The most bang for your buck! The server filled my bowl with so much food she used aluminium foil to keep the lid and bowl together as it did not snap shut. When you order the beef bowl, you get so much more than you pay for. The first time I ordered this, I wasn't fully aware of everything that would be included in the bowl. So I watched the server add in item after item after item. I was surprised as each addition was dropped into my bowl! The inside is small, with a counter against the windows where 2/3 people might squeeze in. It's more of a takeout place. Yoon, the owner, and her helper, Barry, were very friendly and hard-working. We ordered the Special Combo for two ($24.95) which comes with a bowl of Gamjatang (pork bone soup), rice, and a serving of Japchae. We also ordered the Special Rice Cakes ($9.95). The soup came out boiling hot and was very meaty. The broth was quite oily, so we didn't sip it, but this could have been an off day. The Japchae was perfectly cooked, not too salty, and is one of our favorite dishes. This was also my first time trying Tteokbokki (spicy simmered rice cakes). I recently made a visit as it has been months since I had Korean food since the pandemic began. Although a few fellow Yelpers have complained about the rudeness of the owners, I had quite the friendly and warm conversation with the owner as she prepared my lunch box with galbi ribs, banchan (side dishes), gyoza and gamjatang broth. The kalbi ribs were perfectly seasoned and cooked to go nicely alongside the serving of rice. The banchan adds a variety of textures and flavours to balance out the greasiness you get from eating kalbi ribs. The broth on the side is pretty good for a side soup. For only $10.95, it's a great value for the portion and flavour you will get every time you visit 100% Korean. It's located in the plaza right next to the Tim Horton's/Wendy's. It's not really a restaurant but more of a takeout place, they do have indoor seating but it's essentially a counter with seating for 3 or 4 people. It's become my favourite place for Korean takeout during the covid pandemic. I normally order the beef lunch box special ($10.95 plus tax) which equates to bulgogi, rice, japchae (Korean glass noodle stir fry), some fried dumplings, an assortment of banchan (side dishes) and a piece of fruit. It also includes a small gamjatang soup (spicy pork bone soup). The bulgogi is pretty good, the banchan is pretty decent and not too salty but the standout is the japchae which is essentially Korean glass noodle stir fry. Perfectly seasoned and cooked and really silky without being oily. It's pretty good Korean comfort food and very reasonably priced considering the amount of food you get. Also, their food is pretty consistent in terms of quality, during the pandemic I noticed when you get takeout, for whatever reason, sometimes the food is hit or miss at quite a few places but at 100% Korean their food has always been pretty consistent and I go there about once a week for takeout. read more

This restaurant is only take out as they have closed off their dining area considering how small the restaurant is. Their menu offers a good selection of combos (where you definitely get a lot of food), classic dishes, plus you can even purchase just side dishes as well. We got their Gamjatang which was very flavourful, and had a nice kick to it, and their large Bibimbap. I note the difference between the small and large size was $1 only and they also had special rice cakes but I wasn't adventurous to try those. Upon opening my takeout box (it was a rectangular sized styrofoam container), I noticed there was a decent portion of rice cakes and sauce but there was only a small sliver of fish cakes placed as if it was garnish on top. The deal breaker was that there was no boiled egg. The food item I would normally save to eat at the very end. Perhaps the difference in size (small or large) is more accurately described as egg or no egg. I wish they gave me more tissues to dry my tears of disappointment. read more

They rush back and forth taking orders, cooking meat on the stove, mixing all the side dishes, cracking eggs, and ringing people up. We came on a Sunday afternoon around 1pm and they were just finishing a rush of orders. Wait patiently. The moment the cook is finished with her last order, she will look up and get your order. I had the big rice bowl with pork belly. Big is correct as the portions is huge and piled high. They don't even bother with a lid, just saran wrap it to keep everything in place. The big bowl comes with white short grain rice, cabbage, lettuce, yellow bean sprouts, little pieces of cut up sausages, japchae (glass noodles), yellow crispy noodles, seaweed, green onion and your protein of choice. Just in case that isn't enough, they stick two deep fried korean dumplings on the side for you. The portion was so large that I had half of it for lunch the next day. I got the short rib box and everything in it was so good - you get dumplings, noodles, veg and fruits, kimchi, potatoes and rice. It also came with a soup which was the one thing I wasn't a fan of but there was so much food I wouldn't have been able to finish it anyway. If you are looking for a decent quick bite at value pricing, 100% Korean is the place to be. Upon arrival the lady, I assume the owner, had zero expression. Tone of voice was neutral at best. I'd asked whether the spice level can be reduced for the gamjatang. The response was no since the broth had been pre-made which I totally understand. She did make a statement that even grandmothers can eat it (she never specified whether it was a Korean or a Canadian grandmother). That particularly day I wasn't up to eating things high on the spice scale so I opted for a bean paste soup instead to be safe. Her comments can definitely be seen as a bit of a slight. I chose to see the glass half full in this instance. What exactly do you expect service wise from takeout place anyway? I personally am a fan of their appetizers. You get to pick three out of many choices. The bean sprout and fish cake were on point. I loved the caramelized lotus roots (not many places would offer this side dish). They were sweet and savory and soft. Now the main event the bean paste soup. The first spoonful had a fermented taste to it. The richness can be enhanced a bit but I like the fact that it's not overly salty. Inside the soup was tofu, scallion, zucchini, clams, a typical frozen shrimp, broccoli. I'm torn on the broccoli since I think I want my dose of veggie but at the same time didn't feel like it was a stereotypical Korean ingredient. The shrimp was so so texture wise, and I wished that they would use one of those sweet salad shrimps instead. When I went to the cashier area to pay, I managed to get a smile from the owner. But who doesn't like money anyway? I'd recommend 100% Korean to you if all you are looking for is a no frills kind of place to eat or get take out. The owner is also very chatty and down to earth. Don't expect exceptional customer service from this place because this lady usually runs the place by herself without help. If you let them pick the toppings, they'll put more than if you choose 6 yourself. It also comes with 3 side dishes. The portion was big enough for myself and my husband, and we were both full. I have uploaded so many photos for this place it's about time i finally write a review. I have been a customer since it was a 2 person operation but as of late i only see the daughter and not the older gentleman. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are huge. It comes with 3 side dishes of your choice (the side dishes are smaller compared to other Korean restaurants but that is to keep costs low i think). I love their spicy pork belly on rice, kalbi, and pork bone soup. Their spicy crab soup is realy good but it is realllyy spicy and there isn't a lot of meat. I would consider it more like a very spicy broth. (For reference, i can stomach scotch bonnet hot sauce and i still think this is spicy!) I saw some comments about the owner being rude and i hope that yelpers can be empathetic towards a woman who is trying to run the whole show by herself, delivering great food while trying to keep costs reasonable for customers. I have seen customers walk out while she was making their order because their order took too long even though she told them it would take 20 minutes. Peak hours are lunch and dinner time especially on weekends so if you don't want to experience prolonged wait, order ahead by calling and try to order before or after the peak hours if possible. read more

The owners are super nice and accommodating. If you are eating in, you can pay after you finish your meal. This is a small place and ideally for take out. I ate in and there were only a few seats (4-5) so it can get cramped. However, it is a pretty quick turn-around. The food is cooked fresh and on the spot. The Beef Rice Bowl is generously portioned with rice, glass noodles, beef, egg, deep fried gyozas, seaweed and assorted vegetables. There are additional flavors from the sauces and it is very well put together. The pork bone soup was flavorful and the spice level was on point. The meat falls off the bones! Overall, I would recommend coming here for take out (especially the rice bowls). They allow you to pick the sides since they have a variety available! The portions are great for their price point.
