I recently revisited because it was one of my friend's bday dinner and he wanted chicken soup. Tonkatsu: Honestly, this is prolly more worth it than the koryo samgyetang. The cutlet was huge and juicy. Koryo Samgyetang: Bruh. $25.99. Hell no. No way. Tastes exactly the same as before but there is no way in hell this small bowl of chicken soup went from 14.99 to 25.99 even factoring in recent inflation. Daylight robbery imo. Seafood pancake: Surprisingly, this time the seafood pancake was MUCH better than the one I had on my last visit. Is it worth 18.99? HELL NO, once again. Wayyyy overpriced. True to my word I've gotta award 3 stars after coming back. Knowing what they USED to charge for food vs now is a travesty. The food selection at this location is also not as expansive as the one on Yonge St. I can't see myself coming back here on my own. You feel hungry after dining and flies flying out of your wallet as well to top it off. The food is not mind-blowingly good enough for me to award higher than 3 stars.

We came here at around 6 on Saturday and were seated immediately. It was my second time visiting. This restaurant never disappoints. As usual, I got the Samgyetang. It was simply delicious and satisfying. We got the boneless fried chicken to share. it was hands down one of the best I've had at a Korean restaurant. Chicken was so tender and fresh. the sauce was also very good. Great service, the servers were careful when serving the dishes as they were hot soups. I will come back for the third time in the future.

Known for their hearty ginseng chicken soup. This is not your typical Korean restaurant that you are use to having gamjatang in. Because you won't be finding that on the menu here. Instead, they are most popular for their ginseng chicken soup (whole chicken!). The ginseng chicken is stuffed with rice on the inside and comes served boiling hot right to your table. The chicken is silky smooth and soft to the palette. You can expect a hearty soup flavour that is soothing to the throat and soul. Other items that can be found on the menu are things such as organ soups, think intestine soups! So interesting! I've tried it once before and it was quite an experience with the flavours. However, this time I opted for the soondubu which came quite spicy but so delicious! Perfect for a cold fall day. Kimchi fried rice was also phenomenal and so good for sharing. Cheese kimchi pancake was a little heavy since the cheese on top was so creamy. I think I'd opt for the regular seafood pancake instead next time. Overall, a great experience and that serves up a different type of Korean food that I'm used to seeing/ eating. Highly recommend!

I really wanted to give this restaurant a higher rating as I was super excited to try the samgyetang. The price was pretty steep. But I was still eager to try this because of all the positive reviews. I was full by the end of my meal. However, the broth was pretty bland. With that being said, the banchan was yummy and the service and ambience were great. We were seated promptly, offered choice of seating and checked on numerous times for tea and banchan refills.

Small hidden gem in north york. Friendly services and very clean place. I like their freshness ingredients and not overly salty like most Korean restaurants. Recommended!

We were craving Korean food and heard this spot was good, which I agree! They are known for their Korean ginseng soup and bibimbap. We ordered the stir fried buldak (fire chicken with cheese), spicy rice cakes, gom gug si (seollongtang which is a beef based soup with rice noodles), and dol sot bibimbap of course! Along with the main dishes we got a variety of complementary banchan. Our favourite was the cabbage with black sesame dressing which we found was unique. The fire chicken with cheese was very hot (true to its name). I kept sipping on the tea to cope with the spice! As for the spicy rice cakes, these were cooked perfectly chewy. The bibimbap came in a traditional stone pot which allowed to get the rice at the bottom of the bowl crunchy. I think this came with a good variety of veggies but was lacking a bit of protein. Finally, the gom gug si - this was a creamy but light tasting broth, which was so satisfying on an odd chilly summer night. This was the highlight of the meal in my opinion. I know I'll be craving this whenever the weather gets cold!

In short: Food tastes good, very authentic but portions are small. Honestly, take the extra 10 minutes to drive and park on yonge st. It was a busy weekday and the manager/owner decided to schedule 1 person to work. The server was completely overwhelmed and it took us nearly 35 mins to get our food. This is On top of the solid 10 mins waiting to place an order. The server was incredibly nice and it's not his fault but there really should have been more staff. It got to the point where several tables were finished and many people left seeing that they couldn't accommodate. It's good but I'm not sure i'd go back.

Feeling under the weather or just looking for the ultimate comfort food for this cold snowy weather? KoSam's famous Samgyetang will certainly hit the spot! This is the Korean traditional ginseng chicken soup, stewed with a whole Cornish hen! The chicken meat is so tender and falls right off the bone. Keep picking at it and you will discover sticky rice inside. The broth is lightly flavoured with ginseng, but still rich & delicious! I like how they don't add salt so you can adjust the saltiness to your own liking. We also ordered the rice cake & dumpling soup in beef bone broth, which was another healthy, tasty option. Go to Jess.feed.me on IG for more food photos!

TLDR: didn't know what to expect, first time eating samgyetang and I really like it. Everything is served too hot, so wait up before you eat. Spicy Rice Cake is so good; First of---observe covid restrictions, you have to be fully vaxxed to dine in and you have to show a piece of ID Spicy rice cake ---it is legit spicy! I thought I could manage cause some spicy rice cake are not that spicy (im not really good with spice) but this one is another level for me. I like rice cake! Soft and chewy Dol sot (i forgot what it's called), I took photo too long so my rice were 'burnt' but the flavour is really good! I like the sweet blended with the spice. Samgyetang- this is the first time im trying this!!!!!! The glutinous rice inside the small whole chicken absorbed all the flavours of the soup which is really tasty!

Pretty good! You know it's good when the basic dishes are really good. Nice little spot for great food. It's pretty cozy as well :) 4/5

I visited Kosam Korean Restaurant for an impromptu dinner for two. The servers were all kind and couteous, and I was surprised by what a large menu they have. We ended up ordering the Tonkatsu set, the Koryo Bibimbap, and Kosam Yang Yum Fried Chicken. Everything was delicious, but the fried chicken was just okay. I was especially pleased with their fried chicken with the sweet and spicy sauce. They also had great side dishes, so it was a very filling and satisfying meal.

We were greeted warmly on a cold afternoon and offered a seat further from the window since it was so chilly out that day. The restaurant was quite busy with many customers when we got there. We debated between a few options but ended up ordering the spicy pork dubap and dumplings soup. I liked that the side dishes were different from other Korean restaurants. I rarely see the dried fishies and really like those so I was pleasantly surprised when I saw them. Maybe I haven't been to that many Korean restaurants in Toronto but I don't often see spicy pork on the menu and that's one of my favourite Korean dishes. This one was just like I had in Korea. We didn't realize that there was a ton of rice cakes with the dumplings. You will definitely fill up the large dumplings, the rice cakes and the soup. The soup may seem a little bland but the server let us know there's salt and pepper on the table so that you can adjust the taste yourself. I found that with having the spicy pork this was a nice way to neutralize the amount of spice from the pork. I'll be back to try other dishes.

Ambiance is casual, interior is clean, and service is fast and attentive. We ordered a couple of dishes and they all came out relatively quickly. The banchan (small side dishes) are refillable once only. My favourite banchan of the day were the bean sprouts and eggplant. There were lots of vegetarian and vegan options, such as the Steamed Vegetable Dumplings, Vegetables Bibimbap, Mushrooms Bibimbap, Vegetables Udon, Vegetables Fried Rice, Kimchi Pancake, Soondubu-jjigae (Soft Tofu Stew) in different variations, and more. The menu was pretty extensive, covering the most typical Korean dishes from the stews and grilled items, to a few Korean-Chinese dishes (such as Jajangmyeon) and everything in between. Steamed Vegetables Dumplings were quite small individually, but came in a sizeable portion. I liked the green onion garnish. Taste-wise, they were alright. Vegetables Bibimbap was excellent - good amount of mixed vegetables (spinach, zucchini, mushrooms, carrot strips, lettuce, bean sprouts) and the fried egg was perfectly crispy on the outer edges, with a still gooey and runny yolk. Grilled Croaker was also decent. It had a lot of small bones as it was a whole fish. It came served with purple rice, and we chose to add on extra lettuce. Seafood Knife Cut Noodles came in a big portion - with lots of slippery, thick udon noodles, pieces of seafood (mussels, clams, squid, shrimps, octopus), and a little big of vegetables (zucchini, carrot, onion). They came in a nice seafood-infused broth - perfect for a cold winter day. I'd come again for the variety of menu items they offer (especially the wide selection of vegetarian options), satisfying tastes, and great & efficient service.

Definitely not my first time here as I've come with family or friends over the past 15+ years, every time, leaving very satisfied. It's dry aged meats so you can expect the pricing to be higher than other Korean bbq's. The service was top notch with servers coming to check in with us throughout our meal. The food was amazing here and the quality of their meats is definitely the highlight. Here's what we got: Yukhoe (raw beef tartare) 5/5 - So fresh, so delicious and a must get appetizer. Pairs perfectly with the sweet pear slices and delicious crisps. Cold Noodle Soup 5/5 - Chewy noodles with a cold broth that is the perfect carb and contrast to the bbq meats. Refreshing and delicious. Heritage No Name 5/5 - Such bang for buck in my opinion. $25 for 240g of this premium heritage pork. Marinated bone-in short rib 5/5 - This was so good and was one thick piece of short rib. My favourite meat of the night for sure. Like all Korean bbqs, this spot also serves a variety of banchans and kbbq comes with a complimentary soup that I thought was the best compd soup ever (compared to all other kbbq places). Parking can get busy in the garage as only the first 2 floors are dedicated to visitors while the upper floors are monthly passes. Note that Omiwol provides 4 hour parking validation if you eat there - more than enough time for meal. Staff were friendly and provided helpful tip around the amount of food and cooking the meat. We came on a weekday for lunch and decided on the lunch feast for 2. One thing that I immediately noticed was different than other Korean bbq places was that they seem to have internal ventilation within the grills at each table as there is almost no smoke in the restaurant despite many grills going on. This gives the restaurant a higher class feel and your clothes don't smell like bbq meat by the end of your meal! In terms of the meat, these were the stars of the meal. The pork belly had a nice fat that crisped up on cooking. The collar was tender and meaty that developed a good crust on grilling. The flat iron steak was soooo tender and juicy. Similarly, the picanha was meaty with good flavor though a big firmer. The banchans and lettuce were fresh. We got kimchi, spicy cucumber and onions, pickled onions, cabbage and jalapeño peppers, pickled sheets of radish and honey glazed sweet potatoes. All of which were tasty and go well with the bbq meats. On the side is a dish of sauces that include what looks like a sweet brown sauce (to me had minimal flavor relative to everything else), fresh wasabi - really great accompaniment to the beef and seemed more authentic than normal horseradish like wasabi, and a red sauce that reminds me of sauce that goes on bibimbap. The lunch set also comes with your choice of pork or beef kalguksu which is like a home made noodle dish in a stew. Very enjoyable to have to contrast the bbq meats. For us, our meal ended with melona popsicle which they have a variety of flavors. Price: 70$ pre tax and tip for lunch special which was well worth. Bring cash for a 5% discount.

A comforting brunch at Bonjuk Canada - perfect when you're not feeling 100%…read more My partner and I finally sat down for a proper brunch at Bonjuk this afternoon, and it was exactly the kind of meal we needed. I've been dealing with some dental pain, and my partner is just getting over a nasty cold, so we wanted something gentle, nourishing, and easy on the body - not a heavy, greasy brunch. Bonjuk's whole vibe of "comfort food with heart" really delivered. We'd only done takeout before, so this was our first time dining in. The space is small but really welcoming - warm lighting, clean and simple decor, and comfortable seating that makes you want to slow down and relax. It's not a huge place, so there aren't tons of indoor seats, but that also gives it a cozy, intimate feel. Service was friendly and low‑pressure, which we appreciated when we were both feeling a bit under the weather. We ordered the Chicken Porridge ($23) and the Beef Bulgogi Bibimbap ($24), both for dine‑in (prices don't include tax and tip). The chicken porridge was savoury, and soothing, with a rich broth that felt healing without being heavy. It was easy to eat with my sore teeth and left me feeling comforted, not stuffed. The beef bulgogi bibimbap was a nice contrast - colourful, fresh, and full of flavour. The bulgogi was sweet, the rice was perfectly cooked, and the mix of veggies and egg made it feel like a balanced, healthy meal. It's definitely a step up from typical brunch fare if you're looking for something lighter but still satisfying. One thing that really stood out was their baby porridge menu. It's such a thoughtful touch - separate, gentle, low‑salt options for little ones. As someone who's seen new parents struggle to find safe, easy meals out, this felt genuinely helpful and kind. It's easy to see why their marketing feels like they actually care about making food that's good for people, not just trendy. If you're looking for the best value, I'd say go for takeaway. We noticed a steady stream of takeout orders, and the overall costs are slightly lower that way, especially when there are discounts offered by different order platform. Overall, Bonjuk Canada is a good spot when you want something comforting, healthy, and easy on the stomach - whether you're recovering from illness, have dental issues, or just want a more mindful brunch.
