The page where I bought my ticket for the show I meant to go to (no mention of an age limit)
    Vermin L.

This seems like a cool place from the outside but they really need a proper "Know Before You Go" or FAQ on the website. For some context, I'm twenty years old and I'm a huge fan of this folk/country artist that played Sam's Town Point recently. I had been looking forward to this show for weeks and made sure to scour the website, ticket, and other online presences to see if the show was 21+. Nowhere online specified that the show itself was 21+. When I arrived, I checked in and the employee told me that I couldn't attend if I was under 21. I asked if I could sit outside and listen to the music from there and he told me "No, you need to leave." I cooperated and left but told him that they should put that information online somewhere to save people like me from driving for an hour to get there just to be turned away. He insisted that I just didn't look closely enough and that "it says it on the website (it doesn't)." For additional context, I've been to over a hundred shows all over the country in a lot of different venues. Almost every venue I've been to either is or has a bar except straight edge DIY spaces and record store sessions. The bare minimum of professionalism is to specify whether or not there is an age limit on the ticket itself. Also, be careful on the northwest-most side of the parking lot because there are a lot of jagged rocks poking up that would probably have damaged a car smaller/lower than mine. Sam's Town Point, fix your website and fix your parking lot.

Love this place so much! This is a great place to come to listen to live music. They have plenty of options for non-alcoholic beverages which made me super happy during Dry January! The staff is always smiling and wonderful, too.

Classic old Austin dive joint, which I love. The staff was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately it was so hot inside the bar, that it was difficult to enjoy the music. We'll be back once the weather cools off!

If you're looking for a divey kind of honky tonk that's in town, you've found your spot. It's the real deal, with a pool table, a good sized bar, dim lighting and a small stage. We got there early enough to find close parking and a table. When we left, the venue was packed and the parking extended down the street in both directions. Bonus: Great people watching and saloon dogs!

Simply AMAZING!!! I can't believe I haven't been here before. I love a dive bar and hidden gems. Fantastic music, great atmosphere, and all things I love about Austin. Please don't change it! Will be back!!!

Enjoyed boot scooting and taking on the live band. Can get a bit warm when crowded. Drinks reasonably priced.

There are booths, tables, high top tables, a few picnic styles bench tables, and a pretty large deck. They recently added a side deck. It would be nice if it was covered and then perhaps some lattice or other barrier to keep the Texas sun off your back! I've tried several things on the menu and I've enjoyed them all. I've seen other meals delivered and they all look great too. Today I popped in for a late lunch and lucky me it was still Brunch O'clock. I wavered between the chicken and waffles and the burger. I saw the burger being delivered to a nearby table and it immediately solidified my decision- burger!! I am a burger and fries "foodie". ;) I'm very picky about my burgers and have eaten some of the best burgers in town. It was delicious! The fries aren't my favorite but decent. The burger was perfectly cooked and so was the egg (breakfast burger). I'd definitely get that again! The bartenders are friendly and they are hard workers. This definitely is a place where their systems are intact. They all work together and get orders out quickly. I'm guessing the bartenders and the waitresses all pool their tips. They all hustle. I sit mainly at the bar so I can see their work effort. I've done that job before so I know how hard it can be.

I've tried their wings and burger and the burger is super delicious. The best thing they have on the many will probably come as a surprise, as it's their freaking churros!!! They have these mini churro bites on the menu for dessert that are served with a little chocolate sauce that's SO delicious. The people are friendly and the vibe is casual, with a lot of TVs around the bar to watch sports anywhere you sit. There's not too many bar options down in western south Austin, so this is a really good spot to meet up w its friends and watch a game while having some good food!

Bright and sunny, wide open with lots of natural light, tasteful hanging planters, and minimalist decor, there's nowhere to hide. Though I feel like I should crawl back into the dark, dank dive bars that I know best, it's a gorgeous breath of fresh air for those good hair days. Generous parking lot, easy off the highway, good evening hours. The only thing I'll knock it for is being so far south! This entire place feels like a cash grab following the mezcal trend. It's positioned as being a tequila/mezcal spot but their drinks are more basic than cocktails I can order at the airport. When I asked questions about the mezcal they use and offer the bartenders replies were always dealt with either annoyance and limited info or just an "I don't know." Plus it's $$$ you tip on top of the tip they already add but say nothing about? The basic cocktails that are known as Mexican street vendor drinks (not supposed to be $$$) can cost you over $20 alone! Then to be shady about tipping ... cash grab without a good experience. The there's the atmosphere... very limited parking shared with MANY other more busy bars, super loud inside because of no soft surfaces, and the worst part of all... the bench seats are built just tall enough that unless you're super tall, you'll have to sit at the edge of the bench and actively practice good posture. This more than the other things makes me want to leave immediately. You designed a bar to be pretty but in no way functional to its use. It's been a while since my last visit and honestly I chalked all this up to Austin's trend chasing entrepreneurs typical disconnected launch until I had AMAZING cocktails at another new spot that truly impressed with their same priced cocktails that were far far more intricate and creative PLUS they didn't try to con me out of more tip AND their space was warm, and inviting with truly exceptional customer service. That experience reminded me that inflation isn't the only thing making life more expensive ... it's also businesses delivering far less value than promised and demanding we are supremely grateful for their limited effort. If you don't want to leave the neighborhood but you still want a somewhat decent margarita .... it ain't here. Pay half the price at Bodhi's in the same parking lot.
