Wow! What a gem for all ages! We came here to kill time and ended up staying for twice as much longer than planned! We originally were just going to check out the store front, but ended up giving in to the whole museum and free play arcade admission! Engaging in a scavenger hunt throughout the store PLUS playing all of the OG arcade games PLUS exploring all of the nostalgic things all at once was so fun for us that we found ourselves encouraging other people we met throughout the day to go check it out too! We stayed long enough to experience both the weekend rush and had a good chunk of time with the whole place just to ourselves too. If you're in the area, we recommend this being on your to-do list!

What a hidden gem. Looking to kill some time? Stop by the Texas Toy Museum. it is a love letter to the kid in all of us. It's a small museum but you get in and out privileges for the whole day. They offer some food and beer. The clerk was super sweet and was very talking. The layout of the music Is smart. Work your way through your child hood. All those arcade games you grew up with you can finals finish with unlimited game play. Great for the solo adventurer or with the kids.

One of the several display/game areas.

If your a toy collector then you will find this place extremely interesting. A vast collection of action figures and other items, all grouped and displayed within their own giant dioramas. Every inch of this place is just covered with items, even the passage to the restrooms. Lot's of classic video games going back to the original space invaders and all on free play. There is a cover charge to get in but you can stay and play as long as you like. If your not into playing the games then the entry fee is a little steep. But, I can see they need to charge to keep the place open and pay the bills and probably machine upkeep. Recommended if your into playing retro games and pinball.

What a fun place to be. They have it all in means of older toys and they have everything. They give you a scavenger hunt to do while you're looking. They also have quite a few pinball and old arcade games and an NES and super NES with games to play as well. What a fun way to spend an afternoon.

Came back here after a few years on Thursday. I love it here so much. I never not want to come here. The new location looks bigger, more to look at and to play with! If you came here some time back, return because there's more! If you've never been here you MUST go. Even though I recently went I want to go back again I'm bringing all my friends here!

Even more brilliant is making all the arcade machines free play, so when you pay the $12.99 to get in, you have the opportunity to play any game your heart desires. I drank two beers while at Cidercade, their Texas Blonde and their Pistolas Mexican Lager. Both were good and easy to drink. All the arcade games have nearby areas to place your drinks so you can lock in on the games as needed. The collection of games is great and varied, from pinball machines and Japanese rhythm games to classic arcade games like Q*bert, Donkey Kong, Tetris, and more. There are racing games, Guitar Hero Arcade, rail shooters, Pop-A-Shot, skee ball, and plenty of other options. I enjoy that most of the people moving around Cidercade feel pretty sophisticated and do not get too rowdy like at other bars. Everyone is there to have a good time and chill. All the games are clean, which is crazy knowing how much beer and how many drinks are being consumed around them. A little booze in your system and playing pinball is an amazing experience, and I cannot wait to go back. RIYL: The Y2K center but you were alive in the 2000s.

During this visit to Pinstack we got food, played games and did some bowling. The bowling was fun but it's bowling so you should know what to expect. The food was half and half. The Mac and Cheese balls were super super good and my wife and I gobbled those up quick. The fries however, not that great. It's supposed to be "cheese fries" but in actuality it was just a bunch of fries with a small amount of shredded cheese and some sour cream on top. The games were fun but it does cost a lot of points per game to do anything. If you're gonna get a small amount of game credits on your play card, like 20 for example, you'll run out of points quick. I would like to come back again for bowling but I won't rush out the door to come back. I'd say if you're coming here for the first time, get a good amount of credits on your game card or just do bowling. Food is up to you since we only tried 2 appetizers I can't comment too much on it.

When we walked up to the doors they were locked even though the sign says they open at 2pm , it was 2:30pm. A woman walked up & unlocked the doors for us, I just thought maybe it was for safety since it is located in a busy area. But no one was inside just her no other workers or people, it didn't smell like food or popcorn. Even though there was a machine.Very odd so not sure if they sell food or not. Good thing we had eaten before we went! So we pay for the baby to play in the jungle gym which was a very reasonable $5 maybe & $3 for mom to go in with him, she sold us a pair of socks for the baby $3, not bad at all. Even though he only went in once it's very dark and not too appealing. To play the arcade games you put $ on a reloadable card. The games go by points so each point is a quarter. There was plenty of seating area plenty of chairs & tables but just no people! :( I was kind of surprised for it being a Friday afternoon & summer time, no school for the kids. My grand baby immediately runs to the arcade games and they had lot's of toddler friendly rides for him which were all around 3 to 4 points. As we explored the other games I noticed a few broken ones, then as I really took a good look more & more were broken or missing parts. Even the air hockey was broken. I understand a few here & there but no it was a lot, I'm glad I didn't have my teenagers because they didn't have many options for that age group. The neighborhood it's located in is pretty rough so maybe parents just let their kids tear up the place over the years:( Not too sure but I really feel bad for this company. My toddler grandson enjoyed himself, it was pretty reasonable priceI would definitely take him back to play games if it stays in business.

It's a fairly reasonable place to go on hot summer afternoon. The kids spent an hour running around a large playscape. It always makes me pleased to see them come back to the table nice and sweaty for a drink. We got a pizza which wasn't too bad and a hot dog which he ate all of, so it must have been pretty good too. Then they got to play games and win coupons for "prizes". They each went through a $10 "game card" pretty quickly, but got to pick things they wanted. Although this place isn't squeaky clean, the staff were exceptionally nice. It wasn't terribly packed either, which is great for places like this. During the last 45 minutes unfortunately there was one little girl who was able to scream so loud (and frequently) that I jumped almost every time she let out one of her frequent squeals of joy. Can't blame that on anyone but the parents though and it's rare they'd do anything about it at a place like this.

I was not prepared for the sensory explosion I experienced when entering Main Event. Lights, camera, action - bright lights permeated throughout the building, sounds of the games being played sharpened your senses and the roar of the crowd within the building felt like you were nearing the end of a race finish line. Let's talk about this place...Main Event Austin is an ideal location for entertainment and fun for every age group! The venue has an assortment of activities to choose from - bowling, arcade games, laser tag, and billiards. Main Event is perfect for families, friends, or group outings. There were a variety of customers present - bowlers, several groups having private parties in the party rooms towards the back of the facility, billiard players and a plethora of arcade customers. Wow! We had a pizza party with a variety of pizza being served. Drinks were on your own, if you chose to have adult beverages. It is always interesting to see work colleagues in a non-work setting. Then several hours later we were notified that our party needed to be pushed back to 2:30pm because of a buyout, ok sure. Main Event coordinator apologized and offered items to make up for the mistake and booking issue. Then I noticed on the contact a 12% service fee ($46 and some change), I asked the event coordinator and she explained that the 12% goes to the event host/server. This was not the case it was a 12% booking fee that goes to the front office staff. WOW! 12% to book online?!?! Seriously?! The server was the one who explained it to me. When I asked the manager on duty she gave me attitude and basically said "you signed the contract so you have to pay it". The day of the party it didn't seem like everyone was on the same page, our host/server did the best he could and apologized several times but it was out of his hands. The pizza came out late and the wings arrived 40 minutes after the pizza. The pizza was not hot and the wing platter turned out to be wings, tenders and nuggets. We ate the wings and tried to return the tenders and nuggets but no manager came to the table. We took care of the host/server with cash tip but we definitely don't recommend this place for birthday parties or gatherings.
