The food is really good, and laser tag, probably the best part of this place. We got the unlimited games wrist bands and while we were bowling all we had was nothing but problems, and all the workers were just in a corner talking to each other and even when i went up to ask for help they ignored me so i had to ask the people at the front desk. The arcade is okay but sometimes it would say our card was locked or we had to swipe it a couple times just for the scanner to read it. The arcade redemption room was literally so empty and none of the prizes had the prices either so everyone had to go to the desk to ask. there was barely anything to choose from. We were so disappointed because we had gotten so many points and for what?? Just to get a lot of candy and little things??? Plus the bathrooms were a mess... Lots of other fun treats... bowling, golf, laser tag, rock climbing and an arcade. Wow I cannot believe how this place has gone downhill. I use to bring my kids here when they were younger and the service and food were great. Now not so much. We came here Friday night with my grandson and it was just an awful experience. The bumpers on lane 17 stopped working mid game. We flagged an attendant over and he didn't seem to care, he looked at it and said he will be back. Never came back at that time we just wanted to be done and leave. The food: Eat before you go. Really how can you screw up chicken nuggets and pizza. They were both cold and disgusting.. Came here for a work function. There are many games to play along with bowling, rock climbing, lazer tag, and so much more. They offer a full bar and also serve meals. Staff is generally friendly and very helpful. Drinks are a bit pricey but that is the norm here in Austin. This location is nicely spread out and very colorful. I came here last weekend for a 6 year olds birthday party. There were about 8 or so other little kids and their parents that showed up. We all went into this room that reminded me of a horrible conference room from an office building from the 90s or 80s. The room could have used a coat of paint or some cool murals on the wall - something. It was painted a plain boring beige/tan color. The only thing adding to the drab look was the balloons and our smiling faces. I am sure the kids may not have noticed, but I did. Anyway we were served pizza, drinks and cookie cake in the room. I think we had it for about an hour. Then we all headed out to play games. The games were similar to what they have at Dave and Buster's or even Gatti Town. The games here seemed a bit older and less taken care of compared to the other two places. My favorite game to play is the one where you drop the coin and then it pushes the other coins off the ledge. They have the same game at Dave and Busters and Gatti Town. The game here was not consistent with the number of coins it would give you when you swiped your card. Sometimes it would give me 3 and sometimes it would give me 4, 5 or 6. It was a bit frustrating and I feel like I got ripped off a bit. A big plus for this location is that they have the Star Wars Battle Pod game and it was a big hit with our group. Main event is cooler than Dave and busters for sure.. but it has some rather serious issues. Namely no fighting games.. I couldn't find a Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter arcade anywhere despite the host of arcade Machines. I mean not even Tekken .. its like they have some sort of no arcade fighting machines. I also decided to try the Lazer Tag.. it cost me just under 20 bucks for two people. When I got inside for directions they explained the obstacle course and the dropped the big bomb.. no running. That's right lazer tag in a huge obstacle course and you cant run to avoid being shot you just have to stand there. They gave us infinite lives and I guess it lasted about 15 minutes but it was not worth nearly 20 bucks for two people. The best part is that they do have the Star Wars Battle Pod .. the bad part to that is that you pay 2 bucks win or lose.. so you pay 2 dollars beat a level then pay 2 more dollars if you want play another level... basically its an unfair money drain. I like what they are trying to do here and there is always room for improvement I'm sure this palace is great for birthday parties fro 4-8 year olds but there is nothing here for an adult. read more

Went to Main Event today for a work function. We had 6 lanes for bowling and a "burger bar". Our group of 34 arrived and we were bowling within minutes. The booths, tables, bowling balls, scoring computers, and lanes were all in great shape and nobody had any problems or complaints. The food was better than expected. Along with the burgers we had chicken wings, sausage, hot dogs, chips/salsa/queso, potato chips (the homemade kind), and all the burger toppings. They kept everything full including the water and iced tea. Everyone had a great time. The staff was very friendly. Everything was set up and ready to go right when we arrived. MONDAY NIGHT MADNESS! A group of friends and I made the drive up to Main Event for Monday Night Madness. For $10 you get rock climbing, laser tag and bowling all night. Seriously, $10 (plus a couple bucks for bowling shoe rental if you decide to bowl). I've never done any climbing, but it was awesome! They have every level of climbing wall from kiddo to expert. Apparently I have the upper body strength of a small child, so I stuck to the easy walls. Just remember to wear something you can climb in. On to laser tag. We named ourselves team Lost Boys and we DOMINATED. Our battle cry was Bangarang. It kind of ruled. They hook you up with vests and laser guns and you sneak around this dark room shooting the other team and their base. So got get your big kid on and make the drive to Main Event. read more

I do enjoy going to Main Event and the building itself offers a trendy environment. However, every time we have visited I see the same recurring issues that are blatant to the naked eye you would think the staff would rectify it immediately. The bathrooms are horrendous. It was like this in Spring of 2018 and they have not changed today in Spring of 2019. I walk into the bathroom with hesitation as I follow the toilet paper and seat cover debris (yes outside of the bathroom) that leads to the entry door. Push the door open and uncover trash cans pouring over with paper towels (some had blood on it, nice dash of color to juxtapose the white overflow), trash all over the floor, toilet paper supply depleted in most stalls, and only ONE soap dispenser for all 4-5 sinks. The disgusting state of this bathroom displays a maintenance plan that consists of 0-1 times staff is there to clean. Outside of the restroom, I see debris on the floor. More specifically, a pile of trash on the floor that looked like someone had broomed it and left it in the middle of the floor without picking it up. Needless to say, we spend hours and money at Main Event. I just expect better out of the facility when it comes to cleanliness. I don't want to ever feel like I have to watch where I step in the dining areas or hope that at least 1 stall is decent enough for me to use the restroom without having to hold it. I have been to Main Event too many times to count, so needless to say it's about time I write a review on my experiences with the establishment. Allow me to start by saying... In youth terms: 'Main Event is too legit to quit!' In adult terms: 'Main Event is pricey and overloaded with kids!' Now that we have that brief understanding we can move forward... We came in last Saturday night for a little adult fun for a friend's birthday and found ourselves taking advantage of the wristband deal--it was compliments of friends so I couldn't tell you what it cost, but it was worth it. We started off with pool, luckily there wasn't a wait. I think I need a few lessons, because I couldn't make a damn ball in if my life depended on it. Sad-sad, I know. For being 11 pm on a Saturday I was actually surprised it wasn't overly crowded, but I'm not complaining... We drifted to the bowling alley after our pager went off noting it was our turn--the alley has a ton of lanes, but always crowded when we come. We had waited about 30+ minutes for our lane, so not too bad of a wait. The guy that set us up on the lane--well you could tell he took it serious--like as if he was FBI agent ha, you best believe he made you feel like shit just got real when you were setting up on the lane. The prices per hour are outrageous--you'd think you were knocking down golden pins--exaggerating a bit I know, but damn it hurts your wallet. Weekend rates are $29.00/hr, with up to 6 per lane. If you are coming solely to bowl I'd go elsewhere if I were you. I made a solid come back went from hanging in the gutter to placing 2nd, and that wasn't out of two people...thank you. After we got bored with playing we snagged a few drinks from the bar--beware drinkers--they measure the shots--BOO, I know--I like to taste something aside from the mixer on occasion...especially for the price. All in all it doesn't pack much for the money--I'd grab water and go for the games or a bucket of beers for all you beer drinkers... After hanging in the arcade for a bit we found ourselves lining up for a little Laser Tag. It was fairly crowded, but the more people to shot ha. The guns are a true pain-in-the-arse and you run out of ammo quick, this soldier was running back to base every five freaking seconds. I will say the arcade ripped us off quite a bit, its going a bit downhill several of the game screens were shaking, a few out of order--but with the prices ranging from $0.50 to $3.00 per play I think I'll stick to Pinballz arcade. They did recently add a HUGE Connect4 game, which is pretty cool, except it too is highly overpriced $2.00 per person. Hell I think I'll just buy the $5.00 board game before I pay that price. You can acquire 'points,' towards a few arcade prizes, but most of the good stuff is about 1,000,000,32434,234235,234,234,234 points too many, you'll be playing for years and that giant teddy bear worth 1,000 points will be a classic by then. All-in-all we always seem to have fun, will continue to come back as we have been--but only on special nights--like Monday it's $9.95 Madness; play any of their attractions, enjoy the video games (with the shaking screens) or snag a $20.00 FUNcard good for food and fun. One of my favorite bowling places in Austin. We walked in without reserving a lane, which then we were told that there was a 2-hour wait list. We decided to wait anyways. What's nice is that you can head over to their website and subscribe for their newsletters to receive a 30 minutes free arcade card. Good way to pass time. And we got our bowling lane after about less than 30 minutes waiting, so that was strange but I'm not complaining. I've tried laser tag and rock climbing before as well. Nothing really special. If your looking for your main disappointment then look no further than the main event. We were looking forward to a relaxing game filled afternoon and with some grub and were greatly disappointed. There were several issues during the visit. 1. The AC must have been off as it was sweltering hot in the game room. 2. Upon entry their was no greeting, it was if your not with a bday party go over there. 3. Food and Service- if you like to watch staff more concerned with a basketball game then doing their job look no further. The fries were cold, poor refill service, server had a major attitude. The loaded fries had no queso on them as described and bacon was minimal. 4. Bathrooms were a wreck. I came here for mini golf, glow in the dark mini golf that is. It was fun, no long waits, I did come here around 10:30-11pm. This place has a bar, pool hall, bowling, rock climb, games, food, laser tag, and mini golf. It looked relatively clean, which I appreciate. I think it's a great place with a group of friends. I wasn't sure the price of the activities, but the golf was $20 for 3 people. The golf was fun in the dark, and pretty easy going. read more

Probably one of the cheaper bowling deals we've seen in a while considering a lot of other places charge $30/hr for a lane. With the $5 bowling deal, you get to bowl as long as you want! I really like this place. It's a nice alternative to Dave 'n Busters. This is one of my "neighborhood" hangouts that I kinda grew up with. I had some parties back here in high school and I've gone on a date here. It's great cuz it's a nice encapsulated night out. They've got a not bad bar, a whole bunch of pool tables and shuffleboard tables, several bowling lanes, a laser tag arena, one of those rollercoaster simulator thingies, a rock wall, of course a big-ass arcade and a ton of TV's lining it all, which play sports or whatever music videos are big. It's a little on the expensive side, but they have weekly deals and such. It's great for dates or groups. Plus it's in this strip mall area with plenty of restaurants within a short walk or drive. read more

A lot is lacking. It is expensive. The place is very short staffed. Upkeep of equipment is poor. Restrooms need attention. Cost is very expensive. There were 10 people in our group. Our group bought $18. 95/person "all you can play" pass to be able to bowl, laser tag, rock climbing and golf and also bought additional to play video/arcades. The cheapest video/arcade game that I saw was $1.50. It was $4.95/adult additional to rent bowling shoes. We also bought food and drinks. I did not see food/beverage price list so can't comment on prices. Bottom line, we spent a lot of money. Long wait to get in, not enough floor, waitstaff, bar staff. Initially, there was no shoe rental staff so entrance staff taking care of both entrance, shoe rental area and escorting you to bowling lane and giving you bowling lane instructions. No one available to take care of bowling shoe rental so shoes piled up high on counter. The wait for each event was an hour or longer and then your time is limited for each event. The hour wait was at noon when we arrived. The wait times were longer as it became later. At end of your allotted time, if you want to continue to play, you can't. You have to quit and sign back up to play later. To play another set of bowling was a two hour wait. Between each set you have to turn shoes in, sign back up to play, and when your turn check shoes back out. It was difficult to get assistance with floor equipment problems or just ask questions. Many things broken, no staff available or the staff did not know how to fix equipment. Bowling lane pins kept messing up. They would not reset properly. One time the pins wouldn't reset at all. It took at least 10 minutes to get someone to fix the pins. 10 minutes lost on our allotted play time. Too bad for us. The staff not able to help us with shuffleboard score keeper. They did not know how to reset or fix shuffle board score keeper. They did not try to fix(if broken) or try to find out how to reset. We asked two staff members for assistance. The women's bathroom was nasty. Garbage full and paper towels flowing over onto floor. No toilet paper in stalls and stalls dirty. Difficult to find staff to assist and when we did one staff member had an attitude. We broke a glass. When we finally found a staff member to tell about the break, he just ROLLED his eyes at us and walked away. For the price you would expect a lot more. read more

We played the games with the kids too and had a blast! My Cousin and his kids and I went here for some Laser tag fun, arcade fun and snacks at the Labella Pizza. This place is very easy to find right off the freeway. With Plenty of parking! In my head I imagined there to be tons of screaming kids running around and chaos and disorder and there wasn't. WOW... This place is nice. Lots of seating, Neon lights a Large bowling alley and pool tables area with TV's all over the walls. A bar area and Arcade area and Pizza parlor names La Bella Pizza. We tried the chicken tender, fries, fruit, pizza and soda. Food was pretty good! The Kids and my cousin loved the Laser tag it was multi-level and the session was 30 minutes long and only cost $8.66 a person. We also placed some table hockey ( I think that's what it is called ) I haven't played that game in year and found my self screaming and jumping and laughing. Over all we had a lot of fun and look forward to going back it was Clean, Fun and reasonable prices. If you have kids or family visiting from out of town or have some friends who like to play games , bowl, rock climb, miniature golf or laser tag you need to check this place out! Came in to finish out my Halloween night with my friend. Spend $38 on a fun card and was SUPER excited to play some beat saber. I never go out and really wanted to treat myself, beat saber is my favorite game and I came in specifically to play it. Beat saber was broken and I did not see that till after spending money. There was nothing marking that the game was broken besides the card swiper, I never would have spent money if there would have been a clear indication that the game was broken but I would soon find out why there wasn't. Went to go play the terminator game, it was broken, went to play the shooting game next to it, one guns not working and sound broken. Long story short I was able to successfully play 1 game. A game I didn't want to play but was getting desperate because so many of the games were broken. The staff was awesome and I could definitely tell they were embarrassed but I was told there is nothing they can do to refund the money I didn't spend. Even if I am unable to spend the money at the establishment due to so many of their games being broken, they are unable to refund me. Again the staff was super sweet and I know it's not their fault but I feel like I got robbed. I feel like Main Event literally stole my money last night, I would be happy to spend the money on my card if I could but they are not providing the product. It's insane to me that it's legal to take people's money with a promise to provide something then just not provide it and refuse a refund. To reiterate I was able to successfully play 1 game, and it was not a game I wanted to play. I can see why the rating for this place is so low. read more

We have been waiting for a table 2 hours and they say they are all reserve .. i know its new years eve but arent they losing money having all this tables empty. We have been asking and asking and all they tell us is that they are reserve and the kitchen is 25 tickets behind so if we want food its going to take 2 hours.... one question???? The worst customer service ever by the manager Jesse. His behavior and the lack of respect to me as a customer was nasty, disgusting and very pathetic. I got overcharged when I used the machine to by my kids three separate cards. When he came to address the issue and fix it at least that's what I thought this repulsive excuse for a human being was going to do. Instead he said it wasn't his fault and the credit card mechanic wasn't his therefore it was my fault for getting overcharged? Which is amazingly stupid on his part. I asked to speak to the GM but he said that no one cares and I could speak to anyone because he doesn't answer to anyone. I've been to Main Event a few times, and it has its ups and downs. It gets 2 stars because I can see a lot of potential, but the whole customer experience really suffers when they get overly busy. Game Prices - In a word: Absurd for how poorly the games are maintained. I was there on a date and a number of games that had two players had one of the player stations not working. There was no sign of anyone maintaining these games, and there seemed to not be any uniformed staff around for me to notify. I'd expect the games to be more consistently functional, or at least have a visible service staff keeping the games running even during busy times. Bowling had a 3 hour wait on a Saturday. I am fully aware that it is Austin in the middle of the day on a weekend, but 3 hour wait? That's just nuts. Laser Tag - I haven't done this in a while, but the last time I did it was a lot of fun. They had a great indoor arena and plenty of places to go and hide behind. I want to like Main Event, simply because it's conveniently located close to where I live, but I'd honestly rather make the extra drive down to Dave & Busters for a far more consistent experience. read more
