Or a buffet that no longer buffets. But pizza is a big part of their menu and a lot of people order it. I can tell you, from sight alone... I wouldn't call it pizza. It's cheese, toppings, and an extremely flat crust that I can only imagine crunches to smithereens. So I went very much with not pizza. Fortunately, the menu goes many other directions. I got a hot chicken sandwich with Cajun fries, basically regular fries with a little seasoning sprinkled on (not baked in). Took a little while to get to us, but once it did, I was impressed with the spice level. This is not for the faint of tongue. The fries were perfectly cooked, but I would say just get plain fries if that's your vibe. I could have upgraded to onion rings or similar, wasn't feeling quite hungry enough for that venture. Verdict: I don't know. It's not a diner. It's not a pizzeria. Definitely seemed kid-friendly. I think my date liked this place more than I did. So again, I'll go with the balance and stick 4 stars on the wall. Could return, not sure what else in Flemington might attract (seems fairly restaurant-barren).

We tried the tuna nachos, the po' boy special, and the chipotle burger. The nachos were amazing...just the right balance of flavors with a hint of sweet spice I hadn't noticed before. The burger was smoky, charred to perfection, and my husband couldn't get enough of his sandwish (he actually admitted he loved the food this time!). Fries weren't quite what I remembered, missing a bit of that crunch and sweet-salty punch. Service was friendly and attentive, checking water and offering boxes at the right moments. The mix of punkish edge and rustic charm makes it a great spot for lunch or dinner with friends or family.

The prices are great for the quality of the food. I always opt for the build-your-own entree. This time, I chose the brisket with a side of the caramelized plantains, but I also often go with the chicken, steak, or salmon with the pesto butter. No matter what you order, you can't go wrong. The staff are very kind and the service is quick. The interior is modern and up-to-date, paralleled by its brick historic vibe exterior, as the Stangl Factory building was once a pottery/ceramic factory. Now, the building is home to Blue Fish Grill, as well as a number of other businesses including an artist-owned gallery, a large pottery studio, a medium, and a yoga and physical therapy studio. Stangl also hosts a weekly artisan farmers' market and bi-monthly live music and art events. It really is a growing creative community. Blue Fish Grill doesn't have a bar, but they do allow BYOB. If you find yourself in the Flemington area, be sure to grab a bite at Blue Fish! It will surely be a meal to remember.
