Staff is friendly however the bowling lanes in the private room by the door are iffy. Twice now we've gotten the 2 lanes and there is no reset button. Once it got locked, we requested service which took plenty of time off our play time (NOT FAIR when you're paying by the hour!!). The other time, a ball was just rolled down which reset but unsure how it affected the score. Bumpers popped up unexpectedly for one player. Had to request they be taken down. The food is meh..... sliders, fried pickles (which are speared), egg rolls, wings, mozzarella sticks. Prizes aren't anything to play over. Variety of games to play though (similar to many other game venues). Do recommend laser tag! The set up is good. Two stories, high and low walls to hide behind. I used to love coming here to bowl but the staff does nothing about disruptive bowlers. The last 3 times I have come here, there has been neighboring lanes with kids running around my lane and screaming the entire time. Every time I talk to the staff, they have an attitude and act like there is nothing they can do. Today, the customer rep (red and black spilt hair), shut me down the second I asked if anything could be done. Everyone was nice. The young lady that helped us was very knowledgeable about the deals that were happening. You could bowl for $10 after a certain time. They have a summer special going on right now. You can bowl for an hour and enjoy unlimited arcade games for $20. It was the perfect impromptu date night. We enjoyed the sliders and fries. My wife and I had a date night this past week and decided to bowl and play some pool. This was our first time at Spare Time Texas--it's always been a place we pass by when we grocery shop at the Wal-Mart nearby. We decided to give it a try. We came on a Tuesday and were lucky enough to take advantage of their Tuesday 1/2 off deals. We paid a super low amount to play pool and bowl. Walking inside it gave us Dave and Buster's vibes--they have a great arcade area, a dining area, laser tag, a couple spots for pool tables and two areas for bowling. It was an open space, a lot of room for a lot of people. They have an online reservation option for bowling that I would highly recommend people utilize, otherwise you may be waiting a while. If you're open to taking advantage of the place's other activities then you'll be fine, but if it's bowling you just want to do, make that online reservation! There are only two pool tables available, so if it's pool you're looking for, you may not get a table if you go on a busy day. We played pool for about 45 minutes before we were called for our bowling lane. We were out in a special room where the lanes have light displays and the music is loud--it was great!!! It was just my wife and I, but we'll definitely bring a group of friends the next time. They had couch-like seating at each lane and servers were coming and going with drinks and food. We didn't order any food this time around, but it looked like your typical "bar foods"--wings, fries, etc. and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Maybe next time. We've been to several trivia nights (Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars) and they were each fun and challenging. The host is great. My family and I went to Spare Time early on a Saturday morning and we had an amazing time! All the employees were super friendly and helpful. The manager, Zach, was kind enough to show us around and kept checking in on us. We spent the morning playing laser tag (sooo much fun) and checking out the awesome arcade they have. A convenient date night spot for bowling - on Tuesday's they have 50% off the hour for a lane, along with shoe rentals. The place seems to get crowded quickly after 5pm even on a weekday, there was only 1 lane left available for us to bowl on when we arrived. We played two games within the hour. They have waiters who come by each lane to deliver food and drinks but it's very infrequent, I had to flag a waiter down twice, request service through the machine, and/or go to the bar itself to get what I needed. The service was not very thoughtful. What came as a surprise was the food, we only ordered fries because we weren't expecting anything else on the menu to be good (and fries are hard to mess up) but it turned up crispy and unexpectedly delicious. I had a terrible experience with mgr Chelsea, my food order included cheese, I ordered with no cheese. Instead of them saying, oh we're sorry, I'll talk to our kitchen team (40 feet away from our office,) & have them remake it. No, Chelsea interrogated me about a wet receipt I tossed. I told her I can show you my bank info that says Sparetime, and the photo of the cheese. Altogether I paid approx $23 including tip. What a disastrous experience! I was meant to be a fun evening of dinner and bowling for my daughter's birthday turned out to be a circus. And I don't mean that in a good way. From the banner in front of the restaurant, Shakers, that advertises food that isn't even on the menu to a waitress, who couldn't remember everything that we ordered and everything in between. The wait for the food (40 minutes) appetizers coming out with the meals, half of the meals were missing and one had to be returned because the burger had a foul taste to it. Also, with the burger, I ordered sautéed mushrooms for $1 more and literally got 4 mushrooms! I can understand some of this if it was a busy night but there were a total of 3 families in the restaurant so it wasn't busy. No actual tickets though... they just build on your card as you play. There is food although we did not eat and there is a full bar. The full bar has only 3 wines by the glass or for other selections you have to buy a bottle. However they have an extensive cocktail selection... I think the bartender could use a bit more practice though... my old fashion was had tooooo much of the bitters in it. The location was clean... even the bathrooms. Went bowling with the family last night. Well actually I did not bowl I just watched. I have been in literally 100s of bowling alleys over the years and having been a avid bowler for 30+ years before a major life event. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of this place. They did a great job of Socially Distancing our group from others. We saw sanitation being done between customers and ever effort to do the right thing. Our family had fun and although it is more pricey than it was 10 years ago when I was a league bowler which I guess is not a surprise it was a good value for our group.
