I ordered the steak and eggs meal and, it was the worst steak I've ever had in my life. I never send back food and have always been conflicted about the thought of it, but now I'm wishing I had. The steak was so chewy, 'stringy' and without flavor. It was super disappointing because this was the first steak I've ordered at a restaurant in more than 20 years. Additionally, the service was very mid, the server never checked up on us. I'm so disappointed in the restaurant but also disappointed in myself, because I should have sent it back. I met up with a friend here for brunch on a Sunday. The wait was about 20 to 30 minutes, which isn't bad for a proclaimed brunch location. It felt like a long time though after we were seated to get service. We put in our drink orders, but they took a really long time to come out. They came out almost at the same time as our food, which is rough because you're trying to space out your alcohol intake over the course of the visit. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my mimosa flight. It was pretty standard I got the version with pineapple, orange juice and cranberry juice for $20. Not bad pricing. I got the churro French toast and bacon which was good. The bacon was a little small and could've been crispy. My friend's daughter got the chilequiles which were mid. My friend got the Nutella French toast. She liked it. If you live in this neighborhood or are 15-20minutes away I think this is a nice place to swing by, but for me the drive was a bit much when there are closer places with similar offerings. read more

First off, the service moves at the speed of a DMV line the day after a holiday weekend. We had enough time between ordering and getting our food to reflect on life choices, reconnect spiritually, and consider applying for jobs there so we could check on our own order ourselves. Now let's talk about the drinks. Not cocktails, not fancy handcrafted lavender infused mocktails served by a guy named Sebastian. I'm talking regular soft drinks. Sodas. The kind you buy in a 12 pack at the grocery store. They bring them out in the actual can, no glass, no ice, no refill, no illusion of generosity whatsoever. And if you dare to ask for a second one? Boom, another $4 charge. Charging $4 per soda can while also making me pour it myself feels less like dining and more like I accidentally entered a luxury survival experience. At that point just hand me the Costco case and let me finance it. Again, the food was good. But between the slow service and the hostage negotiation approach to canned soda distribution, it's hard not to leave slightly irritated and oddly dehydrated. read more

Finally made it to this place! we tried coming last year, but there was a three hour wait so yes I recommend you come early because they get very busy and it gets full; we ordered the coffee flight, the red Chilaquiles with Birria and the omelette with Chilaquiles. Everything was so good. We had no room for dessert, but we kept looking around and all the plates looked amazing. We will come back and try something sweet as well our waiter was really nice. It's very cute. They have flights for everything! The matcha flight was so good. Each one had a very strong fruity flavor. It was hard to pick a favorite. The side of potatoes were great. The French Toast was giant but I think that made them a bit too dry for my liking. I would have preferred a thinner slice of bread to soak up more of the egg mixture. Honestly, just disappointed with how long the food took in between each plate. For example, i recieved my eggs and hashbrown wayy before i got the actual meal (waffles), it was about a 40 min overall wait for my food in general (my little sister had already received her meal we were literally just waiting on waffles), on top of that it was pretty dead so i couldn't see why the food took so long to get sent out ..ended up sending back the eggs & hashbrown and requested a refund due to them being cold by the time the waffles were out & hashbrown having no flavor whatsoever don't know what happened this time but this was the worst experience ive had here so far, compared to my last two times, if i can suggest something, maybe the servers checking in more on the tables would be a good idea, it takes a bit for your server to check on you, ask for refills whatsoever They were nice enough to comp us a free refill of pink lemonade, so that's nice overall, wouldn't come back, hoping this review brings some awareness on time management with food & bettering your guy's service read more

First time visiting Madres. Two locations, this was the Riverside one, other is in Rancho Cucamonga. Best part of our order was the coffee. The chilaquiles had some heat, but lacked layers of complimentary flavors. The churro French toast was more like a cronut, harder than French toast is supposed to be, lots of crunch which I wasn't expecting. Maybe with a side of syrup or a carmel drizzle with whipped cream drizzle would have elevated it. It's beautiful inside and fun ambience wise, the staff were super friendly and attentive, I just wish the food delivered as much as the pictures suggest they did. However the attentiveness was lacking. We asks for salsa for one Entre and it never came...we must of sat 15-20 minutes after finishing our meals before having to flag someone down to get our check. The place itself is also cute although it gets super loud FAST! Now the food. The chilaquiles rojo was pretty dry. You can kind of see it in the pic although beautifully plated. We gave it a 7 overall. The madre was much more flavorful, we gave it an 8.5! The waffle is pretty standard, the Nutella French toast looks beautiful but it's just ok! Looks better than it tastes. The two egg combo of bacon and eggs, I'm not sure I even got two eggs. I asked for over medium and def got them overhard which was disappointing. The hash browns were good...overall this place is just OK! I'm not dying to go back, but I also didn't feel like it was a total waste of money. Was in the area for an event pretty early and was looking for some vegan breakfast. This place surprisingly came across my radar, it was new to me, so I gave it a try. This seems like a pretty popular spot. The fare is mostly Mexican food, with a decent selection of vegan breakfast items. There was a wait for groups but not too long of a wait and a pretty good amount of seating. I sat at the bar and went over the menu. I couldn't help but notice how dirty the menus were. I know multiple people handle and look over them, but it doesn't look like there's any effort to wipe any food residue off of them. A simple lysol towel or something. Sat down at the bar, I ordered the tofu scramble with some mimosa flights -their green apple and pineapple. The food itself is pretty good. Not a great portion, but yummy for what it is. My mimosa and water glasses also didn't seem too clean, so I just drank from them in a way to only touch the clean parts and I didn't even drink from my water glass at all. For the food, I'd come back. Just hope things are a bit cleaner. read more
