(aka Union City) I finally had the time to check this place out on my lunch break - given, I was in an instant desire to let go & get my hands off of some fresh kicks (Air Jordan 4 Retro Bred ReImagined - sz 10), that I had bought over a ShockDrop from their Nike SNKRS app hat my homie hooked up for me not too long ago! Don't let that person know, tho! (cuz I will find out! Haha JK) I used to be somewhat 'so much' involved in the shoe game / hypebeast lifestyle growing up.. Honest, Legit, and Transparent. Thank you for being friendly & patient - especially for someone like me not having a peer-to-peer mobile payment app that allows users to easily transfer funds from a linked financial institution account to another recipient - I did have PayPal, tho! Haha. I had only tried them on inside my house for about 30 seconds, but when I brought them back, the store manager immediately refused the return. He looked at the bottom of the shoes and claimed I had worn them outside just because there were a few tiny pieces stuck in the sole. I explained that it was cat litter from my floor, not dirt or rocks, but he didn't care. What made it worse is that he didn't even ask to see my receipt -- just jumped to conclusions and treated me like I was trying to return used shoes. The shoes were basically brand new, and I followed all the return conditions. The manager was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. For a store that sells premium shoes, you'd expect way better customer service -- especially for a return within the same day. Won't be shopping at Shoe Palace again. Do better.

While they have more shoes out on the racks, I feel like the hidden gem is harder to find. The shorts, hoodie and crew neck selection has been pretty solid lately as well. I lot of them are in the $19-30 range. My workout shirt wardrobe needed a refresh, I was able to find a bunch for $14-20. IN-STOCK ONLINE VS IN STORE…read more This past January I went to Foot Locker in Southland Mall for a specific pair of Adidas - adidas Originals Superstar II. The color I was looking for was a white pair with the Adidas sign outlined in black with the inside white. I thought that was a cool look - a pair potential dance shoes for hip hop performances. When I entered this location I couldn't find the pair I was looking for. I presumed this pair was out of stock at this store and maybe that Foot Locker didn't sell this pair anymore online. A couple of months later when I searched through the Foot Locker website it showed that this pair was not only available online, but also sold at Vallejo. I didn't want to drive all the way to Vallejo. Also for shoes I rarely order them online as I like to wear the shoes for fitting. On the Foot Locker website I typed my local zip code to search for stores that has this pair and my size of 8.5 in stock. The website showed that this exact pair and size was in stock at Southland Mall. In March I went back to Foot Locker at Southland Mall. When I entered the store I didn't see the exact adidas Originals Superstar II pair and color on display. The sales representative Isaiah asked me if I had any questions. I showed him the Foot Locker website, which stated this pair was available at the Southland Mall location. He then asked me what size I was looking for. I asked sizes 8 and 8.5. Isaiah went to the back and carried the two pair sizes. Even though I regularly wear size 8.5 the size 8 didn't feel tight at all. Then I asked Isaiah for his opinion. He said the size 8 appears tight on my sides. I choose size 8.5. In January this exact pair according to Foot Locker cost $100. When I went to Foot Locker in March there was a promotional sale, which was $20 off for this pair. Even though I appreciate the service from Isaiah I wish this Foot Locker location was more upfront by displaying a pair that is available on the website.

When working in the city I would sometimes drop them of at places there just for convenience but nothing as good as The Cobblers. Not only a shoe repair place but a store for boots, work boots, hats, coats etc. I even stock up on Shoe Goo here for my Merrill running shoes with the sole that can't be replaced but was told it would be more expensive if they did it so just get the Shoe Goo. This place has been around since the late 50's and run by the same family.  Shoe repair is an art that won't get taken over by AI. The only thing that will put a place like this out of business is disposable shoes and clothes.  We are not there yet for the nice stuff. So once again my partner needed heels on her boots and since nothing local it's of to Hayward. $20 up front and a few days later boots look as good as new. New heels and all polished up. So for the ladies not sure if ya'll in the clackety heel camp or the more cushie no clack camp, but they have both. My partner is in the clackety camp. You can get hear her coming on a tile floor a mile away. So not just heels but resoles and all types of repairs. There is free parking on the street and in the back. Go there, it'll be great.

They have excellent selection of shoes, western wear, leather, etc. Most importantly - they do repairs and even full rebuilds of shoes, boots, high heels, etc. I have a pair of duty boots for the fire department (Chippewa brand) that I purchased from them 20+yrs ago for the community college fire academy. After 15 or so years of daily wear and abuse, the Cobblers rebuilt them - and it was as if the boot were brand new!! I had a pull tab / loop tear off on my expensive ostrich skin western boots; they repaired it & it looked brand new. They are also INCREDIBLY skilled at re-soling shoes & boots. I have another pair of western boots, that I wear for outdoor activities; hunting, fishing, camping. Not only did they rebuild them to like-new, they installed an "aggressive" sole, so now I have a pair of western slip-on cowboy boots, which have a pair of hiking style off-road soles!! They work absolute magic at this place! Particularly for your leather shoes / boots, don't throw them away... Take them to the cobblers, they'll make them as if they're brand new!!
