Went in today for a gift for my mom and brother. Went to the men's cologne department. The young lady that assisted me was very helpful and as I was about to pay recommended to sign up for their rewards points program. I paid and she wrapped my gift. Went down to the women's perfume area and OMG!!! The young lady that assisted me was really nice. She provided various options. Once I was getting ready to pay the cashier was so rude. She asked if I wanted to apply for the Macys card. I said no, I will be paying cash. She rolled her eyes. I told her I wanted to input my number in order to get my points added to my rewards card. She made another face and said those will be automatically added. I let it go and paid. I asked her to please wrap the gift. She said you need to go over there and pointed towards the far corner. I went to where she pointed and let me tell you. I was there like and idiot waiting to get assistance. Other associates would bring their customers purchases and start wrapping. I asked an associated for assistance and ignored me. I placed my bag on the counter and after about 5 min was helped. First they said we need to get the wrapping paper. Next they said we don't have wrapping paper for that box. I said well why would they send me here if you don't have it. Conveniently another much nicer associate found wrapping paper under the counter where I placed my bag. She apologized multiple times and said I will make sure its extra beautiful and gave me a rose. I dislike Macy's and it used to be my favorite store for evehting. They have a really sickly return policy. Even with this Macy's sticker in the item they don't take I back without a receipt or even give your store credit. I know a lot do places require receipts to return stuff but here are small mom and pop shops .Macys is a big corporation. They should make the return policy easy. It's died to be that way. I'm only giving 2 stars right now because I fell in love with the product although if I receive said product in poor condition I will update. This is solely on the customer service, my fiancée and I ordered a ring and I'm not sure if he did or did not place an email on file, however I called to see if they could track it, the first time I called the man told me to call customer service, as I contacted them they then told me the store I purchased it from could look it up through the reservation number, my fiancée had the receipt at work and I called him and he gave it to me. So then I call the Macy's BACK and received the same guy who was just so unprofessional and had an ATTITUDE! I visited the men's clothing and suit area on Saturday morning around 10am. It seemed like the personnel was in slow motion. They were not friendly nor informed about the applicable promotions and coupon restrictions. I tried on and attempted to buy two suits. The salesman said the coupon would definitely apply to one of them. But at the checkout, the computer did not allow for discount. I left empty handed after wasting an hour. I am beyond words at how amazing the associates at the handbag section are. I wanted a Michael Kors bag that was sold out everywhere. Every Michael Kors, Macys, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Dillards, and online stores I've looked have completely sold out. I decided to take a chance since it was still on Macy's website but listed as not available. I sent my bf to ask about it since I had work and of course it was sold out. However they offered to check other stores within the U.S. After an hour my bf had to leave for work but they continued to look for one. Finally they were able to find a store in Downtown L.A. that still have this bag AND it wasn't a floor sample. Yeah I know, I am super particular hhehe my bad. They put it on hold for me and waited until I was out of work. After work I went to Macys and again we were put on hold by the other store. The poor girl was on the phone for 1.5 hour, I felt so bad. After standing there with the associates for over an hour we were able to make the purchase over the phone and they can ship it to my house. I got the online sale price and was given 20% off plus free shipping! Everyone at Montebello Macys went above and beyond all my expectations. All I can say is THANK YOU! read more

My Mother had an identify theft for her reward card and we constantly tried calling for two hours , even went to this mall to seek front (face to face) service . When we tried calling , we were put on hold for 20+ mins and when we asked for a translator (my mom speaks canto) , we were put on hold again for 30+ mins and they hung up on us. MORE THAN 3 TIMES. Seriously, do NOT sign up for one. I can not stress enough how bad the service sucks and still, they could not help us. We are so frustrated . Shoe department customer service is the worse. Wanted to buy a pair of flat shoes found a cute pair but they were dirty. Sales rep offered to take 10% off. Decided against purchasing dirty shoes. Sales rep ordered a new pair for me which was very nice. When I received the shoes they were soiled. Took them back to Macy's Montebello. No apologizes from the sales rep the female rep whispered to the male rep to double check my receipt to ensure it was the correct receipt after he had already scanned the item. The sales reps at Macy's Santa Anita are very nice and go above and beyond. Macy's Montebello is terrible. read more

I was transitioning from Loreal Paris Cosmetics over to MAC Cosmetics, and the associate Ricky was extremely flamboyant and rude. When ever I had a question regarding their products and tools, he kept talking over me and loud at that. I asked him if they had an oil-free foundation that had a matte finish once it dries and he smacked his lips and said "Yeah we do, but I think you should go with this one that I picked out"... I'm like okay but I know what it is I'm looking for and I rather stick to what I desire and so forth. He got agitated and slammed the foundation onto the counter when he was preparing to apply the sample shades to my face. I asked him was there a problem and he says, "Well yeah If I'm recommending a product you should just take it because I'm skilled in cosmetics and I know what is or isn't a fit for a person". So I was disgusted and shocked by his attitude and smart remarks and I asked was there a manager on duty, he replied he was indeed them manager. When I told him the foundation he applied was not my color and I wasn't happy with it, he quickly said "Okay" and walked away from me like I was a bad deal. Because of Ricky, I was NOT able to purchase any MAC products and I had so many unanswered questions. When I went to fellow MAC associates they all claimed to be busy and the one Latina female (short & stubby) claims she was on lunch was eating a sandwich at the register, which was very odd and unprofessional. Like who the hell does that!??? Especially in Macy's!??? I've shopped here for many years and this by far was the worst and awful experience I had to encounter!! I'm extremely angry and If anyone decides to shop there, avoid him by any means. His attitude is over powering and he's very very rude!!! Next time I'll shop at Nordstroms instead. read more

Customer service is slow and uncourteous, reflecting poor management. I recently visited this Macy's to return a pair of jeans. There were two cashiers behind the counter. One cashier was helping another customer in front of me, working at a snail pace. The second cashier was folding some clothes on the counter. After 10 minutes of waiting, I asked the second cashier if she could help me, but she said no. Apparently folding clothes was more important, she saw me waiting there the whole time yet wouldn't give a damn. I've wasted enough time at this store, will not return again. read more

**CONCERNING MACY'S FURNITURE DEPT.** On august 18 I went in to macy"s too buy living room furniture ,I pick out a set, I was so excited I was told I would get my big sofa at the end of Aug. which I did & was told I would get the other one at the end of Sept. I was ok with that and mention to the sale person that I was having company for the hoildays. At the begining of Sept. i was called by the distribution center telling me that my sofa was getting to them at the end of Nov. & I would'nt be recieveing it tell the end of Dec. I was devestated, I call my sales person & got a $60 gift card, then he call me a week later & all happy told me he got me 72.00 off my macy"s account REALLY all I want is my furniture!!! He also told me if someone canceled there order I would get it sooner, if thery know they are this backed up why not be honest, Im haveing a house full of people and not a complete livingroom set Im so upset that Im sick to my stomach, bottom line dont buy furniture from macy"s you will be lied to & they could careless !!! Had an awful experience at the Macy's Home Department. Had a relatively simple task, which was to buy a friend a wedding gift from the registry. I can't find the registry station to print up a list, and there are no employees anywhere. When I finally do find them, it is a group of ladies chatting with their backs turned to me. After printing up the list, I can't find the items I am looking for. Again I can't find any employees to help me out. Mind you, I am one of a handful of customers in the store at this point. I approach the same chatting group of ladies in another corner of the store. One points me in the direction of the brand I was looking for. I'm looking for a particular kind of plate, and the only ones in the store were the ones that were part of the display, which were dusty. When I go to purchase them, I am told that not only does Macy's no longer provide gift-wrapping service, they do not provide gift boxes either. The employee proceeds to wrap my plates in bubble wrap and then put them in a plastic bag. Fine china in a plastic bag, really?? Turns out that the Macy's Home section is out of paper bags. Macy's is also out of employees who can demonstrate customer service and common sense. I understand if this particular Macy's has a limited supply of my item; I understand if they no longer provide gift wrapping. But I do expect attentive service, or at the very least, help when I ask for it. I should have driven out of my way to go the Pasadena Macy's. read more

This is the worst Macy's I've been to regarding customer service. I bought a shirt during Black Friday and gifted it to my sister for Christmas. It was too big and I asked them if I could do an even exchange, and they said "sorry it's been over 30 days" and I told them what about the holiday policy. Seriously people buy things on Black Friday for Christmas gifting and there's no way I can exchange THE SAME ITEM JUST A DIFFERENT SIZE?? I had a fight with the manager and I made them check the shirt online and it was the exact same price at the time...so the manager said they would do it but I had to pay $10 for shipping.... that was insane, never in my life had I had to pay Macy's a shipping fee when ordering in store. My shirt was $20, I was not going to pay an extra $10. I left and went to another Macy's and they did an even exchange and shipped it for free with no problem. I hate this Macy's. I've had other issues with their customer service but this was the worst. I just wanted to exchange the size and they made a huge deal about how it was bought on "November" and the shipping fee. Trust me don't go here. Go to another Macy's. Other than that I love Macy's, just not this one. read more

I had bought a lipliner from Urban Decay at the Impulse inside the store and when I got home and opened the package there was no product inside. Normally when I buy a makeup product the sales person ALWAYS checks to see if the product is in good condition so I ASSUMED she did that and I thought the product was okay. I should've suspected something because she left to get the product on her own since there weren't any left on the display. I know this is partially my fault because I didn't check the product before I left the store. It's very frustrating to know that I spent $20 for nothing. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I bought makeup from Este Lauder, the original woman that sold me the makeup told me that I was to come on Monday to pick up my makeup, as it was a promotion. I did so, I had a busy week and end up coming in on a Friday. I stood around for about 15 mins before anyone helped me. Then, when the lady finally noticed me she asked one of the Other 20 people working their to help me. She comes up to me and I explain the situation, she says I have to come back on Sunday to pick it up. I explained that is not what I was told, and she just looked at me like I was annoying her and pretty much walked away. These woman were rude and I know I am young and may dress "alternative" in their eyes, but I could not help but feel like they were judging me. I do have to say, most of the other makeup companies are very nice. The girls at urban decay are amazing. I could not remember why I stopped using este Lauder, and now I remember. Please avoid spending your money at this particular este Lauder. I work in customer service and have had every role from a ccr, qa coach, and team lead, I know how customers, no humans should be treated. read more

Horrible customer service in the watch department. Had a watch reserved after purchase. Took them 20 minutes to get someone to help me. Took another 20 minutes to find the watch and after everything is all saod and done they dont have the decency to set the time and date for a watch I just paid good money for. If i could give this store no stars i would.i used to shop at Macy's all the time to buy dresses and makeup but now i will not. On a recent trip to the store, i went with my mother and siblings because my mother wanted to buy a dress. While she was browsing i sat in the new waiting area that they have in the dress department and took care of my brothers. Well all of a sudden i feel someone staring at me and i look to my right and it was a lady talking into a walkytaky. She would come and go but she would always be around where i was. In one of those instances she came back around and began to describe what i was wearing, color jeans, color shirt and my hair length. She was not discrete about it or anything and when this happened my brother and i just looked at each other confused. I got very uncomfortable so i got up and went with my mother to see if i could help her pick out a dress. And the lady WAS STILL FOLLOWING ME!!! In the moment that i got up and was helping my mom, my moms purse got stolen from our stroller! And we didn't even notice ! I was so mad that i went to go tell the undercover security officer that my moms purse for stolen and if she had seen the bag.she had the audacity to proceeded and ask me where i was sitting!!!! Even though she had been watching me for the last 30 min!!!! Anyways i told her where i was sitting and her response was "OH that was you?". Hold on.... WHAT!!!!! I was furious! At the moment i didn't even care that she was watching me i just wanted to find my moms bag and the person who took it. But if she wasn't busy watching an innocent shopper i feel like my moms bag wouldn't of gotten stolen! Worst shopping experience at Macy's in Montebello! Never going there again! That whole dilema was insane they need to properly train there "undercover security" to be more undercover. Update on the bag: it was returned to my house by the people who stole it (weird i know) that same day after calling them multiple times and leaving voicemails on my moms phone, because my moms phone, car keys and wallet were in the bag! We were so scared they were going to break into our house. Bank receipts were missing from the bag but everything was cancelled right away. Anyways don't go to this Macy's it's horrible. read more
