I return to Main Street Bagel after trying a few others. They all have their interesting twists but I continue to return to Main Street bagel in Flemington, NJ because the taste of the on prem baked bagels, coupled with great fresh toppings, and care for consistent quality and rich flavors keep me coming back again and again. My go to is a Toasted Onion bagel with Bacon(crispy) eggs, cheese, katchup, pepper, a dash of salt. Heaven in Hunterdon County. Coffee is always fresh and rich. Service is amazing as only a small American diner can deliver. I love coming to Flemington's Main Street and enjoying the old school shop to bring the experience home. It's got plenty of clean seating, in warmer months sitting on their front porch is a must. I'll always search for a nice bagel but I'll always return to the great American Bagel restaurant for the best quality & flavors anywhere. read more

I love their bagel sandwiches here! They use really great ingredients and they're always amazing and flavorful. The bagels are the classic, slightly dense, NYC bagels - the everything bagel is also amazing. The staff is also really great and friendly - though they're sometimes rushed with orders on the weekends. Additionally there's a nice seating area to sit and eat in Main St. read more

Excellent food, coffee, and service. Got a sausage egg and cheese on a jalapeño bagel and the sausage was incredibly juicy and the bagel was very fresh and fluffy. Just what we needed to start the day :) read more

Delicious! Split a pork roll with a friend to try for the first time and it was sooo good! Got it inside a garlic bagel. The bagel is so delicious and soft. If I lived in that area, I'd definitely get it more often! Lol read more

Always great service and the best Bagels! Very generous with the Taylor ham on the sandwich's

Love the bagels and breakfast sandwiches here. My go-to is actually not a bagel; it's a round roll with bacon, egg, cheese, and breakfast potatoes *on the sandwich*. Try it! It's a game changer. The only thing I wish they also made was breakfast platters and omelets. Sometimes, I'm just not in the mood for a carb-heavy breakfast, but I do want to continue frequenting this place. read more

Main Street Bagel gives us (another) good reason to visit downtown Flemington, NJ. Since the old classic Union Hotel closed down and the historic courthouse of Lindbergh kidnapping trial fame ceased being an active justice center, things have gotten rather desperate on Main Street. Thankfully, this bagel/deli moved in a couple years ago and is successfully making a go of it, even in this difficult Age of Covid. I picked up my breakfast Onion w Veggie Cream Cheese the other day before a visit to a car dealer out on Route 202 for an annual service appointment. The sandwich was very good - decent sized roller with crisp skin requiring sharp teeth and strong jaw, surrounding a lighter air pocketed center, exhibiting a pleasant mild malty flavor, and a generous smear of veggie bit loaded cream cheese spread that leaked out the back just a little with each bite. Had to get my fingers shmutzie to contain it. Didn't mind at all, as I had yanked enough napkins on my way out to cover that possibility. Plentiful topside onion flakes, too. Self serve coffee offered enough basic choices to keep me well caffeinated through my time in the waiting room (properly socially distanced). I tried to be neat in this upper end auto lounge, but admit that some of the toasted flakes did escape my careful mastication and take flight, eluding my grasp, and spinning to the well polished floor. I picked up what I could see, but knew there were probably a few hiding from view. The dealer might not join me in this opinion, but Main Street Bagel will likely be the place I return to when I plan provisions for the next scheduled appointment with the well trained certified mechanics. read more

One of the best bagel shops in NJ. Always fresh, airy and crispy on the outside. The place is always spotless inside. If you are in Flemington give this place a try. Always support our local businesses. read more

I love the bagel, owner and staff. I have a problem with cleanliness. Cant sit outside because it is never cleaned up, tables and floors dirty with food so it attracts flies and other creatures, Inside, is also dirty. The coffee station, coffee machine is never wiped clean, I am sure the inside of the coffee machine or carafes are never cleaned. I know they are busy, but it does not take alot of time that you cant wipe down the tables occasionally. I have a problem having our freinds meet there for breakfast/lunch for that reason read more

Ordered the Ellis Island Hot Pastrami on toasted rye with additional mayo. Chips, coleslaw, a pickle and my cappuccino completed my lunch. Service was friendly read more

Excellent bagels ! We tried rye, garlic, sesame, egg and the standout for me was pumpernickel ! Really good product.

Best bagels around, no comparison in the area. Their breakfast sandwiches are great also. It's the only place I'll go. Parking behind the stores if you can't get street parking. Worth the trip! read more

Good food and friendly staff, but sadly I must comment that no worker wearing a mask isn't wise. (Also, if anyone wants to leave a 'compliment' just to harass me over being cautious, don't bother because I'm no longer reading those. My sister got sick from this pandemic and I have friends that either got sick, had their loved ones get sick and some even have passed away. So if you still think this whole thing is funny, you have my pity) read more

Fast service, fresh bagels, and a good price - what else could I ask for ?? This was probably one of the best bagel spots my friend and I have gone to in a while. Main Street Bagel - Details of cross section cut and overall bagel quality - Bagels Near Me - Flemington, New Jersey

A few things I didn't like: 1. They charged $1.55 for a cup of hot water. The place is generally hugely overpriced. 2. They had no non-dairy options to put in the coffee. When I asked about it they were very dismissive and rude... don't see the need for that. 3. It's a dump, smells like crap and looks like it hasn't been renovated since 1975 read more

Alright - without getting into the age old NYC vs NJ debate on bagels and pizza - let add my $.02 on an amazing little family place to get that treasured early AM everything bagel. Main Street Bagels is exactly what you think of when you say "bagel shop". One of my family's favorite traditions is to get a dozen bagels early on Sunday AM before the day starts off. The friendly staff usually even throws in an extra bagel ! The plain bagels are a staple but I just love the in your face taste of a fresh everything with cream cheese. And yes....all made fresh right there so they are often still warm ! read more

Main Street Bagel - two people sitting outside of a restaurant - Bagels Near Me - Flemington, New Jersey

Love that we can easily walk here, and the food is also very good. Nice breakfast bagel sandwiches and they do not skimp on meat and egg. Definitely would recommend this place for breakfast. The outdoor seating is great on a nice morning as well. It does get a bit crowded by the counter sometimes though with only one spot for placing orders and picking them up. read more

I stop in here with my mama everytime I'm in the area. This place is a wonderful addition to an otherwise eh Main Street these days. The bagels here are the perfect blend of crispy and fluffy. I'm the honey wheat's number 1 fan!! Family usually rocks the everything bagel, which they all rave about. For a pork roll, egg, and cheese girl, these sandwiches are no joke. They slice their pork roll thick and pile on 3 gigantic slices. Any more would be too much! The staff here are always friendly and service is FAST! My only complaint is that this place didn't exist when I worked down the street for years!! read more

Good no frills bagel place that does a real Nice job with everything they do. Always a great experience and consistently fresh and tasty bagels and menu. Plus - the people that work there aren't miserable with their lot in life. read more

I have lived in NY, NJ, and all over the country. This is the best authentic bagel shop period. The bagels are always fresh and when you order a bacon egg and cheese you get BACON. Not 1 or 2 strips, more like 5 or 6. Their sausage is another amazing item on the menus. Of course they also have the best deli meat courtesy of Boars Head. Great staff always welcoming and fun to talk to. We just moved to Flemington and after trying all the bagel shops in the town this quickly became our weekend spot. P.S. Of course the bagel toppings are on both sides of the bagels read more

Best bagels I've had in NJ, and I've lived in 3 different counties. My father-in-law has lived his entire life in NJ and says Main Street Bagel makes the best Pork roll, egg & cheese he's ever had. The coffee is consistently good too. read more

Food is good, prices are reasonable but the service is horrible not to mention the lack of cleanliness. If your looking for a great consumer experience then this is NOT the place for you. VERY GOOD BAGELS. The everything bagel has so much everything on it but it's honestly pretty salty. Everyone I share the bagels with loves them but they all say it's super salty. But overall solid bagels just don't add any more salt to your egg and cheese! read more

Great bagels, excellent cream cheese and sweet staff. Highly recommended if In Flemington.

3.5 stars. I was actually stressing about giving them a 4th star as I was chewing my bagel earlier. Here's why I rounded down. -My coffee tasted burnt. -Perfect chewy crust but inside missed the "oomph" taste that high-gluten wheat flour gives. Not a large space but has a few tables inside to sit down and enjoy a bagel. Basic bagel varieties here. Good for them in dousing the poppy bagels in poppy seeds. I like seeing my poppy bagel essentially look black. How I loathe it when my bagel shops get chinesy with poppy seeds. read more

First time here and I'm not impressed. It was total chaos in there. People were just standing around waiting to order and waiting to receive their order. I like the coating on the bagel but the creme cheese was so bland even for low fat. I've had better. read more

I really have nothing but good things to say about Main Street Bagel. Friendly, clean, delicious are a few words to describe them. Although I live in Atlanta I stop here on the way back to the airport every time I visit my parents. It's usually 2 or 3 times a year. The owner is very friendly and always remembers us when we go there. I call my order before we go in (usually 3 dozen mixed to go) and its' ready and waiting when I arrive. The price is fair and the bagels are delicious even after a flight down the east coast. Street parking is always easy to find and there is rarely a wait that is longer than 1 minute. See you on my next trip to NJ Main St. Bagel! read more

This place used to be a favorite but no longer. We waited a half an hour for our sandwiches, salad and soup. We wondered why we hadn't gotten soup or salad since they shouldn't take a half hour to make. There were only two other customers in the place and they had been served. As we approached the counter to ask what was taking so long, the workers realized they didn't even have the meat to make the cheesesteak. That will be our last trip to Main Street Bagel. read more

I wish I had a pic of my chicken salad wrap, but that 's how good the food tasted. I was in Flemington for business and in two weeks I ate here three times. The staff is always courteous, and the service is quick. The chicken salad, tuna salad, beef taco wrap are amazing. I did try the BBQ chicken wrap and it was okay. Not enough BBQ sauce for my liking and I would have more in the wrap or on the side. There are an number of healthy drinks available, like Bai5. I recommend anyone looking for a quick bite to eat stop by. read more

Otherworldly comes to mind when I chew into this creation. Wish they were closer to Morristown!

Best bagels in the Flemington area hands down. Bagels are always soft and fresh, not to mention mouth watering.

Main St Bagel Co is one of the best around Flemington. When I first moved here I thought there would be better Bagel places but unfortunately there aren't. Anyway this place helped fill the void. The owner is extra nice and he has a better than average bagel selection. Their breakfast and lunch are both phenomenal especially the grilled chicken Bagel. Seating is good. It's not amazing but for a bagel place it's above par especially because they have outdoor seating too. The environment inside is good as well. read more

We live about 30 min from Main St Bagel but now that we've discovered it, we will definitely come back. I love these bagels. I prefer them over The Bagel Club actually. Not to mention it's downtown, so it's nice to get a bagel or sandwich and sit outside eating breakfast. I've actually only been INSIDE once, usually my boyfriend goes and gets the paper and grabs some bagels or a sandwich on Sunday morning. I love poppy seed bagels, and I really hate when all of the seeds on just on the top of the bagel. You don't have to worry about that here, these bagels are LOADED on whatever it is that you ordered. I love getting a bagel where BOTH sides are poppy, not just the top. They also have a jalapeno cheddar bagel that my boyfriend loves. read more

Longest wait time ever for an egg sandwich! Second visit and last one, doesn't need to be that difficult to fry an egg.

Bagels are an absolute disgrace. Dense and never feel fresh. Go to Bagel Club to get bagels with chew. Even Panera represents Jersey bagels better than this dump. Any Jersey native who rates this place with anything more than 1 star has clearly never experienced an authentic bagel. Save your time and money. read more
