The interior is nice and bright with tables to dine in and there's also a few tables outside. A cool feature is that you can see the bagels being made behind the glass. A food influencer I follow was there on Saturday and suggested the chicken salad. She wasn't wrong! I ordered chicken salad on a plain bagel to go and it was outstanding! The bagel had a great crisp and the chicken salad was well made. This shop is in a new housing development which is still under construction so getting in and parking takes some patience. Their bagels are a little on the staler side even when toasted and they're quite small compared to other locations in livingston. For those reasons I believe this location is below average due to its portion to price ratio.

The Sandwich on the other hand was mediocre and not at all what I was looking for. I guess I expected something better from this place by it's appearance and location but it definitely fell short of my expectations.    In my opinion Ike's has freshness issues and it shows in their final product. To me, these Bagels seem like they've been sitting around a while. Plus the Taylor Ham I ordered tasted a little off so I'm hopping that's not a quality control concern either.   Lastly for whatever reason toppings just don't stick to these Bagels. I ended up with a plateful of toppings and zero left on the Sandwich. My Quest for Great Bagels in Livingston Continues

Ditch Panera! The bagels at this Manhattan Bagel location are out of this world! I am always…read moreimpressed by how large the bagels are without sacrificing taste or otherwise quality. Even better than the bagels? The staff are so sweet and very much reflect warmth, even when it's almost closing time on a Saturday (I am ashamed to say that is the time I usually stop by). The manager, Vianey, is so kind, and the conversations I have had with her, although short, have been wonderful. Back to the bagels-- have you ever had a FRENCH TOAST BAGEL?? It exists! It's dessert for breakfast, but not in the typical sugar crash when you get to the office type of breakfast. I've attached some pictures I took of the french toast bagel. I believe they knead the dough with streaks of sugar and goodness without over-doing it. Chef's kiss. I also do have to note that they wrap their bagels very well, and it will not stain the inside of your purse (this has happened to me at other places before and I am not a fan of dirtying my purse for breakfast). There are also plenty of tables and food and drink options that are not bagels like muffins, pastries, cookies, a myriad of flavors of juice and lemonade, coffee, and a huge variety of bagel sandwiches which I have yet to try, but I will be taking myself on a solo date here when the weather gets warmer, and I will have to restrain myself from buying the whole menu.

And to me that's obviously the case. My Taylor Ham, Egg, Cheese, with Avocado on an Everything Bagel Sandwich was dynamite deliciousness. Gotta also add that I was totally impressed with how all the toppings had held on throughout the entire session. They offer a Freshly Brewed Coffee Station where customers can make their own cup exactly how they want it. I've always preferred this method over someone else making my cup and adding way too much sugar or creamer. No thanks, just show me where the cups are and I'll take it from here  Lol. Service is friendly fast and efficient, my order was ready as soon as I finished making my perfectly blended cup of 100% Arabican Bean Brew. Chatham's generally a pleasant sleepy downtown next town over from me in Summit…read more Well, except for one bad place down the street from Chatham Bagels (see my other reviews) but this little hole in the wall (pun intended) had a line out the door as I drove by on Memorial Day and a line means fine. Rainy miserable day today so since I had a rainy miserable ten hour work session at home day ahead, I stopped by. Now I'm not some bagel aficionado but one lady next to me on line who looked like she knew from bagels. She cheerfully regaled the weary line by raving she can't find any good bagels in Connecticut so when she's in Chatham town, she loads up on these. True to her word, she left with a sack of 'em. She had also ordered ahead but waited in line anyway - polite is fantastic. Guy next to her on line engaged her about Fairfield Connecticut where his son went to college. He crowed in a friendly way that his son encountered "like minded people" at the local college m and that was soon followed by mentioning Wall Street jobs and his son's "sugar momma". Why do I mention the on-line patter banter? Because it illustrated how Chatham types are generally convivial so I'd expect no less friendly chit chat if you go to Chstham Bagels and if you happen to be "like minded", of course. Blabbing passed the time while the two quiet Chatham Bagel men were working their tails off cranking out all orders fresh. Lastly? I just finished my bagel sandwich and pretty darn good! And just maybe enjoying the morning magic of preparing and enjoying good bagels makes everyone like minded here!

The bagels had some crisp on the bottom where it had browned but almost none on the top. The dough has a welcome bit of flavor to it, as if they use just enough salt in the recipe to elevate the bready taste. This is a fluffy-style bagel but it has slightly more structure than others in the category, so it has a slight edge when making sandwiches. The cream cheese was light and smooth, so complemented it well.

The bagel is ginormous, fresh, and homemade -- they must have made it with holy water or something because it was THAT good. Still warm, with this perfect chew to it -- doughy in the best way possible, but fully cooked. You know that texture where it's dense and chewy but not raw? That. I don't know how else to describe it other than just perfect. The sandwich itself? Banging. Egg cooked to perfection, great amount of steak, perfect portion of cheese. This is exactly what you close your eyes and picture when you think of a steak, egg, and cheese on a plain bagel. Do yourself a favor and get this every single time. I cannot stress it enough. A note on ambiance and service: I typically cover these in my reviews, but I ordered on Uber Eats. Fast and packaged well. The bagel was so good I had to say something anyway. Overall: 5/5
