You'd probably get away with some simple work here for the cheaper pricing but I wish I had taken my wedding dress somewhere else where they have more attention to detail. Nancy is a very nice lady but there is a language barrier as she doesn't seem to speak/understand English very well so there could be some miscommunication. This was my first time taking anything to get altered so I definitely learned from this experience. You have to pay for the service ahead of time but she doesn't really write down what it is you need to get done... you have to know exactly what you want done and to request it, and even so, she may forget. Pricing is definitely cheaper than other places but I think I would have rather paid more to have more detailed work done. She had forgotten to add a bustle so she just sewed one point on while I had the dress on before I left. read more

Nancy created 4 outfits total for us. The first two were great, and the third outfit turned out well. All three were original designs we shared with her and although it was good, there are minor flaws with her finished works. We had commissioned a unique wedding dress from her, she handed us an unfinished dress lining three days before the wedding. I can't in good faith recommend someone who had over 4 months to create a gown and did not follow through. We called several times a week and finally asked her for a refund when she handed us the unfinished dress. She only returned a small percentage of the amount paid to her and said the dress cape (it was two pieces) was worth 3/4 of funds paid to her. Which was not in the original quote. Be careful as she takes payments upfront before she starts work and it is hard to keep her accountable. Nancy is a nice lady however she is not responsible with deadlines and it is hard to have her take responsibility when you point out flaws or timeline issues. I would recommend for simple alterations or additions to existing garments. Her original creations are not always polished or delivered on time. read more

Update: Gave her another chance but she forgot to return one of my clothing items. She tried to play it off like I forgot to pick it up...and the stitches were jagged. For some reason, the employees working here were locked IN 2 out of the 3 times I've showed up. The first time, Nancy was on vacation (which by the way, was not posted anywhere) and a worker was miming to me through the door's window to explain the situation. A few minutes later, an Asian man (I'm guessing the property owner) came up and unlocked the door and that's when the worker inside was able to come out and tell me she was on vacation and to come back in a couple of weeks. The second time was after she came back from vacation and was my second attempt at trying this business. Once again, all the workers were locked inside and could not open the door for me to come in. They did not have the key. I waited for half an hour before walking around the building looking for the Asian man property owner to unlock the door for these workers and actually found him. I asked him if he has the key to unlock the door so I could go in, and he said no (wtf???). Eventually, after about an hour of waiting, that same Asian man came and unlocked the door (to let a worker from a different business out) and that's when I was able to get into the building. He had the key after all! This is weird and suspicious! And frankly, a huge fire hazard. It's low key giving indentured servitude. Nancy is nice but the tailoring was subpar...I had to bring my stuff in a third time to get fixed. The miscommunication with vacation on top of the weird situation surrounding them being locked into the building is what's keeping me from coming back. read more

I dabble in professional wrestling. Recently I was part of a tournament, and wanted custom tights made with fabric I had personally selected. I had originally brought the materials to a general tailor who has worked with various wrestlers in the past. This was actually out of my way, and they also limited in the designs they could make for me. Turns out they were closed for the next two days when I got there. It was a Monday, and I needed the tights ready in time for the tournament on Saturday. So the race was on. I found Nancy on Yelp's search, and spoke with her Brother on the phone when I called. I explained the situation with hesitation, because asking your ordinary tailor to make wrestling tights is surprisingly rare it seems. When I came by and explained how I'd like the tights to look, Nancy and her brother asked all the right questions to make sure it was what I wanted, even searching on the internet for references. I asked if she was sure she'd be able to finish by Friday and without hesitation she confirmed she would. They took my measurements, I left my fabrics and prayed that the tights would be as awesome as I'd imagine them. Sure enough, the tights were done by Friday evening, and I'm incredibly impressed at the detail and quality in a short amount of time that i had given her. This was my first custom pair, so I was insanely nervous I wouldn't look good. Nancy and her brother are so cordial and accommodating, and they made sure I looked like a real competitor in my tournament. This was a total shot in the dark and boy was it an excellent choice. I needed a wool blend coat to be taken in. The size was what I usually wear but the manufacturer obviously didn't have the measurements correct. I called Nancy and she said she could help. Went in there, and she just started pinning my coat all over, after having me put it on. Not much discussion was needed and she simply said, come back in a week. A week later, I went in and realized that she had stayed late to finish my coat. I felt terrible about it, after all it was just a coat. But anyway, I thanked her profusely, apologized for her having to stay till 7 pm working on it, and tried the coat on. It was EXACTLY how I wanted. The perfect fit. Man I don't know where to start! OVER CHARGED! NOT READY! I went on September 1st to drop off some fleece and a pad (for in between) I needed stitched together, not a hard job at all I thought. Get there and bring all the material except for the string and expertise. I was told it would be $60 UPFRONT and would be ready September 9th. That's a lot right?! but I was trying to understand its Labor Day weekend and I want to support local businesses. Fast forward to today September 9th, I called @3pm to see if it was going to be ready and the man (who I later found out was her brother) told me that it wasn't ready and would be in 2 days because his sister (Nancy) wasn't there, hangs up on me! At this point everything hit me about how wrong this all was and I was not happy! How could Nancy not be there but you guys are open? He calls me back around 4 tells me to come before 5 so I do. A lot is going through my mind right now. It is all finished on the counter, it's Nancy and her brother there I ask "why was it $60?? You had it for about a week and it wasn't done till right now" The brother tells me "no you paid $40" my response was "I wish" and show him my "Receipt" then they explain "it's $60 because rent prices and water bills and everything are very high!" At this point I'm just like WOW! I understand it's very hard time right now especially for small businesses. I grab the blankets and walk out and examine the work done. I had brought them a few extra inches of fleece in case she needed it but all she had done was stitch the ends together. I bring them back in and show her that it's too long and she redos them both after cutting and it took no more than 8 minutes for both. This is pretty much a same day service at this point! Nancy is a really nice woman and her brother could use some help in customer service. If you do not speak Spanish or look the part they seem to be prejudice towards you and you will be over charged! read more

Nancy is a sweet lady. Although, upper half of the dress was not altered at all. The only thing that was actually worked on was the slit, & it was done incorrectly. I was charged $90 prior. When I tried on my dress the day before the event, it still did not close :( See pic. I appreciate her kindness, although please be transparent before handing over the dress or at least prior to paying let me know it won't be done on time. I asked how much a pant hem was and if they would be able to add a side zipper to a tunic. The man on the phone, was quite loud and very rude when I asked about the zipper. He shut me down and said that I needed to come in and ask and that he can't do anything. I paused and calmly asked if he was the tailor, he said it was his sister, I told him that I was visiting and that's why I was calling a head of time...
