My go to is a Toasted Onion bagel with Bacon(crispy) eggs, cheese, katchup, pepper, a dash of salt. Heaven in Hunterdon County. Coffee is always fresh and rich. Service is amazing as only a small American diner can deliver. I love coming to Flemington's Main Street and enjoying the old school shop to bring the experience home. It's got plenty of clean seating, in warmer months sitting on their front porch is a must. I'll always search for a nice bagel but I'll always return to the great American Bagel restaurant for the best quality & flavors anywhere.

This place went t from a five star down to one. The food was garbage when the new owners took over, service was in the toilet and they flipped it around ( the interior) making things less friendly. After a lot of time passing they got a new manager and his wife, who I might add I wish owned this place! Such awesome people. Most of the other staff is ok. Food has come up in quality and it is always clean. I would have given higher stars but from talking with staff and others the owners can care less about the community which is huge in such a tiny community, and it shows. This place gets bare minimums from them and 110% from the staff.

Given my self imposed delay in eating right from the grill, I can't be sure that the bagels went though the boil/bake cycle, although I read in another review that they were produced offsite and flash frozen, rather than made onsite. The bagel had typical rye pumpernickel flavor, and a balanced portion of cheese, egg and meat. If you like a bagel that's dense with a bit of a chewiness you'll enjoy theirs. I then went to the woman at the front to clarify, and she just pointed at some packets and said, 'We have mayo right there. I didn't take your order, so...' Honestly, the whole experience was super embarrassing for the establishment. It's one thing to miss a condiment, but it's another to have the entire staff treat a simple request like it's a personal confrontation.
