I was just there and spent about $800. This was over three different departments. Not one person asked me in any department if I needed help. I set off the alarm as I walked out the door because the lady who rang up my dresses forgot to take one of the security tags off. I had to walk around and asked five different people to help me take the tag off so I could leave. Two people just sitting there chatting to each other said oh we don't work for Macy's we work for sunglasses. I said could you please find someone to help. They just continue to stand there and do nothing and ask no one to help me. It was the most pathetic excuse for customer service. I hate shopping at the store. All they know how to do is ask if you want to use a Macy's credit card. That is literally the only training these people get in customer service. read more

No one speaks English. They talk to each other and ignore customers. Waste of time. Apparently yelp needs me to type more words. Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. read more

I bought a sofa and loveseat from Macys in Aug 2016. Less than a year later it showed serious signs of wear. The warranty you get when you buy this is for 1 year. I called them, they sent some dude to my house who told me it was not fixable and was NORMAL wear and tear. Macy's told me the "guy" said it was normal and thus NOT replaceable. Not sure where I can buy a sofa that with constant usage will not show some wear. But if the warranty covers the sofa for a year, then it's replaceable. Don't buy anything from these people. They are crooked. I will NEVER shop Macy's again for anything. read more

Not bad. Sometimes you can find cool items on sale. The customer service is decent. Good selection for me at the guy section so ya it works for me!!! Like the bank robber told the teller....JUST THROW IT IN THE BAG!!! read more

Macy's Valley Fair has a decent selection-although it is often overcrowded-everybody knows that. Since I'm a short/small gal, I have to shop in petites. I am pleased overall with the selection and brands. I find many good pieces for my work wardrobe that hold up well through several washes. It is also great to use coupons here-however, for most of them, you are required to use your Macy's card. Shoes are another story-go in early and you will get awesome help! read more

Yay, I'm a fan of this Macy's, but my man hates going here and usually ends up wandering around the mall by himself because I'm here for hours. Yes, that's how good this Macy's is compared to the one close to me in Newark. My only complaint is that finding parking in this mall is ridiculous and the lines are long. Minus 1 star for that (4 stars total) otherwise they would get a 5. read more

Macy's Young Men SUCKS. When you grab a pair of Levi's jeans and they're wet, and when you smell your fingers and stink of PISS (EWWWWWWWW), you know the place SUCKS!!! I won't ever ever ever be back in that store again in my life - nor in the next one. read more

I was so impressed with the friendly service I received at Macy's Valley Fair. I was shopping for my sister's birthday presents, and I needed a little help finding a specific size. The salesperson (Katie) was working in the petite section (normally she works in cosmetics), but even though she was not very familiar with the department, she made my shopping experience a pleasant one. She was so cheerful and had a great attitude, even during this busy time of year (Christmas). We found what I was looking for, and she even gave me some make-up tips. Thank you Katie! read more

This is regarding 2 departments I dealt with & they were wonderful: the first was China. I was looking for new dishes for my new place, and the saleswoman, Roseanne Vilona spent so much time with me when I wanted to order some dishes. There was a problem because all the others in that line were on sale, except of course the ones I wanted. I went back a few days later, and she again helped me pick a simple pattern in the same line that I can mix-and-match with. She is AWESOME! I also was looking for some new furniture. I spent a lot of time with. A gentleman named Tommy. I asked so many questions (I'm the daughter of a former Interior Designer), so I was a real pain in the ass! He was wonderful and went out of his way. I didn't even order from him because I needed time to decide and currently live in Folsom. I ordered the furniture up here -- I feel bad, because not only did he not get a commission from the sale, but that is time in his life, he will never get back! read more

The Finish line shoe dept is a joke. I browsed, then picked a few shoes to try on. The clerk was attentive and nice, but the store did not have a single shoe I picked in my size in stock. Then he suggested a few more different shoes for me to try, and I said sure.......just to have him return a few minutes later with shoes that were not what he suggested, and a full size larger than my size, because they did not have any of the others in my size. I get it, I'm a size 7 and it's very common, but really?!? At the same time, I watched another sales clerk informing another woman they did not have her size or shoe available either. Overall, bad product availability and a very negative customer experience. read more

Originally I ordered something online and chose this store to pick up my items in stores thinking I would be the one to pick up the order. When I found out someone else would pick up my package for me, I called the store. The customer service lady who picked up the phone already had an attitude and told me I couldn't change the pick up information and I would personally have to come into the store. I ask to speak with the manager and as she claims she transferred the call and she hung up on me. When I came into the store to pick up my items, I had to walk around for over an hour to pick up 2 items because none of the other workers seemed to know where the "women's sock department" was. The point of ordering it online and picking it up in stores is to avoid the hassle. I finally pick up 1 item after waiting 20 minutes at the register and the cashier tells me I have to go to the jewelry section, across the store, to pick up another item. I wait another 20 minutes for someone to help me in the jewelry department and bring out my earrings. Fast forward 1 week later, I go to return 2 items. I stop at the first cash register I see, thinking I can return at any register. NOPE. The lady sent me downstairs and told me I can return at ANY register downstairs. I proceed downstairs and I stop at the shoe department and he sends me to the cosmetic department to return. But since I am returning 2 different brands of cosmetics, I ask him if I have to go to each individual brand's kiosk to return. I was already frustrated at this point and the woman next to him completed the return for me. The organization and communication between the managers and cashiers is nonexistent and the customers suffer the consequences. This 1 star is for the lady who helped me with my return anyways without making me walk across the store, yet again. read more

Its cool to shop but some workers are confused if your finding an item they give u a wrong answer which is annoying

This is an overdue review for ROBERT from the FURNITURE DEPARTMENT! I was just so blown away by Robert's customer service!! I was looking for a new couch with specific measurements and color. Robert was a total relief to my search. He found what I needed and I left a totally happy customer! Robert gave such great service and I wanted to express it to every Macy's customer whose shopping for furniture. Thank you so much Robert! read more

I was in the swimsuit section downstairs and got helped by Leslie. Very patient, very sweet and absolutely helpful, thanks for everything :)

For a return the cashiers in the departments turn you away (when they aren't doing anything) to sand in a line 10+ ppl deep. Stupid.

Macy's has really gone downhill since I shopped here in the 90s. The people that shop here have also changed. People are pushy and have no disregard for anyone else. I was stupid enough to patiently wait for a couple of idiots in the wrong line. I stood in line for half an hour waiting to pick up an online order and they only had one line for that. The person handling that line was not only doing online pick ups but ringing people up. There are registers all over the store to pay for your items and these idiots have to get rung up at this line...!? Really..!? They acted like they were the only customer around and took their sweet time slowly take the clothes off the hangers one by one and asking questions about a blanket they were ringing up. WTF...!? We weren't even in the clothing department, we were in the home appliances section..! The cashier was very accommodating but she should have been accommodating to us that were waiting in the correct line (and patiently at that!) I don't know the store policy for this but there was a sign above that register that clearly said "order pick up" so anyone who could read would know this is where you pick up orders, right? This rule should have been enforced. PICK UPS ONLY!!!! Come on Macy's .....!! Get your shit together and work on your customer service! No wonder you've filed for bankruptcy multiple times!! Learn from your mistakes! read more

The experience my wife had here today borders on racism. Hope the store manager takes appropriate steps to train their staff better. 1. When my wife went to check some Chanel makeup at around 1:30pm the lady there told her Chanel might not have right makeup for her skin color. It sounded rude be we gave her benefit of doubt that she probably meant they don't have relevant makeup in store right now. 2. If you want to try it you it is mandatory to buy it afterwards the lady said when when my wife asked if she could try a few things. 3. Do you think you can afford both of these ? She asked it this question for something that would have cost less than $200. We ended up buying all the stuff from Bare Minerals later. read more

I found Dory Jackson! She helped pair items in a flattering way with colors, quality, elegance and styles for 2018! I HATE crowds, I HATE shopping, I especially get discouraged when finding a killer style on a mannequin only to go searching without end for the style on the rack. I also get incredibly overwhelmed when finally finding something but not in my size. Dory made this experience divine, quick, painless. Dory will be my husbands personal shopper for my gifts in the future. I am sold on more experiences like this with her! read more

Huge shout out to Wendy who was working on the lower level today as the floor manager. She went above and beyond to help me return two items that I had purchased at another store. While she was serving me she received multiple requests from other departments and each time was kind patient and courteous. This lady is invaluable to Macy's!!! read more

Last couple times I've been to Men's Macy's at Valley Fair an associate by the name of Michael Schwarze has been very helpful and customer service oriented. He literally goes above and beyond every single time. My husband is on the thicker side, and if they don't have the size in store or if they have one available he will try his best to help me find it. He is very patient and goes out of his way to make us feel like we are the only customers in the store. I hope he is recognized for his hard work. He's always very knowledgeable about sales, and does not get frustrated when I use my coupons and try to find the best price for an item. Kudos to you Michael we will definitely be returning and looking for Michael in the future! He will definitely be our go to Macy's associate! read more

Two words: Loved It! This is a review of the furniture section. We bought a leather recliner from here and couldn't be more pleased with the experience. The sales clerk (Brigitte) wasn't pushy at all. She gave us enough time - took us around the displays and offered to put a hold on the pieces we were interested in and gave us her mobile number too in case we had questions. The next day, we returned to purchase the one we liked and she set us up with all the discounts she could find, including one for opening a new Macy's account. The piece was delivered most courteously by Macy's the following week and the guys didn't even expect a tip. After reading several horror stories, full points on this one. read more

This store is a wreck. I love Macys for their sales and their selection but the organization of the store is very difficult to manage. I was looking for socks and the department was a wreck. A lot of the socks were on the ground and everything looked messy. It was around 11 so I was surprised that the store could be such a mess at that time of day. Then I went to the woman's petite and also found the department unorganized. It is impossible to find anything in the store much less buy something. read more

Re: $2500 TAG Heuer watch I originally posted a very frustrated review of the challenges I faced with a watch that was damaged while out for repair c/o Macy's. In the end, Katelyn, the assistant store manager, was able to resolve my concerns by working with Travis, the fine jewelry manager. Though the process was a bit arduous, the resolution was eventually satisfactory. I think this is what is important, so I have moved them from one star to three. read more

It was sufficient, not great. I like Macy's because i can shop anywhere in the country and get the same brands for usually reasonable pricing. This store wasn't awful but it didn't seem as though anyone was keeping things in order. When I went to pay for someone, the cash wrap was empty, although after looking around the area, two people were back there within a couple of minutes, but only one was sort of ready to serve. read more

I like Macy's and always have. They have a great selection of everything from clothes to appliances. I especially like their men's selection. I have just graduated my undergraduate degree and came here looking for good men's dress shirts. My mom is a shopping extrodinairre and recommended this place so we checked it out. She urged me to come because of the sale on dress shirts. I got some awesome shirts especially BarIII which look and feel great. Overall phenomenal experience! read more

If you've ever had the pleasure of being caught up in the middle of the L.A. Riots, then feel free to skip this review, because whether you realize it or not, you already know about this Macy's (particularly the Women's shoe department) all too well! I understand that the employees make their living by way of commission, but Jesus Christ, there is no reason after every time I leave that place I should feel as if I have a legitimate case to press charges for being molested. If I need a pair of shoes, I will ask you for them, it's that simple. Either that or scan the department store's cluttered walkways for one of the DOZENS of pair of shoes yet to be picked up after the previous customer was too lazy to put them back. Every time I go there I feel as if I'm running in an obstacle course. In fact as soon as I park, I break out into a 15 minute stretching routine, with hopes of staying injury-free throughout my visit to this zoo. Now that my venting is out of the way, I will admit that this Macy's has an INCREDIBLE selection for both men and women. Let's just hope you can get out of there with your innocence still in tact. read more

I like Macy's. The Macy's at Westfield/Valley Fair Shopping Mall is huge. The only drawback is it is quite messy.

-i have not bought a pair of shoes in a while since my man challenged me to not buy any in 3 months, and if i did i'd have to give 10 of them away -i won the challege, trust me it was hard! -so i was walking thru macy's to get to my car when i remembered i could actually purchase one now! wwoohhooo! -it's been a bad month for me so i figured what the hell, buy a pair -i don't usually buy shoes at macy's but john, the guy helping me was great -he saw me eyeing those patent via spigas and said "oo, you like them expensive ones hu?" they weren't THAT expensive -i came back after i scoped out the wide variety of shoes they had -they were 25% off so i was like sure, let's try on my size -they were perfect! -i had a $50 gift certificate and another $20 dollars off a purchase over $60 on top of the 25% (they have really good offers for their card holders, fucken tempting) -bagged the shoes up =PAIR NO. 165 FOR ME! to my man's dismay read more

Watch out when you plan to purchase watches from Macy's. I recently purchased Citizen Eco-drive for $600 + tax, from Macy's Westfield Valley Fair, Santa Clara, CA; and the sales woman gave me a wrong information about the watch to sale and get her commission. She said the watch changes the time by itself if I travel around the world and also during Daylight saving and when it ends. I take her words because it is May's I can come back anytime if there is anything wrong. The good thing is I purchase the watch about a week before the Daylight saving and the watch didn't change. I tried to change it myself but it is not user friendly. Soon I took the watch back to Macy's; unfortunately both the sales and manager were acting so weird. They deny what they said and told me that they normally don't go in detail about the watch while selling. It took literally more than one hour to change the watch. Just because the badge is off the watch I can't return it or exchange it. They said all watches and Jewelry are final sale. Oh one more thing if the watch is a defective watch then I had to pay for a round trip shipping, which is more than $50. Now I don't know what to do. I just have to stack with the watch I don't like anymore. read more

I guess this my most terrible experience, probably even worse than negotiating with car dealer. Macy's issues their card when they cannot verify your information. You will found you really have the hard time to pay the bill. 1) Was told to apply for a Macy's card when checked out. The clerk types wrong address. LOW LEVEL MISTAKE. 2) Called several times, repeated same information over and over again (name, address, SSN,...etc) but nobody can solve the problem, I was told that someone will call me to handle this issue, but apparently they don't. 3) Of course, card never arrived and I tied to pay balance through phone and was told that they can not VERIFY my information, my account is LOCKED. I'll need to send all my personal information documents (ID, SSN, address proof,...,etc) and "FAX" to their department. FAX? Last time I heard this term is at DMV. Why they have the right to check all my information? They just a department store, not banks, insurance company and homeland security. 4) Have to pay my the bill in the store in person (of course, waiting in the line). 5) Finally I cancel this damm card, because it never shows up, to prevent the card from get stolen and deal with Macy's again, I cancel it. Now I just feel this is the most important thing I did at Macy's. Seriously, when my account is locked, I can still buy at Macy's store but cannot pay the bill online and by phone? What the logic behind it? read more

This is one of my favorite department stores! It has great deals on clothes and the clothes fit me well too! I would of given it a 5 stars but the problem is that it's not as clean and organized as some of the other department stores, sometimes it looks a bit messy and the changing rooms are often a mess too especially in the junior section. It looks like none of the staff went in there to clean up the clothes that customers try on. However, I do like how the clothes look. I like buying gifts for family and friends here too. The kids clothes section is great! I like how this store sells perfumes and make up too but they don't give any samples *sad face* read more

i'm boycotting Macy's...especially the Men's Dept!!! I purchased some jeans for my husband at the Macy's in Oakridge. Once I got home, my daughter pointed out that the jeans were tagged wrong---wrong size! I took them back to Valley Fair Macy's. I was going to exchange them, but I had my 4 month old so I wanted to be in and out! I thought I was considerate to point out that the jeans were tagged incorrectly (so that they just didn't stick them back in a pile and it wouldn't happen again to another consumer) BUT to my dismay, I was basically accused of SWITCHING TAGS!!! WTF!? The original associate working with me was examining the tag...then brought on another associate. The woman pointed out the tag was incorrect...which was the case I pointed out already...she said she could only give me back $9.99, when I was originally charged $40. Now, why would i be OK with that? She pointed out the jeans were a 2 year old style and that the sku on the tag didn't match the tag sewn into the jeans (how the F*** am i supposed to know). She then pointed out the tags (on the waistband) were stapled on and that one shouldn't purchase items w/ tags stapled on (i didn't even notice). I had my receipt and everything, still she refused to reimburse me, not even store credit. Then she nonchalantly commented "perhaps the jeans were mixed up w/ a pile you already had at home". WTF, are you kidding me?? She continued, "i'm not trying to insinuate anything...". She goes on to point out that the sku on the "stapled" tags are for a different denim color and she wanted to pull the jeans and show me!! Now why would I care! I argued, "clearly the person who rung me up made a mistake". The lady looked at my receipt and looked at the associate number and told me, "no, her number shows that she's worked at Macy's for a long time and she would have noticed the incorrect tag". OMG! I couldn't believe this. I argued w/ her that I was not going to leave there w/ no refund and jeans that didn't fit. I offered to take them back to Oakridge and attempt the return, then I decided to finally ask for a Manager. Long story long, the manager approved the full refund. Talk about being a "price tag police". I'll get my jeans from Nordstrom's next time, and pay three times the amount...then deal with that BS! read more

If I could put zero stars I would, THIS IS FOR THE JEWELRY DEPARTMENT!!!!!!! They have the WORST customer service and are NOT helpful. My friends engagement ring had a diamond missing and when we tried to get it fixed it took 17 weeks for them to give the ring back to her. My friend was told to come pick her ring up 17 weeks later and was turned down and told she could not pick up the ring without her fiancé with her. Her fiancé lives 5 hours away and would not be able to show up anytime soon. She later then got a call back saying she was given wrong information and was able to go back and get her ring THE SAME DAY SHE WAS TURNED AWAY. When talking to the manager and asking for any type of accommodation or just an apology, she was given extreme attitude and the manager was not apologetic at all. DO NOT BUY FROM THEIR JEWELRY DEPARTMENT, YOU WILL REGRET IT. 17 weeks without an engagement ring is NOT ACCEPTABLE. read more

They agreed to take it back but with a 10% restocking fee. I was not told of this fee. This is in addition to the $125.00 delivery fee that was suppose to be waived with purchases over $999.000.
