This was our first time eating at Cafe Crevier. We heard about all the rave about the "Thinny Thin Pizza" so we decided to check out the place. The decor was nice. We decided to get the rice balls for our appetizer. For our entree my husband ordered the Blue Cheese burger and I got the pizza. The rice balls were ok. For the entree my husband's burger came out about five minutes before my pizza. So he waited till I got the pizza which it's a bit of an inconvenience. It seems like they were a bit backed up with takeout pizza orders which delayed me getting my pizza. The pizza itself was good but the bottom was not crispy. One Sunday morning my kids and I were killing time watching reels and a couple comes in eating the thinny thin pizza and the hot honey chicken from here. It looked so good we said let's go have lunch! So we took the 30 minutes drive to try the food for ourselves. The restaurant has some parking in the front and a lot in the back so no issues finding a spot. The restaurant was nicely decorated and busy on a Sunday. Service was slow due to how busy they were. The pizza was nice and crispy although I didn't love it and the hot honey chicken was delicious with the slaw and pickle ranch it is served with. Last night I had placed an order over the phone from Cafe Crevier around 7pm for a thinny thin pie. I figured it was busy since I was on hold for about 5 minutes and it was a Friday night. Anyways the lady over the phone said that it should be about 30 minutes. We walk in 30 minutes later at about 7:30 and give our name for the order, we can see her going through the list and not finding our order. Then I see her write our name and what we ordered on the tablet and then proceed to say "we are very backed up, it should be about another 15 minutes" which i understand mistakes happen if you forget to write in our order on a busy night however, I would have rather her just said that she forgot to put in the order because we were sitting inside for another 35 minutes. Despite that wrench in the timing, I didn't think the "thinny thin" was all that. It was super soggy /floppy until you got to the crust and there was too much cheese and grease. The taste/flavor itself was pretty good however, I can't see how they charge $19 for what looks like a small pie (there's only 1 standard size for the thinny thin) that's as thin as paper. I would say the pizza for me was a 7.2 at best. Maybe the experience might have been better if we were sitting down inside and got a table. I've heard that the thin crust pizza here is amazing, so I stopped in for lunch. Unfortunately, they don't sell it by the slice and I was alone. Not to worry, however, they have a nice lunch menu. I decided to go healthy and ordered the Strawberry Avocado Toast. I have to admit, it was very tasty! Smashed avocado on a 7 grain bread, topped with strawberries and toasted almonds, with a balsamic glaze. The dish was not only filled with healthy ingredients, but it was also delicious! I've waited so long to come here specifically for the pizza and I am a huge thin crust fan so the thinny thin pizza did NOT disappoint! The crab cakes were also solid, not the best I've ever had but the real deal with crab and not breadcrumbs. Mom loved the beet salad. Ooey, gooey and hot out of the oven would've been best. The cheese got hard super fast because of how thin the pie was (like legit, it's a cracker). It was still really good though, and I love how the tomato sauce was super sweet. This was a place where I tried a dish served at a party. I was able to have a tray of the chicken piccata. The pieces of chicken were cut up nicely and were pounded out very thin. It was some of the most tender chicken I had in a long time. There was a ton of flavor besides that. The floured chicken had a great balance of all what a chicken piccata entails. Amazing pizza. The 'Thinny Thin' is absolutely a top notch traditional NJ bar pie. Perhaps the thinnest pizza I have ever had and they still managed to keep it crisp and hold its shape. And it has a very nice ring of caramelized cheese around the rim. I have no idea how they can possibly do it. The sauce had a nice, tangy flavor and the cheese was delicious as well. I have now been to 67 pizza places in NY/NJ and this place is in the very, very top few. It is not very close to me but I cannot wait to go back. Again and again. Just outstanding. First time here but certainly not the last. We went today in the middle of the afternoon as I wanted to be sure we could get in. I had heard that for lunch and dinner you might get lucky to get in. Turns out that at 3pm on a Wednesday you can pretty much have the place to yourself. We were greeted by a super lovely women who showed us to a table in the center of the dining room. The atmosphere is simple and very tasteful. Just the right amount of touches to make you discover little things without becoming overwhelmed and distracted from the food. Our server was attentive but not insistent and we were given water immediately (something we appreciate after a 40 minute drive, even though I have water in the truck which is gone about 10 minutes into the journey). We came here for the Thinny Thin. The menu is extensive and dare I say has something for everyone. Once I saw the short rib crostini, I knew my plan for just pizza had to change. I was not disappointed. I will say this, having grown up Italian, surrounded by amazing food, I expected the crostini to have some crunch. However because of the luxurious jus of the short rib it did not stand a chance of that. The meat was melt in your mouth and the crunch was provided by the fresh lovely peppery arugula. Thrown on top was the perfect amount of burrata that did not smother those other flavors and with a pinch of salt you have added the perfect starter to get your taste buds going. Now step into the ring for the main event. The Thinny Thin. Yes and yes. Thinny and Thin. Wonderful flavor in a thin package. I will say this, the pie that we had did not have the consistency that many of the videos that made us come to the Cafe attributed to it. Our pizza had no crunch in the main section (crust did, I will get there). The slice did not have the rigidity that the videos I saw purported. But let's get back to the reason we feast. Incredible taste. Just the right amount of tomato, cheese and chew. The kicker is the crust. That special treat that so many leave behind when going in for another slice. This crust has that slightly charred cheesy flavor that is so difficult to master. If you are a fan of that piece of cheese that escapes your cheeseburger on the grill but doesn't turn to ash, this is that jam. There were so many things on the menu (deviled eggs with bacon ... COME ON!!) that we can't wait to go back. In a town that has amazing food culture, Cafe Crevier is raising the bar. read more

I keep giving this place opportunities but they always disappoint. Today I ordered lunch takeout for my family and my hubs and I split the spicy chicken sando and prosciutto truffle. The prosciutto was so hard, chewy and fatty it actually made me nauseous. I have never eaten prosciutto like this and I've been to Spain. The rest of the sandwich was ok but it was mostly bread. She claim she couldn't but Toast said she could and the directions are even online if she didn't want to call Toast. I can't say I don't miss Mara's :( but I will absolutely be back to Cafe Crevier! What I liked: spacious interior with such cute decorations (albeit a little random; not quite sure what the theme is here, the lighting is nautical but there are lots of fake plants/flowers); fast and really friendly service (seems like this is a family-owned and run place); pricing is comparable to most other places nowadays, nothing insane; the free table bread was REALLY good, good flavor, warm, and crispy; the pizza was exactly the kind of thickness I like in a thin crust pizza (not paper thin, has a little thickness to it) and the slices had integrity/could stand on their own, but the crust was not cracker-y (not a fan of cracker crust, personally) -- big win there; lastly, I loved that the onion topping for the pizza was CARAMELIZED onion! Hardly see that anywhere. Although, it's worth noting that the menu didn't specify that, so if you're not a fan, don't get the onion. What I didn't like: this is really the only reason for the -1 star -- the pizza sauce just lacked flavor. Either that, or there just wasn't enough on there (or a combination of the two). Just get the thiny thin, trust me. Came for lunch with my family - as my husband was trying to remember their 1-bite score (8.5 - IYKYK). And yes, worth the score. Also had the Mad Chicken which was good, but that thiny thin just kept calling my name. Started with the deviled eggs which were a buffalo flavor, good, but not my thing, I'm a purist.
