This was my go-to bagel shop for over 10 years. I stopped in once a week to treat my team to breakfast. When I switched jobs, I had to go 5 miles out of my way to buy and bring bagels to my new crew. These guys sell bagels in a white bag and when I walked in with the door carrying one, there was a buzz in the room... Pretty cool. Taste, size and variety matches Mountain Lakes Bagels - a shop I also like. They are a few cents cheaper here too but that's not what still brings me here. The owner - almost always behind the counter - delivers a smile with the bagels. He makes me feel welcome and truly seems to like serving his customers. That deserves my loyalty. They have parking and decent service (meaning fast) so I have never waited very long for my order. Definitely one of the better bagel places in the area. And, yes, their style of bagel is more bread-like than the purist "concrete donut" bagel... Recommended if you like bagels. read more

I've been to most of the bagel shops in this area but for whatever reason, I've never stopped in at Bagelicious. This is a small place in a strip mall on Rt 46 in Rockaway. I just got a bagel to go, but they do have a couple of tables for dining in. I ordered an everything bagel with vegetable cream cheese. I would say that it was fine. The cream cheese was a little light, but not too major. Is this the best bagel place around? No, but it was fine if you're in the area and just need that quick bagel. Service was very friendly. The best thing about this place is the name "Bagelicious" it gives one the impression that you're gonna find Delicious Bagels here. Instead, what you will find is a pretty good selection of decent roll-style bagels, unimpressive looking danish, and below average cream cheese options. Hey so I finally found a place that sells Bialys but these don't look anything like the Brooklyn ones that I remember, sorry Pamela but the quest continues ;) One more thing, it's 2019 can places like this stop using Styrofoam cups already? We've been going here for years but as of two weeks ago--never again. Popped in to order dozen bagels and a few bagel sandwiches. The young kid who took our order proceeded to make the bagel sandwiches without gloves, was literally coughing onto the food and to make matters worse, was cleaning the knife with what looked like a filthy cleaning rag. The owner with the mustache has no clue what's going on. Had to tell him 3 times how I wanted my coffee and bagel. His heads in the clouds. He doesn't wear gloves or masks when preparing sandwiches. As I said with another review, when I have a weekday off I find myself looking for new places to try even if it means cheating on my old standby favorites. Today I decided I would try TWO bagel places in Rockaway as I had to pass them both on the way to Home Depot. Bagelicious is a pretty small shop, but offers big happy bagels. I ordered a Taylor Ham, egg, and cheese on an everything and turned to grab a cup of coffee, but there is no coffee station-they pour your java here. Not my favorite thing in the world so I skipped the coffee. They have nice sized bagels here, similar in size and texture to my favorite bagel place. Service here was fast and friendly. Sandwich was good, but the meet was a little underdone-not a game ended, but I couldn't tell if it was real Taylor Ham or a cheaper substitute. My taste buds failed me. Prices are also a bit higher than I usually pay by about $.50 a sandwich, but the individual bagels are cheaper by $.05. The place also looked like it could use a bit of cleaning...not dirty like I won't eat there again, but just a little messy in the customer area. They didn't replace my favorite bagel place, but they offer a pretty solid effort. I'll be back. read more

Very rude, terrible service, watch out for the credit card scam, they run your card, pretend it doesn't work, then ask for cash, then you find out the card did work and you were doubled charged. Everytime I order, some part of the order is wrong. Today I ordered a cinnamon raisin bagel with butter. They toasted it. Butter melted everywhere. I hate toasted bagels with butter so I didn't eat it. Had to throw it away. Also, it wasn't ready when I went to pick it up 25 mins after calling it in. Always slow. It is ashame because their bagels are actually pretty good but the experience kills it for me every single time. Also, I work for a local business and we order breakfast about 3x a week. We used to order from them but they messed those orders up as well, and it was never ready when we went to pick up. Can't ever get a simple order correct!! Ordered a chocolate chip bagel, got a chocolate chip muffin. Ordered a sandwich on a toasted bagel, sandwich came on toast. Ordered olive cream cheese, got plain (and gross plain at that). Even when they read the order back, they STILL get it wrong! For a number of years, this as well as Denville bagels, were my to go bagel shop for a number of years. I stopped in each weekend. If I went to Denville, it was apparently Egyptian run and you got the full NYC hustle bagel experience. You also got excellent bagels which were worth the wait and the lines out the door. When I would go to Bagelicious in Rockaway, I got very good bagels yet, Denville held the edge in quality and service. Fast forward to many years being out of the area and Denville Bagels suck ( seems the WTC bomber owners skipped town... we used to joke with them in 93 about the first WTC bombing so...cool your PC jets, it was a mutual ribbing) Taste, size, shape, crust and interior chewiness and pull was good years ago at Bagelicious. On a recent visit, I hate to say that the bagels suck and service by employees and even the owner is crap. I went to Bagelicious after not visiting there for a number of years. The place looked the same, except everything looked old. Obviously, profits are not returned to the business for improvements. This is not very important as, I take my bagels to go and can appreciate dives. I observed upon entering that their small refrigerated display case was largely empty and held some forlorned cold cuts and a small container of whitefish salad that looked past its prime (you can go to Shop Rite down the road and get whitefish salad for less than 5 bucks a pound versus almost 10 bucks here). I saw that their bagels looked odd in their display baskets. All were round, large, bloated and had no hole in the center. Despite the warning signs, I proceeded to buy just a few bagels with cream cheese. Here is where it gets stupid. I go to pay and present my credit card for a $6.00 purchase. So, the girl walks to the far side of the counter almost behind their refrigerator case and runs my card. The amount I was charged was incorrect. Oh, it was explained to me that if I charged less than ten dollars that a $.50 fee applied. Well, screw you ! There was no sign on the register, the menu or anywhere apparent. To add insult to injury, I had cash. I politely resisted and said I would be happy to pay this charge if I were informed, however, there is no clear information on this topic. The worker brought out the owner who belittlingly said what is the problem, it is only a fifty cent charge. He even claimed it was his money and went on to whine that he has to pay so much in credit card processing fees. He claimed he paid up to $3.89 per transaction. That is BS and if it were true, you need to do your homework and get a better deal. I responded: it´s my money, not yours. You have a big menu and plenty of space to warn people of your policy yet, you failed to do so. The owner proceeded to object because I wanted money that he claimed belonged to him. F** him. He posts prices for products and then does not advice about possible surcharges - which are often illegal or against the credit card processor policies. His argument was that all of his regulars knew... well how the f**K do you expect to make me a regular..... I did not relent and he gave me my $.50 back. I despise sleazy business practices and will hunt people down like him until he sees the truth. Bottom line: sleazy business practices with a whiney incompetent, dishonest business owner and shitty bagels. I`ll never go there again. In fact, while I argued my point, my brother left the business to avoid this a**hole and my litigious pursuit of this contemptible whiner. Definitely one of the worst bagel places in the area. ( Brooklyn Bagel in Randolph is very much in the running) And, yes, their style of bagel is more bread-like than a real NY, Brooklyn bagel. Avoid at all costs. I'm new to the area and wanted to give Bagelicious a try this morning since i had visited the competition across Route 46 and was not impressed with their offerings. As some posters have written, Bagelicious is small and could use a renovation, but their menu and breakfast offerings are top notch. I thought their coffee was good too. Prices are quite reasonable. Joe the owner came out of the kitchen to welcome me to Morris County and spent close to 10 minutes speaking to me about the area which i thought was an extremely classy and gracious gesture. Went here today to satisfy my craving for a bagel with egg whites and cheese. They had a whole wheat everything bagel, which I love. My sandwich was $3.25 (pretty reasonable I thought) with a good amount of cheese- and the bagel itself! Fluffy and chewy with the right amount of crispness to the crust, which is not easy to achieve with the denseness of whole wheat flour. A perfect Jersey bagel! I placed a large order for bagels for Christmas Day. As with other reviewers I have noticed that the lines have been getting longer and the time to get to the register longer. I think a lot of the delay is that people are ordering sandwiches that are being made to order and this is something that adds time to the others in line. I do not mind waiting a couple extra minutes for the high-quality bagels that I am accustomed to. It would be nice if they found a way to organize the ordering process to take care of customers faster. My personal favorite is the cranberry orange bagel. read more
