I've been going to the same bagel place in Mt. Lakes for 15+ years. Decided to try Abe's bagel house right on 46 in Rockaway and it was the best! Cute little environment, some nice eating tables and the real prize is the bagels. Delicious and tasty with a chewy interior and crisp outer. The everything bagel was probably the best I've ever had. Abe opened up about three years ago and it's great to support a family owned business. They are very welcoming and have great coffee as well. I had a Taylor him egg and cheese sandwich and it was truly one of the best I've had. read more

This is not a bagel, this is basically a roll. Very unsatisfied, the flavor is fine but the structure is squishy/chewy and not in a good way. They also initially gave my order to someone else and had to remake it. Abe the owner offered to fix it by giving me a free sandwich next Sunday, but I won't be returning. Manhattan Bagel in Wharton is WAAAAAY better by comparison. Sorry to Abe, I wanted this to be a great place but it's just not up to par as a native NJ resident that's lived in many places the state. read more

By far the best experience I have EVER had. Coming from the Midwest, I YEARN for bagel / deli culture and Abe's doesn't miss. I feel like I was a part of the community when I was just visiting for work! They were so kind, patient, and DELICIOUS!! They have a stok cold brew machine and for that alone, 5 stars. The bagel I had was fluffy with delicious cream cheese. Come Here if you want to feel like family! read more

The bagels are rather large so most times I only eat half but they are really delicious and always fresh. Abe is very nice too. The egg sandwiches are also very good. read more

We were visiting New Jersey area and found ourselves coming back a couple times to get Abe's bagels! So yummy!! I got the everything bagel, and my daughter got plain. read more

Amazing bagel haul from the app! We did a Too Good To Go order and got an enormous bag of fresh bagels. We feasted on them for days. Would definitely recommend. Unfortunately, it's a bit far to visit regularly, but if it were closer, it would be our go-to bagel place. read more

Came back almost a year later and wow, totally different experience. They had more of a groove going on in there this time around. Still a great cup of cold brew, but this time they automatically gave me a cup of ice (last time I needed to ask for it). I also like the fun sphere ice cubes: The main game changer was the quality of their taylor ham. They were using a weird brand the last time, but now they got the right one. I also asked for well done and they understood the mission. Excellent work! read more

Love this plac! Fantastic bagels. Friendly owner. What else can you ask for? :). Thanks Abe!

Abe's Bagel House is a fantastic spot for a satisfying breakfast. I had a deliciously cheesy Taylor ham, egg, and cheese sandwich on an egg bagel--next time, I'll ask for the Taylor ham well done. The French toast bagels looked incredible, and the staff kept orders moving efficiently despite the steady crowd. Plenty of parking and seating available. Definitely my new go-to bagel spot! read more

Was a longtime customer at another bagel store and after multiple disappointing experiences with that place, I decided to try Abe's for the first time! My only regret is not going to Abe's sooner! The bagels and sandwiches are great! Abe, Joe and the entire staff are really friendly and can tell they appreciate their customers! read more

Great spot to get a good bagel! I had the chicken salad on a marble rye bagel - delicious. Our party had 3 egg, bacon and cheese bagels - yum coffee was good and service was great. We highly recommend you stop in here. read more

After seeing TeamTaylorNJ's 9.1 review of Abe's Bagel House in Rockaway I had to give it a shot. I did try their taylor ham, egg, and cheese sandwich, only I had it on a everything bagel (untoasted). The large bagel, which was delicious, soft and chewy in the center with a nice crunchy crust, was excellent. Don't let the picture fool you, it was packed with 4 slices of taylor ham, two eggs, and cheese, but the generous size of the bagel may have overshadowed the fillings in the photo, but believe me, it was quite a satisfying meal. A spacious, modern, sparkling store, with good seating. In a small strip mall off Rt. 46 W, with adequate parking. Nice stop, and well worth a visit. 04/11/2024 read more

Thanks to a Yelp friend's review, I found out about Abe's Bagel House this weekend. Today, I had a chance to stop in for lunch. This bagel store is a great addition to Rockaway! It's located right on Rt 46 in a strip mall with a big parking lot. The owner was super friendly. The place was nice and clean inside with plenty of seating. Everything is made fresh and there's a large selection of bagels and cream cheese. I went with a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on an Everything bagel. The sandwich was excellent with the eggs cooked just right. The sandwich with a nice cup of coffee was just what I was looking for! If you're in the area, give this new local business a try! Thank me later! read more

I highly recommend this spot for delicious bagels!! If your I. The Dover area give it stop and try!!

Randomly chose the nearest bagel shop while traveling. Wow! I am picky about my bagels and these are exceptional. Great flavor, light and fluffy on the inside, perfect texture on the outside. Huge, round delightful discs. Not dense and hard to chew. Met Abe. He said he's perfected his bagel recipe, and I agree. He and his staff are working very hard. 1 year in business after cleaning up a space that sat empty for 10 years. He said he's saving up for a $4000 slicer. It's a small shop with only a few tables in an older strip of retail stores. There are at least 8 homemade flavors of cream cheese and other specialties. I like these so much, they are worth going out of your way to try them. I intend to talk Abe into shipping them to me. So special. read more

People working here are rude. Bagels taste like Costco bagels. I won't waste my time here.

Pretty decent bagel house! The bagels are nice and round, perfectly fluffy and delicious. I love the size of the bagel, and the chewiness. I ordered a classic bacon, egg and cheese on a cinnamon raisin bagel and it did not disappoint. I was full for the entire day, that's how big it was. It was also priced well. Can't wait to go back and try their cream cheese. read more

Grabbed some breakfast sandwiches for my wife and I this morning. The sandwich was really good, reasonably priced, and a good ratio of bacon, egg, and cheese (plus the chipotle mayo was solid). The gentleman and lady working the counter were very polite and it looked like the place had a great flow to it despite being a little busy. Very clean and simple design, I actually really liked their pricing board, easy to read and covered everything. read more

This place is the absolute best. I will never get a bagel anywhere else. Full loyalty to Abe's always. Such nice people and the bagels are nice and chunky with a perfect crisp outside and soft inside. WOW. As a bagel connoisseur, I have found my winner. read more

Abe's bagels are always good and never disappoint! We moved into the area less than a week ago and have already been back 4 times. It's one of the only things that I've been able to eat with my first trimester food aversions, so I owe Abe big time! My go to is an everything bagel with cream cheese not toasted and it's great each time! My husband gets the toasted everything bagel with scallion cream cheese and bacon and says it's one of the best bagels he's ever had. Everyone inside is kind and the seating is really nice and modern. Hoping to see them continue to thrive! read more

Abe's Bagel House - Everything Bagel with Cream Cheese - Bagels Near Me - Rockaway, New Jersey

Wife & I just recently moved into the area and were desperate to find a solid bagel shop nearby. Luckily for us Abe's is more than just adequate -- home to some of the best bagels we've had in quite some time! Over the past week we've ordered from here 4 or 5 times, it's that good. We were super impressed with the bagel quality and Abe definitely doesn't skimp on the cream cheese. The service is also amazing -- Abe is super friendly and always working the front and chatting people up. Stuff like that goes a long way, plus he's a Jets fan so he gets extra points in my book. Ultimately, we lucked out being only 5 minutes away from Abe's but I think we'd make the trip even if it was way more than that. read more

My husband and I found this place by accident and it is awesome!!!! We stopped in on our way to the airport and grabbed a dozen bagels to bring to Florida and a couple sandwiches for lunch. Great bagels, easy to get to, plenty of parking. Will definitely be back to try a few more flavors.

My local friends rave about this bagel baker. We stopped in to see if it is as good as the crowd sourcing proclaims. No spoilers...their bagels are really good. Crusty on the outside (my wife's preference) and not doughy inside (my preference). The size makes it practically a whole meal ... love that on a hungry morning. The staff is the extra special feature. Engaging, friendly and fast. Win, win, win. We will be back for sure. Recommended. read more

Amazing service and even better food! That maple honey walnut spread on a blueberry bagel was better than I could've expected!

Came in from out of town. The bagel's were awesome and the customer service was just as awesome. The gentlemen running the counter was incredibly friendly and a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommend. read more

Abe's bagels are huge! They have whole wheat everything bagels, which are my jam. Their Taylor ham, egg, cheese sandwiches are delicious and perfectly cooked. One of the more unique features is their cream cheese selection. On top of your normal flavors, Abe has 2 different spicy cream cheeses: one jalapeño and one spicy veggie with lots of pepper flakes. I am a huge fan! My kids enjoyed the strawberry cream cheese and the maple walnut. Go see Abe and team! You won't be disappointed! Aside from the huge bagels, awesome cream cheese, great sandwiches, the staff goes above and beyond and is super friendly. read more

Friendly service and fresh bagels. I stopped to get a dozen bagels since 15 bagels for $13.99. A gentleman told me I need to select 15 bagels when I started to pick the bagels a lady came to him the dozen bagels is for 12 and not 15. I didn't know until I left place I think this is dishonest So check the price and things you are getting with your money read more

Cool place, great sandwich, great bagels, friendly staff! First time I've tried Taylor ham...I'm now a fan.

Great bagels and great service!!! Amazing choice of bagels!!! Best bagels around!!!!

I learned about Abe's Bagel House through a co-worker. At the time it was pretty new and she always said the food and service were great. Not only did I try it for myself, we've used them now for several company breakfast and luncheon meetings too. Whether it's bagels, breakfast sandwiches, omelette platters, cheesesteaks, burgers, or other lunch sandwiches and salads, it's always been a hit! His pricing is reasonable too, rivaling area eateries. This great business couldn't have happened to a nicer man. Abe's food and customer service are top tier. His kind heart is even better. That's why it works. Go see for yourself! read more

I've had good service here before very friendly people today however seemed like mass confusion it's 10:45 AM and just totally unorganized like giving me one part of my order and not the other part taking my order and then asking me after you hand me something what else did I order? Great staff, good bagels but their egg sandwiches leave a lot of room for improvement. I ordered a bacon, egg ans cheese sandwich. The bacon was a bunch of crusty, hard bacon bits. The whole sandwich was not pleasent to eat. read more

Clean, friendly, and delicious Fast and efficient service with a smile. Everything was prepared to order...hot and fresh. Stopped by Abe's Bagel House on this rainy Saturday afternoon to order 6 dozen bagels for a work event later this week, and figured I would pick up a little lunch-to-go for the family. I ordered an Italian sub, a chicken cheesesteak, and a beef cheesesteak, which were all good and not overpriced for what we got...BUT the Flying Chicken Panini and Tuscan Chicken Panini stole the show! They were loaded with flavor and the chicken breast was not only juicy but it was big enough to fill the entire roll. The paninis are a definite 5!! I will post a bagel review after we have our bagels later in the week, but the everything bagels I saw on display in the baskets looked toasty on the outside and had plenty of toppings. read more

Big pillowy bagels fresh and hot with no skimping on the schmear. A welcome detour off route 80 for a Bakers dozen. I loaded up my freezer.

Incredible bagels!! Best in the area!! So fresh, clean atmosphere and friendly staff. Our new "go to" that's for sure!
