I would love to give a perfect 5-STAR review to this very kind, nice, and friendly lady in the Returns Department named BONNIE #10. I'm a regular customer of Macy's and i always see how dedicated she is at work and gives the best customer service to every customers that she meets. Even some customers are rude to her, she is always nice, accomodating, and professional with her dealings. Nowadays, it's hard to find people who are genuinely nice and professional. Most of the time, the new generations of employees are always rude, giving you attitude, won't smile nor have a nice conversation with you, doesn't appreciate their job, and will even use their phones at work while assisting you! So it's refreshing to see someone who still knows how to value their work and do their job right with respect and passion. I hope Macy's knows they have a precious gem in their company named Bonnie. And i hope Macy's is showing the appreciation that she deserves because a worker like Bonnie who isn't there just for the paycheck but truly cares about her job and the company is truly a rare find. Last week I went to Macys in Southland Mall, which I have not been for a long time. I was sooooo shocked of how terrible it looked !!! Cosmetics, jewelry and shoe department looked fine nice clean and organized, when you go to the second floor OMG, the women's department was like a war zone filled with cheap merchandise. Let me point out that my memories of such retailer were of a store full of wonderful, fashionable merchandise that was always perfectly organized. No wonder many retail chains are not doing well at all. Maybe smaller stores, with great quality goods, organized and clean would be the solution. Not going back, ever ! read more

On January 9 around approximately 11:45am I went into the Macy's, Hayward California Southland Mall location. I went to the Mac make up front counter and waited over 5 minutes before being told by the cashier that she will be right with me. I actually thought the cashier was a customer because she was conversing with an older woman. At no point in time was I greeted, as I waited in front of the cash register while being 8 months pregnant. I proceeded to wait an additional 10 minutes for her to finish up with the other woman, and actually help me. At no point in time did she mention she is the only one working for that department, and cannot have anyone else assist her. I told her I would like to exchange a product I bought online because it arrived broken. She then mentioned there is a charge of one dollar and ten cents which is a tax charge. I asked her why I need to pay an additional amount if I already purchased the item online and paid the tax online. At no point in time did I request a different product of any sort, all I requested was a simple even exchange for the exact same product. She said she does not know why, all she knows is that her system is requesting the money. At no point in time did she request additional assistance regarding the situation. When I kept asking her why I need to pay a second time she finally said she can contact a manager. When I asked if it would take a long time she rolled her eyes and said yes. At this point I got extremely fed up so I went ahead and paid. She rudely handed me the receipt and turned away. Again I was not greeted when I first walked up to the counter nor when she finally decided to help me. However another older women that was waiting behind me was properly greeted. I'm not sure if she discriminated against me because of my skin color nor the fact that I am pregnant. However I feel as though I was discriminated against for both. As I mentioned both of the older women, that were there before me, and after me, were properly greeted and assisted with excellent customer service by the cashier. At 12:13 PM, moments after exiting the store, I attempted to call the store to speak with a manager. Again, as I mentioned I am 8 months pregnant, and had already waited long enough. On the phone I selected the option for two different departments. After neither of the departments answered, the automated system gave me an option to speak with an online associate. The woman from the call center tried To reach somebody in the store on three separate occasions. The first time the call was disconnected, the second time we heard somebody answer and say I don't care and immediately disconnect the line. The third time a woman answered. She did not identify herself nor greet me over the phone. She proceeded to said yeah I need your information. I gave her my first name my last name and phone number. She then responded OK my manager will call you and the disconnected the line immediately. Again there was no apology nor timeframe provided as to when the manager will possibly contact me. The whole process on the phone took approximately 20 minutes. The store did not appear to be busy, and many of the employees in the cosmetics/ fragrance and purse department seemed to be conversing against themselves. Because they seemed to have free time, I am not sure as to why nobody answered the phone nor was able to assist with the situation. Just stay far away from here!! read more

This review is for the cosmetics department, i just went here hoping to buy a foundation, I went to the counter to see if someone can help me, there were 2 workers at that counter, I was the only customer, and they didn't even bother to greet or asked if I needed help! Poor shopping experience! This Macy's is located in Southland Mall, which is a mall that is barely existing. My first time here and I was surprised to see the parking lot SO EMPTY. Literally. I intentionally drove out to this mall to buy a pair of flats that were out of my size at the Macy's in Stoneridge Mall. There were only two other people in the shoe department and they were screaming at each other... The saleswoman was extremely helpful. She tried her best to help me as efficiently as she could but she had her hands full with the two screaming ladies. read more

I came to Macy's to return a dress I purchased online. There is a dedicated register at the south entrance (near men's fragrances). Returns are so easy at Macy's as long as you have your receipt. Super fast and seamless. The entire store as a whole can look quite messy. On multiple occasions i have found this store littered with merchandise on the floors, disorderly, etc. However, I always find the clerks at the registers very pleasant and helpful. The second floor has a huge section of marked-down items. You can find some excellent deals if you don't mind sufting through racks of clothes and shoes that are not organized by size. It's a treasure hunt. read more

Ridiculous customer service. I used to work this very Macy's when I was 16 years old and the customer service was so much better overall. Rude sales associates- you're already not helping me to find a size on the shoe floor, and told me to get in line to get a size?! Seriously someone should be assisting customers to get sizes they need on the floor while other sales associates should be at the registers. No one on the floor at all. Wtf? It's two days before Christmas and negative customer service left a sour taste in my mouth. I left immediately to spend my money else where. Also sales associates on the second floor are so slow and rude. The sales associate who rang me up clearly didn't know the system...smh. What happened to the training?! Staffing at this Macy's is quite chaotic. The first floor is overflowing with associates ready to help you in fragrances, cosmetics and jewelry whereas the third floor is completely dying and left alone with only 1 associate ringing up guests. Went yesterday to shop and the line was fairly long and with other guests coming up to the one associate for help and asking her several questions it seemed pretty overwhelming for one person. read more

This is just a review for one of the managers at the store, Leslie. I made a return yesterday and accidentally returned an item that was meant for another store (it was great I could also return the item in any department, not just the one the item was bought in, like other locations). Somehow, it was processed (since all of these particular items have the same UPC code, I was told) and instead of refunding the credit card used, a physical mailed Macy's check was being sent to my address. Since it would have been only good at Macy's, and not in the full amount spent on the item, I was a little distressed. Calling customer service did nothing, and they ended up advising me to call the store. At a little before 7pm (the store closes at 8, mind you), I spoke with an associate Caroline (sp?), who understood my situation and advised they would look for the item in question and she would have a manager call me back either later that night or the next morning. Lo and behold, Leslie actually called me right back after I hung up, and advised that she wasn't sure there was anything she could do--to void the return, it apparently had to be done at the register used, by the same associate who initially processed it, and on that same day. With it being almost closing time, I knew time was running out. Leslie said she would try to call the associate who processed it that morning and see if she could get some kind of code to punch in (that only that employee had access to) to make it work. After contacting the employee at home (I thank the associate I dealt with that was home to pick up! I think her name was Cecilia), Leslie called me around 7:30 to say she was able to void the return and I could pick up the non-Macy's item (they did process the item that had to go back to Macy's, and voided the check being mailed). Leslie met me as soon as I walked in (she answered a page about a minute after it was placed), and we laughed together at the chaos that she was able to mitigate that previous half hour before. I was blown away at the service, especially that late in the day, right before closing time. I really hope she is acknowledged for her dedication to helping a customer and her above and beyond efforts in resolving it. Strictly based on service, I'd come back here anytime, especially if I know Leslie is assisting. read more

I been shopping at this Macys location before and it has better selection back then. My recent experience has not been good. I was shopping for a bunch of casual clothing and one of my long sleeve dress that i bought has a tear in it. I didn't get it at the sale rack, this was new and regularly priced. Upon checking closely the tear came from removal of security sensor because it was located in the side right where the tag is. It should've been mentioned to me by the cashier or she probably didn't care or ripped it herself now I'm gonna waste my time going back If I ever have time. read more

Walked into this Macy's and it basically looks abandoned/deserted. I mean, there's customers inside but I could literally count all the employees/salespeople on my hand. I came in to return something I bought online and it was so hard to flag down someone because they're so understaffed. I finally found someone and the woman said she'll be back to assist me because she had to take care of something. 20 minutes later... She never came back! At least send someone else over to assist me if you're gonna hella long doing whatever you had to do. Anyways, I had to flag someone else down and finally was able to do my return. Oh yeah, and their online customer service SUCKS! Sent an email and took them over four days to respond to me. I highly doubt they get that many emails as there are way better department stores out there. Nonetheless, their prices are low so I'll keep buying stuff online but definitely avoid this location if you have to go in a store. read more

I can't believe that I'm saying this about a Macy's, but this location is kind of ghetto. Some other reviewers feel the same way. The store is a bit dirty. The carpet is old, and is lightly coming up in spots. The elevator is an antique, and it moves slower than Betty White (she just turned 91). There are even some small holes in the back, as if it's been shot up. All that's missing are some bullet shell casings. The store is huge (there are 3 levels) and fairly well organized. On Sunday my wife and I looked for shoes for our son Joshua. We really didn't see any kids' shoes at all. We checked both areas they should have been. Level 1: I was actually shocked by the shoe section. It's pretty small and limited. The shoe section at the NewPark Mall location is much bigger and better. When we entered, I saw 3 associates gathered together like they were in a pow-wow. I didn't want to be stalled ("Can I help you?"; "Sir, you smell really bad. May I interest you in some cologne?"; "Other than your sanity, are you looking for something in particular?"), and so I had us go around them. Level 3: There are a good number of items for kids overall, and the other sections are nicely arranged. Because we didn't buy anything, I can't really comment on the associates here. Other reviews, however, suggest that the service here is hit or miss. This isn't a bad store, but it's not really great either. read more

Recently, I was brutalized--stripped naked and taken down in a Jersey City back alley for a Gotti brother bukkake raid. Oh, wait...no I wasn't. I just got a really bad spray tan. I was going to write a scathing review of the place that made me look like the love child of George Hamilton and my orange striped cat, but since they sent me a check for the botched service, it means they've somewhat redeemed themselves in my eyes. More importantly, though, it means they have my home address, and while I might be a whiny smartass I sure as hell am not a fool. Anyhow, in the interim, I Googled "how to remove a bad spray tan" and followed all the suggestions I found. I scrubbed, loofahed, I even soaked my ass in vinegar. All to no avail. Great. Now I didn't just look like a douche, I smelled like one. Thanks to this conveniently located, underrated Macy's for carrying the hard-to-find, magically wonderful Clarins Self-Bronzing Milk, the only thing that evened out the evil. I love, love, love Macy's! ! I'm always finding good deals here especially throughout the weekend when they have their 20% off on clearance sales. I love when I can come and get deals especially off of named brand clothes! Bought: -jeans: $3.49 -Jacket:$12.94 -dress: $10.99 Let me remind you that these are named brand clothing; man can you say GOOD deal! Some Macy's that I go to has their clothes all on the floor and clothes scattered everywhere but I just don't see this when I come to this location. Customer service is on point! Lines seem to move a little slow but I'm guessing because the workers are probably new and just recently been trained. Everything is usually nice and we'll stocked, clothes, household goods, purses and jewelry I would definitely recommend this Macy's location! Happy shopping! read more

So I'm more closer to my 30s and I don't know much about make up and even more so on how to apply it. I've been quite unhappy with my skin and thought I'd give it a shot. Some make up I applied in the past for special occasions made me feel like I'm wearing a cake and tons of frosting on my face and it made me break out afterwards. And taking all that gunk off is disgusting, especially when it ends up on your hot man's clothes. I was looking for some education and some new products that won't feel heavy on my face. I was also looking for a patient customer service rep that would teach me what my mother failed to do. I found that at the Prescriptives counter at Macy's. Laquioia (forgive me for the misspelling) was helpful, patient and very informative. I was impressed with the products she was suggesting and she took my concerns and initial comments to a certain product seriously. I ended up buying the Miracles powder that went for $30-something and a brush (since obviously I didn't have the appropriate tools), spending a little over $50. I also rec'd a free lip gloss which Laquioia selected just for me. Very nice of her. I'm wearing the new make up today and I'm pretty happy with it! I've signed up for the email list as well at the Prescriptives web site. read more

Home Dept - I had the worst service ever. Two Filipino women were rude to me when I asked questions about my registry. Then they started talking in Tagalog right in front of me. They mixed English into their conversation so that's how I knew it was about me. Then when I came to speak to one of them again, she just turned around and walked away. Service review only!! I come here often, in fact I was just here to buy a suit for a friends wedding about a month ago. I purchased a few extra shirt because I wasn't sure what would look right. (Normal) I headed into Macy's to return the shirts I did not use. One was unwrapped because i tied it on and it didn't fit right. I kept the tag and that sticker they scan specifically for returns. I also had my recipt. I was waiting in line when the lady opened up and invited me over for assistance. I pulled the shirts out of my Macy's bag and she started to sigh. I then placed the tag ontop of the shirt that didn't have one. She examined one shirt then looked at me and asked if I wore them, I told her I tried one on but as to can see the others are still folded. She told me she couldn't find the information for the one shirt even though I had the tag and recipt. She told me that it could have been switched. People are switching shirts. I asked her if she was accusing me of something then told her if she cannot find it on my receipt or on te tag that's in front of her face then she can use my Macy's card since I've been a member for years. All of a sudden she found it. I mean really? Smh Macy's. Is this standard customer service? absolutely appalled. I want to cut up my Macy's card and just stick to shopping at nordstrom. WORST. CUSTOMER. SERVICE. OF. MY. LIFE. Wow, just wow. After asking for help with sunglasses some guy says "here, let me show you!" - takes 3 steps, then the representative just points across the store. I'm thinking okay, that's not really showing me but okay I'll walk over there. No one is at the sunglasses place, so I start looking around me for help. There's a woman who wants to sell me perfume but apparently that's all she does so shes no help. Oh, hey, I see the original representative so I wave him down. He makes eye contact, then turns around and walks away. Umm... Then a third representative sees me from a distance, and by this point I'm a little upset, so I wave both hands in the air for help. She stares at me awkwardly, then starts talking to her coworker. No help. Finally a very quiet representative asks if I need help. I'm like yes, no one else is helping me. She says "well, did you go find someone and ask for help?" - Very condescending. She couldn't help me apparently so she said she would be right back and grabbed someone else. The person who finally helped me was tired and obviously overworked, and kept complaining about her back, and I'm not saying that's her fault (more potentially Macy's fault), but it certainly didn't help the shopping experience. Since the Sunglasses Hut rents space in the store, there was not a single person available who knew anything about the sunglasses. I picked two out, but she couldn't find the case for one of them. So she said she would sell them to me and leave a note and I could come pick up the case later. I decided to just go with the one pair that had a bag, and bought a case for it. On my way out the representative who I had waved at, who didn't help me, made eye contact again and then turned and seemingly got out of my way. I guess either she knew she fucked up or thought I was fuming. I love Macy's. And I will NEVER go back to this one. read more

I ordered my perfume from this location (due to them not having it), when I went to pick it up, they could not locate it. It took over an hour from the start to the end of the ordeal, with multiple people waiting in anger behind me. Now I will have to wait an additional week to receive my perfume. Stroll through on a Saturday afternoon to pick up a gift for my cousin who just turned 18 years old, we head straight for the MAC area. Friendly gal at the cash register guides us through buying a makeup bag and gift card and even runs all the way down to the stock room to get us their new paper bags and try to find tissue paper to stuff. On her way back, she finds all the different gift cards she can so we can choose which we like best. The 5 minute walk and search in heels? Now that's dedication. read more

We purchased some shirts for my boyfriend and normally I didn't think the wrong labeled hangers would be on the wrong size shirts, so basically we were Sopose to buy size large shirts and ended up with XXL size! This review is for the ladies at the Bare Escentuals makeup counter. I went in for makeup help and walked out feeling confident and satisfied. I am a makeup newbie and had no idea of what would look good on me. Candace was immediately helpful and very patient with all of my questions and concerns. All together she had me try three lipsticks and several eyeshadows. I was encouraged to try a bolder lipcolor than I would've tried on my own and I'm so glad I did. I tried foundation and didn't like it but she wasn't pushy at any point in the process. I left feeling like I had only purchased what I wanted and I will definitely be back. read more

I went to Sunglass Hut at Macy's and was looking for a specific pair of Ray Bans. I met Joe (salesperson) and talked to him about the pair of sunglasses I wanted. Joe's demonstration of customer service was second to none. He did not have the pair I was looking for but found the pair at their Milpitas location. As I thanked him for his help, I asked him where the restrooms were located. They were up on the third floor. I thanked him again and left. As I was exiting the restroom I saw Joe again. He hand taken the escalator to the 3rd floor to hand me a piece of paper. He wanted to make sure that I had the phone number and the contact person that had my pair of sunglasses. Amazing! read more

Ask for NAZMIN in the watch/jewelry department, and you will not be disappointed! She is SUPER helpful! The best customer service experience that I've had in years! I was in search of the perfect present for my valentine, and so I called Macys to check the availability of the item. To my dismay, they were sold out. However, Nazmin offered to order the product directly from the warehouse and would have it shipped to my house with FREE shipping and handling. She also suggested other styles that were similar to the item that i was looking for. Not a lot of people take the time to assist customers, which makes Nazmin a diamond in the rough! Buyer beware! Be sure to check what the prices are and do your math! An entire rack of clothes was priced 75% off and they rung up half off. They claimed they were both placed there by customers and that they check the ranks daily, then they claimed onlyred tags were 75% off, so I took them to the rack filed with similar shirts and signed as the whole rack , not "up to" 75% off, either. Two stars because at least they did the right thing and gave me the discounted price in the end, but I had to really fight with them. read more

Wednesday September 18th at 11:30am I made a quick trip to Macys to get a birthday gift. The home goods section is on the second floor and as I stepped off the escalator Felicia greeted me with a warm hello. The home goods section and womens department are next to each other. I shopped around for a little bit and saw Felicia again and asked her advice on what I was purchasing. She was so nice and friendly and helped me tremdously. Also Jonathan her co worker was super nice. Only thing I dislike about this location is the shoe department is unorganized. Other than that,I love Macys. read more

Came to this location as a last resort because the Sephora inside of jcpennys was a complete waste of time. I was immediately asked if I needed help by Janet who was AMAZING! She wasn't trying to sell me or push on me a product I did not want (usually that happens at this Macy's) she listened to all of my complaints about certain brands and helped me with what I needed exactly!
