The pinball machines are typically $1 or more per game, while the classic arcade games are just 50 cents each! I was especially in awe of the incredible pinball machines, including The X-Files, John Wick, Aerosmith, South Park, and more. We were in the process of leaving the second time. Every time we would go, multiple games wouldn't work but it's part of the pinballz experience and we just wrote it off as no big deal but the losses do pile up. I was there today and it was busy and more than half of the games didn't work. When they did work; they had glitches. I found an employee which is tough and they saw what I was saying and apologized and said to go to the counter and they can credit me back. The woman at the counter wasn't as nice and told me she wouldn't be crediting me back for games that didn't work and said it with a huge attitude. The way people treat people there is wild. I've literally spent thousands of dollars and when telling them I was having issues with 5 games and would like to be credited back for the games that didn't work; they seemed to take satisfaction in telling me no. I won't be back and no one there cares. Broken games and counter people with superiority complexes aren't a great match but they will still make their money. The last thing this place is is fun.

We showed up on a Saturday night and I was expecting it to be a lot busier. I assumed it would be crawling with rugrats and ankle biters but my friend and I were it. They had a Saturday night special where it was unlimited play with any type of blaster. There was about 1.5-2 hours left before they closed up and figured we could play a lot of games. Since it was the two of us it was mano y mano while we had a gamesmaster/ref/time keeper there. The space is littered with Darts and with the variety of blasters available you need to be cognizant of what 'caliber' you're using. A family ended of four ended up coming in so despite being outnumbered 2-1 we beat them due to superior tactics, coordinated teamwork and the fact that two of the them hadn't hit puberty yet. During the movie, my mom's blood sugar dropped and we needed to order a Coca Cola quickly. We tried using the QR system but had issues with it. We then flagged down a server, but the Coke still never arrived. In a situation like that, relying almost entirely on a QR code isn't just frustrating, it can become a real problem. I also arrived early because I wanted to order food before the movie started. I assumed my order had been placed, but it hadn't, and no one came by to check. I ended up waiting much longer before I realized nothing had been submitted. The old paper order cards made it much clearer that your order had been received. Other theaters, like movie house and eatery , use QR ordering but still have servers available to take orders if needed. That hybrid approach makes much more sense. The QR system at Alamo is distracting, takes you out of the movie, and feels like it's replacing customer service instead of improving it. I also noticed the menu seems much more limited than it used to be, with several favorite items no longer available. On top of that, I ordered a frozen margarita and it was delivered without a straw. Drinking a frozen margarita without a straw isn't exactly practical. I've always enjoyed coming to Alamo Drafthouse because of the service and the overall experience, but this new ordering system takes away from what made it special. I sincerely hope you'll reconsider relying so heavily on QR ordering and bring back the option to order directly from servers.
