They have the newest technology when it comes to their bowling stuff. The overhead screens and the score screens for inputting your information are so nice. The lanes are seemingly always waxed quite well and the lanes are nicely lit. The staff at the front desk are friendly. There are also other things here to do such as rock climbing, lunar golfing, pool tables, and even a small arcade. They have a small bar and a menu for food. Their food is not all that and their prices for drinks are not too great. The price for bowling is pretty average since bowling is pretty much known to be on the expensive side. I believe it was about $25/hr and then like $4 something for shoes per person. The place in a whole as far as bowling alleys go .. is very clean and feels nice and new inside. If you want food or a drink just go and get it yourself because the waiters and waitresses come by every 30 minutes or so. Be prepared to come in and bowl one hour at a time or put multiple names in so you have another lane ready by the time you get off your first one because they only let you have one hour at a time per lane. ID GIVE IT 0 IF I COULD!!!! I am very disappointed in the customer service of main event. I waited nearly two hours for someone to answer the phone. My cousin went 07/16/22 and tried to use a gift card he got for my birthday and they said it didn't go through. He tried to check my balance on the gift card after he realized that the card was declining every where else he tried to use it. Main event not only lied to him about it not taking the transaction, but also made him pay the $28 with a different card!! They took $56 from us!! Main Event in Austin had a pretty good deal -For $20 per person, we got access to bowling (limited to 1 hour - 1 lane provided per group), billiards/pool, laser tag and rock climbing. The bowling lanes were very dark - better lighting is needed here. Although the pins light up, the rest of the lane is dim. I like the way each lane has a device you can put in your order for food and drinks, but it didn't prompt for a payment (cards can be inserted into it) When we got our order, the waitstaff didn't ask for payment. What then followed was going to multiple staff members to try getting someone to accept payment - it was like pulling teeth. Here's my money - take it! The strawberry banana smoothie was refreshing. Also tried a dessert cookie that was served in the baking pan and a la mode with a generous dollop of ice cream. Laser tag arena is decently sized and spread over two levels. Didn't get to try out the rock climbing as there was a 1.5 hr wait time. They have both a smaller wall for beginners and a much larger one for the more seasoned. The arcade had a good number of games that can be accessed through a card in which you can enter credit. read more

A great place for tons of fun. I can spend multiple hours here. If you go in on non-peak times you get incredible deals for all the activities. They have a fun rock climbing facility with multiple ropes and paths. They have something for beginners, intermediate and for the advanced. If your not in the mood for rock climbing they have an arcade, bowling, glow golf and a few other activities. I've always had fun, when i've visited main event. My truck along with another truck was broken into in the Main Event parking lot. Security Guard did nothing other than greet me and let me know it happened 2 hours earlier. Complained that he wasn't resourced to patrol the parking lot. No attempt made to contact me while in the facility. seemed to know a lot of what happened to do nothing about it. Safety and Security is a major concern if you are going to this location. Competing locations have ample security so that you and your vehicle can be safe while you are entertaining your family and friends. read more

This place is great. It's actually a pretty good bang for your buck especially if you have kids. I think I paid 40 something bucks for 3 kids to get the all inclusive wristbands. It included bowling, rock wall, laser tag, and put put golf. My kids were entertained for hours while I sat at the bar and relaxed. Food was not bad but the energy in the place is high so be ready. This was possibly one of the worst bowling experiences I've ever had. First off the employees misspelled my name when I made a reservation. It made the check in process tedious. The manager helping the person at the desk was not helpful to the obviously overwhelmed front desk staff. The bowling lanes are not social distanced at all. Mask wearing is certainly not enforced. Had to wait in the bar line since no one came to the lanes to take our order. The line for the one bartender took about 20 minutes despite other staff being present in that area. Do they really want to get caught sending designated drivers all the way to the other end of the space? "Main Event" is a terrible name for the place, too. It's a bowling alley. Like most, it also has an arcade and laser tag, but their "main" focus is bowling, not sports as the name implies. I didn't eat the food, but it looked good and others seemed to enjoy it. However, all the good tables were reserved. When I asked if they had a another party on the same night, he told me, "No, we just don't want to clean them over and over again." While some of that is understandable, our group alone was bigger than the rest of the seating. People were eating on their laps. Our group was big, but we were nearly the only ones in the whole place. I don't know how they make rent. read more

I went there yesterday for my nephew's birthday and unfortunately we did not enjoy it as much as we'd have liked. They come from out of town, and we recommended this place as a must go while they were visiting, but they were a little disappointed. First, we ordered drinks for the adults and we specifically told the server to add salt on the margaritas after they asked us, and we instead got salt on top of the margaritas which took forever to get, btw. Second, I went to the bar to order a couple of drinks since the waitress was taking forever to get our orders and had to wait for over 15 minutes to have someone at the bar ask me what I wanted. I normally do not post bad reviews, but I really think that the management has to do something immediately about customer service of their staff. Remember that you guys are in the service industry and a key for this industry is to give the best customer service possible to your customers. No matter how good your gaming machines, bowling lanes are (which they are), if your customer service is not good, then the overall experience is not going to be good. What a very disappointing experience! There were so many issues that we were certain we were being pranked. We were celebrating our daughter's birthday and decided dinner and bowling would be fun. Wrong! We dropped over $300 while we were there, and here is what we got: 1. Games that shut down after you swipe your card, happened more than once on more than one game. 2. We were sat by the host of a restaurant and told that a waiter would be there to help us. We waited 15 min before asking if there was a waiter. Same host told us he would check. Waited another 10 min and sought out a manager, who told us he would have somebody over. Waited another 10 min and decided to call the ME phone number. Talked to somebody in sales and said she would get somebody. She also was the first one to tell us that where we were seated (by the host) does not have waitstaff. Our bowling lane was ready... 3. Ordered our food as soon as we got to the lane since we had waited so long and knew what we wanted. We waited about 45 min before our meals started to arrive. Two orders of nachos arrived and the chicken was fridge cold. Our waiter felt it and agreed. So, only two of the 6 entrees were at the table. The pizza we ordered (cheese pizza) had been forgotten and the two orders of nachos had to be remade. Our hour of bowling was over. Still missing food. We waited over an hour to be served NACHOS! 4. We were "given" 30 more min in the lane, to which we declined because we had yet to eat and still wanted to have cake, which wouldn't have given us enough time anyway. We moved to another table. The nachos came, warm. Then, the pizza came, with pepperonis!! We specifically said a cheese pizza. No big deal, right? Pick them off and suck it up. WE WERE CHARGED FOR THEM! 5. We made management aware of the series of events that were happening. They decided that fair compensation would be to not charge us for our sodas and an additional $6.86 discount. It was such a huge disappointment to have this experience while spending so much money. Many of the games are broken. The golf course is full of holes that are damaged and hazardous. Wish I would have taken pictures of the damage. Also, there is nobody making sure rules are being followed. So much hoping through. At one point a group of teenagers played passed us, no big deal. However, when we moved up a hole, a ball came flying over our heads almost hitting my daughter. With all of darkness, wreck less behavior, and broken parts of the holes, I would consider this an accident waiting to happen. If I would have received a better compensation for 3 meals that caused so many issues, this review would not have happened. I understand that things don't always go perfect in life. I understand that there is probably a staff shortage, but come on now. Over and hour for nachos and pizza? It wasn't that the restaurant was overly busy. Cedric was a gem of a waiter. He was absolutely trying to make the best of a bad situation. I'm sorry he has to work at such a place that makes such blunders. On the other hand, the manager DID NOTHING! When I made him aware of the situation, he said "I just got here. I'll send somebody over to you." If ever I worked for a manager like that when I was in the restaurants, I would have left to find a different job. He did nothing to hear the complaint or ensure is that this was an abnormal situation. So, I can only assume by our experience and the reviews of others, that this is normal. Been bowling here twice-lanes are pretty good. Ordered food (appitizers at that)- took 1 hour to not ever get delivered. They delivered to the wrong lane, then didn't tell us for a while, then the server told us eventually. Then he disappeared and never brought us food. I sought out the manager to cancel the food as our lane time was about to end, he knew it had been delivered to the wrong lane, wasn't apologetic, and hadn't cared to come and talk to us or let us know what was going on. Second time going here. First time we had a bad experience so I thought we'd give it another try. Food was great as was the waitress that took care of us. We bowled after which is where things went down hill. The pins almost never set right. We had to reset them almost every time someone was up. When we told the staff, they said lane 28 always does that. They weren't very busy, so why give us that lane? After we did mini golf. Waited 10 minutes for someone to come to the counter. No one in sight. We just went back there ourselves and got what we needed since we were tired of waiting. Got everything and went to start, but we didn't have a scorecard. Found one, but no pencil. Apparently they ran out of them when the guy came back 15 minutes later. Aside from the food being good, I wouldn't go there again. The staff aren't personable and no one knows what's going on (our waitress aside, she was great). At the front desk they didn't know what to charge us. Next time I'll go to Dave and Busters. On a longer visit we certainly would have bowled and played some pool. Why only 3 stars? 2 out of the 3 employees we interacted with have zero idea how to treat customers. The machine that loads money onto cards malfunctioned, so I had to go for help. Neither the manager that I got to come over, or the girl who finished the job, ever once said "sorry about that" or, heaven forbid, "I put an extra $5 on your card because of the trouble". The girl literally turned off the machine and walked off without a single word. That's pathetic. My daughter and her cousin went last Sunday morning at before 10am and took advantage of the $12.99 early bird special that included unlimited laser tag, bowling, mini golf and rocking climbing. A fantastic deal! It doesn't include bowling shoe rentals or money for the arcade. The mornings are not at all busy, which is nice. They started of with laser tag (they were the only two, lol). By noon though, there are plenty more signed up to play laser tag. They rock climbed for about 45 min, and then played a round of glow-in-the-dark mini golf (it was a little hard to see in there). Didn't try bowling, billiards, the arcade or any the food. Everything was clean, including the bathrooms. I would definitely go back the next time we are in Austin. read more

Honestly, just a really terribly run venue. Took a group of kids here and we unfortunately, did not have a great experience. Since we had a large party, we figured this would be the perfect space to play games and eat dinner. I asked the employees where we should sit to order and they told me. We waited for an hour. I even went up to the bartender three different times and asked him if he could send a server or if we needed to place the order through the bar. He said someone would be by. She walked straight by us and ignored us on multiple occasions. We really tried to be patient and give the benefit of the doubt, but the "customer service" was terrible. Had a large group party here over the weekend, first time visiting the place. We were given a nacho/taco bar which was really good! The steak that was provided was excellent. Unfortunately the food wasn't out for very long and was packed up while the majority of our group was still standing by. Our group also had the drink package but we didn't seem to get a server that was assigned to us - this resulted in lengthy waits at the bar. Game area is nice and there is plenty of room to get around. They have some classics in the game area. I opted out of the laser tag though. We all still had a great time but I do wish we had our own server as it would have made the experience even better for our group. read more

Roaches Roaches Roaches!!! I came here for a work event and while we were bowling there were at least two roaches that were crawling from the seats. I was so hesitant to sitdown, eat, drink or even use the restroom after seeing those disgusting critters. We even informed a staff member of one of the roaches crawling about and once he spotted it, he killed it, and laughed it off as if it were a normal. I will not be back! P.S. CAUTION - Discriminatory behavior! I was at Main Event this evening and tried rock climbing. I have a genetic lung disease, Cystic Fibrosis, causing me to only have 50% function of my lungs. Cardio exercise is difficult but a great benefit for this. I wore a mask out of respect for others but pulled my mask down once I reached the top of the wall to ease my breathing. Once I got down I was told by Ryan, the manager, I have to keep the mask on the full time I'm on the wall. I explained I have a lung disease and via the CDC I am considered exempted and protected by the Americans with Disabilities Act. Ryan again stated "All I know is you have to wear a mask at all times no matter what". At that point I decided to leave due to feeling very discriminated against. Either the company has no problem with discriminating behavior or the employees have a severe lack of education.
