When I came here to write my experience at Macy's today I noticed that they have a 2.6 rating, let that sink in. A giant state of the art mall with a big name store that has a 2.6 rating, that pretty much sums it all up, that Macy's doesn't give a crap. well guess what it shows!! A lady was walking around, it seemed as if she worked there, I smiled as I shopped and she completely ignored me, so I thought, I guess she doesn't work here. Then a man walked by and she immediately asked him if she could help him, I was like WOW! I kept shopping and found some shirts, the 2 changing rooms in the area were closed and I asked two employees, they told me they were bust but I could go ask the lady at the register (the register had 3 customers in line). I just left the clothes and split. As I said earlier, they don't care and it shows. It is hard to believe they are still in business. read more

It's been a long time since I last stepped foot into Macy's at Valley Fair Shopping Center. Overall, the store looks more run down than I remembered it to be. Many clothing racks are a mess (or empty). Floor space where you would normally see racks are completely empty; it was just carpeting. The fitting rooms are full of clothing customers just left in there because they didn't want to put it on the rack by the fitting room entrance. BTW, that rack is also overflowing because they don't seem to have enough people to put things back. The bathroom needs some repair. We came here looking for a dress for my daughter's prom. There was a sign posted near the fancy dresses on the 1st floor that listed nearby high school proms. Two local high schools already had their prom last month, and the 3rd has it this month. This may have contributed to the selection being quite slim and picked over. It's not easy finding a dress. Find one you love, then can't find your size. Find one you love, but it's already damaged from hanging around the store too long and abused by customers browsing the racks. We saw many dresses with damaged beads/sequins, snagged threads, missing parts, etc. People aren't careful with the clothes. I even saw a hanger shoved through the shoulder area of a sweater dress, which pretty much created a large hole and damaged the dress. There was a dozen holding racks shoved in one corner, full of dresses that needed a ticket or needed to be put back somewhere. It was a mess to wade through, even worse than trying to browse the racks at discount stores (such as Ross and TJ Maxx). We did find a handful of possibilities to try on. 75% of them were eliminated, and we managed to walk out with 2 dresses. Were they "prommy" enough? Not sure. But my daughter liked them AND they had her size AND it actually fit ok on her. So we considered this a success. The women's restroom on the 2nd floor were in pathetic condition. one stall was out of order. Another stall's door would not lock. There was only one working sink; the other 2 weren't working (one covered in plastic to indicate it is "out of order" and the other was clogged full of water). We did manage to have a positive experience during this visit, when we were looking for a nice clutch in the handbags dept. There was only one "dressy" clutch hanging on the rack and my daughter was not feeling it. The lady who was working in the handbags dept offered to check in the back and brought out a bunch of clutches for us to look at. My daughter found one she liked out of the bunch. Success! read more

Back on 2019, my wife and I purchased a dining table. We bought the warranty because it would cover or replace damages cause by your pet. After a year or so, we noticed some of the legs from the chair were bitten and the seats were all scratched. We pretty saw this coming by owning 3 dogs. I reached out to the Macys warranty department and they will schedule a repair man to come check it out. When the repair man saw the damage, he was unable to repair them so he notified Macys. He did not guarantee what is going to happen. A day later, I received a notification from Macys. They won't be able to replace the items. Instead they will send a check. 2 months later I never received a check so I sent a reminder. I would never buy furniture at Macys ever again. Horrible warranty service! read more

My family went to Macy's one day, the clothes were good and cute enough for kids and all, but the staff was so slow and we had to walk around the entire store searching for family members, prices were so expensive, dirty restrooms and not really good service there and mixed up all of the girls clothing in one department and had to search for different sizes and they did have what I want but had not a lot of christmas pajamas for me. My family will completely not recommend this place. read more

Had a really good experience here picking up the items I ordered in the men's department. They have a lot of great suits with different quality brands. Love that I was able to quickly get these items next day around noon. They were fast and efficient. Parking is a pain and you have to walk from parking garage over to the Men's department. Or you could hop into Safeway and grab some things and park there then head over to Macys. They do have designated pick up parking spots but I think people just randomly park there. It was all filled up when I tried to find a spot. read more

I visited on Valentine's Day on a whim & had a great experience making a purchase! I'd had my eye on a beautiful Effy ring online that retailed for $1,950. According to the Macy's store inventory search online, it wasn't available at any of my local Macy's or even this one, and I hesistated making such a large purchase without seeing the item in person. I mentioned it in passing to an associate who promptly looked up the web ID. To my surprise, it was in stock! Another associate came over to help search the cases and it was found. I was able to snag it for about a third of the price, thanks to store-wide promotions. Thanks for the tenacity of helping find a beautiful gift for myself from myself! read more

1) They do not believe in turning the AC on in the store. It's at least 78-80 degrees inside. 2) They do not have many cashiers open when it's busy. (At least 8 people in line at 2 different registers.) Prepare to wait... In the heat. 3) They do not enforce face coverings & people walk around with their face masks off. 4) They do not carry junior prom dresses in larger sizes. Someone needs to do something about the curbside parking situation. Every single curbside parking spot was taken but not a single person was in their car. I had to park a ways away and then go inside to get it, to which I was told that was an ongoing problem. What is the point of curbside pickup if you can't bring it curbside??? Tow these people. I ordered some gifts from Macy's.com for Christmas. One of the items was not in the original packaging so I could not give as a gift. Another was a complete different variation of the item that I bought. When I came in to return I printed the barcode from my return and wrote down the order number. The policy is that I only need the order number. The lady at the counter helping with my return was absolutely miserable and wanted you to be too. She asked me for the email, which I didn't have and didn't need for the return. When I told her I didn't have it, she just looked at me funny. She never once apologized for the mistake they made and instead was set out to make it seem like I was the one out to scam them. One order was a third party return, which asked for an email on the screen. The prompt said if I didn't want to give one, I could skip; so I did. The lady became upset and gave me attitude, "ugh I have to start again." LOL. Like okay? Sorry I followed the directions on the screen? She explained the third party return needs the email... okay? I don't work there? But I can read, and the screen said I could skip if I wanted to? She was incredibly rude from the beginning of the interaction. I don't understand why people like to spread their misery? Misery loves company? read more

Today we were shopping for a sport's jacket, slacks and shoes in the men's department. The store is very orderly and they appear to make great efforts at it. It appears that the impact on manufacturing by the pandemic has reduced selections somewhat. I am giving this shopping experience a 5 star rating because of an associate named Pad. She not only does cashier work but more importantly walks around the men's suits and jacket area asking if she can be of assistance. She is friendly and knowledgeable. I was able to get a sports jacket and pants after spending many hours trying on many combos. Pad is a excellent representative of the Macy's brand and probably could teach customer service to others. I also have to give a shout out to William in the shoe section who kept checking on styles and sizes for me. read more

I'm such a sucker for that Macy's mailer that comes to the house and lures you into the store but at the cashier you find out that the coupon never applies so without fail I always walk out of here feeling a bit robbed and wish I had gone somewhere else. However my stupidity aside, the men's store has done a great job of adding new brands and floor space for them. They do a great job of consolidating all the clearance items in one area instead of through each sub department. Housewares always have tons of items for gift registries and personal home use. Bedding and linens is expansive with lots of choices. PS. Ignore all sale signs and use the price checker kiosks throughout the store so there are no surprises and don't bother with the coupons unless you will buy the Macy's house brand. read more

My husband and I had a terrible experience today with Pav in the men's department. We were shopping for a suit when she came up to us and asked if we needed help in a rude tone that sounded like she was annoyed that we were there for too long. She was rude the entire time she was talking to us and was very condescending. She then even followed us to the dressing room and then kept following us through the store. Meanwhile, she also kept touching my husband for no reason (touching his arm, patting him on the back). It was very weird and inappropriate. Our interaction with Pav completely soured our experience and made us want to leave asap. When we went to pay, we made sure to get away from her and pay with a more pleasant employee. read more

I went into the furniture gallery by accident located on the top floor as I was looking for the houseware department. As I took a turn off the escalator, I heard someone say something but since I didn't see anyone, I assumed it was directed at another customer. I proceeded to look around the floor then heard a sales associate say excuse me really loud then say can I help you (behind my back)? Felt like I was being chased. I didn't get a face to face greeting, just an assertive associate. I said I'm just browsing. As I circled the escalator area, I ended up walking towards the guy w darkish hair and black rim glasses. I hear him say "yeah right, she just browsing with her big bag". Was that insinuating that I was gonna steal a piece of furniture? Seriously why did I see 6 sales associates on the floor but none in houseware or linens? Never experienced such rudeness, it's no wonder they were not busy. This Macy's is by far the best one! They have a much larger selection than Oakridge malls Macys! They have a much selection on every single department and they have the men's and women's macys split on each and of the mall which is great so it always allows for more variety! The employees are decent. I dealt with a Persian guy in the baby section and he gave me a story of how he couldn't put a few things on hold. Aside from that everything is pretty good! read more

Had to use the restroom yesterday and OMFG !!! Macys Mens, Level 2 Womens Restrooms were disgusting, dirty, stomach turning - literally upsetting. All the stalls, from the floors to the toilet seating. I informed the staff about it and they said the janitor will clean it up no worries etc.. Are you serious ? WOW !! Poor customer service. So this is for the Clinique employee that was working around 445pm today, You were horrible and rude. Why were you with a customer for almost 25 mins just talking away. Didn't even bother to try to come to us to let us know that she'll be right with us. Then she had the nerve to tell me I have to wait if I needed help. Lady you are not doing nothing but yapping away. Finally, we get some help from someone else and when this other rude employee gets done with those customers after 25 minutes, another couple comes up and she starts talking to them and it was so obvious the way she was talking with them that they were actually friends so she wasn't doing her job. She could care less about her job, higher real people that actually care. She was never gonna come back to us and say hey, what can I help you with, there was nothing. Despite being here first with a valid purchase query, we were ignored for over 10 minutes while the staff chose to assist others who arrived later in the pickup line. When we ask about our wait time, the three clueless staff just exchanged blank looks, utterly incapable of giving a straightforward response. Respect the value of everyone's time please! I gave my Rado Watch for repair at Valley fair Mall Macys . The relevant Jewellery repair department has held my watch for around 2 months and not providing any return date. Came in and found staff in furniture to be helpful and prices were better than I expected. I picked up a bookshelf and desk. Excellent brands an nice displays that inspire ideas and with the bedding and towels and pillows right there at maces, I re- did a whole room in less in 1 hour of shopping and I was out the door to finish other things on my checklist for the week. I have bought a lot from this Macys. I am giving stars because Macys furniture section is fantastic. We liked a huge couch and went back to decide a zillion times, the gentleman who helped us was extremely polite, helpful and patient. We bought tons of furniture but had to cancel because of incorrect space calculation. He was very cool about it and helped us a lot. I took off stars because of clothing section. It's the most haphazard organization I have ever seen. I wanted to buy pants and it was impossible to find a section where I could. Cashier made us wait for 10 mins before he disappeared on us. May be it's because of pandemic. Another issue was to get into the parking structure. It's a pain. Now parking is paid, with first 2 free hours. Remember to pay at PayStation before getting into the parking structure once you head back. Overall a torturous experience. I will stick to Macys online, happy ordering from my couch!! read more

Sometimes, you try to do something good, and you get more trouble for it. Case it point, I decided to 'pick up' my purchases at this Macy's instead of having it shipped for free to my house. I thought it would save Macy's some money and save the environment (less packaging and delivery). first, the line is terribly long to pick up. Then, the lady wouldn't give me 2 bags for the 4 kitchen items I bought (they were in boxes). so, I saved Macy's $30 in shipping costs, but they can't give me 2 bags to put the 4 boxes in. Instead, they put tape on each box to create 'handles'.This didn't seem so bad, until 15 minutes later, I'm walking through the mall holding 4 boxes like a bag lady and the tape 'handles' start cutting into my fingers. Sigh... Back to having everything shipped to my home. read more

The customer service here is terrible and unprofessional. My husband tried to open a Macys credit card and no one knew how to do it. They made him wait 30 minutes on the side while they serviced other customers and then proceeded to call headquarters. One person said his card was approved and another said it was not approved. It was a big mess and waste of time. In the end he was not given any clarity on the issue. Macys really need to train their employees better so that everyone is on the same page. read more

I recently attended Assyrian-American Event at Macys. They opened doors 1 hour before opening and had Assyrian music and raffle drawings. I appreciate the store manager hosting this event. This weekend was friends and family where things were 30% off and cosmetics 15% off so we got some greats deals also. read more

I recently shopped at Macy's Women, and an employee named Marie rung me up. After swiping my credit card, the screen asked me if I wanted my receipt by email and/or printout. I was shocked that before I had a chance to select my choice, Marie quickly reached over and pressed "printout only" for me. I actually much preferred digital receipts for tracking purposes in case I have returns, and thought this was highly inappropriate. It's not an employee's place to choose for customers, and definitely not without asking! Her behavior seemed really suspicious and I felt borderline scammed. I suspect employees get dinged if customers make returns or something. Anyway, be aware in case you want to make returns. read more

I normally don't shop at Macy's but this is one of my mom's favorite department stores. She wanted to look for dresses for an upcoming wedding so we made our way to Macy's Dress Department. They were also having a 30% off sale that day all through the weekend. My mom and I came into Macy's Valleyfair Mall on a Friday around 11am. We were browsing the women's Dress Department looking for floor length gowns. The sales associates were all pretty nice, when they saw that we were holding a few dresses in our arms, they offered to put them into a fitting room for us. We tried them on, got assisted if we needed different sizes and we ended up finding some dresses for the wedding. My mom wanted to pay and so I just walked around the Dress Department to see if I'd miss anything. As my mom was about to make our purchase, the sales lady mentioned to her that if we were to open a Macy's store card/credit card account, we would get another 20% off our purchase, as well as the 30% sale going on in-store, "which would be a total of 50% percent off!" she said. Of course hearing that we would get a total of 50% off, my mom turned to me to open an account to get that "awesome" deal(my mom already has an account with Macy's, that's why she turned to me to open my own account). Especially since the purchases on my 2 dresses alone were already a little over $540 and my mom's dress was a little over $380 with the 30% off. It took a really long time for me to get approved, which is understandable since I had a fraudulent protection plan, but in the end I was approved. After the approval, the sales lady THEN decides to clarify that it's 30% off in-store and the extra 20% off will come off our Macy's bill..which will come in the mail later on. OKAY, fine.. My mom and I figured that we will just accept that, since it's too late at that point and shopped around all of Macy's. We spent a few hours, thinking that we would get 15%-30% off in-stores between the shoes/fragrance/beauty departments along with that extra 20% off our bill once we get it in the mail. My mom likes clarification, so every sales associate who assisted us with our purchases in each department, my mom would repeatedly make sure that we were going to get the 15-30% off in-stores, as well as 20% off the bill. ALL but ONE associate said "yes, you'll get that deal for 2 days only." That ONE sales associate rung us up on our final purchase in the beauty department and clarified that it would be 20% off the bill UP TO $100. My mom and I were so shocked and in disbelief. NO ONE, especially the 1st sales associate in the Dress Department who convinced us to open the Macy's card mentioned that it was up to $100. My dresses alone already exceeded that $100 max limit and she didn't seem to care to mention that?? That same 1st sales associate stapled the shopping pass over the brochure with the Macy's card information, so we wouldn't even see the "up to $100" in the front of the brochure unless we ripped off the shopping pass. My mom and I felt so duped and I wish I never even opened a Macy's store card because that $100 was completely not worth it. Maybe if the 1st sales associate had clarified that with us, instead of repeating the 50% off for 2 days, then maybe we would have felt differently. Opening this Macy's card affected my credit, which would be OK if we didn't feel duped all around. My mom and I decided to return over 1/2 of our purchases because we could get better fragrance/beauty sales at more honorable stores. I also made a fragrance purchase that was to be delivered to my mom's house. Since it wasn't "at the counter," I was told that I had to call customer service to cancel my purchase mail order. SO ANNOYING. It was such a WASTE OF TIME and ENERGY. -_- PLEASE train your associates to clarify the terms of the sales/opening of Macy's cards, and worry less about trying to get numbers. My mom is a LONG time customer and I felt horrible that she, as well as myself, was tricked in that way. I'm glad I was there to witness all these transactions and be able to voice our deceitful experience with Macy's! *I've sent a similar complaint to Macy's on their website, so hopefully I get some response to this experience. **This review is for the Men's Department** I just walked out very disappointment and extremely offended. I went in looking for a tie/bow tie to match a dress I'm wearing to a wedding. I had brought the dress with me in a bag so I can match it as close as I can. The color is so hard to find because it is a color between blush and peach. I literally walked around the Men's department at least 3 times and no one asked me if I needed help. Out of the hundreds of ties they had, I FINALLY found one that was the so similar shade of peach as my dress. Macy's has gotten pretty expensive even with the 30% off they had going on. $44 for a tie, yes seriously. As I stood there to contemplate on spending over $40 on a tie, I took my dress out once again to see if it matched exactly. I figured I would just put it on hold and walk around the mall to see if I could find something cheaper. As I was holding the tie next to my dress, an employee (who claimed to be a stylist there) came up to me and said "What are you doing?!" as if I was attempting to steal the tie! I have never been so offended in my life! After I asked if it could be put on hold, he said okay and just put it at the register. One thing I know about Macy's is that when you put something on hold. They actually take your information down and print out a "hold tag", but this employee didn't. He just put it at the register. He said he could help me find other ties with the same color, but I told him there were none. How would I know? Because I walked around a bunch of times looking without anyone helping me. In the end he said I was right; the tie that I chose was the closest color to my dress. I'm so offended, it's upsetting. As much as I wanted to buy the tie since the color was so close, I will not be going back because of the way I was treated. read more

Tis the season for prom dress shopping for this mom! I've had my daughter looking online for colors, style of dresses, etc and she decided on Heboes.com because she has friends whom had really great experiences with that site. But before we took the plunge and ordered a dress I wanted to make sure she liked the color against her complexion and to see if the style suited her figure. You also want to ensure a style of dress is something you can manage for an entire night while managing to keep your heels on as long as you can. So we chose several dresses and went to one of their fitting rooms. Not only are these fitting rooms cramped but there was absolutely NO air circulating in there! This is a tedious task trying on all these dresses and when you have that many rooms all filled with people that body heat in that cramped space is frustrating. Westfield is making all these changes and additions how bout you provide ample air and spacious dressing rooms for seasons such as prom! They had a decent selection of prom dresses but how can you commit or have enough time to find THE dress when after dress 2 or 3 you are over it because it's so hot and stale in there?!?!?!?!? read more

Their backstage store is a mess. Clothing and other merchandise on the floor. The fitting rooms are still closed while other stores reopened them a long time ago. It's awful to be making another trip back to the store bringing back merchandise. They didn't have much of a selection in shirts and shoes. But hopefully my review will change in the future. read more

Walked in to Macy's as I had to exchange a Christmas present wifey gave me. The employees "all 6"!i spoke with were super nice. Wifey stayed patient as I spent a half hour trying on Levi's and a shirt. Macy's has a vast selection of Levi's pants and better yet at a great price. The ones I got were more than 50% off the reg price of $80 (they were actually less than at the Levi store in the same mall, also at 50% off) now that's what I call a great shopping experience. Macy's Men here has poor customer service. We went in for two suits-- spent at least half a grand only to have no one call us back to pick up alterations also done there. The Persian lady named Pav , if that's really her name, gives attitude and rolled her eyes at my poor 78 year old father who was trying on suits. The woman should really learn some manners in customer service! Not only that, when we went to go pick up the suits after alterations were finished (no phone call by the way to let us know to come pick up) , she said they ran out of the black Macy men suit bags! Like really though? You guys are a men's suit department... it's like Mcdonalds running out of burgers and fries! So she put TWO suits in ONE white plastic trash bag , knowing full well the suits were going to TWO different people. Poor customer service from this Persian lady in the men's department. I came to Macy's today with the sole intent to buy the present I had always wanted to gift my Mom for her birthday, a bottle of Chanel No. 5 . I proceeded to the Chanel counter and the pretty Asian girl who was there served me immediately and told me I could pay at the counter but as soon as she saw I had cash in hand she went and served me. WOW, talk about the power of cold hard cash! Some things are worth the money and I am a big fan of Chanel products for Men so I know my Mom will love her gift and Macy's is a nice place to buy them and I always enjoy shopping here. read more
