Cute little Korean spot on the corner of Steeles and Midland Avenue. There are parking spaces available, but weekends can be tricky. The inside is small, with a counter against the windows where 2/3 people might squeeze in. It's more of a takeout place. Yoon, the owner, and her helper, Barry, were very friendly and hard-working. We ordered the Special Combo for two ($24.95) which comes with a bowl of Gamjatang (pork bone soup), rice, and a serving of Japchae. We also ordered the Special Rice Cakes ($9.95). The soup came out boiling hot and was very meaty. The broth was quite oily, so we didn't sip it, but this could have been an off day. The Japchae was perfectly cooked, not too salty, and is one of our favorite dishes. This was also my first time trying Tteokbokki (spicy simmered rice cakes). I've seen this dish many times before, but thought they would be too spicy for me. Yoon made them less spicy, but my mouth was still on fire - lol! A good choice for takeout if you're in the area. Note: Visit was before dine-in restrictions
We got the beef rice bowl, short ribs on rice, and the special rice cakes. Everything was tasty and we loved the generous portion sizes! The beef rice bowl especially was stacked with beef and other toppings. When we went it was fairly busy and there was only one woman taking orders and doing all the cooking. She was very nice and friendly. Since it was only one woman working the wait time was quite long. Great spot for takeout. Expect a wait or go during less busy hours!
Great service and food was amazing experience and the ambiance was relaxing and welcoming! The meat was so tender and the soup had so much of a rich flavor!! Amazing!
This place still makes me so happy with the amount of side dishes. I love how they don't skimp out on anything and each meal looks so colourful. There's also SO MANY different side dishes!! I can't, I'm in love.
Got a chance to try out this Korean restaurant. Glad we came early as soon as we finish ordering, a lot of people came in to order . They do take out only since I didn't see any table/chairs for dine in. Got their lunch box special & the beef on rice (you choose 3 sides). Both were very delicious. Would certainly come back when I'm in the area as I would like to be try other items. The lady (owner?) do all the cooking (when we came at time of ordering) so you might need to wait but it's well worth it.
I am so glad I finally got to try this place out! I ordered the combo for two $26.95 which came with: - black bean noodles (udon) - bimbimbap - sweet and sour chicken - variety of side dishes I was amazed at how flavourful all the dishes were (and not too spicy) which is good for those that like Korean food more mild. I liked the variety of vegetables in the bimbimbap, and the hint of sweetness in the black bean noodles. The side dishes that came with the dishes were japchae, soy beans, potato salad, seaweed salad and dumplings. For the price and the amount of food you get, this Korean place is well worth it.
100 Percent Korean has made their mark in the local Toronto/Markham food scene with their take on comfort Korean favourites at reasonable prices. I recently made a visit as it has been months since I had Korean food since the pandemic began. Although a few fellow Yelpers have complained about the rudeness of the owners, I had quite the friendly and warm conversation with the owner as she prepared my lunch box with galbi ribs, banchan (side dishes), gyoza and gamjatang broth. The kalbi ribs were perfectly seasoned and cooked to go nicely alongside the serving of rice. The banchan adds a variety of textures and flavours to balance out the greasiness you get from eating kalbi ribs. The broth on the side is pretty good for a side soup. For only $10.95, it's a great value for the portion and flavour you will get every time you visit 100% Korean. Especially during these times, be friendly and amicable with the owners and they will show it back! Don't forget to call ahead, especially during peak lunch and dinner hours!
Me and my family often come here for authentic Korean food. The combos here are great to share and the service is really nice! The workers forgot to include rice from our combo and side dishes - we asked them about it and they kindly apologized and gave us what was missing. We ordered Combo #1 and #2. I really like the bibimbap - well portioned tasted great! One thing to note is the black bean udon noodles was missing a little flavour compared to what I'm used to.
I ordered kimchi chigae, and got a seafood soup. It was too sweet with a strong seafood flavor. It comes with one shrimp, two muscles, tofu and kimchi. The only decent thing was their japchae as a side dish. I will not be ordering from here again.
Very very good Korean take out. The prices are unbelievable for the quality and quantity of food you get. All the banchan are top notch. Pre-covid I would sit in and order the combos but nowadays I just get a lunch box to go. You get a choice of protein, rice, gyoza, egg, piece of fruit, and 6-7 banchan. All for $10.95!! (Oh and it comes with a pork bone soup broth). Everything has a very homey feel. Like eating at your aunt's who's a really good cook. The one thing I would say is that sometimes the wait can be long, but the place is run solo so understandable. This is a solid 4.5 spot that leans towards 5.
100% Korean is a small mom and pops Korean run and owned restaurant located just West of Steeles Ave E and Midland Ave in Scarborough, Ontario. It's located in the plaza right next to the Tim Horton's/Wendy's. It's not really a restaurant but more of a takeout place, they do have indoor seating but it's essentially a counter with seating for 3 or 4 people. It's become my favourite place for Korean takeout during the covid pandemic. I normally order the beef lunch box special ($10.95 plus tax) which equates to bulgogi, rice, japchae (Korean glass noodle stir fry), some fried dumplings, an assortment of banchan (side dishes) and a piece of fruit. It also includes a small gamjatang soup (spicy pork bone soup). The bulgogi is pretty good, the banchan is pretty decent and not too salty but the standout is the japchae which is essentially Korean glass noodle stir fry. Perfectly seasoned and cooked and really silky without being oily. It's pretty good Korean comfort food and very reasonably priced considering the amount of food you get. Also, their food is pretty consistent in terms of quality, during the pandemic I noticed when you get takeout, for whatever reason, sometimes the food is hit or miss at quite a few places but at 100% Korean their food has always been pretty consistent and I go there about once a week for takeout.
This is another great spot if you're looking to support locals and want authentic and delicious Korean dishes. This restaurant is only take out as they have closed off their dining area considering how small the restaurant is. The owner is very enthusiastic and friendly to all the customers I've seen, and you can tell how busy they are as they constantly have orders coming in. Their menu offers a good selection of combos (where you definitely get a lot of food), classic dishes, plus you can even purchase just side dishes as well. We got their Gamjatang which was very flavourful, and had a nice kick to it, and their large Bibimbap. Mind you, the Bibimbap was actually really big, so I'd recommend the small if you don't have a huge stomach. Both dishes were delicious (as we expect) and will come back again for more!
Taste: great, fresh, homemade dishes. felt like I went to an aunties house for dinner. we got the udon black bean noodles, beef bowl and tteokboki. black bean udon - flavor was good nothing crazy but it satisfied our cravings beef bowl - this was huge, super flavorful and has all the sides dishes you want on top too tteokboki - chewy, saucy, spicy and a bit sweet, yum! Service: the auntie that works there is super nice! something you can get quickly, just in and out! Presentation: portion sizes are really generous - they really piled it over. Its great for sharing as well. Value: totally worth for the portions they give you! Would recommend for you to go for a quick dinner or lunch! You'll feel satisfied!

Was very sad to learn that the owner had passed away (in his 90s, long life). His daughter is running things and her father would be proud. The standards have not been compromised one iota. This is the exact same food I lived on in Korea. Every mouthful took me back. It is a humble little place, not fancy or designer-ish. The focus is fresh, healthy, authentic Korean food. REAL Korean food. read more

I was so so excited to try this place. Been craving Korean food for the past month and thought I'd give his a shot. Not my best idea. I ordered: Bibimbap (comes with three sides) Japchae I took these to go! As I was stepping outside the restaurant I saw a small cockroach run across the floor. FML. Once I got home, I moved the egg and there was only 3 small pieces of beef...which is the main component of bibimbap!!!!! I'm so upset. The flavours are bland too. The Japchae was good but super salty. I would not come here again. There are just way too many options. I woke u in the middle of the night and chugged my whole water bottle. Ugh. You know when you are so excited but then get disappointed with your choice? Yes, that's me currently. I could've just had a mishmash of whatever from my fridge and it'd still be better. COVID: no cash and masks mandatory for customers. Kitchen and cashier do not have masks on. read more

Simply amazing, loved how tasty everything is here. This is a no frills place, with delicious home cooked meals and fast and courteous service. We had the beef rice bowl and tofu soup, both were delicious. The side dishes were very tasty as well but we didn't have enough room to finish everything. A must try! read more

I'm a regular for the porkbone soup and the combos with the 2 porkbone soups, japchae, and ricecakes! Best Korean food in Markham, hands down. Comes with sides which are AMAZING. So much flavour in their vegetables. I love the zucchini side the most (seaweed and beansprouts are a second) read more
A busy take out restaurant in a quieter plaza beside Tim Hortons. The whole operation is run by only two people. They rush back and forth taking orders, cooking meat on the stove, mixing all the side dishes, cracking eggs, and ringing people up. We came on a Sunday afternoon around 1pm and they were just finishing a rush of orders. Wait patiently. The moment the cook is finished with her last order, she will look up and get your order. I had the big rice bowl with pork belly. Big is correct as the portions is huge and piled high. They don't even bother with a lid, just saran wrap it to keep everything in place. The big bowl comes with white short grain rice, cabbage, lettuce, yellow bean sprouts, little pieces of cut up sausages, japchae (glass noodles), yellow crispy noodles, seaweed, green onion and your protein of choice. Just in case that isn't enough, they stick two deep fried korean dumplings on the side for you. The portion was so large that I had half of it for lunch the next day. My partner had the beef lunchbox and the assortment of items looked delightful. He really liked the beef because it was all meat (hardly any fat) and well marinated. read more

It's a hole in the wall type of restaurant with 1-2 people holding the fort down. From my perspective, you get what you pay for and it's VALUE...esp the combos Food wise, taste was fair, met expectations per judging it by its exterior. You can't go wrong with a few of the a Korean classics. Ribs tasted good, soup was hot and boiling off the stove. Tasted flavourful and had abundant content. Satisfied, portions were filling. Service wise- I take it the lady is a little blunt but honestly appreciated that they let us eat there despite it getting close to closing time. They were in fact, quite nice. Told us to just leave everything and not worry about it with a smile when my boyfriend and I were trying to stack/bring over our dishes. I did notice them saying to another customer who came in 10 min to 9pm that they were closing in 10- reasonable? I think so! read more

Ordered from here for the first time through uber eats and was thoroughly impressed. The value for the price you pay is unbeatable. I got the short rib box and everything in it was so good - you get dumplings, noodles, veg and fruits, kimchi, potatoes and rice. It also came with a soup which was the one thing I wasn't a fan of but there was so much food I wouldn't have been able to finish it anyway. I also tried the special rice cake and it comes with mussels, shrimp and dumplings. It tasted great but is spicy - no option to make it mild. Great place for korean food on a budget. read more

A lovely take-out place, that is run by a friendly family. We got the bibimbap and the portion was quite generous. It is $12 before tax, which is about average price for a bibimbap in Toronto. If you let them pick the toppings, they'll put more than if you choose 6 yourself. It also comes with 3 side dishes. The portion was big enough for myself and my husband, and we were both full. I really liked the lotus, which I caramelized in a small pan after I got home. Seating is very limited. It's best for take-out. Highly recommended. Can I just say that I was taken aback by some of the other reviews? Some people rated it low and said something along the lines "the ambiance wasn't fancy and was too small" or "food didn't have the refinement of a real restaurant." Well, of course not!! it's a take-out place, not the keg! also it has a one $ sign. read more

We ordered the 'special combo for 2' for eat in for $20.99. We ordered combo 2. Luckily there was still 2 seats remaining. There are only 4 seats for eat in. The portion was good and there was lots of sides to choose from. The combo includes 3 sides. Be prepare that there is going to be a little bit of a wait since they get very busy with take out orders. Everything is freshly cooked and prepared. One of the staff is an elderly gentleman, the main staff (chef) is the middle age lady. Definitely will come back to try the soups witnext time. It looks really good. This is such a good tasting local Korean restaurant. read more

I've been craving Korean food lately and this has definitely satisfied my craving. I got the small jap chae for $5.69. It was delicious!! I got a very generous portion size (it was the size of a large take out box!!) plus it was freshly made. The lady, which I'm assuming was the owner, was so kind and warm. Definitely felt like I was valued as a customer and got a great meal. They only take cash/debit so make sure you bring at least one of these. read more

100% Korean a new takeout place in Scarborough. 100% Korean does sounds familiar? http://www.yelp.ca/biz/100-korean-restaurant-toronto This restaurant used to locate at the Chinese Plaza at Leslie and Finch. This new location is opened by the daughter that used to own the North York restaurant. The menu here though is a lot simpler. A noodle, a rice bowl and maybe some snacks? They do have a lunch bento box offers. Spicy Sweet Chicken Snack Size ($3.99) was meh. The batter was heavy and soggy and sad thing it was not cooked when ordered so it was warm and sad. Spicy Chewy Noodle ($6.99) was quite refreshing and I love the chewiness of the noodle. Great cold noodle dish during hot summer days. Room for improvement but promising for a small neighbourhood Korean takeout. Grand Opening 15% off Special. read more
Me and my boyfriend came here for lunch because of the Yelp review. And I gotta say that this place didn't disappoint me a bit. I like every single detail of my dining experience here. First of all, the place is running by a small Korean family. The food is absolutely authentic, fresh, and comes with large quantity. We ended up getting Chicken on rice lunch special and Bi Bim Bap small. The total came to $21 after tax. The service is welcoming and good. The chef is also the server, and they bring food to your table without expecting you to tip. Food taste delicious at this spot. And the plus side is they are cheaper than most Korean restaurant in the area. The only downside is that this place is so small, that they don't have actual dining table. You have to sit at the bar and it's not good for group of 4 and above. This place is designed for take-out, so it's reasonable the way it is. read more

I have uploaded so many photos for this place it's about time i finally write a review. I have been a customer since it was a 2 person operation but as of late i only see the daughter and not the older gentleman. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are huge. It comes with 3 side dishes of your choice (the side dishes are smaller compared to other Korean restaurants but that is to keep costs low i think). I love their spicy pork belly on rice, kalbi, and pork bone soup. Their spicy crab soup is realy good but it is realllyy spicy and there isn't a lot of meat. I would consider it more like a very spicy broth. (For reference, i can stomach scotch bonnet hot sauce and i still think this is spicy!) I saw some comments about the owner being rude and i hope that yelpers can be empathetic towards a woman who is trying to run the whole show by herself, delivering great food while trying to keep costs reasonable for customers. I have seen customers walk out while she was making their order because their order took too long even though she told them it would take 20 minutes. Peak hours are lunch and dinner time especially on weekends so if you don't want to experience prolonged wait, order ahead by calling and try to order before or after the peak hours if possible. read more
