    Inside! A vibeeee

Dirty Bill's is probably the perfect name for this bar to be quite honest. What a divey dive bar!!! I looooved it! Was in town for work and came here after dinner with some coworkers. Even though it was late on a Tuesday, it was pretty buzzy in here! This is definitely your typical dive bar. Looks like your typical dive bar. They only had one bartender working, so it was a bit of a wait for a drink, but not bad!! I got my typical gin & tonic and it was perfect. The music and vibe in here was definitely a good one. A lot of after work cocktails it felt like so definitely fit for us, too. The bar is filled with Christmas lights above, which is so cool. There were photos on the wall of I'm assuming frequent customers, and I kep thinking, hm, I'm not but I would totally put my own photo up on that wall haha. The bathrooms were grungy but considerably clean honestly. Definitely would come back here and recommend for a great spot to grab a casual drink with friends!

Great bar to visit for cold beers in Austin TX. A must visit dive bar. Cool memorabilia inside and great part of town.

My favorite dive bar in Austin! The music is always middle-school pop hits that every single person knows the words to which make it a really fun time. The drinks are cheap and it's a cramped space but honestly it's way more fun this way. Would not recommend for a large party but it's really fun for smaller groups who don't mind dancing in a tight space.

Tanner was the best bartender we've ever had 10/10 Austin experience. Dirty bills is the best!

Tanner was the best bartender we've had in Austin ! Everything was exceptional. Music , drinks, service ! We will be back

We ordered some drinks with our card and were planning on tipping cash. The bar tenders saw we signed the check without writing a tip and said "we don't work for free, if you want a drink you can buy one again" wouldn't give us our money back either. Very fraudulent and shady business. Was a cool spot if it weren't for the service.

The atmosphere is always friendly, relaxed, and easy to settle into whether you're there for a quick drink or hanging out for the night. The drinks are consistently great, and they also have really solid weekday food specials. The sliders and tots are definitely the go-to items on the menu and always hit the spot after a few drinks. One thing I especially appreciate is how much effort they put into the themed décor during Christmas and Halloween. It really adds personality to the space and makes coming back during the holidays feel fun and memorable every year. Just an overall great neighborhood bar with good vibes and a lot of character.

One of my stipulations for relocation was to be within walking distance of my beloved Nickel City. Guess what? I am! Less than a five-minute walk. I love this place so much. It's not always about drinking. In fact, quite often I'll do mocktails, water, or soda. It's about community and friendship. The vibe at NC can't fully be expressed in words. It has to be experienced. The staff treat locals and tourists like friends. And, if you're lucky enough, you actually become friends. They're like a family. Same can be said about patrons, whether regulars, sometimers, or tourists, everyone feels the love. Everyone just gets it! They have some of the best cocktails around. The frozen Irish coffee is incredible. Espresso martinis on tap? Yes, please! And if you want the best bar/comfort food ever then order from their food truck, Delray Cafe. I actually been to The Dead Rabbit, but it was in New York. I found out that this location was related to the one in New York. I was surprised when I arrived that this location that it wasn't crowded being it was a Friday evening during at almost the end of Happy Hour. Seating was available right away. The service was fast, prompt, and professional. The staff were friendly, patient, and courteous. The ambiance was surprisingly not loud where you had to shout your order. Speaking about my order -- yes, I ordered the fish and chips, and a pint of Guinness. The fish and chips were cooked just right. The Guinness tasted like a properly-poured Guinness. It was too bad that I couldn't "split the G." Lol. The next time I'm in Austin, I'll be visiting them again.

It wasn't what he said, it was how he said it with a condescending attitude and tone. I was apparently a menace or "youngin" being rude. I removed my purse from the stool and put it on the way too tiny hook for anyone's bag and then LITERALLY NO ONE sat there the next 40 minutes until we left. I'm always thoughtful, that if it's a crowded place, that I wouldn't take up a stool with my bag . Him, his comment and attitude were unnecessary. Whether he "built" the bar or not. They have a bar area and a separate food ordering window and once you open a tab at either area, you will only end up with a single bill. We ordered something to drink while we reviewed the burger options on the menu. We decided on the Amarillo burger and Double Dog Texas Tommy. Be warned, the burgers are Texas sized 12 oz patties and the double dog was big too so come hungry. After a short wait, your name is called to pick up your order at the window. Our food was delicious and truly one of the best burgers I have had in a long time. It was cut in half which facilitates eating it as a 12 oz burger is a massive bite. The double dog is also massive and was very beefy tasting. The interior of the bar is dark with a gothic horror film genre. There is an upstairs area with some games, two pool tables and a couple of old school pinball machines including a Frankenstein machine. Food: I had the "Pitts" and hubby got the "Chicago" (burgers). Mine was exceptional, hubby's was just average. The burgers are HUGE, the buns are super soft, and the fries are crispy (unless you add chili and queso like I did--yum). Service: it's an "order at the counter" dive bar--don't expect too much. The bartenders were slammed, but quick with witty banter and cold drinks. We didn't order one, but the Bloody Mary looks like a work of art! As for the kitchen window, Mr. Grumpy Dick will unhappily take your order and bark responses that are mostly incoherent. It's clear from other Yelpers this guy is off his meds and shouldn't be interacting with people. Ambiance: we met 15 or so of our new best friends--the patrons are all super friendly (and drunk). The place is dark and loud, the bar chairs are likely originals from their grand opening in the 90s (mine no longer turned), and in general, Lysol couldn't hurt (it's similar to an outdoor patio except you're indoors). The AC couldn't keep up with all the traffic, so it got hot. Also, after England beat Norway, an explicit, insanely graphic horror movie was put on the TVs--yikes!! Not ideal in any eating establishment...ever. If you're in the mood for an authentic dive bar, this place has that vibe for sure!!
