When I ordered the "Paris Morning" it arrived looking like three perfectly poached eggs on my plate. When I sliced the third "egg" and put half of it into my mouth I realized it was a sculpted scoop of sour cream! I had to choke it down instead of making things awkward by spitting it out. I take responsibility for not poking at it first but I mean why make it look like a row of eggs. Also, it comes with two large potato pancakes that were deep fried. Against better judgment I ate them and good lord I had the worst heartburn from it hours later. Just a warning. Maybe get one of the many, lovely salads instead! And about that famous "Paul McCartney sat here" plaque, if they ever put one in the bathroom saying "Sir Paul relieved himself here" I can only imagine the lines and selfies that would follow. quite a delicious diner located in new jersey. my overall favorites dishes were the steamed potato and cheese pierogies that had the most hearty, comforting potato filling with the perfect bit of cheese. i also really enjoyed the lemon ricotta pancakes that were topped with the most perfect zesty lemon compote. both of these dishes really stood out to me. i liked the mocha but it tasted more like a hot coffee and had a very light chocolate flavor. overall the food was honestly incredible. i would 100% come back. service was great. of note, i did have to wait 25 minutes for a party of six and the restaurant was fairly busy so just plan ahead. read more

We love it here! First time visiting and not the last for sure. We were seated very quickly, but I am sure it gets super busy on a weekend morning. Worth the wait, in my opinion. It is very cute inside with the butterfly wallpaper and there is some seating outside for a warmer fall day. I was excited to see a lot of Polish favorites on the menu and will have to try those the next time I am back. My husband got the pancakes and I had the Paris morning breakfast (eggs, salmon, baguette, potato pancakes with cream, dill, and capers) and swapped the poached egg for scrambled eggs. It was so good and one of the crispiest potato pancakes I have ever had! My husband said he wished he had order that instead despite enjoying his pancakes. Our only complaint was that both of our iced drinks were warm on the bottom. Could be a quick fix by shaking the drinks with ice or just leaving more room in the glass to top with iced. Stopped by blue cafe on a whim today and wow I was so pleasantly surprised. Tried the chicken pesto sandwich which was amazing (the olive bread is a nice touch). I also saw they had blintzes on the menu and it peaked my curiosity as I've never had them before. These were sooo good with the blueberry compote. Food was filling and it was enough for 2 full servings for me. I ordered takeout today but the inside is cute with a few tables available. Worth the wait. Both times I've come here on a Saturday afternoon the wait has been 30-45 min, but always worth it. They do rotate and have specials and can say its the best French toast I've ever had (not pictured was the strawberry French toast) my family loved their meals as well (pancakes, toast,eggs,etc) The polish donuts were amazing treat that were light, sweet but not too sweet and airy with a little blueberry inside. I'm posting this review a little late. We went when it was warm out. I'm certain the food and service aren't any different in the colder months, but you will miss out on the outdoor dining experience, which we really enjoyed. We loved our visit to the Blu Café, but eating outside definitely added something to it. The first thing you should know if you're not familiar with the area is that street parking is definitely a challenge, but if you don't mind a short walk, there's a large municipal lot located around the corner. Also, they don't take reservations, but the turn-around time seems fairly quick. If the wait is longer, you can painlessly kill the time browsing the nearby shops. The restaurant is charming, but it's not large and we found it to be a bit claustrophobic and noisy. Fortunately, the weather was still warm, and their sidewalk tables were still bustling with customers. After a brief wait, we were seated. The staff was very friendly, and seemed eager to please, offering to answer any questions about the menu. Speaking of which, the Blue Café presents you with the happy challenge of having a menu with so many appetizing options that it's hard to choose. I went with their BLT, which is definitely not the BLT from your local diner. It has thick cut candied bacon, greens, tomato, Sriracha aioli, and is served on a fresh French baguette. I also opted for the sweet potato fries for an extra $1, but its was worth it. My father chose Eggs Benny, which has two poached eggs, thick cut candied applewood bacon on toasted baguette, is topped with Hollandaise sauce and is served with grilled asparagus (which my father opted out of). It also comes with a side of really tasty home fried potatoes. He enjoyed it, but ultimately wished they'd gone with the traditional English muffin. As creative as it sounded on the menu, the baguette really wasn't' a great foundation for eggs benedict. He liked the taste though and finished every bite. Ironically, my mother's choice, which seemed the least interesting of our three meals, turned out to be the best. She got an assuming sandwich simply called Turkey Avocado, that has oven roasted natural turkey breast, bacon, tomato, avocado, chipotle aioli on fresh multigrain bread. It didn't' even look that exciting on the plate, but the turkey was moist and flavorful, the bacon was the same delicious candied applewood bacon served on our other meals and the bread... oh the bread. I don't know where they get their multigrain bread, and I wish I had asked. It was delicious. The whole meal, and the whole experience of dining at the Blue Café was wonderful. Of course, some part of the overall experience was due to dining al fresco, but don't let that deter you from trying this place, even if it is during the winter. It was a rainy Sunday when we came to have brunch after church. Because it was wet and cold, there were tables available and we were immediately seated. I've been here a few times and often you will need to wait because it is a very popular brunch place. We were quickly asked if we would like anything to drink or have something to start. We ordered green juice and 2 lattes with almond milk. Once the order was placed, they returned to take our orders. I have to honestly say that there are so many items on the menu that I love we are always torn about what to order. On this day, we order the Polish donut, daily special, American breakfast, a mix of side dishes. Let's just say everything is top notch and why this place continues to be a top place for breakfast all week. After been here quite a few times, I highly recommend these dishes to order: ricotta lemon pancake, blintzes, Paris morning, Blue Cafe plate, pirogies, the wagyu cheese steak and the burgers. FYI. When it's really busy, be ready to just eat and go. This would not be a place to hang especially if there is a line waiting. We heard about this popular spot, so we decided to go check it out last summer. The place was packed with a handful of people waiting outside. We waited only about 15 minutes or so. There are some outdoor seatings as well, but since it was a hot summer day, we opted for an indoor seating. We got Vanilla Matcha Latte which came in a large glass. It was milky and subtly sweet, just perfect! For food, I went with Warsaw Skillet. Sausage was amazing, one of the eggs was overcooked, but the second egg was runny enough to give us egg porn. The skillet was a bit smaller in size than expected, but it was filling. My hubby went with Paris Morning. Potato pancake was delicious. Salmon was sliced thick and fresh, and the eggs were great too. A nice dish for when you are feeling extra hungry. We also tried their Pączki doughnut. It took a while for it to be brought to our table. When it, we understood the reason why it took a while. It came piping hot! Not overly sweet, so delicious and amazing! We went back in the winter for more delicious food. We got Brown Sugar-Cinnamon Latte from their "Today's Special" section of the menu. It was very cute, sprinkled with the holiday season spirit! For food, my hubby ordered the Warsaw skillet, since he really enjoyed it before. I went with Ricotta Lemon Pancakes. They were fluffy, and came with a huge dollop of lemon curd, and pancakes were filled with ricotta. Total perfection! The staffs here were very friendly, polite, and welcoming. This would have been a decent meal if I hadn't felt like cattle in a stockyard. My chum and I came by in the early afternoon this past Sunday for brunch. She brought her young pup as well, who was remarkably well-behaved; a five-star performance from beginning to end. Despite the restaurant being absolutely packed - there were customers milling outside waiting for a table the entire time we were there - the hostess was super accommodating and assured me we'd have a table within 10 minutes, complete with high chair. She was a woman of her word, and we had zero issues getting seated. The biggest problem with this place by far is that they jammed too many tables into the space. There are at least four tables that don't need to be in there, maybe more, and it would significantly improve the comfort of the patrons to get them out of there. I literally had to squeeze into my chair because it was bumping up against the back of the chair at the table behind me. Ridiculous. And at the end of the day, you can't tell me that's about anything other than a money grab. Disappointing for sure. I'd rather have the option of waiting 25-30 minutes (which, depending on the day/situation, I'd be willing to do) than five minutes to feel claustrophobic for the entire meal. It wasn't worth it for me. The food itself was very good, but the price point wasn't competitive overall. I ordered the lemon/ricotta pancakes, which were around $14, along with a vanilla latte. That in and of itself is fine, but none of the brunch entrees came with any side options, so I had to purchase those as one-offs, which meant that the side of bacon I wanted? $5 extra. The side of avocado I wanted? I think $3 extra. Same with the eggs. Now, I was pretty hungry and I don't think the average customer is ordering quite that much, but including one side on an entree wouldn't break the bank (but then maybe they'd need to get rid of some of the tables then? Who knows). But since they were unwilling to include any additional items with the main dish, my total ended up being around $30. This certainly isn't the first time I've encountered a bougie brunch spot charging extra with the sides, but coupled with the cramped conditions, etc.? Bad optic for me. I hadn't seen my chum in a while, but unfortunately I didn't feel like I truly got to catch up with her. Literally within a minute of our plates being cleared, I could feel the eyes of the hostess boring into us. Each table has a sign instructing patrons not to linger (got to turn those tables over!), but we'd been there for maybe 35 minutes. That's not ridiculous, and this isn't the newest hot spot in Chelsea. Especially if there ARE people waiting outside for tables, I'm not one to put my feet up and hang out for an extra half hour, but it was very aggressive from beginning to end. I truly don't care how good the food is - if you're surrounded by people metaphorically holding up stopwatches and glaring at you the entire time, it's flat out not going to be an enjoyable experience.
