What a gem of a spot! I visited Polka Dot Café today with my daughters, and we had such a wonderful experience. My girls had a peanut butter & jelly sandwich and scrambled eggs with toast and bacon, while I enjoyed a tuna sandwich. Everything was absolutely delicious and you could immediately tell it was homemade. The atmosphere is wholesome, warm, and welcoming. The owner was incredibly sweet and friendly, especially with my daughters, which made the visit feel extra special. One of the highlights for my kids was the chalkboard tables. They were thrilled to be able to draw while we waited for our food! The café is filled with charming local art, playful gnome decorations, and an overall cozy vibe that makes you feel right at home. This is the MOST AMAZING Brie and fig sandwich--every bite is PERFECTION! I couldn't believe my tastebuds. My 5 yo, who doesn't eat meat, kept asking for bites (and I got it with bacon). Seriously, I've ordered this everywhere and THIS CAFE IS INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS! Also, it's adorable as all get out and such friendly service! This quaint cafe sits 50' from the head of the Columbia Trail. After our morning ride, we entered the cafe to mouth watering smells (frying bacon) and a welcoming woman (Christina) who runs the place. I was lucky enough to have two tasty treats - 1/2 of an Egg Sandwich and 1/2 of a Grilled brie sandwich. The egg sandwich is served on a homemade beer bread roll - it's thick to sop up the runny egg yolk but still very light. Both sandwiches were very flavorful, portion size is good but not overwhelming. I wish we had a place like this in my town, but if I'm ever in the area again...I'll definitely stop in again as there were so many more things on the menu I'd like to try (especially the deserts!) read more

Stopped here after walking the Columbia Trail. SO CUTE! The owner is warm and welcoming, and it actually feels like you're dining in a friends home. The homemade bread was OUTSTANDING on the sandwiches. I ordered the brie and jam sandwich, while my aunt ordered the chicken salad sandwich. Portions are a little small but everything was so delicious and you can tell everything is made from scratch. I also loved the iced tea selections for a hot day. I chose the mint and it was super refreshing. Ice cream varieties were super cool. The vanilla and cherry cheesecake definitely have a rich taste to them. We enjoyed this experience so much and can't wait to come back soon! They also have many to go items like soups, desserts and such, as well as books, candles, and so on. A GEM! read more

I enjoyed the food, the chunky chicken salad sandwich, and the milkshake. However when it was time to pay it was a shock. I figured my bill should have added up to around $15.00. Menu price Chunky chicken salad sandwich $9.95, My Milkshake $2.75. The total was a whopping $21.00, the Chunky Chicken Salad $11.95, and the Milkshake $7.95 plus tax. If I had paid first I would have either cancelled the sandwich or the milkshake or walked out. The menu on the clipboard is old does not have an updated menu price list, and remember to ask first what the total bill is first then decide if you want to there. read more

My family and I just finished a bike ride at Columbia Trails and wanted to find a place for a late afternoon lunch. Polka Dot cafe, located right across the street from The Commons parking lot is everything and more! Cute and quaint on both the outside and in. The menu has all the basic staples (grilled cheese, BLT, Pb&j etc.) and they are made to perfection on their homemade bread with the freshest ingredients. We completed our meal with 3 different types of the homemade ice cream that were literally the best we have ever had and 1 PB cookie for my lactose free kiddo, and said it was "heaven in her mouth." We tried the coffee & cookies, Willie Wonkamairer, and the PB cookies. The owner, Christina, who also runs the Polka Dot cafe is so sweet and truly cares about your experience. She told us how the Willie Wonkamairer was named after her son who worked in a chocolate factory! We will be driving back just to visit Christina (thank you!) and the Polka Dot cafe - screw the bike ride! read more

Stopped here for some lunch after biking the Columbia Trail. So glad it was open even though it was a Monday. My husband and I split the breakfast sandwich and the melted brie with fig jam and bacon. Both were so good! Melted cheese, a runny egg, homemade bread and some of the best bacon I've had in awhile. It did not disappoint! The cafe itself is cute with a very eclectic and homey feel. I don't normally take the time to write reviews, but I went here for the first time for lunch today and absolutely loved everything. It's a small, intimate place, and very homey. Their loaded meatloaf sandwich was fantastic. It had so much flavor and every condiment perfectly complimented one another. I'll certainly be back for more. If that wasn't enough for me, their dessert is to die for. All of the cookies are prefectly baked and the selection of ice cream is mouth-watering. It blows my mind that its all handmade. I had the Caramel Candy Crunch and it was one of the top 5 ice creams I've ever had in my life. The ice cream is served in a 10 oz container and I finished it in less than 10 minutes if that tells you anything. Do yourself a favor and stop into this local treasure. Homemade ice cream, bread, soup, baked goods, breakfast and lunch options galore...multiple choices for a vegetarian (and more for my meat eating boyfriend). The owner Christina also creates and keeps a wall of brochures at the front of her shop for people to get to know the town's bike trails, shops, and history - including one about the High Bridge Incident, the experience of alien contactee Howard Menger! A very welcome addition to Main Street High Bridge, the Polka Dot Cafe, just down from the Columbia Trail, is wonderful. Bright with fun decor, we had a great lunch of homemade soup (chicken noodle and tomato), with toasted cheese on home made multi grain bread. Cider to accompany it, and a loaf of bread and a brownie to go. The quality of the food was very good, and while we were there, neighborhood kids came in to order bowls of ice cream, and families on bikes came down from the trail for lunch. There are also many brochures on what to do in the area, and gifts for sale. I highly recommend the Polka Dot cafe! read more

It has a cheerful, bright, "vintage-small-town" atmosphere. Lots of gluten free offerings. Homemade soups, STELLAR, almost all are gluten free. They use homemade bread, which can be purchased by the loaf. . . . flavors like tomato-basil and coffee, as well as more familiar ones like honey-oat and multigrain. . new ones always being added. The bread has gluten so I have had it, but I know it is super popular and smells fantastic! The bread and the personal pizzas particularly draw people in. They have the BEST ice-cream anywhere, also homemade! Smokin' Mocha is my favorite. (It has made me give up commercial ice cream). And there is always a variety of baked deserts (most happen to be GF), and Sky Roast coffee (my fave, small roaster). Newly opened and quickly became my go-to spot. read more
