Small place with some seating inside and outside. I ordered a jalapeño bagel, nice and chewy, with jalapeño cream cheese. Delicious and spicy but not overly so. Iced coffee was very good, nice and roasty but not bitter. Staff was courteous and our orders were filled in a reasonable amount of time. read more

$15 for a toasted bagel with cream cheese and ham!!! that is beyond ridiculous not even in New York City I pay that price for a bagel

Got an iced caramel and the cross contamination risk gave me such anxiety. The server was toasting bagels (with gloves) and then at the same time preparing my drink with the same gloves and her fingers were literally in the cup. Got handed my cup with tons of bagel crumbs on the outside. I felt bad asking her to remake it so I asked for a napkin, wiped it down, and hoped for the best (TBD if I have delayed reaction or not). Not safe food practices for people with allergies. Drink was ok tasting but if I ever come back I will be prefacing the need for better procedures with handling my drink that should not even have any risk with it in the first place. read more

Average bagels, coffee and service. It's nice inside and there are a few tables to eat but the few times I have been here it's been to go.

Pretty good for a quick lunch with fresh and healthy options. The only thing lacking in the eggplant sorrento was a little kick with some more seasoning or onion or hot peppers or something like that. Otherwise it was a hearty and fresh sandwich. My daughter enjoyed her panini with chicken cutlet that was also a pretty good size. You'll need a couple of napkins but great taste and value. The place is a casual and clean restaurant with good service. read more

Great service by the ladies who run the place. Eat in or take out. Good bagels. Average coffee.

Never enough staff, long wait times, no one answers the phone when you try to place an order.

I stopped by this place to grab a coffee and bagel before heading to work. They have a parking lot, which has lots of spots, so parking is never an issue here. I ordered a large coffee and an everything bagel with cream cheese and jelly to go. When I came inside, it wasn't crowded, so my order was ready fairly quickly. The service here was great. The staff were friendly. However, the coffee and bagel were both just very average. There is nothing wrong with being average. But nothing stood out to me with this bagel. It got the job done in satisfying my breakfast hunger. I guess I just have high standards when it comes to bagels. Overall, it's a nice spot. read more

The BEST and freshest bagels in town! So long Obagel! I'd make the drive rather then be overcharged for bagels. The sandwiches ate the best. The multiple different blends of coffees are great too. read more

Had a delicious onion bagel at this charming and quaint af little spot. I pay special attention to the attitude when I ask for my bagel to be scooped cuz I feel bad for being high maintenance. Super pleasant nice people with fresh bagels. That's all I really need. read more

WOW! Tough crowd reviewing on here. We were traveling from Long Island to Jersey over the holiday weekend. I was losing my mind over my hunger pains and demanded my boyfriend (co-pilot) find me bagels ASAP! Pulling off the highway I was a little nervous going down a winding back road to a bagel shop in a quiet little town. We had simple orders of everything bagels with cream cheese. I watched at the woman slice open two bagels, steaming as they were clearly freshly made. No qualms with service, nothing extraordinary but also not poor in the slightest. Ran our bagels back to the car and the cream cheese was pleasantly melty. The bagels had a great amount of everything seasoning and were SO soft. It went down so easily that I had wished it was bigger or just that I had gotten another! I think I'm a bit of a bagel snob. These were awesome bagels! I feel sorry to see such poor reviews. If I ever that route again, it would be well worth the stop! read more

Driving by and I seen this cafe, I instantly knew I to hit this on my way back from my destination. So I did & I went in to a sanitized well cleaned cafe. I asked for a hot chocolate & you could sip sip and it wouldn't burn your lip. Meaning it wasn't hot hot but it was just right right. The texture of the drink, sweetness, and overall chocolatey taste will definitely have me back here again when I'm passing through the town again. read more

OVERPRICED!!!!!! $19.55 for TWO (2) sausage egg and cheeses??? What a joke. There's some serious price increases going on with bagels in this area. Also they lliterally never answer the phone so it's impossible to place a pick up order. It's not that hard, just answer the phone and you'll get my business because I don't want to wait 15 mins for a sausage egg and cheese I just want to stop by and grab it on the way to work. read more

My go to bagel spot in town, amazing bagels and always worth the visit. Taylor Ham egg and cheese always a favorite.

We used Bagel Ridge & Cafe for a family event today -- and they were fantastic. They delivered beautiful platters of delicious food on time - and it's a good thing because another caterer was late and there would've been no food. Their portions are generous, they helped me through the entire process. I'm not from the area and it was a trying time in our family. They were patient and understanding. I would 100% recommend them to anyone for any kind of affair. They were wonderful. You'll be pleased and have a full belly. read more

I came in for the first time to get a bagel on my way to work. They wouldn't take my credit card for under $5 so I added an item to my order looking at the paper menu on the counter. I was charged more for that item and say ' isn't it supposed to be (pointed to price on menu)'? And the man behind the counter says no that's a 7 year old menu all of the prices went up. Are you kidding me!? How is that even legal? He acted like I should know it's an ancient menu. BEWARE: They have a stack of 7 year old menus with OLD prices. You will be charged more than whatever is on the menu. Never coming back. read more

We came here for a quick brunch of sorts. They don't have much seating here so we grabbed our food to go. Out of the 4 of us, three of us ordered the lox special and one ordered the eggplant sorrento wrap. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. I had the lox special on a plain bagel. I don't think I've ever had such a large, fluffy bagel. I've been told that that's due to them boiling the bagels before they are baked. They also put a ton of cream cheese on, which I like, and just the right amount of salmon. The bagel also had onions and tomatoes on it. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and was very satisfied with the amount of food. The only thing that sucked was that we had to wait a very long time for our order. We probably waited 15 minutes for our order. I have no idea what could've possibly taken so long as the bagels were pre-cooked. Other than the wait, everything else was great. read more

We needed to host an after-wedding breakfast at a hotel in the area and ordered bagels, breakfast sandwiches, and fruit from this cafe. The owner was very responsive and answered all of our questions immediately. Our food was delivered on time by a very friendly woman and the food we ordered was delicious. The fruit was fresh and the bagels and breakfast sandwiches were good. We would definitely order from Ridge Bagel & Cafe again! read more

Sometimes their bagels are rather hard. I don't know if they overcook them or if they're stale. It's best to check your order. On the plus side, their Taylor Ham, egg & cheese sandwiches are AWESOME!! read more

This little deli serves a huge variety of sandwiches on bagels and pita breads, also offers paninis and wraps - the menu goes on and on. Very friendly counter staff, Ridge Bagel looks like a family operation. But it gets very very busy at lunch on school days, the wait can be considerable. Take-out was quick and easy, and that's really what you should do here. You might try to eat in the cafe but they only have about 6 small tables, plus a few more seats at a counter. The counter seems to attract the school kids. Alas when I visited they were all out of everything bagels AND pita bread, so I got a ciabatta roll with mozzarella and veg toppings. It was great, no worries, just a difficult start. On another visit I tried the sloppy joe, served on two thick slices of "ray bread" (IDK, that's what the ticket said), more than enough food for two people, just $7. Vegetarian rating: 3 stars, several attractive veggie sandwiches to choose from, it's not all roast beast here. And there's always cream cheese on a bagel :) Parking at lunch is a nightmare, the small lot by the store is overwhelmed and you can't park on South Maple Ave. Try Henry Street, which connects Finley to Maple and often has a spot or two. This bagel shop opened in March 2013, the location previously housed a fabric store. read more

Very disappointed. They have a $5 minimum on charges. How many people charge more. So basically the cashier takes a 46 cent tip to make the difference. Food is fine. But this is an example of service gone bad. I don't typically go there and look for alternatives like Dunkin' Donuts now. Hope the owner sees and stops this practice. read more

I keep giving this place a chance but they continue to let me down every time and it gets progressively worse. They wouldn't cancel my order even though they were out of all 7 things that I ordered and wanted to charge me for that. The other times I ordered from here (either online or in person) I got the wrong thing every time as well as rude comments from the staff. I try my best to support local businesses but this place isn't worth it. read more

The only thing more disgusting and tasteless than the simple egg salad sandwich I paid way too much for, was the woman's attitude when I called. I ordered through doordash so I called to make sure they saw the special instructions to not put tomato, considering I'm allergic. She immediately seemed very annoyed and said "yeah I see the order" and I said "ok just making sure" without hesitation she hung up on me. Like I said, on top of that, the sandwich was inedible...I also waited over an hour and a half for it but that's more of a doordash issue. read more

I gave it a try but it just was lame. Very nice set-up: large open space, good smells, variety of coffees. Only problem: the bagels plain stunk. I ordered a sesame with sundried tomato cream cheese. Nothing complicated, I order this at O' Bagel in Basking Ridge all the time. It took a disturbingly long time to prepare and I was the only customer there. Taste: Crappy. The bagel was like a lenders bagel. Bread with a hole in it. It had no volume and didn't have any "give" when you bit it. It was like eating white bread. Kind of gooey mouth-feel. It was inexcusably tiny, too. The cream cheese was prepackaged from a tub. It was just salty and had no creaminess, and most inexcusably, had no actual tomatoes in it. It was just generic vacuum sealed Aramark slurry. O'Bagel, on the other hand, has thick cream cheese with REAL large chunks of sundried tomato mixed in by hand and TLC. Skip this place, it's just a disappointment. You have ONE Thing to get right, Ridge Bagel, and you screwed that up. Bad pizza and bad bagels are a crime against humanity in the NY metro area. I can understand if the diner screws up the manicotti with truffle sauce, but they too would be subject to the same criticism if they screwed up sunny-side up eggs. Kapisch? read more

I have been here a couple of times and I wasn't all that impressed. While the people who work there seem friendly they don't seem to be the sharpest tools in the shed. The first time I went in I ordered a cinnamon raisin bagel with plain cream cheese; the bagel had raisins but very little cinamon. It tasted like white bread with raisins thrown in. The second time I went in I had Chicken Salad on a marble rye bagel, or atleast what they claim is a Marble Rye bagel. It tasted like the tasteless "cinnamon raisin" bagel. The chicken salad was good. My problem the second time was that I paid in cash and they didn't have the right change. All they had were quarters and therefore I wasn't given accurate change. And I understand it's just a few cents, but it's the principle. If you cannot make proppee change that is an issue; I understand that you may run out or haven't gotten to the bank but to not have smaller change is an issue. I went one more time, I am a believer in the threee strikes rule. On my last and final visit I wanted Shrimp salad on a bagel, but they didn't have shrimp salad. So I had settled for chicken salad with lettuce and tomato on an everything bagel. And this bagel was a little more well done version of white bread with seeds. The lettuce was not shredded but it wasn't cut and the tomato was meely and disgusting. The chicken salad was fine to settle for. I have never been to a bagel place where all of the bagels taste the same, except this place. As extensive as the menu is they don't seem to keep the variety available. Maybe it is my fault for ordering a bagel this time, but I was hoping that over time they would learn that white bread does not make a good bagel. read more

I stopped in around 9:30 on a rainy Friday morning. I was the only person in there. Both guys behind the counter were eager to help-- still, take out was neither quick nor easy. I ordered a side of scrambled egg whites, well done with salt and pepper, and a few bagels and muffins. It took 3 tries to get the bagel order right. I wound up with powdered egg whites swimming in butter-flavored spray. Not well done; salt and pepper were MIA. Instead of a blueberry muffin, I got cranberry. But, apparently, the muffins were heavenly compared to the bagels, which were gross. There was an egg bagel in the container with my egg whites (also covered in butter spray) that I hadn't ordered but probably paid for. The outside was thin and wasn't chewy. The inside was fluffy and dry. It tasted exactly like my friend's blueberry bagel...which tasted exactly like my other friend's cinnamon raisin bagel. The bottled-beverage selection was...well, there wasn't a "selection." No salads. No fresh fruit. So probably no more visits by me. read more

Average bagel place with lots of sandwich options. I like that there is plenty of seating and it's very casual. Even when it's busy, the wait for a table isn't long. If you get coffee, they give you a cup to make your own. Parking isn't too bad on a Sunday, surprisingly, there's plenty of parking in the lot. I noticed they didn't have the best service to some customers, and some people had to wait quite a while for their order. Service can be a bit slow and a line can easily build up as they seem to really take their time. read more

I've been here 2 or 3 times but am done now. Once I just went in for coffee, which was weak. Today I ordered the avocado supreme sandwich, which is supposed to have fresh mozzarella and avocados ($6). They forgot to put in the mozz, so I ended up receiving pretty much a little salad in a wrap. I was the only person in the store at the time so it's not like they were busy. Everyone makes mistakes, no big deal, but since there are better delis in the area I'll just go to those. read more

Don't ask for your change! When I pointed out to the employee handling my iced coffee order - someone around 15 years old - that I was due $3.00 change, having paid $5.40 for a $2.40 purchase, the response was silence and a blank stare. I said "You owe me three dollars." A supervisor came over, and grudgingly handed me three bucks. A few minutes later the manager came outside, where I was sitting with friends, and literally screamed at me. The young employee - clearly underage and untrained - apparently became upset when I requested my change. If you want to be yelled at, come here. read more

Ordered here for the first time and it was the nastiest food I've ever had. I had to throw out the entire order because everything taste so bad like it was old, sitting out and they just reheated it. Very disappointing since I constant see this place really crowded on the weekends. read more

Delicious bagels, wrap sandwiches, organic juices and organic coffee available. Owner takes pride on offering a quaint atmosphere and some seating available. I'm appalled at some of the reviews. This is great local spot in downtown Basking Ridge. For folks that don't understand the realities of the cost of rent and how it relates to the cost of food, please keep your comments to yourself. This is the Somerset HIlls and those of us who can afford to live here, can afford to pay a bit more for goods and services. If we want local businesses to stay in business we need to support them. Comparing the food and coffee here to Dunkin Donuts is like comparing fine dining to McDonalds. Better food, better coffee, better service and a terrific location. read more

Will never come back here again. I came here for a light lunch. I ordered a coffee. I then asked for an additional cup because my coffee cup was very hot and the sleeves for a hot beverage didn't provide enough protection. I was charged $.85 for an extra cup. I travel extensively all over the country and globally and I've never been charged money for a empty paper cup. Don't bother coming here. There are many other terrible reviews about the place as well. There are many other options in Basking Ridge and the surrounding area for a nice sandwich, bagel, or coffee that are way better. Very disappointing. read more

Isn't it nice when you go somewhere for a cup of coffee and they have everything you want - from flavored syrups & brews to a variety or sweeteners & spices? No extra charge. This is why I love Ridge Bagel and will drive across town for them. The bagels are delicious & flawless, but it's the owner's attention to detail & comfort that draws me in. He recently put out nice pavers, grass and 4 outdoor tables so his customers could enjoy the summer weather. Really awesome guy! read more

There Bagels are horrible but they make it up by charging high prices. They even charged me tax on a non taxable item

I had a horrible experience with this restaurant on October 19th. The food is not good and it is overpriced compared with other local bagel shops in town. The bagels are not fresh. When I had a question about my bill - the owner (Kal) yelled at me and threatened to call the police. I have never encountered a local business owner that treated their customers with such hostility. After reading other reviews here I see that there is a pattern. I wish I had checked here first so I could have saved myself a lot of trouble. read more

First, the prices for a basic breakfast sandwich is absolutely outrageous in a bad way. Second, I will never spend another dime at this place. I placed my order in advance and waited in line.
