In a never ending quest to visit as many bagel shops in northern NJ as possible, today I picked up lunch at Baldwin Bagels. The shop is located in a strip mall on Baldwin Rd off Rt 46 in Parsippany. There are a few tables outside for dining. First off, there's a large selection of bagels to choose from. I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese, on an everything bagel. The sandwich was well made. Bagel was flavorful and had a nice crisp to it. The bacon was well done and plenty of it. There are lots of cream cheese choices here also. I thoroughly enjoyed my chicken Cesar wrap on a spinach wrap and the macaroni salad that you can select as a side was also delicious! I have been here for breakfast pick up and the service is fast and efficient as well. Their chicken quesadillAs are a favorite between my coworkers and I. Their yogurt muffins are just perfect , and their coffee is also excellent. I have ordered a croissant with egg, cheese, lettuce tomato before as well and it was perfect. This is a disgrace to Jersey bagels. They were way to doughy...no crisp on the outside. They were also very greasy. On top of all of that they had absolutely no flavor you could barely appreciate what was inside the bagel. The bacon was under done and fatty and chewy. I will never bring my business there again. And on top of that the actual store was very disorganized there was no telling who already ordered and who was waiting. I am freaking hooked on the Chipotle Chicken Wrap from Baldwin Bagels. One of my coworkers introduced this establishment to me as an option for lunch and now, I can't stop myself from ordering. I'd love to try other things from the menu as I believe they will be just as good. The chipotle chicken is nothing like I've ever had. I really favor how tender and flavorful the chicken is. This place is very close to where we live so we decided to go check it out. I personally love bagels so I was excited. We stopped on the way back home from the store in the afternoon and it was not busy at all (weekday). There is no dining-in option but they have 2 tables outside if you'd like to sit in and eat your food there. We weren't lucky to secure a spot so we just ordered to take out. I got something that I saw a picture of in the menu (I didn't see it listed on the menu, however). It was an everything bagel with scrambled eggs and bacon. My man got a chicken panini which came with a side of potato salad and a pickle. For both of those items we paid a total of $12! Which is a pretty good deal considering we got a good portion of food. I thought the bagel was delicious and the panini had a ton of chicken in it (which is good). The employees were nice, helpful and fast. I will definitely be back here for breakfast! Nice sized bagels, but kind of bland tasting. Prices are VERY high in this place. A bagel with creamed cheese and a medium coffee was $7.50, which is unheard of pricing. I love bagels and have settled on a few favorites. However - My wife found this place through TV advertising and asked we give a Sunday after church visit. This is what we experienced: I found the bagels huge, well cooked (meaning crispy outside, and not doughy inside) and tasty. My wife rated them 5 stars after our two visits, focusing her praise on their French Toast and Sesame bagels calling them stand outs. Big parking lot right off Rt 10. Online order. I am giving a 3 only for the Bagels. I ordered the falafel ​sandwich in a pita with Tahiti sauce. When I say dry as a bone there is no other words. I just moved to Parsippany from Plainfield New Jersey so I'll be doing a lot more reviews in this area I guess. Baldwin Bagels is legit, really great Bagels kind of in the style of Murray's bagel big fluffy and chewy and as you can see the obligatory New Jersey pork roll breakfast sandwich is legit as well. From what I can tell this place gets tons of foot traffic so be prepared to either have no line or to be on on a line waiting with 10 other people for your sandwich or bagel. Coffee is pretty strong as well and enjoyable. So far so good though Parsippany seems like a great place to live and eat mangia mangia! read more

You can do much better in northern NJ. This place suffers from a few things: -staff can be rude -organization is poor. Something simple like creating a line for pick ups/paying and a line for ordering would go a long way. -bagels can be good - when they are cooked well. They are very inconsistent though. More often than not, they are over cooked and slightly burnt. -selection of bagel types is pretty poor compared to the better spots in the area. They have all of your standards, but nothing special. Doing a few special bagels would be nice (egg everything, jalapeño cheddar, etc.) -strangely, they include oats on their everything bagel. Only place I've seen do this. Doesn't add anything positive to it imo. -Prices and portions are a problem. As I mentioned earlier, they are very inconsistent. Sometimes a regular breakfast sandwich has a decent amount of meat on there, sometimes it's lacking. Most often you will get 2-3 slices of meat, 1 egg, and 1 slice of cheese. Which just doesn't cut it for an $7-8 sandwich. Ask for extra cheese to receive 2 (!) whole slices of cheese on your sandwich for another dollar or so. Having a fair standard (i.e 4 slices of Taylor ham, 2 slices of cheese as the default) would be an improvement. It shouldn't be a gamble. -A bagel with specialty cream cheese is $4.25. And sometimes they don't put enough cream cheese on. At that price, it stings. Overall, this place is extremely okay. They could do a lot better with some small improvements. read more

Before we moved to Parsippany, we used to go to Baldwin Bagels regularly and they were always pretty good, a little small, but crunchy outside and chewy inside-lots of flavors and great cream cheese. Sandwiches were also very good. I happened to be in the area the other day and decided to give them a try. So I ran in, ordered a pork roll, egg and cheese on a hard roll, and got some bagels to go. The sandwich was ok, but I couldn't tell if it was real Taylor Ham or crappy pork roll-usually I can tell right away...was good, but just tasted 'different'. The bagels were also decent, a little small, but a nice crunch and chewy inside. GREAT strawberry cream cheese. Coffee was just ok, I don't know why so many places around here have such crappy coffee...it really isn't that hard. I'd go back if in the area, but there was just something missing I think. Got the poppy bagel with cream cheese and Nova lox, toasted. The poppy bagel is covered in poppy seeds, top and bottom. It has a crusty top and soft and tender center. The Nova lox is layered thick and abundant. They're not thin slices! In the sandwich, the lox pretty much takes over the creamcheese. It's salty and smoky; reminds me of being in some remote fishing village in the northwest. Somewhat pricey, though, for Parsippany. Almost charging the same prices as NYC. I came here for a toy convention event and this was writhing walking distance which already put me in a great mood. The place was small but it had the ma&pa style vibe which I seek out a lot because I know more times than not they put a little extra TLC into their food dishes. That being the case, I had an american breakfast burrito and a plain bagel with cream cheese with a 1.5L water bottle. That all came out to $11! So another thumbs up for me! The burrito was a good portion and had a great mixture of potato-egg-bacon and cheese ratio and flavor. The bagel was freshly made out of the oven and had the crispness on the outside and the fluffiness on the inside that made sure I didn't feel ashamed for demolishing the entire meal.
