1st visit to Hot Bagels & Deli. The gentleman who took our order was friendly & informative (didn't catch his name). There were a ton of choices on the menu. I ordered a pumpernickel bagel with Taylor ham, egg, & cheese. The fillings were good but oddly the pumpernickel (which looked right) didn't taste right. It wasn't inedible but it was missing an ingredient (rye or molasses or something), it just tasted like oddly plain bread. Pumpernickel is my favorite go-to, so I was a bit disappointed. My spouse had a dried tomato bagel with the same fillings as mine & he enjoyed his. I would say that the restaurant could use a bit of a refresh, along with boxes opened up & dealt with (ex: several boxes of tables or chairs lying on the ground). I needed to take a headache pill while there & sadly there was no access to drink a little tap water (I did find a cup and some ice and managed with that). I think this location has potential especially with its location, but hope they might have some time to put in a bit more detail to freshening the space, a bit of elbow grease, and ensuring proper ingredients. This bagel store in Clinton is awesome!I've been going here for years to pick up a breakfast sandwich, coffee, bagels, pastries, ect. Everything is always fresh and delicious!!! The service is great and the staff is very welcoming. There is also a new server there who seems to be hustling and doing everything in the store. He is super friendly and a hard worker. He said that his name is Gavin and that he's working there for the summer before he goes back to college. I'm certainly going to miss seeing him as I'm sure that his coworkers will as well! I would highly recommend this bagel store to pick up your favorite breakfast sandwiches, pastries, bagels, coffee, and more. There are better places to go to. I came in here once. The kid in the back making my sandwich had wrapped it and then dropped it on the floor. I can't say that it wasn't intentional but it was wrapped. I just can't shake the feeling it wasn't an accidental fall. The bagel sandwich I got was substantial. I honestly should have went Muheisen Bagels but I was in a time crunch. Now I know better, time crunch or not I rather have a more sanitary and delicious meal then a more convenient and questionable one. Hot Bagels was a lifesaver for me. We found out at 5:30 p.m. on a Sunday that my son needed 24 bagels for his team. We needed them ready before he went to school the next morning. This place has by far the best bagels and breakfast sandwiches in the entire Clinton area. It puts Bagelsmith off exit 12 on 78 to shame! If you love breakfast sandwiches like I do, I recommend the "Bobo" with salt. pepper & ketchup. A Bobo is a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich with hash browns in the center. It comes on a roll, but I'd suggest going for one of their freshly made everything bagels. My wife loves The Hobo & the Sobo seems delicious as well. The two guys who run the joint are extremely friendly and fun to chat with. Plus, they love soccer and its always on the TV when I go in, which is a bonus for me. So I don't get the great reviews for their bagels. They're not bad but definitely not 4 or 5 stars. They're a little too doughy but importantly their Everything bagels lacked enough seasoning. The food is good, prices are very reasonable, bagels are excellent - and BIG. A lot bigger than the munchkins they're slingin' at Clinton Bagel Co. Yet, I avoid going to Hot Bagels whenever possible. When I walk in there, I get nothing but a grimace from the owner. This is the standard greeting for males. When a girl walks into Hot Bagels, the owner's face lights up like Griswold's house. The service is slow. They often get overwhelmed with only a few customers in the store; I get stuck waiting around for my order all the time. Take a look at the picture of the "pork roll" and egg sandwich they made me today. Does that pork roll look a lot like bacon to you? It looked a lot like bacon to me as well. It also tasted a lot like bacon. You may have also noticed that there is only 1 egg on that giant fluffy bagel. That's because I made the mistake of not asking for more meat and more egg. Unless you ask for more, you will get 1 piece of each. The ratio of bun to meat to egg is all wrong. Start with 2 pieces of each and add more accordingly. It's not rocket scientry. Adding ketchup with ensure that is all you taste. Mmmmm, ketchup bread. On your way out, don't forget to check your order; my sandwiches are wrong about 60% of the time. read more

Only issue was the two chefs in the back working directly with the food weren't wearing their masks during the entire 15-20 minutes we were waiting, while while talking and coughing.
