunch specials are very well priced. Everything was very tasty. The guacamole had large chunks of avocado mixed in which is my personal preference, and the miso soup was very large (not the typical small bowls you get at other restaurants). The nacho chips had a very small amount of spicy seasoning. The tacos were full of flavour and very saucey (you will need extra napkins). The salmon in the rolls were also of great quality! The bathrooms were well maintained and the service was fast. Will definitely be revisiting this restaurant!

I wasn't sure what to expect from a place selling sushi and tacos, since it seemed like a strange combo, but the food is great. I met friends for a late lunch on Saturday (since they didn't open until 3pm) and ordered one taco, one sushi roll, and beef gyoza. The Avo Kappa roll (cucumber and avocado) was exactly what it was supposed to be, light and simple. The Gochujang Barbacoa taco (shredded beef) was *delicious,* but I did wish the gochujang was much spicier. I felt it wasn't spicy at all, but that's probably to make it palatable for all types of eaters. The gyoza were the least impressive, they weren't bad but nothing special. They have a good selection of drinks and I got the Chum Churum Fresh soju. Get there early if you want to get a table right away. We were there right when it opened and it shortly filled up. The space is small inside, probably fewer than 10 tables, and they told us there was an hour and a half limit for the meal. That being said, service was prompt and friendly and we had a great dinner!

    Soft shelled crab tacos.

We came here with friends who absolutely love this place. Now we know why! The food here is fusion Korean and Mexican. What a concept. We had fish tacos, soft shelled crab tacos, shrimp and scallop ceviche, and edamame too. Everything was impressive in terms of presentation and portion. I would've preferred a bit more spice or kick but I didn't ask for additional sauces so I'm not sure if that's even an option. The rolls looked large and every table had a good variety of menu items. I already know what I'll be trying the next time! Be warned, there's always a line and they don't take reservations.

Great ambiance, was empty at 11:50 am on a Thursday. Got their $21 lunch special with bento box (salmon roll, side dish, taco). Friendly service, welcoming and efficient. Food was good, tasted fresh and was clearly made to order. However, it was very disappointing to get my food in a plastic single use container - in part I try to avoid take out to reduce waste, and for a dine in experience would have expected a more sustainable choice! Please make that change

This is my new favourite restaurant! The bulgolgi tacos were absolutely delicious and mouthwatering! Each bite was incredibly juicy and tender with the creaminess of the avocado balancing each bite. The gochujang tacos weren't my favourite as the meat had a bite to them and was a little dry but it wasn't too spicy (which I appreciated)! The hotate sushi roll was the most delicious menu item with a delicious sweet and savoury taste that just worked! The service was really well with friendly staff members that refill your water and napkins often. The ambience was perfect for a date night out or a chill and intimate lunch spot with friends. I loved the posters and fairy lights on the wall - it made it feel cozy. Their service is as

A M A Z I N G !!!!!! Wow! We had a phenomenal meal - order a couple of snacks to start while we checked out other orders - hip ambiance, great drinks- the food was outstanding! Service a bit slow but when they food is as delicious as theirs I can't count that against them!

I found it pretty mid. The vibes here are v nice esp for a date night. The staff were also very nice and considerate

I've been meaning to try the haam. The resto is pretty aesthetic with the signage and decor. The service was just okay, not good but not bad. For the food we ordered: Bulgogi beef taco - this came with 3 pieces and for some reason I thought it would've been more of an Asian inspired taco as in the shell is a deep fry nori. This was just okay, nothing special to be honest. Lobster grande roll -this one was really thick with so much rice, it tasted alright in my opinion but nothing too special. Spicy salmon pressed sushi - I liked this the most! I personally like Aburi sushi (torched) and the salmon basically melted in my mouth. The washroom is not wheelchair accessible and in fact, it's pretty slippery and I almost rolled down the stairs. Overall, I'm glad I tried this spot but not so sure if I'd come back again

There were three add-ons (toro with caviar $25, uni with caviar $35, and caviar sushi). I opted in for the toro and uni add-ons. It was strange they give you the add-ons before any other nigiri. Everything was very good and fresh. Standouts for me was the appetizer, all three cuts of bluefin tuna, the lobster (by far my favorite), and the hotaru ika. I would've appreciated knowing that the omakase included or not included toro and uni before I decided on the add-ons but I don't regret it. It was a splurge night after all. Service was very attentive. Note that the dining space is very small. 12 seats around the counter and two tables. There was a very loud gentleman two seats from me who never learned to use his inside voice and totally ruined vibe. But that's not on the staff. Another note is that gratuity is automatic on the bill.

It felt comfortable, not too loud, and easy to settle into for a slow dinner. We ordered a mix of small plates to share, and everything came out looking nicely put together. The aburi-style salmon sushi was one of the highlights for me.. lightly seared, with a soft texture and just enough flavor on top without being overwhelming. The tuna tataki was also fresh and clean, simple but well done.
