We bought 2 trees from Moon Valley Nurseries 5 months ago and decided to buy the protection+ plan for one of the trees. There had been some challenges with the protection+ team either not showing up for the appt. or constantly rescheduling the appt. Jason, who has always been so helpful to us, aided us once again by coordinating their appointments to fit our schedule. He stayed on top on things. Jason has always been so wonderful to interact with and is amazing!!! Thank-you!!! read more

Absolutely amazing service! From the moment you arrive, you're surrounded by a beautiful, lush property filled with citrus trees, cacti, gorgeous palms, and practically anything else you can imagine. The personal tour of the nursery made the experience feel even more special and added to our five-star visit. We purchased a wonderful Meyer lemon tree in excellent condition--it already smells amazing! Jae even included some extra plant vitamins to help us care for it. When you visit, be sure to ask for Jae. He'll take excellent care of you and give you the full VIP experience! We couldn't be happier with our purchase and will definitely be back. Make sure to ask for Jae or Alex! read more

I decided to visit after seeing some pretty yellow plants outside as I drove by, something my daughter is currently looking for. Both employees ignored me, and I couldn't see the plants I wanted so I left. However the plants I saw were in good condition, and there was a good variety to choose from. If they were friendlier they may have made a sale. read more

Moon Valley Nurseries in Torrance offered us a free visit by an arborist to take a look at the trees we had purchased about a year or two ago. I said yes hoping to get some insights but didn't expect much more than an up-sell. Christopher Bysshe, the arborist, came out to the house and was a veritable fount of knowledge and advice. He commented on the recently purchased trees and how to better care for them, but had a lot of advice and suggestions on everything else we have growing. Very nice pro guy. I cannot recommend him and this free service highly enough. read more

I had a great experience thanks to Nate (Nathan)! I came in looking for plants that could help with pest issues, and while two other employees told me they didn't have anything unless it was a tree or suggested I "ask ChatGPT," which felt a little dismissive, Nathan took the time to listen and help. He was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and patient while helping us find the right plants for our needs. He answered our questions, offered helpful recommendations, and even helped load everything into our car. His customer service really stood out and turned what could have been a frustrating experience into a positive one. Thank you, Nathan, for going above and beyond! read more

Had a great experience at Moon Valley! Was looking for bower vines for my trellis and found the a couple yellow ones that are in great in condition. Jason was super helpful with picking them out for me and loading them in the trailer. Thank you!! read more

This place is absolutely huge. As far as I can tell they do have the biggest selection of larger and more mature trees. I am concerned about the pricing a bit I think maybe wait for a flyer as it seems like they may have better deals there than in person as the trees we bought were quite pricey. We do love our trees so far though. They setup our appointment and delivered and installed very quickly, maybe an hour or two for two 48" box trees to be installed on the appointment day. The only couple of complaints I have are that the day of the appointment for install they parked the truck with the trees next to one of the trees growing by the sidewalk and when they unloaded the tree a few branches did break, thankfully it was minimal damage but it could have been avoided. Also we tried a couple times to setup buying flowers in bulk for our garden and they said they would call us back when they had them and simply never called back. So if you want a mature tree they've got you covered but the smaller stuff that probably nets less profit may be a no go here. read more

Last week i stopped by my neighborhood Moon Valley Nursery, North Torrance, in search of an easy to maintain plant to put in my backyard for simple aesthetics. What an amazingly easy experience. Johnny Manriquez was, hands down, the most helpful individual I've encountered in ANY retail location in a very long time. Customer service is so hard to get these days. Well, Johnny set me up with two Red Yuccas and three bags of potting soil. They're perfect for what i needed. COME SEE JOHNNY MANRIQUEZ AT MOON VALLEY NURSERIES IN NORTH TORRANCE. You won't be disappointed. read more

Just finished a big project by Moon Valley. Here's my experience from start to finish. Keep in mind tl;dr version will be at the bottom: My wife and I were looking to do some privacy hedging in the backyard. I called around and wasn't wowed by the service of a couple landscapers right off the bat. I stumbled upon Moon Valley Nursery and figured I'd give them a shot. My first call in, I got in touch with Jason - he provided excellent service from the beginning. He was able to meet with me pretty quickly for a quote. Phase 2 - he came on the day of the quote and provided some different plants/ ideas that would get the job done. After discussing which route I'd like to take, he said he'd crunch some numbers and get back to me. I received the quote later that evening and with a few more back and forth questions - decided to proceed. Once our date was locked he promised to call me the Friday before that date. Friday came and guess what... he called as promised. In fact, everything he stated he would do, he did. I'm currently working with another contractor on an entirely separate project and I'm going crazy. Broken promises, delayed timelines, crew breaking things, etc. Phase 3 - actual plant day comes and the team is right on time. I meet Alex who is in charge of the actual job that day and he is phenomenal. White glove service from start to finish. His guys finish everything quicker than anticipated and he takes the time to walk me through the watering / self care process. All in all, I would definitely recommend reaching out to them. I got 64 trees and for the price/ service, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. I had such a positive experience and would recommend anyone else interested to do the same. TLDR version: Excellent service, the trees look great, 10/10 experience Thanks to Jason, Alex and the rest of the team! read more

Came in because we wanted to buy some plants for our garden. They have a huge selection! When we got there, we were greeted right away, Kyle helped us out. He drove us all the way to the end of the nursery to find what I was looking for. A kumquat tree. He is VERY knowledgeable about everything that has to do with the nursery. Polite. Friendly. Outgoing. Great customer service!!!! He did an amazing job in helping us choose our plants!! Will definitely come back again soon, this time for a loquat tree! As for the price, I haven't really looked around to see prices elsewhere. I liked the service and I liked what they have here so I will most likely keep coming here. read more

I drove in and found the Small office I didn't see any other customers or workers around, -so I patiently waited for five or eight minutes -I walked around, looking for an employee for a few minutes -I called the business phone number and heard heard it ring -then an employee driving a small car with a customer drove within 5 feet of me and didn't even acknowledge me -I waited a couple more minutes and he didn't even turn to look at me -so I left Hopefully if you drive in, you'll get a little more attention read more

Yelp sent me to Moon Valley Nurseries and I am so happy I read the reviews and took the drive in a large truck. They have everything you want in trees, big and small, as well as a great selection of flowers and things you will need to plant anything. The service is so great. They are nice and patient. Their prices are fair and everything they sell is in great shape and they give the best advise. read more

I wanted a big tree for my back yard. I went to Moon Valley. They are so smart. They know everything. They are honest and kind and above all patient. The tree I had in mind would not work because of sun issues they told me but they did not give up on me. They worked with me to find something that would be happy in my yard. I found it and it is in my yard now and doing great. They are just so easy to work with. Their prices are very fair and they don't tell you one thing and then say they forgot and it will be more with some lame excuse. These guys are in Torrance. They are just wonderful. You will love them. I do. read more
