I graduated from my X-ray program on June 15 and wanted a haku lei for my ceremony. My boyfriend and I stopped here May 27 and they were able to take our order (I saw their order slips pinned on the wall so maybe place your order 3-4 weeks in advance to be safe, especially during graduation season). I showed them photos of how I wanted it and they recreated it to a T! They start at $65 and for the flowers I wanted it was $75 and I couldn't be happier. I scheduled my pick for 11am June 14 and when you schedule your time they will literally have it ready exactly at that time. I showed up 30 min before my pickup time and they were making it fresh right then. Love that! read more

So very helpful when I was looking for a lei for my cousin's HS graduation. I ordered a double custom lei (purple and white) as well as a ribbon lei. They also had some candy leis and I got one that used Now N Laters. I had called to make sure they were open until 3pm on Saturdays as we were headed to Carson so I could place the order. Aunty Paula was the one who answered the phone. I needed to arrange an order pickup on a Saturday because they are closed on Sundays and the event I needed the lei for was on the following Monday. Aunty Paula assured me the orchids would still be good on Monday. I just had to keep them refrigerated. Lala was the one who helped me when I place the order in person. She was also very helpful. I placed the order and paid in full to pick up 2 weeks later.... Everyone seems to be family at the shop and honestly, it's what I expected. And I'm glad... Grateful for the aloha they showed me and I'm thrilled with the double orchid lei and ribbon lei that will go on my baby cousin. Hours are 10am-3pm. Monday through Saturday. They have leis ready made in the cooler if you need some that same day. Otherwise, you can order custom or special ones. Ordered one week ahead of time: a ti leaf lei with some ends of the leaves sticking out (not full), closed style (like a circle), with orchids interspersed here and there. They told me which orchid colors I could choose from. It was ready at the scheduled time, fresh and beautiful, in a long clear plastic box. The place where the ends were fastened together was decorated with two small woven rosettes made out of ti leaf, a nice touch. Cost was $50 plus tax. Note: They told me that certain types of leis are only available at "graduation time," which is more like May or June, such as cigar flower, kukui nuts, shells, etc. But this ti-leaf-and-orchid type is available in January/February and an excellent option. read more

Island Leis saved my Father's Day spirit! My mom always made sure my dad had a lei to wear for Father's Day. She's passed now. And we still make sure our dad has a lei to wear to church every year.
