Damda makes really good cold noodles! They hit my cravings everytime. They have lots of seating, and they can easily fit big groups. The service is quick and the staff are helpful. They provide lots of side dishes, I enjoy the variety. I wish the side dishes are a little better but nonetheless I will be returning!

Pretty good Korean restaurant serving all the familiar classics. Their seafood pancake is a must order. The other dishes are pretty average, and a bit on the smaller portion size. Service is fast and efficient.

It's a nice Korean restaurant. I don't want to cause too much drama, but most Korean restaurants resemble each other...they all have same dishes, e.g. bibimbap. I guess the difference is that each restaurant has their own flavour. I think the pork soup of Damda was a highlight. It had very strong flavour and it should be cooked for hours. I was disappointed that banchans (appetizer) did not have sprouts and seaweeds, which are my favourite kinds of banchan I hope it's just because of wrong season.

Food here is insanely good and has become my new favourite Korean restaurant in the city. As someone who's lived near finch station I am a bit of a soft tofu stew snob. As such, this is the best I've had in the city. The broth is so flavourful, the seafood was fresh and it was packed with veg. Also I ate alone - do you see how many side dishes?? The variety is impeccable, their kimchi was delicious and none of the sides were sweet which I really appreciated. Service was great too, I could tell the girls were keeping an eye on customers without being overbearing especially as I was reading and eating. Atmosphere was okay as per most of the restaurants in the area. Anyway you just gotta try it to know, we don't gatekeep here

This was a very generous portion.

A cosy new spot in Koreatown serving some generous portions. Damda has both tables and booths, plus a little lobby so that diners don't get blasted with cold air whenever someone comes in (a must for this January chilly weather)! On a Thursday night, this place was bustling. I swear, Koreans do the best cold-weather food. Get yourself something in a stone pot and warm up for an hour or two!

    Seafood jeon, bibimbap, spicy pork

Visited for lunch in May with my two adult children. My son recommended the seafood pancake and the bibimbap. The jeon was really good, fresh and tasty with the dipping sauce. The side dishes are always a treat in Korean restaurants, these were particularly good. Service was quick and efficient, and because it wasn't busy we had a large comfortable booth to sit at.

i think i'm done trying MEAT PILE type dishes in restaurants this teriyaki chicken had GROSS hard/boney type pieces; BAD CUTS of meat; just unsettling and hugely disappointing stand 9 inches over your shoulder as you are paying... it's weird

Apparently they were still doing their grand opening specials for lunch which is great. The service was good and they had plenty of seats. The washroom is in the basement. My friend and I shared the bulgogi beef hot pot. It was a decent portion and the soup base was flavourful with the bulgogi beef. We got six side dishes. Overall, the menu prices seem comparable to other Korean restaurants in the area. They didn't rush us out which was great. I would definitely go back to try their other dishes.

It was 9:30pm and since they were closing at 10:30pm, I called to ask if they could still seat us if we got to the restaurant in the next 5 minutes. They were so kind to us and agreed. The fastest meal we've ever had but probably the best Korean food in the city. We were out by 10:35pm. We were a group of 6 that ordered 4 mains and 3 appetizer dishes. For the appetizers, we ordered the seafood court dumplings, japchae and seafood pancake. We got the last order of japchae for the day so they loaded it with extra beef. It was also well seasoned and the glass noodles weren't soggy like other spots. I shared the pork kimchi stew and fair warning, it is spicy (same with the pork bone soup). Spicy but very flavourful. This stew is packed with rice cakes, kimchi and pork. One thing about Damda is that they used the same size stone bowls (dolsot) for both the pork bone soup and pork kimchi stew. Other Korean restaurants would normally serve the pork kimchi stew in a smaller stone bowl. The service is beyond amazing despite the time crunch. There is a cash discount offered at Damda. I would highly recommend this spot within the vicinity.

Definitely a go-to spot for authentic Korean food! Prices are reasonable and their pork bone soup (aka kam ja tang) is amazing! It's slightly spicier than other places, which I love, and is super meaty. Friend ordered the ox tail soup and it was also very tasty! Creamy and beefy. A great alternative to PBS if you're feeling something different. Lastly, the fried chicken is delicious! Nice and saucey with a good hit of spice. Overall service was good and will definitely be back

    black bean sauce noodle (jjangjangmyun)

This is a new Korean restaurant in Koreatown that I tried out when I was in Koreatown. The restaurant is definitely very spacious and clean. I had a very kind waitress who was very willing to accommodate for my friend's vegetarian diet. She went above and beyond and made sure that we understood what went into each part of the dish. The food itself was pretty good as well. Ample amount of side dishes, though the macaroni was a surprise. I got the black bean sauce noodle (jjangjangmyun) and my friend got the bibimbap. Both were really good dishes that I recommend. If I had to make any pointers, just be aware korean food in general is very meat based. It is very hard to get any dish that is purely vegetarian. Even the bibimbap we got had meat in their sauce so they gave us an alternate sauce to have. Anyways, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit. Accommodating and friendly staff, spacious and clean space and amazing food. I recommend!

Great find in Korea Town! As you would expect we went to Korea Town looking for good Korean food. We had a place in mind but decided not to eat there; so in our search this new spot caught our eye. We were impressed by the warm greeting and great service. The food was as we would expect of a great Korean restaurant. They had a good selection of Korean beer, soju and Makguli. We tried a stew each and shared a sea food pancake. The starters were fresh and delicious and we would definitely go back and also highly recommend. The photos will show how nice everything is there. Enjoy!

Came in just before close, staff and service are so friendly and quick despite coming in 30 minutes before they were about to go home for the day. Food was plentiful, portion sizes were amazing to feed a table of 6. I had the pork bone soup and gyoza and it really hit the spot ons cold night. It was spicy but wasn't unbearable. It really warmed me up. Lots of meat and full of flavour. The Gyozas were also very flavourful and crispy on the outside but juicy in the inside. One of the biggest highlights of damda is the kimchi!! That was incredible, will be back again and likely going to be a weekly appearance after building up an appetite from sports leagues in the area.
