I'm shocked by the number of five star reviews because my experience was anything but! I walked in and the gentleman at the register, asks "how may I help you today" kindly but as soon as I said that I have a return, his demeanor changes completely. I asked him if they have any sweaters with a different type of material because I found this one itchy, but he's not really interested. He just tells me "let's just take care of this return first and then we'll see". so he processes my return and says "alright, you're all set", without any intention of following up on the question I had asked earlier. I asked again, "so do you have any other sweaters, with a different type of wool, and he says, "well there's some sweaters on the counter behind you. You can take a look ", without any intention of helping. so, I have to literally ask "what kind of material are those sweaters made of?" now he doesn't know either so he looks up the item on his computer and he tells me that they are indeed a different type of wool. It should not have taken this much effort for my question to be answered. Could he be any less interested in making a sale? At this point he gets a call with a customer, presumably, and stays on this call for 5 minutes. I continue to browse and find a sweater that I quite like and bring it up to the counter to ask him to look up the price and material for me. But he never gets off the call, which isn't entirely his fault. But he could have multitasked and or put the call on hold to help the customer that is actually there in person. But he really just did not seem interested in engaging with me. Where's that stellar bonobos customer service I keep reading about? Not present at the Santana row store on Monday 12/22 at 6pm. Management if you're reading this, that guy needs to be fired. You just lost a loyal customer! read more

We stopped into the Bonobos store at Santana Row just to figure out the right size and fit for my husband. He usually dreads clothes shopping, but our salesperson, Oscar, made the whole process smooth and easy. He was friendly, gave great advice, and really helped us narrow down what worked best. The clothing felt like high-quality material, and being able to see the colors and prints in person made a big difference in our decision-making. My husband also discovered that the size and fit he thought he needed wasn't actually the best match--so we were glad we tried everything in-store. He went above and beyond to ensure my husband had a wedding appropriate outfit that he looked and felt good in despite his initial apprehension for formal clothes. Great clothing, bummer staff. The employees basically sit on their couch until a customer comes in and then they do just about the bare minimum they can. They don't answer their phones and when they do, they cut you off, don't let you finish your sentence and have an attitude that makes you feel like you're a bother to them... even tho you dropped $800 on a suit Also, my suit arrived to my house wrinkled and dusty. I worked retail for ten years so I knew that the staff at the store weren't responsible for the condition of the suit, but wanted to show them anyway. I brought it in to show them and the associate told me "not to freak out" about it and begrudgingly steamed the jacket (didn't offer to steam the shirt or pants...) Pretty lame experience although the suit looks great. read more

We had a great experience at this store. We made an appointment ahead of time for my father-in-law and I to get suits for an upcoming family wedding. William greeted us as we walked in, and generally was awesome throughout. He multi-tasked helping the other while one of us was changing. We found the correct sizes for our suits. Now, the reason for four stars and not five is the inventory. They don't have the stuff in our sizes, and don't know when their inventory will refresh, so we're likely going to have to spend a bundle on tailoring the clothes. Other than inventory management, this place was great, and it's somewhat understandable given there are going to be about a billion weddings this summer. read more
