After spending twenty five years in the southwest and coming back to this area, going to Mexican restaurants is just not worth it. They usually barely resemble the incredible food i became accustomed to. But today we came here for the first time and my world just changed! I ordered the gorditas with fish, and my partner got the mole chicken enchiladas. Both were tremendous and filled with flavor. Clean, and higher quality food than any others we have visited in the northeast. We started with the chip and dip trio- red, green salsa with guacamole as the third. But it was the green tomatillo salsa that was the star of the entire meal for me ( as well as the incredible Mole) and I usually don't like tomatillo salsas at all. This one was above and beyond. Nice and cute atmosphere. The restaurant is decorated and colorful, it's a nice casual place to sit down and eat. The employees are kind. As for the food, the beef chimichanga is delicious. It's tasty and has the perfect crispy texture outside. The rice and beans are delicious as well. On the other hand, I also ordered the huevos rancheros and pork which weren't ideal. I want to highlight their chimichangas - they're super crispy, stuffed with meat and vegetables (it's the best chimichanga I've ever had!) When brought my food, I noticed a black spec under a layer of my rice which turned out to be a bug upon further investigation. I very promptly brought this to the attention of the staff who essentially shifted the blame onto me despite me not making a scene and bringing this to their attention very calmly. This did not sit well with me but I went back to my table to eat my food regardless hoping that would redeem this experience but I was disappointed in this aspect too. The food itself is over priced as the quantity you get is very small and the quality of the food is a step up from your fast food places like Taco Bell (not saying much). While eating, I noticed the workers of the restaurant constantly trying to sneak looks at me from the kitchen which made me very uncomfortable. To rectify me finding a bug in my rice, they gave me a 25% discount off my entire meal which took off $6 from my bill (the price of the chips and salsa which comes free in most restaurants). When paying, the owner/manager continued to shift the blame and come up with excuses when I was just desperate to pay and get out of there. I would recommend you skip this place until changes with their staff approach to customers, food quality/quantity and cleanliness of their kitchen happen. read more

It was my first time here - and on Cinco de Mayo. We will definitely be back! Bianca took exceptional care of us and was super sweet. We started with house-made chips and delicious guacamole.... yum! My husband ordered chicken quesadillas, which many don't consider to be representative of Mexican food but these were delicious with the right mix of tender and perfectly seasoned chicken and cheese. I ordered chicken enchiladas with mole and it was so delicious. The portion size was large with 4 enchiladas and normally I would have taken half of it home but it was so delicious I couldn't stop eating them. The rice was quite flavorful and the black beans were the right consistency and complemented the rest of the plate. For dessert we had flan, with a delicious flavor profile. Our initial waitress pretty much disappeared after taking our orders, I assume to help with takeout orders since it seems they were getting a lot of those. We waited maybe 40min or more before we got our food and people who got there after us got their food first. We were visiting friends in the area and ordered some takeout from Mi Sabor. I was really pleased with what I got. I may occasionally over-order, so I went with the breaded steak torta and the pork gorditas. The torta was delicious. Pickled jalapeños, tomato, Oaxaca cheese, onion, avocado, lettuce, and breaded steak. While the quality of the breaded steak you'd typically get is just ok, their cut was quick one of the better I've had. Not too thick and not too tough so you could bite through without pulling the whole steak out of the sandwich. The gorditas were large and tasty. Chunks of pork, salsa, cheese, in a great shell. There may have also been beans! Prices were reasonable and I think I could have gotten away with one "meal", but I'm glad I tried both. read more

The food is very good. I had a taco special with chorizo and pork. My wife had sopas . Both were as indicated ,excellent . The atmosphere is nothing to write home about . It's crowded, noisy and a bit cramped.No one gave us menus and a menu my wife got from the front had food particles on it. The place also was a little messy. Service was little strange but quick. A party seated after us was served before we were. To his credit, our waiter admitted that our order was lost. They have interesting specials that you can order , if you can remember them. Mad props to the staff - from taking our Mother's Day booking via Google to calling us ahead of time to confirm and having our table ready at the exact time. There's a private parking lot for diners. The wait staff was fantastic, accommodating our toddler and making us feel welcome from start to finish. The food was superb: delectable, diverse, filling, and not oily or greasy. Don't be fooled by the décor inside, it's not fancy. It was late for lunch so we didn't have much of a problem getting a table but the place is small. I'd guess 10 tables at best. There is no liquor but I did see people at another table with a bottle of wine. The waitress brought over a plate of home made chips & spicy green salsa. Both were very good but I thought for 3 people they could have given us a larger dish. It was no problem at all when we asked for more. I opted for the chicken enchilada with a red sauce (yes, I had a choice), black beans & rice. Although service was a bit slow it was so worth it! Food came out piping hot, fresh & delicious! One friend ordered a shrimp chimichanga & the other, gorditas, which I had never heard of. They both raved about their food as well. Prices are very reasonable & you get a decent portion of food. Today I dined for dinner with my sister after having visited a year ago. It was a slow night typical for a Monday. My sister ordered ground beef nachos and I ordered pupusas but I asked if they can make it with chicken and cheese because I can't have pork and I'm not big on beans and cheese. So my server asked the cooks if they could do that for me and they were kind enough to do so and it was great! Then she ordered an enchilada and I ordered three shrimp tacos. Laid back atmosphere. Very good food and service. Our first visit but it won't be our last.

The salsa verde was great! We ordered beef enchiladas and al pastor sopes. We received chicken versions of both. After kindly pointing out the mistake the server apologized and indicated she hadn't recorded any meat request on her notepad because she was in a rush. No big deal. For al pastor they said they were out of it and didn't offer anything else. For the enchilada the Chef said he could make replacement dish in 5 minutes. I thought "huh that's fast! Ok" New meal arrived in 5 minutes as promised. Although the presentation was good, unfortunately the enchilada tortillas were soggy and beef was rubbery and bland. Between the 5 minute turnaround, rubbery meat, and soggy tortillas, my wager is that the enchiladas are prepared from frozen - and at least in this instance prepared in a microwave. Rather than complain for a second time I ate the beans and rice off the plate, left the enchilada disaster, paid/tipped and departed. We won't be back :( read more
