This is such a great spot to come year round, but especially in the holiday season. They have SO much signage about not parking in the strip mall, so if you still park there, that's on you. Awesome holiday drinks (I loved the strong spiked hot cocoa I had!) and even better that you can grab a slice of great pizza from next door.

Lala's is always such a fun spot, and I recently discovered their great happy hour which includes $5 bloody marys M-F 4-7 pm. Pretty delicious! The seating outside was spacious and service was great. Love the decor and festive feel. Highly recommend!

Classic dive bar with strong drinks. There's a pool table and a Photo Booth. Theres excellent happy hour specials. The bartenders are not overly friendly but not rude either. They open on time but they didn't have their holiday drink specials available even though they were advertising them so that was highly disappointing. Plenty of seating outside in their decorated area but many people were smoking cigarettes so we didn't stay out there. Do not believe there is a lot of parking so best to uber if possible.

Lala's is a Christmas themed dive bar in Austin Texas. It's quirky, eclectic, weird and charming at the same time. Quintessential Austin I might say. The service here was good and we stuck with beer since we were on a dive bar crawl. We had fun. There is a photo booth and the pictures get emailed to you.

Quintessential Austin. A must for locals and visitors alike. Year round Christmas dive. Can't beat it. Whether beer, seltzers or old fashioneds, they've got you covered. Love the staff as they've always been super friendly. The Christmas countdown clock is a nice touch. Plenty of tables and a pool table for your pleasure. A must when in Austin

Novelty bars are the way to my heart Lalas is a true dive bar with a year around Christmas theme and I absolutely love it. They had your standard dive offerings like pool and a laid back atmosphere but I absolutely love the decor, it is a maximalists dream

Back room pool table

Fun local bar with a year round Christmas theme. Bring pizza in from the takeout parlor next door, the pizza is excellent.

I came here on a date. The date sucked but the aesthetics and charm of this place was entertaining. I ordered the prancer's punch. It was decently but a little too sweet for my liking. Parking is almost nonexistent. I parked across the street with no issue. I was told the pizza place next store is really good.

Super fun set up and plenty of space for large parties. Really enjoyed how there was a super big outdoor area with a heater above, the weather is getting a little chilly so a hot toddy with Christmas lights all around was so cozy and cute. Does have a sort of "dive bar" feel but still everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Can grab a cocktail but also a beer which is great for everyone. Would be a great place for a group to check out! I took my dog so it is pet friendly you just need to sit outside.

Santa would come more than once a year if he knew about Lala's. What would be obnoxious and winky in L.A., this Christmas themed bar feels authentic and homey and unpretentious in Austin. With a big Santa throne, Christmas Story lamp, Christmas lights, hundreds of memorabilia (a still of Clark Griswald from Christmas vacation; Brooke Shields in Christmas light earrings on a Playboy cover), and a Countdown to Christmas timer (*points candy cane* Say Christmas one more time!!), with Santa himself on the roof with his sleigh, it feels right. It might be too much to say they don't slap you in the face with it, so instead I will suggest that it doesn't hurt. I absolutely loved the place, though it's small, and I would drag my friends here any future visit. The patio is a great place to eat pizza from next door. Amanda and Eric were awesome. And, it was National Beer Day so every Hef draft I bought got me a free raffle ticket for a paddleboard. It's the most wonderful time of the beer.

Unlike the other Christmas bars located around downtown Austin that pop up around the most wonderful time of the year, if you're looking to celebrate Christmas year round and away from a numbered street, you've found the right place. Unfortunately, since these elves work 365 days a year, they are not the friendliest, especially during the holidays. During The Season, Lala's is packed. You'll typically find a line out the door, but don't be deceived, as this line is to order drinks inside, not to actually go inside. There is also a bar outside, along with more seats, but the selections are limited. My advice after visiting and having a lackluster experience: visit this bar outside of the season. It's too packed during The Season and you can't even take pictures inside because it's too packed and small. Drink options are limited (about 6 drinks) and nothing special, bartenders/waitresses give too much attitude-- definitely on the naughty list.

Come here at least once a year for the last several years. Could have sworn I wrote a review. Oh well. Though I've been here many times, the last visit was finally on Xmas. It was spectacular! Service is always good. Always. Xmas was insanely busy and bartenders are still able to provide service that makes you feel like you're the only customer in the bar. Meaning the attention is there. The quality is there. The drinks are there! The decor is so far beyond holiday glitz and glamour. Absolutely the best fun.

Foxtail was sexy. Let me try to explain:…read more The vibes were giving warm, dim, intimate without being cramped. The space mixes art deco with a little bit of Spanish flair, tucked beside/adjacent to Mama Betty's. It's big, but arranged in a way that still feels cozy and social. The crowd? Late 20s to early 40s. Grown and attractive. Lively but not chaotic. Vibrant without being loud. Perfect for dressing up a little, socializing and lingering a little. We Ubered there, so I didn't get a full picture of the parking, but it seems like there may be a little parking garage or validated parking area? Maybe a pay for parking? I would read other reviews. Most of the staff? Fantastic. Professional, warm, funny. Our assigned waitress, however, gave off overwhelmed and low-energy. She was short with communication and it sort of dulled our sparkle for a moment, but the drinks and vibes quickly brought it back. Had we had another waitress, this place would have been a 10 out of 10. On to the drinks: Round one: espresso martinis (made with Tito's). Slightly sweet, bold, smooth, and very sippable. No coffee bean decorations on top, but full of flavor. No cream inside...sort of reminding you of a Black Russian. Served in a ribbed coupe glass. Round two: French 75s with Hendrick's. Punchy lemon flavor, a tad sweet, lower champagne notes but still giving French 75. Garnished with a dried lime slice instead of a lemon. Served elegant in those ribbed coupe glasses (which fit the aesthetic perfectly). The cocktails are well-crafted and intentional. They aren't overly boozy, but they are balanced, smooth and polished. Bathrooms? Immaculate. Unisex. Private stall rooms with their own individual doors. Efficient and modern. No long lines. Opportunity to mingle with the opposite sex in the bathroom if that suits your fancy. Foxtail feels like a good place to start a new chapter. We had good conversations and we enjoyed staying out just a little longer than we planned. Their Happy Hour (4:30-6pm weekdays) is officially on my radar for the future. I'll be back. I want this place to be routine. 9 out of 10.

It's a very cute bar that you would expect to see in downtown Austin. The service was extremely fast and by the time we got all of our drinks, our table at Mama's was ready. So it definitely was NOT an hour wait. And it was a Saturday. We ordered some wines and the Parmesan fries which were really good. I would definitely come back here again.

And the cherry on top? $6 glasses of delicious wine that carried us right through the meal. This place alone almost makes me sad to leave Austin tomorrow.

Another nice thing is that there's a huge lawn where kids can run around and play and entertain each other. The margs were standard, as were the chips and queso, but we really enjoyed the complimentary salsas. Our mains, unfortunately, left a lot to be desired. One of us got the mixed green salad with shrimp, which felt more like an assemblage of ingredients than a composed dish (dressing was good though). The other one of us got the Connie's crispy tacos plate, and those were really not good at all...like Taco Bell level. Our kiddo got the nachos with some chewy and unappetizing diced beef on them. Service was friendly and mostly speedy. Despite the food being pretty womp-womp, we do think we'd come here again because we digged the vibe and whole indoor-outdoor setup. Three stars for now, with the hopes of it improving on a future visit.

Rosé Gosé was a delightful Mother's Day lunch spot. It is a whole vibe, and it is uniquely French! When we walked in an artist was playing romantic music on his keyboard, which set the tone for the brunch. It is a small restaurant inside with a larger area of seating on the patio. Of course, our reservations were inside in the comforts of air conditioning. You immediately notice a wine wall hence the name Rosé Gosé. The restaurant has many windows which provide lots of natural light. The tables house miniature yellow roses and utensils sat in a small wooden block...very French. All the servers were dressed in mauve clothing that resemble scrubs from a hospital. If someone stepped out in a French beret, I would have fallen over. Our server, Sergey, immediately served us water and took our order. The restaurant was highlighted as a modern European bistro. The atmosphere was charming, elegant, and stylish making it ideal for a Mother's Day brunch. My hubby ordered a ribeye, eggs and French Fries. I ordered the avocado toast with salmon and egg whites. While I'm not a huge red meat eater, I tasted a piece of the hubs ribeye and it was nicely prepared. My avocado toast was yummy to the nth degree! Everything was perfect. The avocado was precisely cut and at the right level of softness. The salmon was chopped into tiny little squares and so enjoyable to eat. We could not be more pleased. With a name like Rosé Gosé you would expect their drinks to be superb. My hubby ordered a hibiscus tea, which was delightful. I ordered a mimosa that had high quality ingredients and was perfectly balanced...so smooth. We were also pleased with the drinks. This was the first time at Rosé Gosé, however, it definitely will not be the last.
