Horrible experience. An absolute waste of money. I could have cooked better food than what I got from this restaurant. I ordered two (32) HaeMul SoonToFu. Both of us agree that it's tasteless. I mean, NO TASTE AT ALL. Just a bowl of spicy soup. Seafood taste - missing. Rich and intense broth - gone. I've had a lot of SoonToFu stew in different restaurants. None of them are this bad. The rice was another reason why I rate it 1 star. It was mushy. It's so overcooked that the texture becomes disgusting when served with soup. I'd have given 0.5 stars if I could. The single star is for the fish cake and kimchi; the rest of the food is horrible. I read about good service. I was there to pick up my food around 8:15 tonight. Let's just say I felt nothing good about the service.

There's really no shortage of great Korean food in the GTA. Although parking can be a little scary at these establishments that lead right out to the main roads... if you're careful, you can definitely snag a spot! I loveeee side dishes and including the main dish, they were delicious and flavourful, and as good as it looks. There weren't any specials when I went over the weekend, so if you can, be sure to check them out Mon-Fri for their lunch specials :)

4.5 STARS Ordered for takeout and was so excited, cause it's my favourite Korean joint in Markham area. mr.Tran picked our order up and came home with a big bag of goodies. We ordered dolsot bibimbap, extra spicy pork bone soup, and gun mandu (fried dumplings). We were given GENEROUS portions of freshly made kimchi, japchae, fried fish cake, and potato salad. My pork bone soup was delicious as always, with 4 big pieces of meaty goodness. The dumplings were fried to perfection and the banchans were soooooooo darn good! I love their banchans, I could just eat rice with the banchans they provide. But mr.Trans dolsot bibimbap was okay. Everything was good, but the rice. It was too mushy and it was on the verge of becoming congee lol. mr. Tran didn't finish his bibimbap, so he ate my pork bone soup instead as I couldn't finish it as I was too full. Will definitely come back again, to try other dishes on their menu.

After many visits here, this is definitely our favourite Korean take out restaurant. The taste is always on point, generous portion with a variety of complimentary sides and reasonably priced. We recently ordered the Bulgogi Dupbap (rice bowl) and Jaeyuk (spicy pork) Dupbap and I would highly recommend these two dishes. It comes with two sides and a good portion of meats for only $14.99. And 10% off if you pay in cash. You can't beat that price! We also got the beef kimbap and it was amazing!

Had to add an UPDATED review. Not sure if it's just me but I've been ordering their seolleongtang for a while now but much to my disappointment today, it was close to tasting like nothing but water, especially for almost $20 a bowl it almost feels like a rip off, borderline scam. With only 2 pieces of meat, some glass noodles in a bowl of broth coloured water, I was literally shocked at what I was tasting. At first I thought maybe all the flavours were at the bottom so I was stirring and stirring in disbelief... but the flavours did not change no matter how much I stirred. I ended up having to add a heck load of salt to make the soup taste like anything at all. Was it inflation causing a cheap out on ingredients? Soup not cooked long enough? I don't know, but I literally had the urge to run back to their store and let them try it for themselves. Very very disappointing...

A really great value take out place! Pork Bone Soup lunch special (originally 13, but is $11) - there are plenty of pork bones and meat - love the plain rice - the soup is on the tomatoey side and is delicious -it was worth the price Kalbi ($27) - comes with 4 sides - potato salad, kimchi, jap chae, zucchini - super! - the kalbi was really tender and had just the right amount of flavour - one of the best kalbi i've had in awhile!

Have always wanted to try this Korean take out place, I know people don't usually order takeout for Korean food, so this is our first time. I would say 5* is because with the price they charged, they gave pretty generous portion, and it tastes good too. But of course you can't compare that with dine in experience. We ordered the lunch special kam ja tang and soon tofu. It comes with 4 banchans - kimchi, fish cake, potato salad, and chapjae. All panchan is warm or hot except kimchi. I personally preferred cold panchan. But warm could mean they are freshly made. Kimchi obviously hasn't marinated enough time. If I ever crave for Korean food takeout, this will be my go to place from now on. Make sure you drink a lot of water after cause it's a bit spicy for me, and I think there is quite a lot of msg.

We called to place a pickup order and they told us it would be ready in 40 minutes. I arrive there in 45 minutes and they tell me to wait 5 more minutes. 10 minutes later I still haven't got my food, and once again they say it'll be 5 more minutes. I don't care how long it takes them to make my food, I just want them to be honest. If they tell me 5 more minutes every time I ask that's just bad service. Luckily the food was great enough to make up for the pick up experience. The portions were great and the appetizers were really good. The kimbap was amazing and probably some if the best we've had. The BuDae Chigae soup was great and had lots of sausage. The broth had lots of flavour and a good amount of spice. The bibimbap was amazing and probably my favourite dish from here. The food here is easily a 5/5, so we are tempted to try more dishes off their menu in the future. However, the poor service is enough to make us hesitate before ordering here again.

Take out restaurant with good value - tasty dishes at good prices and large portions. Would recommend if you have a Korean food craving. I find the taste average for most of the dishes I tried. Like their ban chan too. Comes with kimchi, jap chae, fish cake, and greens.

My hubby found this place on TikTok so we decided to give it a try! The parking is extremely small and only have about 4 parking spots. It's located on Hwy 7 and west of Main Street Unionville. We ordered 2 lunch specials each for $10.99 + taxes (Pork Bone Soup and HaeMul Soon Tofu which is seafood with vegetables in tofu soup). The lunch specials are available Monday to Friday from 10:30am to 2pm. All dishes came in either mild or spicy. We chose mild. The side dishes that usually comes with the entree like kimchi, pickled cucumber, glass noodles and sliced tofu skin were all delicious We couldn't stop eating them!! The restaurant opened in September 2020. This place is very clean and the customer service is really good. I love they have pictures all over the restaurant which makes ordering really easy because you know what you are getting and what it looks like. The menu is extensive so there is lots to choose from. We will definitely be back to try more dishes!

(4.5/5) If Korean cuisine is your comfort food, then I'd highly recommend trying Sung Won to cater to your hunger. I've been ordering from this restaurant for around half a year, and it is my go-to spot for Korean take-out. Taste? Spot on. Portion sizes? Go crazy. Value? Great (see above). Banchan (sides)? Astounding. I'm a huge fan of their potato salad side, and sometimes I find myself looking forward to this the most in my order - despite it not being an actual part of my order. My favourite things to order are the Bossam Pork and Jjajangmyeon. I've also tried the Kimbap a few times, and while it isn't the best Kimbap I've ever had (a liiittle too much rice for my liking), it certainly hits the spot when the craving comes around. This also seems to be a mom and pop run shop, and they are always so nice. Please check it out if you are ever in the market for some fantastic Korean take-out!

Very decent Korean food! I got take out from this place and didn't expect the portion size of the side dishes. I'm really glad they are not stingy with it like other places. I would definitely come back again!

I didn't try the Fried Dumplings or Beef Bulgogi, but my friends seemed to enjoy them both! Beef Bone Kulgooksu (5/5) The broth was amazing and super comforting! The noodles were nice and chewy, and it felt like a pretty big portion and definitely worth a try. Soy Sauce Fried Chicken with Rice Cakes (4/5) There were really not that many rice cakes, but the chicken was excellent with a nice crispy outside that's not overly coated in batter. Boiled Pork Belly with Green Onion (4/5) The pork belly was pretty juicy and fell apart nicely, although the strips of meat were thinner so some pieces felt a bit more dry/overcooked than others. The green onion blends well flavour-wise and was not over-powering! Something to note is that this place is definitely understaffed, with only 2 people working the floor. My friends and I had waited a decent amount of time (~15-20min) despite there being empty tables as 4-5 groups of tables left after we arrived, and the tables had been cleared and wiped down and set. We had been at the top of the waitlist, and unfortunately we were heavily discounted that another group that arrived later than us had gotten seated before us and another couple who had already been waiting a while (maybe because they had a larger party?). At the end of the meal, we had to ask for the bill and takeout containers twice because they forgot the first time, and therefore spent 10-15 minutes waiting/trying to get a waiter's attention. Overall, I would say that it was not a terrible experience, but I don't know how I would feel coming back with a small group again

Steamed Vegetables Dumplings were quite small individually, but came in a sizeable portion. I liked the green onion garnish. Taste-wise, they were alright. Vegetables Bibimbap was excellent - good amount of mixed vegetables (spinach, zucchini, mushrooms, carrot strips, lettuce, bean sprouts) and the fried egg was perfectly crispy on the outer edges, with a still gooey and runny yolk. Grilled Croaker was also decent. It had a lot of small bones as it was a whole fish. It came served with purple rice, and we chose to add on extra lettuce. Seafood Knife Cut Noodles came in a big portion - with lots of slippery, thick udon noodles, pieces of seafood (mussels, clams, squid, shrimps, octopus), and a little big of vegetables (zucchini, carrot, onion). Once we placed our order, we got the complimentary banchan (potato noodles, spicy cucumber, seaweed, kimchi and pancake). The banchan was not as fresh as the ones we used to experience at their Bamburgh Circle location (so sad that this location closed) but was still good & edible. My gamjatang arrived piping hot & the portion was massive. The flavor of the broth was missing the depth of the Bamburgh location but it was still delicious. The portion was so huge that I didn't finish my bowl like I normally do. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his meal especially the mackerel. He said it's the best grilled fish he's had. The only compliant that we had is that they were organizing the dishes and cutlery behind the counter making a lot of clanging noises which isn't pleasant while trying to enjoy our dinner. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner and would come back again. My favorite place for Korean currently is Bueokae albeit a bit far.

It is a smaller location compared to the one at Midland & McNicoll Scarborough location; nonetheless, the food here is amazing too! The service is very speedy and courteous - there is always this one lady that takes care of FOH, cleaning up and taking care of everything! You order via QR code online, and the staff will immediately bring you some Korean appetizers to start - all very yummy, and you can ask for refills too! But save room for the food; the food is very satisfying here. I often get the Galbi Tang with beef short ribs, veggies and sweet potato noodles. I love their fried chicken a lot but I can't eat too spicy, so I ask for the sauce on the side for light dipping :) They offer gloves to eat with your hands, and an extra metal bowl to put your bones - very thoughtful!
