Bacon Cheeseburger with Little Fries
Dan M.

This was ordered on their website and was easy to navigate with the whole process. The order was ready at the time stated on the confirmation email. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with BBQ sauce, mayonnaise, ketchup, lettuce, onions, pickles, and tomatoes ($10.19) with little fries ($4.09). All of their burger are 2 patties. The burger as a whole was very good. The beef patties were juicy and flavorful while the bread held all of the toppings that were included. The buns were not soggy. The fries were not too bad, a little soft, not crispy enough. Will I go back? I would.

With so much burger competition around these days, you'd expect to get a great slider for $12. But, in burger world price and quality do not necessarily go hand in hand. Rather than across the board improvement at lower cost, the opposite seems to be true. There are alot of pretenders out there willing to take your money and deliver disappointing product. Five Guys seems to be following this path. When I stopped in their store in Flemington, NJ, recently, everything was clean and spiffy, the workers friendly and chatty, but their burger just not up to snuff, especially at the near $15 with their bag-O-fries and soft drink. Grease is an essential element of a good burger, but this double patty was so slick it overwhelmed the taste of the beef. Too, ordering this with all their standard fixing (lettuce, tomato, onion, ketchup and mayo), made for so much lubrication that holding onto the bun firmly resulted in much of the internals extruding from the sides of the sandwich, and a firm bite launched part of the puck out the back door into the basket beneath. From second bite it was just a slippery mess to eat. Even with their cheap plastic forks, it became a pile of deconstructed ugliness, best consumed with fingers and spoon. It was impossible to enjoy, and I lost count of the napkins yanked to keep the leakage off my face and fingers. Maybe this was on me for ordering their "all the way" fixings on top of their regular double grease burger. If so, I've learned a lesson not to accept their marketing suggestions. I've also learned that Five Guys isn't worth the mess it makes.

Only my second trip a Five Guys....from what I gather you either get it or don't. It's obvious there are waaaay too many friggin hamburger shops on the planet right now. I mean how many ways can you present a Burger and fries??? I hear their shakes are good...although, I have not had one yet. Perhaps next time...if you eat here enough I'm pretty sure you won't fit through the door! I ordered a double cheese with bacon, mushrooms and jalapeño. Honestly small fries would have been enough since regular is overflowing into the bag and already seems to be the average size of a large order as compared to places I've been. The bag soaks up the grease, it's visable. I guess that's why one of the previous reviewers called them a "Greasy Spoon".... so dumb. What were they expecting? It's FAST FOOD !!!!! :-) Back to the burger...It was AWESOME...JUICY, HOT AND THICK.. MMMMMM Anyway, the addition of malt vinegar on the fries and I'm in heaven. I will be back!.... some day.

Double bacon cheeseburger and the best fries ever.

Not sure how to rate a burger place. Do I compare it against fine dining or just other burger places? For what it is, I like this place. Juicy, fresh hamburgers and excellent fries. Shakes are unremarkable and the floors are always greasy and slippery to walk on. I go back here often and will always choose this place over fast food.

It's a pretty tasty burger. The fries are meh. Way better than the big fast food places.

TJ's Deli & Grill

TJ's Deli & Grill

(3 reviews)

I stopped into TJ's Deli & Grill for lunch early in the afternoon while I was in the area…read more It was very quiet when I arrived, with only one other customer inside, so ordering was quick and the food came out without much of a wait. I went with a cheeseburger topped with lettuce, tomato, and sliced red onion, along with a side of curly fries and a bottle of Gold Peak iced tea from the refrigerator. The burger was cooked medium well, as I asked, and had good flavor. The toppings were fresh and balanced things out nicely. The curly fries were very similar to A&W style, crispy with a good seasoning. The inside is your typical deli setup. Nothing fancy, but clean and functional. Overall, a solid, no-frills lunch spot. If you're in the area and want something quick and straightforward, it gets the job done.

Took a drive to TJs today after a tik toker raved over a breakfast sandwich he had here…read more TJ's is a small strip mall convenience store/deli that pumps out tasty unique sandwiches. Several menus to choose from there is bound to be something to pique your taste buds interest. Order at the counter to go or eat in. Several tables set up if you have the time to sit and eat even a small bistro table out front if you want to enjoy the weather. Smiles behind the counter are eager to answer any questions you may have and the promptly prepare your food while you wait. A wide variety of coffees and teas for self service along with sugars creamers and the like. We opted for a wrap special that includes mushroom, spinach, ham and tomato and the infamous belly buster sandwich. Both worth way more than their meager price tags. Flavorful and filling 2 hot drinks. Two sandwiches and a side of bacon out the door at $21.00 not too bad. TJ's is definitely not a full service restaurant nor does it claim to be. A fast food option that's sure to satisfy. Will we trek the hour to revisit, most likely not but if local we would surly add it to our list of go to spots. Be sure to check it out when in Flemington NJ
