Patrick the Tree Guy from Moon Valley Nurseries came out today to look at the fruit trees I purchased a few years ago, and the experience was excellent. He took the time to walk through each tree and gave clear, practical advice on how to improve fruit production going forward. What really stood out was that he was not pushy at all. There was no pressure to buy anything. He simply focused on what would actually help my trees perform better. He did suggest a few products that could help, but the recommendations felt honest and helpful, not sales driven. It is rare to get this level of service years after a purchase, and I really appreciated the follow through. This place is absolutely huge. As far as I can tell they do have the biggest selection of larger and more mature trees. I am concerned about the pricing a bit I think maybe wait for a flyer as it seems like they may have better deals there than in person as the trees we bought were quite pricey. We do love our trees so far though. They setup our appointment and delivered and installed very quickly, maybe an hour or two for two 48" box trees to be installed on the appointment day. The only couple of complaints I have are that the day of the appointment for install they parked the truck with the trees next to one of the trees growing by the sidewalk and when they unloaded the tree a few branches did break, thankfully it was minimal damage but it could have been avoided. Also we tried a couple times to setup buying flowers in bulk for our garden and they said they would call us back when they had them and simply never called back. So if you want a mature tree they've got you covered but the smaller stuff that probably nets less profit may be a no go here. read more

Just finished a big project by Moon Valley. Here's my experience from start to finish. Keep in mind tl;dr version will be at the bottom: My wife and I were looking to do some privacy hedging in the backyard. I called around and wasn't wowed by the service of a couple landscapers right off the bat. I stumbled upon Moon Valley Nursery and figured I'd give them a shot. My first call in, I got in touch with Jason - he provided excellent service from the beginning. He was able to meet with me pretty quickly for a quote. Phase 2 - he came on the day of the quote and provided some different plants/ ideas that would get the job done. After discussing which route I'd like to take, he said he'd crunch some numbers and get back to me. I received the quote later that evening and with a few more back and forth questions - decided to proceed. Once our date was locked he promised to call me the Friday before that date. Friday came and guess what... he called as promised. In fact, everything he stated he would do, he did. I'm currently working with another contractor on an entirely separate project and I'm going crazy. Broken promises, delayed timelines, crew breaking things, etc. Phase 3 - actual plant day comes and the team is right on time. I meet Alex who is in charge of the actual job that day and he is phenomenal. White glove service from start to finish. His guys finish everything quicker than anticipated and he takes the time to walk me through the watering / self care process. All in all, I would definitely recommend reaching out to them. I got 64 trees and for the price/ service, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. I had such a positive experience and would recommend anyone else interested to do the same. Came in because we wanted to buy some plants for our garden. They have a huge selection! When we got there, we were greeted right away, Kyle helped us out. He drove us all the way to the end of the nursery to find what I was looking for. A kumquat tree. He is VERY knowledgeable about everything that has to do with the nursery. Polite. Friendly. Outgoing. Great customer service!!!! He did an amazing job in helping us choose our plants!! Will definitely come back again soon, this time for a loquat tree! I wanted a big tree for my back yard. I went to Moon Valley. They are so smart. They know everything. They are honest and kind and above all patient. The tree I had in mind would not work because of sun issues they told me but they did not give up on me. They worked with me to find something that would be happy in my yard. I found it and it is in my yard now and doing great. They are just so easy to work with. I had a wonderful experience at Moon Valley Nurseries. I went in to look as some fruit trees for my yard, and Jason was very welcoming as soon as I walked into the nursery. He was very knowledgeable and helpful in picking my trees. We selected the trees that he felt were best at the time. As I was purchasing 4 trees, he was able to give me a remarkable deal for the trees and the protection/warranty. I had a mishap with one of my trees where a street tree branch fell and broke it in half. Since it was under warranty, they were quick to come out and review the problem and replace the tree without any hassle. Amazing customer service and high quality products! I purchased an Eastern Redbud tree from them. Jae was my salesperson. He was so accommodating and patient with me as I was indecisive. He was not pushy and was neutral offering lots of information on the various trees I was considering. He even offered to drive me around in a good cart because I was wearing sandals. The check out was easy and even the delivery guys were super nice. They originally scheduled my planting 2 weeks out but that had an earlier time become available so the gal in the office called and rescheduled it. Everyone was very professional and customer service oriented. These days it is hard to find good customer service. Moon Nurseries still cares about its customers. The tree is beautiful. Buyer beware. Moon Valley sold me the wrong tree and won't make it right. I purchased a fruit combo tree (peach, plumb and nectarine) from here Aug 2022. For the next two years I only got a few Peaches. This year I found out that the whole tree is a peach tree (Not what I paid for) after the whole thing is covered in peaches. Now mind you I know they have no control over how much fruit it gives. But they should sell me a tree I paid for that is three different fruits. I reached out to Moon Valley informing them I paid for a fruit combo that is completely a peach tree. I even sent a video of all main branches showing it bearing nothing but peaches (it even still has the Moon Valley Nursery tag on it). The manager, though his kind employee (Kyle) said there was nothing they can do as it's been 3 years. Deceptive sales practices here as I was not given what I purchased and they won't make it right. read more

High pricing, rude customer service. I asked about the pricing and dude starts talking smack to his coworker. It showed $80 on the sign and rung up as $40 so I asked him if it should be $40 and he started giving a bunch of sass. Looked up similar prices online and it showed $50 for a bigger plant. Ended up buying to not deal with the hassle and he tried to skimp me the free gallon of moon juice. They also wouldn't offer to help me select a good plant. I wouldn't go here again. I've had positive experiences with Moon Valley Nurseries in the past, but unfortunately, my most recent visit completely changed my opinion. While exploring plant options for a future landscaping project, I was assisted by a representative named Jay. Initially, I was eager to learn about different plants and landscaping ideas, but the moment Jay realized I wasn't making an immediate purchase, his entire demeanor shifted. Instead of continuing to provide guidance or at least maintaining basic professionalism, he abruptly stopped engaging with me. The lack of courtesy and emotional intelligence was astounding. What Jay failed to realize is that I was planning to make significant purchases for multiple projects at a later date. Not only did he lose those future sales, but he also cost Moon Valley Nurseries additional business from colleagues and friends who are doing landscaping projects and I was going to refer. I was willing to pay Moon Valley's higher premium prices because of their service and expertise, but after this experience, the higher cost simply isn't worth it. It's unfortunate that one representative's dismissive and short-sighted attitude has tainted what was once a go-to place for landscaping needs. A single bad experience may not always define a business, but in this case, one bad egg truly spoiled the whole lot. Would I return? Not after this. Alex and the planting crew amazeballs, replaced soil, mulched in, watered and fed everything planted. 4 trees all 24" box, Palo Verde, 3 trunk King Palm, Meyer Lemon and giant clumping bamboo. They planted our front hillside terrace with salvia, white trailing lantana, mounting white morning glory. Also French lavender and for the shady side a red camellia.
