The place seemed to take precautions regarding COVID-19 by blocking off a huge amount of space between you and the server making your order, while still allowing you to see what kinds of toppings you can add in. My favorite part about Pancheros is the fact that they take the fresh dough and press it down. The burrito literally smells so amazing because of it, so I would definitely recommend getting burrito over a bowl if you come here. Unlike other places, Pancheros will also mix everything before wrapping the burrito, which makes every bite even better. Overall, I think Pancheros can be quite salty in my multiple experiences coming here, but I still really enjoy the food and service. read more

We like all the burrito chains, but Panchero's is our fave in Flemington for several reasons: fresh tortillas, mixed burrito fillings, excellent black beans, and the tofu option is better than either Moe's or Chipotle. Generally my kids prefer pinto beans, but there's something about Panchero's black beans that other places don't have... dunno what, but this is the one place where we always choose black. The tofu is firm, quite spicy, but in a rich way. The staff in our local store here is good - satisfied with their speed, care, and results. We order in-person weekly and never had a problem with the order or attitude. I like the loyalty club and have gotten a number of free burritos by being a regular customer. Guess the one suggestion I have would be to upgrade the online ordering app to be more flexible. For instance, you can't order beans on a taco or "extra pico" through the app. But in-person, they're happy to customize. read more

If there was a no star option, this place would have earned it! I've never had such a bad experience at a food establishment! The music speaker is above the area where you place the initial order, and it was so loud that we couldn't hear what the worker was saying. We asked several times for her to repeat it louder, only to have her make another grunting sound with a flick of her hand to choose. After making a choice (or saying "yes please" with a nod of the head), she grunted again and stared at us like a deer in headlights. This went on several times, each expression from her was a different form of confusion. When someone is asked if they want the option, even with a grunt and flick of the scooper, and the patron says "yes please", that should be understood. Rather, she finally turned to a coworker and made a mocking impression of us, to which the two laughed. I walked out without placing my order. If my husband hadn't been there, they would have been left with a partially started order and nobody to give it to. I'm sorry he stuck around to finish ordering, but I'm more disgusted that we supported this establishment even once. Rudeness and mocking of patrons is NEVER a good business practice! And hiring staff that don't understand a nod and a "yes please" is unacceptable! If you can't speak the name of the items (not one of the 3 girls could), in any language, and only make grunting sounds, this may not be the proper job for you! We will NEVER return and will NEVER recommend this place to anyone! A side note: the gentleman, who walked it the same time as us, watched the rudeness and mocking, to which he left without placing his order. Good for him! We should have done the same! This restaurant doesn't receive enough credit...AMAZING staff and they always greet me and ask me how life is when I come in for my 9:30 burrito right before they close. They work very hard to keep everything fresh and the customers happy and I've never had a poor experience from the years that I've been eating here. I've got to agree with the above reviewer (John S.). The food is way over priced for the amount that you actually receive. You are paying ~$7 for a "bowl" and to see them carefully shave-off any extra amount of food off their already super-small scoops is difficult to understand. On my most recent (and last) visit, when I got home (takeout) with my bowl, it literally filled up 1/3 of the plastic container they put it in. It was so puny - maybe 5 or 6 bites. I took a picture of the uneaten food and sent them a letter with a picture telling them how ridiculous it was. of course I never heard back. For 30% of the price, I would rather eat at Taco Bell - which is only a few hundred yards away. This restaurant really does epitomize the expression "penny saved - pound foolish". But the people behind the counter need to speak up, or listen when you say you don't want something. The last time we were there (only there twice, probably not again) the person making my burrito picked up the scoop of sour cream, I said no, and he tossed it right on. then started mixing my stuff. I told him I said "no" to the sour cream, and I can't have it. So he just scrapes some off.. leaving tons of it already mixed in. So I said "can you just make me another one? I cannot have sour cream" so he just looks at me and continues on. Both times we went in, around lunchtime, the place was dead. That should have been a huge red flag. read more

Brad P. wasn't kidding when he said that they're stingy. My husband got the "special" shrimp salad with 5 - count them - 5 VERY small shrimp on it. I actually watched the woman pick 2 off his salad before rushing him on to the salsas. With alarm bells ringing in my head, I ordered a chicken burrito for myself. At least the guy who made my burrito gave me a reasonable amount of chicken. Sadly though, the chicken turned out to be nearly flavorless. On the plus side, my husband reports that his 3 bites of shrimp were tasty. Beyond the skimpiness of the shrimp and blandness of my chicken the salsas were insipid imitations of every other fresh-Mex chain. So after a few bites, we decided that it just wasn't worth finishing. To be fair, it was not inedible; it just wasn't worth the calories. In the end, we chunked it and headed on to a much better place not far away. Setting aside the "tortilla made before your very eyes" gimmick, it's plainly obvious that Panchero's cynical business model is to shamelessly copy Chipotle's. Holy CARP they serve huge portions. The fresh-made soft tortillas are probably bigger than my car's spare tire, and they certainly fill you up. I think we've eaten there twice and both times left me feeling nearly ill from eating all that food. I wasn't impressed at all with the flavor of the food, though. I was promised they'd call me tomorrow cuz they were "too busy" -- still no call, cuz there was literally no way the guy had access to my number, so you know it was just lip service on his end. The manager has a very poor attitude and I won't be ordering from here again solely for that reason. I really like pancheros. It is a good go to spot because there really is no chipotle or qdoba around here anyway! The servers don't speak much English but they take your order just fine and it makes the food seem more authentic. Some people are complaining that the food doesn't have enough flavor, but I disagree. I think the way that they season the food is just fine and it is especially good for me that they don't seem to pour fat oils all over the chicken. This helps me because I always have my fitness goals in mind! I give 4 stars because the lack of English and sometimes the salsa can be fresher but that's all. I ordered dinner recently and my delivery order was incomplete. When I called the Flemington location the manager repeatedly hung up on me. I called back several times and he had the lack of customer service skill to leave me hanging on the phone to listen to his staff. How can your staff deliver exceptional or acceptable customer service when the manager cannot. The man is a fool and so is whomever allows him to manage. read more
