Probably my new go-to Korean spot. What sets this place apart for me is the kind service provided -- the kind where they don't make you feel like a burden when you ask for more side dishes... This spot is solid for a classic pork bone soup... it's usually all I ever get when I go to Korean restaurants so I can't speak to the other offerings but my meal here definitely hit the spot. They were speedy with attending to us when needed, and the worker even told us to let her know if we needed a refill on side dishes (based on my experience at other Korean restos, it's unspoken and you feel like they're hoping you don't ask them). The service was super friendly... the lady always came to us with a smile which was really warm and welcoming. The space is clean and I noticed their traffic seems to come and go in waves so wait times may be unpredictable but it didn't seem that anyone had to wait long before being seated. Ample parking in the plaza as well. Prices are fair ($15.99 for gamjatang). Highly recommend! read more

I was yelping for some korean spots in Scarborough and came across this spot with high ratings. Having had a rather, disappointing dining experience at a Korean resto the week before in Stouffville, my gf and I were eager to get some good grub in our tummies. The area around Alton Towers Circle was strangely reminiscent to me because I used to play in a softball league and one of the parks we used to play our games in was Goldhawk Park nearby. We arrived, were seated right away and the waitress brought ice water to us. That particular day my gf wasn't feeling too well so we had requested hot water or tea. The waitress initially told us that they only had cold tea or water but 5-10 mins later came back to us with a kettle of tea. +1 for good service! As for the food it was excellent and more in line with what we expected when dining out for Korean food. The kalbi tang I ordered had a lot of beef rib bones scattered throughout it alongside an ample amount of radish. The soup was quite peppery and had good seasoning. My gf's bibimbap was served in a hot stone bowl and the rice was so good. The bibimbap portion size is quite hefty and hearty. We also ordered a seafood pancake and this pancake did NOT disappoint. It was absolutely PACKED with goodies (a lot of squid in particular) and the seafood was very fresh! I do wish they gave us a little bit more of the dipping sauce that came with it though. My gf and I agreed that we definitely will be back sometime in the future. Maybe to try some of the fried chicken? The menu is quite big so we'll try some other items on the return visit. read more

I was craving Korean food and this place hit the spot! There's lots of free parking in the plaza. This restaurant has lots of seats and it's very spacious inside. Even on a Wednesday night, there were a few large groups here eating. I ordered the Pork Bone Soup ($15.99). The flavours were great and the soup wasn't too spicy. There's also good banchan options here too. Service was great and it looks like it's run by a family business. I would definitely come again to try out their other dishes. read more

I had been reading the positive reviews about this restaurant and I can say it's well deserved. The restaurant is on the small side and today there seemed to be a steady stream of customers. It was quite busy. Good sign. Despite this, service was still good. Our orders were taken in a timely manner, we received our food in a timely manner too. So onto the food. We ordered the grilled mackerel, cheese tteokboki, original fried chicken and spicy beef soup. The fried chicken and spicy beef soup were good but didn't stand out for me. But the grilled mackerel came out hot and was delicious. It had the right amount of crispyness. The cheese tteokboki also stood out for me. It had great texture and flavour. Portion sizes were decent and eating these dishes and banchan was enough to fill my family of four. I will definitely return and try the other dishes. It was a pleasant dining experience. read more

The staff were all really kind and helpful, and the service was quite fast. The cold noodles were very refreshing, and whenever we did finish our side dishes, they were kind to ask if we wanted more. New Korean spot opened in this area! Was very busy when we went this past weekend! A good sign for a new business, I'd say. It's a small restaurant so it can easily get packed. We ordered a couple of dishes to share. I only took two photos because we were quite hungry, I forgot to take more. We ordered the seafood ja jang myun, regular fried chicken, soy garlic fried chicken, chicken fried rice, and then two bulgogi bibimbaps. The dishes came with sides -kimchi, potato, I believe it was fermented soybean and fish cakes. We also ordered a seafood pancake but it got missed (we weren't complaining though because it was super busy and we ended up so full it was a blessing in disguise). They were kind enough to give us an order of dumplings to apologize, which was a nice gesture. We enjoyed all the dishes. But I'd say I was really surprised that I enjoyed the ja jang myun. I find that it's hard to find a place that makes it well and this one is pretty good! Chicken was also very good here. Will return to try that pancake another day! read more

Came to this restaurant on a cold Saturday night, and a nice bowl of bibimbap was what I really needed to warm me up! This is a quiet restaurant that serves a selection of Korean dishes. I ordered the Bulgogi bibimbap, and it definitely satisfied the craving, but I didn't think it was the most authentic bowl of bibimbap that I've had. The vegetables were cut up kind of coarsely instead of thinly, and the bulgogi was also kind of thick? It felt more like a homemade bibimbap than the type that is usually served at restaurants. My friend got the Tteokbokki with ramen and it had a similar vibe, tasty but very homemade. I felt like with so many awesome Korean restaurants around these days, I would probably choose to go somewhere else. I was excited to see another Korean option in Scarborough and rounded up the family to try this place out. Located in a retail plaza anchored by a Chinese grocery store, there is plenty of parking here. We came in for an early dinner on a Saturday and were seated immediately. We were a group of 7 and ordered a bunch of things to share; seafood pancake, seafood jajangmyun, seafood soondubu, naeng-myun, pork katsu, pork bone soup and bulgogi bibimbap. Accompanying banchans were simple but well executed and I liked the taste of everything I got to try. The seafood jajangmyun was deliciously mellow without too much seafood flavour. The pork bone soup had generous amount of large, spicy bones with yes, fall off the bone meat. The broth for the pork bone soup was very rich without being oily or heavy which I loved. My naeng-myun was also very good with refreshingly light cold beef broth. The kimchi, sliced boiled beef, seasoned radish and egg ribbons all made for a very tasty bowl. I find that I always want more noodles whenever I have naeng-myun which is why all the naeng-myun places in Korea would offer "sa-ree" (extra bundle of noodles) at a small price. But alas, this option was not available here so I had to savour every strand of the delicious buckwheat noodles. As we paid the bill and was about the leave, my SIL said she recognized the lady who served us and it turns out that our server used to work at Onnuri on Pharmacy. She said her friend opened Dangol so she came to work with her friend which was very sweet. Overall, my first experience here was superb and will definitely return with more K-food loving friends soon to support this business. read more

Came here on a Friday night and it wasn't too busy around 7 pm. It's like a Korean family spot and they don't service alcohol yet. The food was really delicious and fresh! Original fried chicken 10/10 - better that the franchised chicken places lik my my chicken or the fry. They give you huge portions and everything was juicy and crispy Cheese spicy rice cakes 8/10 - loved the rice cakes! They were soft and chewy and they felt like the fresh ones that you can get at the rice cake spots not the frozen stuff. Would have preferred the sauce to be cooked with the rice cake a little longer but overall super tasty and nothing a little double dipping wouldn't fix Gopchang spicy beef stew 7/10 - the stew was hot and comforting. It had gopchang and glass noodles with some shredded brisket. It was ok the flavour kind of flat not my fav. Would definitely come back for the fried chicken and rice cakes! read more

Really enjoyed our lunch at this new spot. The location used to be a congee takeout place so it's not very big, but the decor is nice and welcoming. Pork bone soup was full of tender pork and my soon tofu soup was full of silky tofu. I also liked that it wasn't too spicy. I had been craving mackerel and it didn't disappoint. The original fried chicken was a bit bland in flavour but it was crispy and piping hot. It was $20 for 10 pieces and we felt it was a good value. Wow this place blew all my expectations. Definitely authentic Korean and from the looks of it a family run restaurant. Got the bolgoki bibimbap which had a good ratio of beef, veggies and rice. Done very well. Also got the ginseng chicken soup. Comes with a whole baby chicken and it was stuffed with sticky rice. They also give you a big chunk of ginseng root. The brooth was excellent and the chicken was soft and tender. Side dishes were also very good. The kimchi had a hint of sweetness which I liked. Service is very friendly. Still just as great as when we first came. We decided to try the Cheese Spicy Chicken today. It comes on a sizzling hot plate, a large amount of cheese on top, veggies, lots of chicken and a bowl of rice. Great dish if you're craving a cheese pull that day. The portion is quite large so unless you can eat a lot, you could share this dish with another person. We noticed a few minor changes with the menu, such as the spicy cold noodle we used to order isn't available anymore, instead that item is now merged with the Dangol Cold Noodle dish. When you order the cold noodle dish you will get vinegar on the side and a spicy sauce that will give your cold noodles another depth of flavour. Also they have Jampong now on the menu. The owner and server are very kind attentive to the customers needs. They come by to check if customers want to refill any side dishes and check if everything is okay. read more

We went for lunch today and ordered the regular fried chicken and the dumpling soup with rice cake. The soup was superb! It was a real comfort food. The fried chicken was crispy. We were delighted to see golden cutlery and they were very generous with the side dishes. They gave us double serving when they saw we were all out of fish cake and potato side dishes. I came to eat with my boyfriend since they recently opened. We got the cold noodles, cheese spicy chicken, corn cheese and fried chicken. I loved both chicken dishes... so good! My boyfriend liked the cold noodles the best. Their side dishes also were an interesting variety they include doraji for those of you who know what that is. The place is new and clean, with very polite and caring staff. We ordered the pork bone hotpot, soon tofu, seafood pan cake, bibimbap and kalbi. Everything was flavourful and tasted amazing. The soup base for the soon tofu was very different, they probably added a bit of light cream to it which enhanced the texture and flavour. Definitely a repeat restaurant and I absolutely did not expect such a good restaurant to be located in Alton Towers circle. Oh and the waitresses are pretty cute. read more
