I went looking for a suit for my son's senior prom and Aymen was a great help from the time we walked in the door. The selections were newer styles and the price can't be beat for what you get. I will highly recommend for people to go rent or buy a suite or tuxedo for any occasion. I plan on going back again.

So many other shops give you a strict 90-minute window, pressure you to make a quick decision, and rush you out the door. Papers and Petals was a complete breath of fresh air. I specifically worked with the owner, Georgette, and one of their amazing consultants, Paige. They let me take my time, listened closely to everything I loved and didn't like about each dress, and used that exact feedback to pull options until they found my perfect dress. They were so patient, letting me retry favorites and go back and forth until I was 100% certain and so incredibly excited. They even let my appointment run over because they genuinely wanted to make sure I was confident and super happy with my decision. The exceptional service continued long after I said yes to the dress. Georgette's son and co-owner, Joseph, was wonderful to work with during my fittings. He is so flexible, accommodating, and keeps the whole shop running seamlessly. Every single person I interacted with during fittings and pickup was incredibly kind and helpful, and any concerns I had were solved on the spot. I absolutely loved my dress on my wedding day and am so happy. I would recommend any bride looking for "the one" to go here!

After shopping around, I realized the same dress was available at other bridal boutiques for less. By the time I paid for the dress and the required alterations, I had spent over $7,000. I recommend future brides compare prices at multiple boutiques before making a purchase and ask about the expected cost of alterations upfront. It may save you a significant amount of money.

Marina at Le Caprice is a lifesaver!…read more I ordered a Vivienne Westwood gown from a very popular bridal shop. When I tried it on during pickup, I knew something was off. It took 3 stylists just to hook the dress together before it could be zipped up. I had not gained any weight since ordering, and the dress felt like it had been ordered a size too small. The stylist who was helping me put on the dress kept reassuring me that the gown had a hard corset, and because it was strapless, it was meant to fit that tightly. Well before my actual wedding, I had my courthouse ceremony... I needed a lot of help to get the dress hooked on, and when it came time to drive to the courthouse, I couldn't even sit up. I had to lean the car seat all the way back in order to make it to the courthouse. The entire afternoon I was so uncomfortable that I didn't even want to drink water. After that experience, I brought my dress to Marina at Le Caprice. She took one look at my back and didn't even bother zipping me up. She assured me that my dress was too small, that it was not just in my head, and offered to remove the zipper and replace it with a corset back! I was nervous because I really loved the top part of my dress and how snatched it made my waist look, but when I received my dress it still looked just as perfect! Not only that, but I was completely comfortable in it when I was sitting and eating at my reception (: Marina was able to complete the alterations super fast at a fair price and I think the corset was elegantly executed. I highly recommend coming to Le Caprice!

My dress and veil were steamed before pick up, and I was glowing on my wedding day

I didn't realize that they're closed on Sundays and I completely missed getting it last Saturday. I don't reside in Hayward but was staying in a hotel in the vicinity for about a week. I work in the airport (usual 8:00-4pm grind) so it's quite a trip for me to cross San Mateo bridge in the rush hour traffic. Of course, I also didn't ask if they have modified hours with COVID. Apparently, even if the receipt says open M-F 8am-6pm, they're only open through 5pm. Understandable. This is why I'm super thankful for the lady for going above and beyond. She even said don't worry about it drive safe and I'll wait for you until 5:30. Whew, I barely made it but got there around 5:20pm. She also made sure I check if I have everything I need. Thank you so much 1st choice cleaners! For that, you'll definitely be my first choice for dry cleaners whenever I'm in the East Bay Area. :) The wash and fold costs $2.25/lb but minimum 10 lbs. so make sure you have a lot to bring of laundry with you if you want to avail of that price. I had a great experience at the Janene's showroom in San Francisco. They have a huge selection of…read moredresses in a variety of styles. I was looking for something a little unusual, and at other stores I had struggled to try dresses in line with what I was looking for. It's a beautiful store in a convenient location, and I would highly recommend it. My stylist was very helpful and I loved working with her! (Shoutout to Renee!) That being said, I wouldn't recommend the tailoring at Janene's in Alameda. The first issue I encountered was that my dress wasn't delivered from the San Francisco store to the Alameda store in time for my first tailoring appointment, despite there being about 10 days to do so. The more concerning issue was that the stylist and tailor I worked with in Alameda didn't take my concerns about fit and comfort seriously, and seemed more interested in doing what they felt was best. My dress wound up being ill-fitting and uncomfortable in the torso and shoulders. What added further insult to injury was that the last stylist I worked with when I picked up my dress insisted that it wasn't that bad, and that all wedding dresses are similarly uncomfortable. There were a few issues with how the fabric was lying that I was assured could be fixed with fashion tape; when it came to the day of the wedding, fashion tape was completely ineffective. For all that, the alterations also cost more than my wedding dress. I've been effusive in my praise for Janene's as a place to buy a wedding dress; one of my friends has already bought a dress there! I have been similarly dispassionate about the tailoring services.
