What a blast. Went with my son and one of his best friends on a whim. I've been to the one in Dallas before and had so much fun! This has a great location. If it was cooler would have been nice to sit outside but the Texas heat was screaming NOOOO! So many different types of games to choose from. I kept to the OG games. All games were fully functioning so no out of orders anywhere. Loved the free water cups at the bar area. We did not eat anything since we had already had our dinner before coming but did see a huge brick oven wood burning pizza oven and it smelled heavenly!! Want to definitely come back for a longer time and eat for sure. This place is such a bargain for what you get. We went on a Tuesday night and parking was hard to find so it's pretty popular for sure! Cannot speak on service since didn't do a meal or bar purchase but guy at the front door was super friendly! Reducing my review because it seems like every game here is broken sure they turn on but then the joystick don't work or the guns don't align. They have one game over by the ski ball and it's just flames because the game doesn't know how to start or it won't reset then their Jurassic Park game, which is super popular. One of the guns doesn't even work on the left it just the targeting is off anyways I'm getting out is the Game tax here are not doing their jobs at all and it's really fall apart and the games aren't getting updated. Even more brilliant is making all the arcade machines free play, so when you pay the $12.99 to get in, you have the opportunity to play any game your heart desires. I drank two beers while at Cidercade, their Texas Blonde and their Pistolas Mexican Lager. Both were good and easy to drink. All the arcade games have nearby areas to place your drinks so you can lock in on the games as needed. The collection of games is great and varied, from pinball machines and Japanese rhythm games to classic arcade games like Q*bert, Donkey Kong, Tetris, and more. There are racing games, Guitar Hero Arcade, rail shooters, Pop-A-Shot, skee ball, and plenty of other options. I enjoy that most of the people moving around Cidercade feel pretty sophisticated and do not get too rowdy like at other bars. Everyone is there to have a good time and chill. Cidercade Austin provides a ton of gameplay for a fair price, and the food and drink prices are reasonable too. They have solid cider for adults. Cidercade has an app you can play games on to earn points toward free entry. The parking lot is small when the location is busy, so you may have to park a bit away and look out for No Parking/Tow Zone signs on nearby streets! It's adequate during less buy times. It's less busy in the first couple hours of the day on weekends; if you can manage, I recommend going then to get more gameplay on the popular games like air hockey. There will be a lot of kids, so be prepared for that. They have a patio with a nice view of the city which can also provide a break from the sounds inside. read more

I love how you only pay an entry fee of approximately $20 and you get to experience unlimited games for the duration of your visit. Cidercade offers a variety of games ranging from all the classics to modern day arcade games. Always a great time here. The ciders offered are amazing. I personally love the Peach Paradise. The pizza here is also phenomenal (I highly recommend the Meat Lovers). Service here is always friendly and the vibes definitely keep me coming back. The back patio allows you to see the city skyline views of downtown. You can also walk to the boardwalk within a short walk behind Cider Cade, allowing you a better view of the city skyline. We're visiting Austin from the mountains of Western North Carolina and stopped by Cidercade--and had an absolute blast. Tons of games to choose from, all included with the price of admission, which made it easy to relax and play without keeping track of anything. The views of the river and city are gorgeous and really add to the experience. There were lots of fun cider options and a solid food menu (we didn't eat this time, but everything looked great). This place is grimy, it gets so packed and the air could use better circulation. So for those little things I give it a solid four stars. Simple concept, it's arcade where you pay a fee to go inside, and get to play all day. Door staff was friendly and fast in getting the line inside. The machines don't take any money and you just jump on one that is free. There is some outside seating if you want to get some fresh air and socialize or eat. The food! I am a pizza lover, and I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the Cidercade pie was. My husband and I ended up splitting a pickle pizza and it was incredible. Thin crust, not too greasy and they managed to keep it from being over salted. Order it if you want a sour salty carbohydrate treat. It's a one person serving if you're really hungry. So, Ive been to two other Cidercade locations and I prefer the other two locations over this one. Parking is a situation, but that is generally an Austin thing. The location to order drinks is smack dab in the middle of the arcade vs up front like the other two locations I've been too. With the sounds of the games, customers, etc it was really hard to talk with the bartenders to get our drink orders in. It felt like we all had to yell to be heard. Plus, they had the water cups just sitting out. Playing games was fun but there was a number of unmonitored kids that would jump in front of you in line, long gone are the quarter on the counter wait your turn rules I guess, that even my kid got flustered with how many times he got cut off after waiting his turn. I would think that somewhere pushing drinks and with a no kids after a certain time rule would enforce the monitor your kids but I guess not. We'll probably stick to the locations closer to home next time. read more

This place is legit - depending on the time. The positive - most of the games were operational and they had some great games. Staff was for the most part super friendly. Facility was clean, although I wish they had more hand sanitizer around. Something gross about touching a bunch of games after many people. The only food we tried was the pizza and it was good. The bad - depending on how crowded it is, you might not be able to play your favorite game. It isn't that large of a place so I suspect weekends are a bit of a mess and pretty crowded. As a cider girly, this was my heaven. No beer/liquor/mixed drinks of any kind. I been to the one in Houston and some if the games are different so it's great that you can learn of different games at each location. We were hanging here until we could get ready for out concert so we spent a comfortable amount of time here. You can taste samples of the flavors which is cool. A try before you buy. This company is exclusively the Bishop Ciders, the company is based in Dallas and the bartender told me they rotate flavors so you aren't bored in taste if you frequent enough. During the day, children are welcome but after 8, adults only! So if you want a more adult atmosphere, come in later or you want your kiddos to have fun, you have the entire day. I hope they bring this in San Antonio. Otherwise, I'll just get my fix by visiting Austin. read more

I am really glad places like this exist. Its $12 for "all you can play" arcade games plus you can get some thin pizza and some good ciders. While I didn't get the pizza, I did try a few ciders and they were much better than expected. The arcade games were pretty good as well with loads of gems, but since this place is unlimited arcade play, some of the games got really hogged up. Its also extremely loud in there, but I guess that should be expected. I like that its pretty much an arcade bar, but is set up to be family friendly. There's something for everybody here! I also liked the outdoor area overlooking the lake, but it was a little too hot when I was there! read more

When this place was closing tonight a man working there yelled at everyone to get out and was extremely hostile and rude. He unplugged the game we were playing in a very furious manner. He could have just said "hey guys we are closed" and we would have left right away! Instead, the guy about gave everyone a panic attack from how crazy he sounded. I was so confused about what was going on. He came off as a violent man being aggressive to customers. I will never go back to this place after having such a jarring experience. Seriously, who treats people like that. It was so incredibly agro and off putting especially after the tragedy on West 5th a couple weeks ago. I was so freaked out by this behavior. So much fun! This is a must for date night, I wish we had stopped in earlier while on our trip and not on a weekend as we went on a Saturday and it was PACKED. Everyone seemed pretty understanding of playing the games one time and moving if there was a line. We were happy to see guitar hero and a game similar to dance-dance revolution offered. A great gathering place for anyone and well worth it for the experience. You pay an entrance fee of $12, they put a yellow wristband and you can stay as long as you want. There are so many arcade games though the lines can get a tad bit long. I went on a Saturday so that's probably why. You can order food through a QR code outdoors and you'll be notified once it's ready. Heads up the chicken pizza is really spicy for those that cannot handle the heat. But the warm chocolate chip cookies definitely helped with the heat. I also got a flight of 5 hard ciders. You get to choose 5 different ciders and you're allowed to sample as many as you want- they have a wide variety of selections. They hand out the ciders 2 at a time and if at anytime you want to change your original selections you are allowed to. Overall a great hang out spot if you want to catch up with your friends and get competitive but the wait time for some of the more popular games can be a tad long. Wonderful experience of nostalgia. This place is nestled in a little pocket along Riverside Dr. There is plenty of parking, so you don't have to be greedy about the parking in the first space you see. The deal is $12 cover at the door, for access to the space and that means all the arcade games you want. They have a lot of classics, like the original Street Fighter, Q Bert, And my personal old time favorite, 1943. They got Bad Dudes, pinball games, skee ball, basketball, Pac-Man, Miss or original, seated or standing. Remember Joust? They have it. It's a cider house and I tried a few ciders. The Skill Check was a good dry cider, the sour lemonade had a good taste to it too. The personal pizzas looked great, but we opted for the smoked wings. If you're into spicy, the spicy habanero peach nectar wasn't too bad. If you're into a sweeter taste, the crack berry BBQ wasn't too bad either. I thought the place was well run. As expected with any arcade some of the games needed maintenance, but that was the exception not the rule. Somebody was picking up drink cups, but I barely saw any around the games - so, maybe , most folks cleaned up after themselves. A lot of the games had a barrel close by or a shelf built into the side of the game. Bathroom was labeled as the Whiz Palace...it was clean and maintained.
