False advertisement of "Lifetime Guarantee"!

Went to replace a plant that has a "lifetime guarantee" to find out they will only replace it one time. Yes, unfortunately the first plant that died was because we had a record heat wave and I probably was not watering it enough. The replacement I received I doubt was even alive because the root stock was already sprouting and the grafted branch was dry and brittle. I usually have a very good experience here, have spent $$$, and have even told many people to go to this Armstrong. I'm sad to see they don't honor what they advertise. I might as well just buy from the other gardening centers that cost less. And as one other poster mentioned, I also got an "Oh my god!", when they saw my root ball and dead stick. Maybe they shame you into not making returns and even worse deny you all together.

Seasonal spring and Mother's Day items!

Situated just beside the small Torrance airport sits Armstrong Garden Centers. It's much larger than the one I grew up next to and offers a broad selection of houseplants, garden staples, potting solutions, pesticides, and more. Every plant looks healthy and you can tell the many staff here do an excellent job of keeping the place clean. I came to this location looking for miniature African violets since my local Armstrong didn't carry them, and walked home with four little pots (all different colors)! Every gardener here is so friendly and greets you in passing. There's also a large home and outdoor decor section where you can try the patio seating or find a seasonal gift for the plant lover in your life. 10/10 will be coming back more often!

The staff at Armstrong Garden Center were so friendly and helpful! Patty went above and beyond to help me with my gardening needs. They are conveniently located and the parking lot has plenty of available spaces. Their store is very well maintained too!

I usually head to DTLA for plants, but when i'm not feeling the hours worth of traffic and want to stay local, I come here. I have around 6 houseplants from Armstrong and all came healthy and are still alive a year later. Can be a little pricey, but plants are always in great shape upon purchase (unlike home depot or lowe's), and staff is INCREDIBLY friendly and knowledgeable. Also: I have bought ceramic decorative pots for as little as $3, the sales for pots are amazing, just takes a little bit of searching through the shelves ;)

I prefer Lowes over Home Depot. Lowes stores are cleaner and the parking lot is less chaotic. I…read morehave recently written how Lowes offers a no paper receipt option at checkout. This reduces trash and saves them money that can be passed on to the customer. However, HD sells small hickory wood logs to use in a smoker. Lowes only sells chunks. I dragged the 30 lbs. of wood to the register and went through the payment process. When I asked if there was a no receipt option, the person working there said, don't worry, it will give you one." I proceeded to throw it away in the trash can as I left. There is no need in most cases to produce a paper receipt. I have an account with HD, give me the electronic option there.

I am extremely disappointed with the level of customer service and the repeated logistical failures…read moreI experienced with this order. I placed the order approximately three weeks in advance of the requested delivery date. Two days before the scheduled delivery, I proactively contacted customer service to confirm the delivery window and make sure there would be no issues with the drop-off. Despite that, I subsequently received communication indicating that the delivery might arrive outside of the confirmed window. I immediately contacted customer service again and was assured that there should not be an issue. Shortly afterward, I received a call from the delivery driver stating that they were about to deliver the order--even though I had specifically indicated that the order could not be delivered at that time. From there, what should have been a simple logistics issue turned into approximately eight separate back-and-forth phone calls and four rescheduled delivery attempts. Each time, I was given assurances about what could be done to resolve the situation, only to have those commitments subsequently walked back or changed. Ultimately, the delivery was rescheduled to the exact day I needed the supplies on site. This created a significant disruption to my project and put my contractor's schedule at risk. The most frustrating aspect is that I did everything I reasonably could to prevent this situation. I placed the order well in advance and proactively contacted customer service before the delivery specifically to confirm that everything was in order. After all of these failures, the proposed resolution was to waive the $80 delivery fee and provide a $200 credit on an approximately $3,000 order. While I appreciate the gesture, it does not adequately address the amount of time, inconvenience, disruption, and frustration caused by the repeated failures in communication and logistics. This was not a single mistake--it was a series of preventable failures at multiple points in the process, compounded by inconsistent information from customer service and a lack of effective ownership of the problem. I should not have had to make approximately eight calls and repeatedly explain the same situation simply to get a delivery handled according to the arrangements that had already been made. By comparison, I had a significantly better experience with Lowe's, where their staff did a phenomenal job helping me locate and purchase the supplies I needed for immediate pickup. That allowed my contractor to stay on schedule and complete the work as planned. As someone who manages a business myself, I find this level of customer service unacceptable. If I or someone on my team handled a customer situation this way--particularly after the customer had proactively taken steps to prevent the problem--I would expect there to be serious accountability for the failure. This experience has completely undermined my confidence in your company. Unfortunately, based on the way this situation was handled from beginning to end, I will not be doing business with you again. The issue was not simply that the delivery went wrong; it was the repeated failure to communicate accurately, follow through on commitments, take ownership of the problem, and provide an effective solution when there were multiple opportunities to do so.
