I was here on a Sunday. The entire first floor, every department of women's clothes had nobody to ring me up. I finally found someone way across the store and she then rang up someone else first. I asked if a manager was available. "Um maybe upstairs." No wonder they have to constantly close stores. No one can actually buy anything. They are paying people to do nothing. Wow so I came to pick up shoes and everyone here has a nasty attitude. One of the girls at the online pickup dept when I called lied to me and said they would hold my shoes for me and then when I got there they said they returned it. The girl at the front when u came to pick up my shoes had a nasty attitude and they tried to call security on me when all I wanted was to get what I paid for. Went in today to buy a specific band of perfume. Walked inside straight to the Gucci counter. Sampled and sniffed a few and some other brands surrounding the one I intended on getting. I probably spent 10 minutes or so, with no one around. I waited and waited, and still no one! Finally, I looked around the other counters for some help. Finally, from the time I stepped in to the time I was ready, It was almost 20 minutes. The woman who helped me, was nice but didn't know too much on the perfumes. Still, I bought one. She just handed over the perfume but I asked for a bag. So she put it in a bag and that's all I got. I've been buying perfumes from Macy's for over 20 years. This is the first time I didn't receive anything extra. Most often there's a free gift with purchase. If no gift or promotion is available, then the sales associate will give a few free samples of other scents. Such a real bummer. I kind of thought Macy's in Manhattan Beach would have been different. I should've just stuck to the Macy's in Torrance. They're always a pleasure. I never need to ask for my purchases to be put in a bag, and without asking, I always get a sample. I don't care if I only get one little sample. A sample is a sample, and it's always nice to get a little something extra. Very disappointed! read more

This based on two consecutive days' visit. One star for selection, one for the one attendant that was going around trying to help different departments. First day, understaffed, no acknowledgement. Second day, nobody at the register, go to another, am turned away as it has been determined that it would be a while however am directed back to the original desk where the manager is now helping someone. Again, zero acknowledgment. Zero. A manager in Manhattan Beach. The helpful employee who seems to be a floater helping out where she can finally helps me, answers my question and then goes to help out in another department. "Manager" walks away never apologized for the wait. Lesson learned. Don't shop here unless you have all the time in the world and aren't bothered by atrocious customer service. read more

The best thing about going to this mall is the amount of plastic surgery watching available. Now you do get better watching if you are in the mall itself as opposed to the eateries or this Macy's. There is silicon and botox galore! I always park at one end and walk all the way through to where the Macy's Men's store is just to see the freak parade. Do it and you'll know what I'm talking about. Once you get to the Macy's Men's Store (MMS) you'll be ready to shop. I like MMS and I always have. I don't like shopping with women mostly because they get in my way and think they have the right of way just because they have boobs. So when I'm at MMS I am in heaven. There are tons of clothes to choose from and regardless of your budget you'll find something nice to wear. I've never been upstairs to see the furniture so for all I know they could have anything up there. Like a monkey, or a little child that looks like one. Or one of those wolf boys that have hair all over their face! Those kids are freaky. Sure it's genetic but come on! This Macy's is the anchor store for the Manhattan Village mall. This location was formerly separate May Co. and a Robinson's department stores. The former May Co. is located on the north end of the mall and is now the women's department and the former Robinson's, located on the south end of the mall is now the home furnishings and men's department. My favorite Macy's to shop at in the South Bay! Great selection of women's clothing on the first floor as well as dresses on the second floor. Located in Manhattan Village shopping mall so has a more upscale feel and styles tailored to working women. Came here once to look for a swimsuit and they have a really cool and modern way of shopping for swimsuits that's hassle free. They basically have manikins with swimsuits on them and a salesperson with an iPad will help you "order" swimsuits to try. They then bring the swimsuits you selected to your dressing room and there's a cubby hole where you put unwanted swimsuits which they will quickly take away. You can even order more swimsuits to try from a touchscreen in your dressing room and the salesperson will put it in your cubby hole so you can try it. Definitely made shopping a lot more fun and took customer service up a notch! read more

The Manager in the Women Shoe is absolutely horrible and lacks professionally. I did not catch his name but his ID number is 10941085 He basically called me a liar. I purchased six pairs of shoes all around the same sale price. One of the pairs they did not give me the 50% off. They gave me 25% off. I went in the next day to have them adjust the amount. He refused telling me the shoe was never 50% off. He never asked the sales associate who helped me to confirm the price. I got my money back at the end of the day. I lodged a complaint against at the corporate office. read more

The Ralph Lauren section for mens is outstanding they have a great selection and lots of clearance items that I can't find at most other Macy's locations. The other good thing is that they always have my size in stock and they have a phenomenal mens shoe department. Everytime I just head in to browse outside of sale days I come away with a great find at a super price. Enjoy shopping here more than ever because of their surprise pricing at the register Make sure you use the coupons, ask for a discount, and that Macy's card will also snag you another reduction. The helpfulness of cashiers to the floor managers rival none. I have shopped at higher end stores and I feel very welcome here even though I dress in workout attire. It's been 20 years since I was pregnant, so I needed to help and suggestions! We came here on Saturday evening, 2/23/13. She needed to be sized and the bra department was extremely busy. We decided to head on over to the maternity section and see who and what we can find. We were greeted by received EXCELLENT service from the girl working the register (I cant remember her name, all I know is that shes going to nursing school). She sized my daughter, gave her advice on what would work during and after baby. They were having a buy 1, get 1 50% off sale so we spent $37.00 for 2 quality bras!! SCORE!! I tried speaking to different departments and they keep on transferring me around until they simply started hanging up on me. All I need is to exchange a shoe. Alright so this is a small Macy's Home departments but it's stocked well enough with essentials I suppose. The problem we had today though was that we brought back the coveted "Macy's Money" to use toward the purchase of a spice rack. The spice rack we wanted was in stock, and the department was very well kept and well organized. Customer service, though, fell not short, but FLAT. I'm talking level to the ground. Here's how it went: The woman at the register failed to acknowledge me directly although I was the customer at the counter. She says "next customer in line" even though I was literally at the counter at the front of the line with people lined up behind me. I asked to be directed to the spice racks and she points and asks if I see them as though I should have known where they were. Next, we find the spice rack we want and bring it to the register. A younger fellow was behind her ringing sales as well. We approach the counter and I asked the dude before he could even scan the item if we could redeem Macy's Money for this purchase, being that today is the first day we can redeem it according to the info printed on the Macy's Money cards. He tells us that the item would have to be purchased using a Macy's credit card. My mom was fine with that, and the transaction was completed. My mom asked for a large bag for the item and they phoned an associate to bring some to the department. While we waited, the associate tried to make small talk and when he mentioned that the store had been crowded the previous day, I mentioned that I would think the Macy's Money redemption start date would be the craziest and he began to explain how the Macy's Money worked citing that we "could have" used Macy's Money toward her transaction. I told him that she HAD the Macy's Money; I'd mentioned it before he rang the sale. He offers to return the item and re-ring the sale with the Macy's Money discount applied. My mother's patience was GONE at this point so she declined his offer just before the summoned associate arrived with "larger" bags that were still too small, which wasn't that big of a deal because they taped a strap to the top of the box for carrying ease. Stop here if you need a salt shaker or a bottle opener or even a Keurig or a quick set of knives or pots. If you will need help finding ANYTHING, this is not the location for you. This is not my first visit and they usually have low inventory being that it's such a small space. Customer service here is usually great, but not at ALL today. I was looking for a custom fit Ralph Lauren polo shirt, so I went to the Manhattan Beach store. It was a total waste of time, all there shirts were slim fit. I hate to tell you, but not everyone in the Beach Cities wear a slim fit. (You would know that if you ever went to the beach) Save yourself time and money and order your RL polo shirt on Amazon. So after my disappointing experience in store, I ordered the shirt on line from Macy's. When it arrived, it was not what I wanted. So, i drove to the Manhattan Beach store again to return it. To my dismay, I did receive a fund, except for the cost of the shipping, now I have made two trips to Macy's, paid $10.95 for shipping and still have no black polo shirt. The point of this post is; do not order anything online from Macy's if there is any chance you may need to return it. read more

On Black Friday, they had three piece Ralph Lauren suits for $200.00, which is a pretty good deal. I got there too late and everything in my size was already sold out. There was a seasonal customer service noob who really tried to help me get the three piece suit in my size at a different Macy's store. She gave me incorrect information, but what do you expect from a noob? I appreciate the effort. read more

This Macys is smaller than other Macys in the area (Del Amo Mall and the two at Galleria) however it's nice since you can easily go in and browse and not be overwhelmed or spend hours in there. The Women's Clothing, Shoes, Jewelery and Cosmetics is at one end of the mall, the Men's and Home Goods are at the other. Given the size of the store, there is a large cosmetics area. Also has a formal dress section. The Home Goods section is small but you can find good deals in the sales bins. I would recommend going to a different Macy's location if you are looking to register for your wedding since the selections will be much better. read more
