Ditch Panera! The bagels at this Manhattan Bagel location are out of this world! I am always impressed by how large the bagels are without sacrificing taste or otherwise quality. Even better than the bagels? The staff are so sweet and very much reflect warmth, even when it's almost closing time on a Saturday (I am ashamed to say that is the time I usually stop by). The manager, Vianey, is so kind, and the conversations I have had with her, although short, have been wonderful. Back to the bagels-- have you ever had a FRENCH TOAST BAGEL?? It exists! It's dessert for breakfast, but not in the typical sugar crash when you get to the office type of breakfast. I've attached some pictures I took of the french toast bagel. I believe they knead the dough with streaks of sugar and goodness without over-doing it. Chef's kiss. I also do have to note that they wrap their bagels very well, and it will not stain the inside of your purse (this has happened to me at other places before and I am not a fan of dirtying my purse for breakfast). There are also plenty of tables and food and drink options that are not bagels like muffins, pastries, cookies, a myriad of flavors of juice and lemonade, coffee, and a huge variety of bagel sandwiches which I have yet to try, but I will be taking myself on a solo date here when the weather gets warmer, and I will have to restrain myself from buying the whole menu. read more

Manhattan makes a Mean Breakfast Bagel Sandwich!! Their sign says "Freshly Boiled and Baked Every Day Since 1987" so they must be doing something right over here. And to me that's obviously the case. My Taylor Ham, Egg, Cheese, with Avocado on an Everything Bagel Sandwich was dynamite deliciousness. Loaded with fresh tasty ingredients and that firm yet soft Bagel was the perfect foundation for this handheld masterpiece. Gotta also add that I was totally impressed with how all the toppings had held on throughout the entire session. They offer a Freshly Brewed Coffee Station where customers can make their own cup exactly how they want it. Ordered: Breakfast Burrito (~$7.50): 3 eggs, American cheese, and choice of meat (I chose turkey sausage) + avocado (+$1.50) Aya's take: I was in the area and decided to stop by to grab some breakfast. I also had my laptop with me and lucky enough, they had free wifi and I located a table with an outlet nearby. This location is not big and definitely gets loud at times so if you easily get distracted, don't come here to get work done. The Breakfast Burrito was pretty average if I'm being honest. It was loaded and I'm glad they didn't skimp out on any ingredients, but it didn't stick out to me. The burrito could have been heated up or put on the grill-top for a minute and the eggs lacked seasoning. I asked one of the coworkers for hot sauce and jokingly said she likes it spicy too. She told me a lot of people actually get jalapeño cream cheese in their breakfast sandwich/burrito and gave me a small cup to try it for myself. This small gesture was so appreciated! I try to be open minded about Manhattan Bagel shops since they're conveniently located to me, however, whenever I stop in one, it's always a disappointment. Today, I got an asiago with cream cheese and a coffee to go. The bagel had little taste and was too chewy, the coffee was lukewarm at best (and this was lunchtime). I'll give 2 stars because the service was friendly. Maybe if this wasn't the NJ/NY area, this place would seem better, but with all the high quality bagel shops around (and at least one within a few miles) Manhattan just didn't cut it. read more

I had preordered a breakfast wrap, iced coffee and pumpkin muffin at 5:30am. It was to be picked up 6:15-6:30. Than after they opened at 6, it was changed to 6:45am. I got to the shop at 6:15 and asked. They were able to get it done and I left by 6:20. The egg cheese and Taylor ham wrap was packed full off scrambled eggs and Taylor ham. It was very filling. The pumpkin muffin was good but when when they wrapped it up they smeared the icing which came off when I opened it up. For this I deducted one star. I have no complaints with taste of food or quality of food. If you become a regular, they get to know you by name. And even if the order is expected at one time, they were able to get it done sooner. Been coming to this location for a long time as it convenient to where I live. Today I arrived at 2:35 on Sunday and asked for one of their hot sandwiches to which the response was "we are closing at 3 the grill is shut down". Are you kidding me?? If you CLOSE at 3 then that is WHEN the grill should be shut down. Not before. I don't care if you want to get out early. There should be a sign posted then that says "we are lazy and want to leave early and wish to close the grill down before our actual closing time". Took my 1 year old daughter there to get breakfast and as the high chairs are tucked away in the back, asked the cashier if someone could help me by bringing one out. The woman looks at me annoyed and says "they're in the back" and then responds "yeah in a few minutes". After waiting and waiting i go back and ask again, she responds "yeah, give me a few minutes." nothing... I ended up having to leave my belongings on the table and drag out the high chair out w/one hand while holding my baby in the other. Stopped in again on Monday for a quick lunch with friends. I ended up getting the low calorie egg with turkey bacon and the price was reasonable. Added a drink and the total cost was about $5 + change. It is a bright spot, sunny, lots of windows. When you enter, usually the order taking part is very fast. Then you pay and wait for your order. Been coming here for over 6 years, I absolutely love the staff and the food. The coffee is superb and the egg whites are always cooked to perfection. I have catered with them and they make sure you get everything you ordered.
